Diana was the same. That's why fashion models are models. I'm 5'10" and about 135 lbs and my mom always said you look good no matter what you wear. At 17-18, you feel awkward at that height but learn to grow into it.

Agreed. I'm a few years older than Diana, and felt many of her choices early on were awful. She became more stylish after her separation from Charles, which I think is about the same time she started working with Ms. Wakeley. Catherine has made better choices from the start, which I attribute to being more mature than Diana when she got married.
honestly the most important aspect of her style is how she tailors every article of clothing to perfection. the difference that good tailoring makes is unreal. hell, it can make a $20 jacket look like $1,000.

A really nice lady called me and told me she was worried because the coat I wanted needed to be made but she did have an exact one Catherine bought and would I like it. The customer service was absolutely amazing. The only time I could think of service in the States was an Hermes store by appointment. Nope, didn’t buy anything there. I would have liked to have heard more about Sophie's lovely style versus Meghan's. Meghan was an American who married a prince and tried to be a working Duchess for about 5 minutes before removing to California to pursue celebrity.
I would say she married a prince and then failed at being a working duchess prior to removing to California, where she has found no more success in Hollywood that she had found previously (which was none). The only thing she has achieved since marriage to Harry is to make him appear as a total clown, with no brain, no backbone and no loyalty to family or country.

I think it lessens Catherine when anyone says she's "paying tribute" or whatever to Diana like Catherine is a mindless Stepford Wife with no style of her own. Agreed. I was very confused when they mentioned something about her being “used to paparazzi” because of her role on Suits. No one had ever heard of that show before she started dating Harry, much less had they heard of her. No one wanted to pay money for a picture of Meghan in her acting days.
I believe what you're saying is true, but her being used to red carpets and the papps is the sort of things that Harry and his wife spruiked when they started dating...along the lines of, she could give the other royal wives tips on how to deal with it, and part of his narrative on how she was dealing with being "royal" better than those born to the role. We all recognise this as total bs now, and some recognised it as an insult to the royals, and particularly Camilla and Catherine at the time.

The hat with the veil, the Diana choker, and her black dress was a huge fashion moment! It was regal and PC owned that moment! I also loved the red carpet moments: the gold sequin dress and the sleek black dress with a white band above her bust line (Tom Cruise offered his hand as she walked up the stairs). Just WOW! PC never misses with her fashion. I love this episode devoted to fashion! Please return to this topic often because PC has so many fashion worthy moments. Her black pant suit look the other day with Prince William was wonderful too! I’d be interested to have a couple male fashion designers come in to discuss PW’s style and offer up suggestions on how he can up his game a bit. In my opinion, PW is looking physically fit and particularly handsome as he hits his 40s. What I love about Queen Camilla’s style is it is chic, tasteful, modern at times, traditional at others, and she chooses colours that are slightly more muted or pastel so she doesn’t outshine her husband. She nailed the trip to France flawlessly.

I loved the royal fashion talk and agree that Catherine is a star, but in the best ways, and Camilla has really captured her uniquely regal style. But - let's put to bed the myth that Meghan "felt restricted" with her colors while in the royal family. She doesn't wear color now. She's still wearing beige, white, black and mud colored outfits. In fact, when she was asked to wear certain colors in order to fit in with family portraits at events like Louis's christening, she refused and wore things that clashed with the agreed colors - so nobody was telling Meghan Markle what colors to wear.

I just think that the clothes wear Meghan whereas Princess Catherine wears the clothes. It’s impossible to compare them because of Princess Catherine’s height advantage but on many occasions she looks better than the catwalk model whereas Meghan looks rather ‘swamped’ on occasions.

Much to my mother's despair, I have never been the least bit interested in fashion, 77 years on I still prefer my jeans and gumboots, but I found this programme today very interesting and like Rebecca I could have sat and listened to Amanda for a second episode. So nice to hear someone explain the quiet diplomacy /pulling power that the Royal family give to British industry I didn't realize the enormity of £ revenue to the clothing industry even though I was brought up if you can't buy New Zealand made products only buy British. As for the tiaras, I am sure they will be out on full show for state occassions in the future. I thought the absence at the Coronation, which I thought was a request by the King, might have been to emphasise the religious signicance of the event and not have it as a fashion show, there was also the possibility that the Duchess of Sussex may have turned up and who would be responsible for deciding which tiara she could wear. No tiaras, no competition, seemed to be Charles' way of diverting a potential drama and kept Queen Camilla to the fore. Catherine in her garter robes was the show stopper for me. I really enjoyed the girls chatting about fashion today! People forget, or never knew, that our late Queen and Princess Margaret were real beauties in their day.
I never followed the royals but became a complete fan after the H&M debacle. I adore Catherine and her genuine behaviour. She truly came into her own in the last few years. I confess, I do also closely watch the Montecito train wreck… it’s hard to look away from this debacle and I honestly want them to get their just due. They brought so much meanness into the game, especially Meghan.

Just to clarify what Amanda Wakeley said about "Meghan going back to her days at the red carpet".... Meghan Markle NEVER was on an Oscar red carpet. She was never Hollywood, unlike her father who was.. She was a cable actress for a series shot in Canada where she played a supporting role and which the producers wrote her character off, so she started to look for someone rich to marry.

The Dior navy dress and cape she worn in France was beautiful. The picture of her with her hair blowing in the wind was fantastic. The jewels were exactly the right finishing touch !

Diana was the same. That's why fashion models are models. I'm 5'10" and about 135 lbs and my mom always said you look good no matter what you wear. At 17-18, you feel awkward at that height but learn to grow into it.

A really nice lady called me and told me she was worried because the coat I wanted needed to be made but she did have an exact one Catherine bought and would I like it. The customer service was absolutely amazing. The only time I could think of service in the States was an Hermes store by appointment. Nope, didn’t buy anything there. Emmy London has fabulous service too. Capitalism is a beautiful thing. You go where you are treated well.

I’d be interested to have a couple male fashion designers come in to discuss PW’s style and offer up suggestions on how he can up his game a bit. In my opinion, PW is looking physically fit and particularly handsome as he hits his 40s. He seems to be owning this stage of his life and, dare I say, he’s looking sexy!😉 So fashion advice on suit tailoring and fashion suggestions to compliment his role as Prince of Wales and remain unfussy, but more polished would be a fun focus. She is a highly educated person who graduated with honors from one of the most prestigious universities in the UK - St. Andrews University is close to the same status as Oxford and Cambridge. I noticed the effervescent and free way the conversation was going when the topic was Diana and Princess Catherine. Then suddenly when Harrys wife was mentioned the conversation got more guarded and a lot more was said if you read between the lines. Even the body language of the two guests changed. I agree about the comparisons with Diana. If wearing the same colour outfit as Diana once did is a tribute, how can anything not be a tribute? There are only so many colours and shapes of clothing so resemblance is inevitable. And, Catherine is clearly not seeking the kind of attention Diana craved and sought. I think that distinction is important.

I loved the royal fashion talk and agree that Catherine is a star, but in the best ways, and Camilla has really captured her uniquely regal style. But - let's put to bed the myth that Meghan "felt restricted" with her colors while in the royal family. She doesn't wear color now. She's still wearing beige, white, black and mud colored outfits. In fact, when she was asked to wear certain colors in order to fit in with family portraits at events like Louis's christening, she refused and wore things that clashed with the agreed colors - so nobody was telling Meghan Markle what colors to wear.
Camilla’s dresses mostly have the same cut but different fabrics and colours. Quite boring and ageing.

I just think that the clothes wear Meghan whereas Princess Catherine wears the clothes. It’s impossible to compare them because of Princess Catherine’s height advantage but on many occasions she looks better than the catwalk model whereas Meghan looks rather ‘swamped’ on occasions.
Agree, Catherine also is athletic with a waist and shapely legs.
It was nice to discuss the royals and their wardrobes but let’s not forget our own Rebecca! She looked lovely today and I have to mention how great her heels were. Much to my mother's despair, I have never been the least bit interested in fashion, 77 years on I still prefer my jeans and gumboots, but I found this programme today very interesting and like Rebecca I could have sat and listened to Amanda for a second episode.
So nice to hear someone explain the quiet diplomacy /pulling power that the Royal family give to British industry I didn't realize the enormity of £ revenue to the clothing industry even though I was brought up if you can't buy New Zealand made products only buy British. As for the tiaras, I am sure they will be out on full show for state occassions in the future. I thought the absence at the Coronation, which I thought was a request by the King, might have been to emphasise the religious signicance of the event and not have it as a fashion show, there was also the possibility that the Duchess of Sussex may have turned up and who would be responsible for deciding which tiara she could wear. No tiaras, no competition, seemed to be Charles' way of diverting a potential drama and kept Queen Camilla to the fore.
Catherine in her garter robes was the show stopper for me.

I really enjoyed the girls chatting about fashion today! People forget, or never knew, that our late Queen and Princess Margaret were real beauties in their day.
I never followed the royals but became a complete fan after the H&M debacle. I adore Catherine and her genuine behaviour. She truly came into her own in the last few years. I confess, I do also closely watch the Montecito train wreck… it’s hard to look away from this debacle and I honestly want them to get their just due. They brought so much meanness into the game, especially Meghan.
Great video today. Almost totally about the TRUE royals - Queen Elizabeth, Diana, Catherine and Camilla (with, sadly, a small mention of that horrible Markle woman) and their beautiful appearances in every situation. True elegance!
Just to clarify what Amanda Wakeley said about "Meghan going back to her days at the red carpet".... Meghan Markle NEVER was on an Oscar red carpet. She was never Hollywood, unlike her father who was.. She was a cable actress for a series shot in Canada where she played a supporting role and which the producers wrote her character off, so she started to look for someone rich to marry.

Since the Scottish "coronation", Queen Camilla has emerged as a fashion icon. Her outfits are fabulous starting with the green and plaid suit. They are age appropriate and fashionable. Kudos to the Queen Consort!!!
The Dior navy dress and cape she worn in France was beautiful. The picture of her with her hair blowing in the wind was fantastic. The jewels were exactly the right finishing touch !
