One tip: I think that it might be helpful to a lot of viewers if you state the Exact Year, Make, Model, & Trim Level of the Vehicle you are working on. You did mention that this RAM did not have the OEM Alpine system, so 👍
Also, I believe that the midrange drivers on these two sets are 2.75" & 3.5" respectively, not 2" & 3". I know that's a minor detail, but when it comes to speaker sizes & fitment, that could be a big deal for some, and might cause some confusion for potential buyers of these Kenwoods looking for factory replacements.

Hey you sound knowledgeable about the Kenwood speakers so can I ask a question. It's buggin me. With these Kenwoods, in your opinion, would they work well together with the bass in the back, being a Taramps Smart 3 with the Skar ZVX 15" ? Or would the bass bury the speakers? I'm kinda worried, I've never heard them in person, so I have no clue what they sound like. Do you have an opinion on this?
A sensible approach to a 2-way for in dash applications! It's nice to find out Illusion audio no longer has a monopoly in that department! ;)
I just bought a set for my 2024 Camry. I put in Infinity 6.5 but was not satisfied with the midbass, now I'm satisfied!!
thanks for your great videos! I am planning on putting a XR600 / Maestro combination in my 2019 Ram limited which came with the horrible Alpine system. What is you opinion on the best speakers for this model and amp? Should I stick with the Kenwood XP6903c front & X683c rear combination or look at something like the infinity reference 9632IX / 3032CFX front and reference 9632 rear, or even a JL audio setup with C1-690x / C2-350X Front C1 690tx rear? I am not concerned with overly loud or booming bass but mainly listen to classical or acoustic so I am more concerned with accuracy, clarity and separation. Thanks for the input!
So, where would you recommend placing the roadkill? On the door panel as well as the door? Also, since the factory speakers are 8 ohm and these are 4 can I still run these off my factory deck until I get my amps and new r eciever? Thanks guys!
I was wondering. Why did you turn the low pass on the speakers? Or did you turn off cross over to the mini amp? I would think you have more control using amp crossover instead? About to do my vehicle with same speakers and amp. Thanks! You guys are great.

14 Regular Cab RAM W/halo 9 and two 12" subs, I want to upgrade the front stage would these Kenwood components play well with a dedicated Rockford Fosgate P600X4, would they be under or over powered?
the XFC XP6903c is exactly what i need for my chrysler 200! when will they be available?
Just installed the 6902c version in my 08 Tundra. The "mids" actually have decent highs. I wanted the dedicated tweeter that is in the 6903, but it was not going to fit. I noticed the 6902 use a whizzer which helps with the highs (shine a flashlight through the grill and you can see it in there)
Dean & Fernando: I have a 2010 Tundra with JBL 3 way set, looking at these Kenwoods (2s not 3s) vs Kicker Ks components with the new 2.75 coming out. Which way would you go. Would prefer a 3 way, possibly running a kicker key bi-amped on front stage. Which way would you go?
I got a question for you guys. So I bought the JL Audio C2-350x 3.5's and I have them in my dash. I know their power rating is only 20W RMS, but I wanted to ask how you'd compare those 3.5's to these Kenwood ones? I have them amplified with a pioneer GM-D8604, and i really convince myself sometimes that the JL's aren't loud or just don't pack enough punch. Would I be upgrading if I got these Kenwood 3.5's?

So I bought the 6902 a couple months ago. Not bad! But I'm wanting to run active with it. The crossover point is 850hz. Pioneer network mode only goes as high/low as 1.2khz.
Kenwoods actual video for these sets advertise the xr401-4 being able to run them active. WELL! It can only do 2.5khz as a crossover.
Would 1.5khz be too high and cause break up in the sound on the woofer?

how do you wire this in a toyota? do you take the toyota output from the radio and split it into 2? one set goes to the crossover and then to the tweeter. another set going to the woofer?

i want these for my 2023 jeep grand cherokee L but crutchfield says they don’t fit don’t know how because my door speakers are 6x9 and dash are 3.5 maybe mounting depth but these come with spacers so not sure

Curious how they sound hooked up to a factory amplified dodge. Would they be a disappointment over the factory alpine. I’m sure the front highs would be a huge upgrade but afraid the factory amp won’t have enough for the door speakers.

With a Ram, if I wire this kit as a true component set by running new leads between the dash and door, will I alleviate the super bright effect that results from doing a simple plug and play using the factory parallel wiring?

How do these compare to pioneer ts-d69c?
Lower Impedance doesn't mean louder, just means it draws more power. A PA speaker is also 8 ohms, and is louder than any car speaker.
Efficiency varies among speakers, impedance is not everything (and that's without going into the fact a lot of cheap amps do NOT double/halve power with impedance doubling/halving)

Another Excellent installation video! Thanks! Man I've heard those Kenwood Excelon component 6×9's, and they sound Awesome! Very Good sound! Not quite as good as the 3 way Infinity Kappa Perfect that I run in my Honda, but those 'woods have great Clarity in my opinion.

Glad to see companies are starting to take the 6x9 size seriously. Once people realize that the design actually lends itself to really great sq, brands will start to put the same R&D into them like they do with 6.5" mids. Important thing to note, if the 6x9 is oriented properly in the door, the beaming effect all drivers have become a huge asset! Imagine really tight midbass and great mid-range! Esp in a 3-way.
Some of these car manufactures really overthink their speaker mounting options and do some bizarre things. At least the RAM and other Chrysler vehicles keep it simple. Of all the ones I’ve done they were straight forward and sounded good.
Okay so if I'm setting the high pass on these, what do I need to set for them on the head unit? 2 way or 3 way? I have my hpf for the 6x9 at 80hz and the tweeter set at 5khz, 24db slope as is recommended for SUV's. And also they are crackling quite a bit. I had them "professionally" installed but if it has to do with wiring I wouldn't even know where to look, as I didn't do it. I'm thinking of taking them off to investigate🤔 thanks

Only issue I would see with them is that most car companies that use a 6.5 to 6x9 as a "subwoofer" are as far as I've seen 1ohm. Now I doubt that those 6x9's are 1ohm. So it would kill some use cases in which they built some of the features for
The_Undead_Zambie I cant speak for every situation but I personally replaced the rear 6x9’s in a Saturn aura, which are 2ohm speakers, with just some basic scosche 6x9’s (4ohm) and noticed really no difference in bass response
