I think part of the reason it’s interesting watching other people’s grocery hauls is that we don’t often think about how/what other people eat and it can turn out to be quite different than what we do. That can give us ideas but also the courage to try something new! Another great video, thanks - and looking forward to the planning video although it will be sort of a “debrief” this time!

Wow! Can’t imagine spending that much money. Years ago, raising my kids I only had about $60.00 a week to feed us. We bought by quantity. I worked at a grocery store so that helped. We all do the best we can. I was never the accomplished cook you are. All respect to you!😊

Those foaming hand wash bottles can be reused. I like them for dish washing liquid, but you need to really dilute the concentrated liquid a lot. My preference is Dawn, but any concentrate with a degreaser quality would work. When I have a pan that is greasy or has stuck on food, I take a huge handful of the foam and wipe it on the problem areas, sort of like shaving cream and let it sit. It also works best when the pot is still warm. By the time dinner is done it's so much easier to clean. It also works well for greasy hands.

ok did you buy a smoker? i know you were talking about it and we all know that it will help with the going keto. also i must admit i expected there to be more meat and it to cost a lot more this shop with you going keto, but you have always done smaller meat quantities then most people i see do. also the cost of food has just gotten so high lately certainly for whole ingredients like you can do cheap processed to some extent still but for real foods like meat and vegetables it just feels like it is always getting higher.

Bunnings was completely out of stock :s I’m hoping to find another one I’m happy with, D has to go to Toowoomba this week for a kids appt so I’m trying to organise something!
I’m not sure if there will be enough meat. There is more than I normally buy, but we’ll have to see how it goes. It was hard to fathom how much we’d go through, so there might be a top up required, I’ll have to play it by ear! I was a bit thrown that the overall cost was less even with the extra meat, so I kinda feel like something will be lacking somewhere!

@@OurSmallFootprint ok i honestly think you will definitely need more meat, we do low carb because two of the people in our house are diabetic so we have a specific number of carbs we have to stay under. also you didn't buy rice at all this time and I am wondering if that is going to be a problem for the children. I am not criticizing i am just wondering because i know when we changed our buying to accommodate the diabetics if was a mess the first few months. we are a family of 6 2 children 4 adults because my parents live with us and some months i swear my grocery shop looks like i only buy snake foods but it's because i get lucky with what food we harvested in those months so we don't need real foods as much those months.

@@craftedbykittens we have rice left :). I bought two half price bags last month :) and I bought a couple of bags of Arborio this month to top up the storage, we had a bunch of pasta left too.
We end up with about 1.8-2kg of meat per day availability which is 500-700g extra per day to my normal calculations plus I’ve still got meat left in the freezer and we have a large quantity of eggs avail. So we’ll see how we go :)

Not a big fan of mangoes from the Northern Territory, had one last week. Not much flavour to them. $20 a box is very good at this time of year.

I had one today and it wasn’t ‘great’ but they’ll freeze well for icecream and smoothies for the kids and hopefully I get some really good ones next trip!

Inlike shopping, to a degree. I hate pushy customers and tude customers. Otherwise, I kind of find it zen like.

I don't buy name brand cereal generally, just the aldi version of rice bubbles and wheat bix, but they were all out of rice bubbles, which was odd, so I just grabbed them the cheerios as a treat, but I'll have a look at their pricing! :) Thank you :)
