    as a coles cashier, i have some tips
    1. go at night, we're bored, we'll strike up a conversation plus a lot of the staff will be friendlier
    2. sort your cold stuff into one spot preferably at the front it just makes it easier for us and quicker for you
    3. bbq chickens get cheaper the later it gets (i scored a $3 after my shift once)
    4. oh my god please use your flybuys i cant imagine how many points you have

      If they came within the last hour of closing, NO ONE would be friendlier than normal. We would fucking hate it. There's only two people working at that time, and we'd want to kill them haha. We aren't bored at night, we have so much to do to close the store!
      Yes sort the colds it's so much better for everyone involved, even sort jars and heavy things from the biscuits etc.

    • @SebbyLouise
      @SebbyLouise 5 років тому +46

      YES FLYBUYS! Flybuys deals are fucking awesome and of used right can save so much. I do a $120 shop but split it between Coles and woolies so I’m currently getting 10,000 points for spending $60 over 4 weeks at Coles which is only half my shop

      @ "horror" is a bit rough - imagine what it's like to have this many people in your life that you can trust, that love you, support you, can help you, talk to you, laugh together, they 'have your back always' and encourage you - it's an amazing blessing. And one that I wish most people could experience.

    I myself really appreciate seeing this video. I wish people would not judge so harshly without knowing anything about your family. This is a true to life shopping haul, not some fake nutritious haul to make viewers feel good and not make rude comments. I so enjoy seeing how mature and caring your daughter is. That shows you have standards and are raising amazing children. You can honestly tell how much she loves you. Its the small things in life that matter. God bless you and your precious family! Thank you again for tolerating the rude, nasty, condescending behind the keyboard big mouths. You're a wonderful mother and it shows in the respect your daughter gives to you.

    • @amber_Forever16
      @amber_Forever16 3 роки тому +1

      while people shouldn’t be so rude they really should take a second look at their food choices because a few snacks is ok but that’s all they were buying and that’s very bad for growing kids and causes many health problems! If you followed me into the store without me knowing you would see me buying one snack food with sugar in it and the rest fruit! I have 6 kids and I’m not a stuck up super nutritious freak but I am concerned about what my kids eat and try to keep the processed food down to a bare minimum, all the hot dogs and “chicken patties” and packaged food but hardly no fruits and vegetables compared to all the junk. It looked like they got 10X more junk food than nutritious food. I just don’t get how someone can knowingly feed their children all that crap!

    • @theMerryMonarch
      @theMerryMonarch 3 роки тому +4

      @@amber_Forever16 OK, she answered this in a video but I thought you.might not have seen it so I'll tell you about it. This is a stock up haul, not a weekly haul or whatever you were thinking. So, like, those aren't hotdogs, they're beef sausages. As in bratwurst. When they eat that, they eat one per person, so they use 18 and freeze the rest for other meals. When they eat chocolate, they eat it once a week and only four squares of chocolate per person and freeze the rest for later. When eating biscuits, they eat two biscuits each and save the rest. And so on. They aren't munching on cookies everyday, all day, they have small portions of it. It just looks like a lot because they stock up on it.
      If you go on their chanbel you'll see a vegetable haul. They buy vegetables at a specialty shop, like a farmer's market. They also have a few videos with their actual meals in it and you can see that they do eat lots of vegetables and small portions. I know, because you see this all at once, it looks like they eat a bunch of junk all the time but it doesn't seem to be the truth at all.

    16:04 Here in Bermuda I’ll spend $250-280 for about 3 days of food for 3 people. And that’s carefully selecting organic s fruits and Veges. Whole grains and meats. We eat mainly Whole Foods. I wish prices were cheaper. And I’ve noticed an increase lately. I’m from the states and comparing NY to Bermuda it’s probably about triple to quadruple the price. Example fish can run 28.99 a lb. I know a lot of people eat a lot of frozen stuff cause it’s just so much cheaper. Sad that it’s comes to that for a lot of families. I’ll buy a whole chicken to make for dinner that whole chicken costs around 24-27 depending on the weight.

    At Coles/Woolies you can buy big 2 litre bottles of tomato and bbq sauce for much cheaper than buying individual master foods bottles of tomato and bbq sauce. And a lot of grocery stores have "self checkout", so you swipe your membership card or id when you go in, grab a scanner and a cart and start shopping. Then you just swipe your card again on the way out and pay for your stuff. No cashier involved except for a few "random" checks.

Hopefully the wages are higher too so you can afford it lol if not a person would really struggle specially with a big family . Yikes . 10.50 for a thing of chicken patties wow yeah I’d raise my own chickens if I lived there . Which is what I do here in the US we have our own chickens and turkeys and stuff but we do buy some things from the store too but I wouldn’t pay for it if it was that high .Yikes . I’m one of 6 kids in Australia and we usually get food from charities because we try to save every cent and we tend to stick to more plant based diets such as straight up fruit and veg and that’s usually what we have and will have a few meat products once a month and a treat once a week.

    • @TheBonellFamily
      @TheBonellFamily  5 років тому

      We dont eat food from charities because we believe that that food is for those really struggling and since we all work, we do ok and can support ourselves. In fact we often contribute what we can to help those in need. We also eat an abundance of fresh fruit and veg here in our household, there are other videos that show those hauls. And all our treats and snacks get frozen and used sparingly over the next month or two

Love these shoppers because they usually always have their shopping organised (colds, meats, fruit, heavys and smellys) I usually clear them in under 5mins 😂 don’t get much of a chat with that but it’s good to get them out quickly as some other customers get mad that they are behind big shoppers 😂 my big shoppers usually don’t do flybuys or our promotions because they hate holding people up, I just loudly say “it’s fine take your time, the other customers can wait” cause I wanna make sure they get those points 😱 sooooo many points and stickers (promotion) with those shops!!

    In australia coupon shopping doesn't really exist. We basically get weekly special catalogue adds from the 4 main food shops . Coles, Woolworth, Aldi, I ga, specials regular cycle per month between the stores of similar items. Fruit & veg is seasonal & usually cheaper at markets . Use buy dates are a big thing to look for as hot weather & distance can affect shelf life. The average family spends up to $200 aus a week on groceries. Prices have fluctuated alot in the last 5 years.

    i don’t understand why people are complaining about the food she has brought or the money she could save or the amount of kids she has. 1. having 18 mouths to feed is expensive so things like sausages are an amazing way to save $$$ on meals as they can be used multiple ways & also what does it matter what the eat, you aren’t eating it so what’s the issue🤷🏻‍♀️ Aldi isn’t always cheaper & coles you can get some great discounts or fly buy points which are amazing for end of year purchase as like christmas etc. AND 3. what does it matter how many kids they have, they look damn happy and loving.
    People are so quick to judge any little thing

      Mieke Fairhurst oz for oz (or kg for kg? I’m in the states) the packaging that covers bulk goods isn’t much more than the packaging for standard portions. Buying in bulk without individual serving packages could actually save a lot of waste even for smaller families

    I'm the youngest of 3 here in America. But growing up, we had a lot of ppl living with us. My cousins, parents friends etc. This is how my mom would shop. The only thing she didnt buy milk in bulk. She'd buy 2- 1 gallon per week.I was the milk bandit. Always drank it. Lol Unfortunately, I have not been blessed with children. Love this! Brings back childhood memories.
