does decaf green tea have the same benefits as caffeinated? Also, regarding coffee, does decaffeinated coffee cause the same homocystein elevation? Thx!

Decaffeinated green tea can have similar health benefits to regular green tea if it's made using a natural water process that removes only about 5% of its antioxidants. However, some say that the decaffeination process can remove water-soluble vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, so you might need to drink more decaf green tea to get the same health benefits as regular green tea.
Caffeine is partly responsible for the homocysteine-raising effect of coffee. Coffee, but not caffeine, affects homocysteine metabolism within hours after intake.
