Great content but I'm going crazy that you recommend speakers and don't clearly say what models they are and we can't see in the video and you're not clear in the links which one you like. What was the speaker you recommended over the Kentwood Please start being cleat on what your final recommendation are and it will make your videos much better :)

I just put the 1666S in the doors of my Mazda ute and I think they sound great. I've never seen anyone test speaker quality by holding it in their hand. They have to be mounted into something. I dread to think what a Marshall stack would sound like if you tested the speakers out of the cabinets like this!!
He needs to start testing the speakers in an enclosure, which should improve the Bass response.
He goes on about bass being bad but he never states that its a 2 way speaker meant for mid to high not a 3 way so its meant to be paired with a sub
It would sound horrible becaus the cab gives it way more bass and punch

What's the point to "test" speaker without mounting it? There is no bass from any speaker until it's in chassis

I will agree about the scosche.. i had some 5 1/4 one and those things were a lot louder than my rockford prime ones, but once i got an amp i replaced them with some mid-range ones and those things really scream :D also have the alpine u showed, really good since i got them for under $60 :) now to talk my friend into getting some scosche speakers :)
The one you unboxed is the KFC-1666R is there a difference between the KFC-1666S and the KFC-1666R

I bought 2 pairs of these 1666s ($45 total for 4 speakers from EBay) and for factory replacements were much better than base model stock. And do have much better bass in the doors. That being said...I gave them away lol

You are correct in saying the Kenwood is not worth it.I bought the S and not the R and they sound so bad.these speakers bottom out so quick.0ne cannot even turn up the volume without distortion.I would rather put the extra money and get a better sounding and better quality speaker. Will these fit 2001 Toyota Sequoia?
WIth amp power & setting the HPF correctly, these actually sound good for the price. Yes you will need a sub to go with them but for mids & highs, they are good. I wouldn't knock them.
If you got a crap amp and crappier stock speakers, these are fine. I'm sure there are a lot better ones for the money but I managed to get these a couple miles down the road from me.

What type of amp?
A cheap 300 watt dual from Walmart. I actually made a mistake 8 months ago typing my comment . The 6 1/2s are in the back where the old 3 inch speakers were. It's a single cab truck. I custom built the boxes . The doors have the Kenwood 6x9s . The speakers all came in a kit off Amazon. I custom installed the 6x9s in the door by cutting the door panel out to fit. My Silverado has deep interior door panels. They friggin pound!

Are you sure that is the KFC1666S?? The box says KFC1666R, not S. They are not the same speakers.
The KFC1666S dont have the woofer in black, the woofer is like white color, and the specs and materials are different. They dont even belong to the same Product Series... I have seen other review videos and they show the speaker as good in sound quality, including Bass response.

I wish I listened to you in this video. I got them cuz they were like, 30 bucks. I was like, man people are liking them in there beaters and these get so many good reviews! Nah man you are right these are so shitty. Only thing they did better than the stock ones in my car was that fact that they could get wayy louder.

That's the joke, right! Reality is if like me you don't want to upgrade your head unit, or add an amp then this 30 watt RMS speaker is what you need. Pointless to put a more expensive speaker in that needs a lot more power.
What's the difference between the s and r?
Base model is type E and S and R type x is top model

@@rvajay19 well weirdly enough I never used them in the car I anticipated putting them in.. I put them in my miata instead and they sound pretty good but can’t handle really bassy songs at a high volume.. I’m just gonna pair it with some subs and turn the bass down on them

Every KFC-1666S I have seen have a white woofer cone. Is this even the right speaker? Your title should be KFC1666R?
I think the R model is meant to just replace a blown factory speaker and nothing else.
I have no idea about this speaker but amateurs tests speakers without using speaker box. Without speaker box you can't hear most of important bass frequencies because those frequencies just disappear. All you can hear some medium bass, alto and treeble. So the sound won't be full. Please learn to test with speaker box.

Fuckin a spend $50 + 3 hours of labor to come to realize what the fuck is wrong with this thing. Reviews were good, im just wondering if those people were high as fuck. So disappointed, the stock speakers were better
