No. I would not rejoice to see Harry back undertaking any royal duties. Ever. I think he is foolish, lacks discernment and has zero integrity. That said, I believe him to be wholly unsuited and unfit for any public office let alone an official royal appointment. This opinion is based solely upon my observations and assessment of his conduct.
Obviously, the question of rapprochement with his father and the wider family on a purely private basis is a completely different matter and one that should concern members of family alone.

This past week, while H and his wife where in Whistler, British Columbia, H met with several First Nations Chiefs, in their Communities; and had the audacity to discuss the very delicate matter of "Truth And Reconciliation" with them, as if he were "standing in" for King Charles, the UK Parliamentary Privy Council, or the Prime Minister of Canada!!! As A Canadian, I was very upset to learn this information. H has neither the PERMISSION nor the background KNOWLEDGE to interfere in ANY WAY with this matter. There are numerous Constitutional Lawyers, and Scholars,from both sides, Literally ROOMS FULL of Treaties which are currently being reviewed, and King Charles is still studying this situation, in order to resolve many of the issues -- H is FAR out of his DEPTH, and this subject is way above the limits of HIS brain's capability, he may have made COMMENTS, and PROMISES, neither he or nor anyone else are able to fulfill; while he and his wife are strutting around PRETENDING TO BE Royals, in an "Official Capacity". I will be sending out several letters about my concerns about this breech of conduct, and interference in Canadian Politics -- it is for this reason, among SO MANY OTHERS, that their titles NEED to be removed, and that the MEDIA needs to make it CHRYSTAL CLEAR that H does NOT REPRESENT THE MONARCHY, and that Neither H, nor MM have any real AUTHORITY to say: "Boo" to, or about anything!!!
As much as I like the first part of your comment, I must respectfully disagree with the second one. Could there be a purely private basis for that family? Harold and his minder have publicly attacked and insulted many people from the royal household who have not been able (and/or allowed) to defend themselves - they have been called names, they have been ridiculed. Professional careers are damaged and livelyhoods lost. Not to mention psychological damage.
Remember, when Harold said that his Nana is not surrounded by the right people? I felt so sorry for those who remained in the Royal Bubble during COVID, instead of going home to their loved ones... even if the twerp actually tried to sting someone else.

I agree with comments here, no way should Harry be trusted with any affairs of Britain or any Commonwealth country although they must decide for themselves. Families are complex, there will be some residual feelings no doubt but he has shown great disloyalty and one could say cruelty. Harry was the first person I heard decry the British public as racist. Therefore NO I would not like to see him back in this country and doing royal duties.
Of course we don’t want Harry to return to royal duties, we don’t even want him to return to the UK. It’s disturbing to me that he doesn’t even seem to understand the depth of what he did, and thinks he can come waltzing back. There are consequences when there’s this level of betrayal you have to earn trust. Prince William knows his brother better than any of us and is probably not convinced that Harry will not write more books or Megan will write books. Desperate people do desperate things, I don’t know Harry’s mind but he doesn’t even seem contrite or repentant, at times he seems defiant and arrogant.
The Monarchy would no longer exist for me if Harry were to return to the Royal Family in order to take up any duties whatsoever! By all means, make it up with his father, little likelihood that his brother, Prince William, would ever forgive (or forget) how traitorous he has been but no way should he represent the Monarchy or the United Kingdom.

Was that so Harry could make it appear he was told something, but wasn't going to repeat it? The King would never tell Harry anything he had not already told the public.
They always know what they are going to be asked about, they vet all questions and it's a simple yes to that or it's a no, and yes we need some journalists or presenter to have the balls to slip in the questions that they said no to. And push them on them. , not back down to Henry and Rachel

Harry talked about being a dragon slayer but in reality, Prince William is the dragon slayer and Harry and Meghan are the dragons. (Not hyperbole.) Brothers stop speaking over much less than going on Oprah, accusing their family of racism, writing personal experiences and unprovable accusations into a book, saying their marriage was just a cold business arrangement and then not coming to the aid of their wife when their mouthpiece names her as a "royal racist." This is not a "rift". It's an attack from Harry and Meghan and you don't reconcile that. You perhaps call a truce to stop the attacks, but that doesn't mean you bring them into the fold. Harry and his father can reunite on a personal level but the Royals cannot trust Harry anywhere near the firm.

In my American opinion, the King should issue a statement with a strong message making it crystal clear that Harry is not a working royal, has no connection to the monarchy, and does not represent the monarchy in any way. Additionally, they should make it clear that all the appearances and meetings he has which are covered by the press, are in no way connected to the monarchy, and that harry only represents himself, as an individual, or as part of his own private business enterprises totally distinct from amy connection whatsoever with his family, the palace, or the monarchy. This needs to be sent out to every media outlet worldwide.

There is no chance of Henry returning to the Royal Fold. As our late Queen said "you are either in or you are out, you cannot be both". Henry is out in the cold because he simply cannot be trusted. He whines about his own privacy but likes looking at cameras and he seems to take great delight in invading his family's privacy.
I doubt he will ever be forgiven for the way in which he treated his grandparents knowing that they were dying. Let him stay in America, he can renounce his titles and become plain old Mr Sussex.

Reconciliation is only possible if the person, not just apologizes but tries to make amends. But Harry will never take any responsibility for anything he has done. It is always someone else’s fault. And I doubt there are many people who even want reconciliation at this point. Harry destroyed what little goodwill was left with his own words. _Spare_ revealed that his happy-go-lucky persona was just a mask and that he has been a spoiled jerk his whole life.
But even if a miracle occurred and he truly repented, there’s one person hurt, possibly more deeply than anyone else, that he can never make whole-the late Queen. He can’t take back refusing to visit her or taking her private nickname without her permission and just making her last few years miserable. I don’t think the British public will ever forgive him for that.

Being a working member of the RF, means hard work not an hour a week
Considering the private information Harry gave out about Prince William, his repeating a private conversation about the color of the baby’s skin, private information concerning previous girlfriends and the disrespect of wives and on and on, it is my opinion Harry does not understand boundaries. I also believe the lack of trust, lack of boundaries, and lack of discernment of consequences to his actions and remarks could make him quite dangerous to the country and those with whom Harry engages. Besides the weather, there are few subjects that could be discussed in front of Harry (who passes it on to Meghan or writes it in a book). It is sad, but the “old” Harry could still be loved and missed but the “new” Harry cannot be trusted. (All my opinion and allegedly)

I think harry wants to get his feet back under the table before his Dad's passing. He wants inheritance from his Dad's estate. As he knows he will get no help from William, once he becomes King.

No, Harry Is NOT coming back for Royal Duties, because William said he won’t have Harry back. Rightly so. The royal family has already taken things in hand and cut back on planned events by about 30% (I cannot remember the exact amount) and are awarding titles to Two of King Charles' nieces and nephews....paving the way forward for William. Every Royal visit H&M made ended in disaster where the Queen had to send someone behind to clean up the mess, pay hush money, make apologies...AU (huge mess and big payoff), Fiji (a big mess and many very upset people), Africa (so many apologies, money pay off)......why would you want MORE trouble and spending of money to clean up after them?

There a huge difference between the reconciliation of a son and his father…in that respect, it’s entirely up to the Royal Family to decide upon…but I really don’t think that either of those two coming back here to undertake any form of Royal Duties would be appropriate, especially considering the bashing that they have given to the UK (as a whole) but also the way of how they treated the Late Queen and Prince Phillip, and their subsequent attacks on the Prince and Princess of Wales.
I believe it’s to late to start over. To to much false allegations that have been disproven, the damage to his family, his behavior needs to be addressed and dealt with properly. I do think that Harry and Meghan Markle could have done very well for the Royals and for country and Commonwealth. They started will and were popular. However, they decided to traduce family, country and commonwealth for money and attention. There is no way back from that. One might forgive a relative for deliberately breaking a treasured artifact; it would make no difference to the thing that was broken. There can be no trust ever again. It is regrettable but two adults did what they chose to do and have even said that they felt it was their duty. What Harry did was despicable, he used our indigenous people and our issues for PR and that is NOT on them. Perhaps they might not have known about his affiliation with the African Parks scandal which, imo, speaks volumes about his sincerity and integrity. Although he's still listed on the royal website, he is not the King's representative here. The honorable Mary Simon fills that role currently. I would never expect or accept Harry's help if I was indigenous (I am) - just look at how he helped the Baka people. All talk, no action, and pass the buck. Plus the rumor is he wants to be a Viceroy (of Canada? - won't happen) which reeks of colonialism. In the US, they can call themselves whatever they want. BUT . . . unless they appear before a judge with all pertinent legal paperwork *who approves the name usage* , those names are not legal and cannot be used when legal names are required.
They will always be family but his latest interview on the US TV channel idicates to me that he has no inclination to come back for more than visits to his lawyers and the courts squeezing in a visit to the old man if time allows. He says he is happy every day with his own family and environment - in Montecito. I suspect - opinion only..... that he has given up on his birth family maybe because they wouldn't do what he wanted. He probably won't care if he continues to pile on the trash and cause difficulty for his blood family maybe because he thinks they deserve it. His blood family are no doubt aware of this and so any meaningful trusting relationship has sailed off into the far distance. Additionally I think it reasonable that his blood family feel deeply hurt and betrayed. And in all reality, there is no wayany of this could be changed.
