This is a great idea, especially for me as I live in Australia and when I’m watching videos with overseas groceries I find it hard to find the right ingredients and for the right prices. I don’t have a large family but I bulk cook to freeze meals for after school and nights when I’m working late. Thanks so much.
Jodi Crouch Hey Jodi, I’m from Australia and still a bit new with filming my own videos but just thought I’ll comment and let you know as I too much prefer to watch Australian cooking channels/videos just so much easier since our ingredients can sometimes be so different to other countries! ☺️
Me too girls, i have 2 children at home, but did have 6 for a lot of years. I love the Aussie girls giving this a go. Well done.
Damn that's awesome was sitting here watching with my partner and not realising Coles had such a great affordable range!! I was also thinking this recipe (minus the pasta) would make a.perfect chicken pie!!! It's also great seeing An Australian channel with brands that we can get!! Can't wait for the next one. Pls keep up the awesome content
Thanks for joining us and thanks for the encouragement. :-)
From Melbourne, It is always a good idea to look on the bottom shelf for cheaper items. Also, I find at aldi I can get some organic things like pastas and sauces cheaper than what I would find for the brand names at Woolies or Coles.
Smart. But I would most definitely add some seasoning to that chicken!!!
I'm also not a fan of all that jewellery in the food, something is screaming unhygienic.
@@omadjourney she said she cleans her jewelry before prepping food
@@theMerryMonarch really 🙄.
@@omadjourney Yes, she really did say that on the comments of another video.
Her jewelry is not touching the food get a life
I made this meal, but I’m in Florida, US and I don’t think we have the chicken and corn soup. I used cream of chicken soup and I made half the recipe for 6-10 people. It’s just my husband and I so I’m going to have leftovers for awhile. It turned out really yummy. Hubby hasn’t tried it yet, so more for me!
That's awesome. Enjoy!
I couldn't live without a microwave
same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You did that girl!
Omg Prissy P 😍😩
“I have ONE kid that pulls the peas out” has me cackling. ❤️😂
For left overs, I use sandwich size zip lock bags work well for a one person meal. I label it with the date made and what's in it. I scoop food in, then partially zip shut the bag and squeeze as much air out as possible. That way its flatter and takes up less space in my freezer. I also, found buying diced meat expensive, so I buy a good sized roast (beef, pork, chicken, lamb) and cut it up at home (yes, I too, cut it up small) and put what amount I would use for example: soup, curry, casserole's, stir fry, etc... into a labelled zip lock bags and push out as much air as possible to save on freezer space. The meat used in roasts is of better quality than the cheap meat cuts you get in store bought diced meats. Much more tender, I think. I also, check the reduced meat section at the grocery store to save more money. When I buy beef mince, I split up the (approx. 700kg or 900kg) package of mince into four portions in labelled zip lock bags, flatten them with air pushed out. I buy apples cut them up and bag them also to freeze. I freeze bananas for future use in cakes and bread. When I don't have canned soups, I always have cup of soup on hand to use instead (again a space saver). I also, make my own yeast breads by hand, its so easy and yummy. When I make yeast bread, I also, make two large pizzas, one large loaf, and cinnamon rolls in one batch. Almost daily, I make a quick bread, its always American Southern Biscuits (they're like a savoury scone, sort of) so easy, quick and done in 20min. Best warm just baked with margarine/butter, any time of day! Kids love to grab n go with them. I love making tortillas from scratch too, for Mexican wraps night. I too, don't use a microwave either. I live in the UK, have seven children, with now only two teenagers at home.
Yes, I often buy roasts to cut up, it's a cheap way compared to the already prepped meats. ;-) Lots of great tips in your comment. thanks
@@TheBonellFamily Your welcome.
There is something like Brocoli Rice Casserole- Cooked rice, can of cream of mushroom or cream of chicken or cream of asparagus, shredded tasty/sharp cheese, chopped onion, and brocoli florets in small pieces. Mix together and bake. You can add cooked chicken or tinned tuna, cut into small pieces .
This is fantastic and great to see an Australian family in Australia shopping tips. Going to try this for sure thanks.
AWESOME!! WE LOVED IT!
I make this recipe without the tins of soup but with home made white sauce, and I change the chicken for tuna sometimes too
that sounds super yummy
Yes I do the same. White sauce, pasta, tuna, asparagus. Sprinkled with cheese and breadcrumbs too. I call it tuna mornay and my kids love it 😊
Hello how are you doing
Hi Carol 👋 I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….
I'm loving your tips I'm a mum of 7 children aged between 12 and 14 months old I do most of my shopping at Aldi but after watching your channel and seeing all the specials at Coles, I'm going 2 give Coles a go
Good idea! I only have 4 people in my house but they have insane appetites ugh and it can be hard to feed them the day before payday... So i'm always on the lookout for something cheap, easy, healthy (enough lol) and if the stars align - bears leftovers for lunch 🙏
And the fact that ya'll are Australian too really helps get a better gauge of what to get

We love making this but instead changing the chicken to tinned tuna and adding cream of celery instead of the chicken soup! Very yummy
Love this recipe!!!!! I’m always looking for new ways to feed my large family on a budget !
If you put a damp chux or thin cloth under your chopping board, it won't move around as much and be safer to cut food 😊
We own a microwave but don't use it often. I rather heat up food on the stove. It take so much better and it hotter.
How much would that meal cost in today’s prices I wonder
Would be a good video to do for 2023 xx❤️❤️❤️❤️
Coles pasta 65c, corn $1 chicken thighs $4/kg then debone, cheese block $2/250g then grate, smart buy, so it can be cheaper for a little extra work
Ditch the meat and cheese and replace with beans and it's even cheaper. Much cheaper.
Your kids look so adorable.
I don’t own a microwave. Had one years ago and I don’t miss it, food taste better when heated in an oven or toaster oven.
The only thing I got chicken legg quarters for 59 cents 5.90 for 10 pound cook in inta pot 25 minutes then screed it and free in one pound bags
I enjoy different menus I like this one. Thank you
It looks so good !!
Tip!! If you freeze the chicken just a little! It is much easier to cut!!
I also use bacon and onion instead of chicken if you want a cheaper option. I use the Aldi pasta bake sauces instead of the soup. I haven’t tried the bread crumbs thing though, I will try 😊
Looks delicious and easy! Love from Wisconsin, USA!
You guys eat so less! We're a family of 4 and would probably finish that plate in a day or maybe 2 😂😂
I want to see more videos like this!
You should do a house tour ❤️❤️❤️
Socially Awkward Fangurrl I second this! So interested to see haha! 😋
I made this today with bacon added and it is delicious. I will be making it again. Thanks Bonell family. Love your videos.
Awesome
Yes would lobe videos that you make meals for 18 people. God bless your family
I also use tuna with this dish. Hafa Adai from Guam 🏝️ USA.
Your meal looks so good. And I see the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree your children are so cute. My husband and I are the only two left home now, and I just can’t downsize. Still make meals for 6, with leftovers lol best wishes from Green Bay wi, home of the Green Bay packers 🇺🇸👵🤗❤️
I'll probably do that too hahaha, can't imagine not cooking for a crowd
Thank you Jen. Something I will have to try
I just started watching your channel and loving your family! I’m a new subscriber from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories Canada 🇨🇦. I’ve started binge watching 😁😁 Loving 🥰 the ones I’ve watched. I grew up in a small town in Newfoundland in what I thought was a large family, 9 including parents, but not so large after watching yours!😁😁 Oh and we only had on bathroom too👍😁🇨🇦
As a mum of six boys (4, 8 , 13, 14, 17 and 19), I will definitely be trying this recipe. Thanks for sharing
Guess what we’re having for dinner tonight? 😆 We are a vegan family though, so I think we’ll swap out a few ingredients. Great idea for a cheap and simple meal. Thank you so much for sharing! Xo
I would love to see more videos I do not have any oven
I'm going to give this a try :) looks yummy 🤤 I make a really good chicken bake chicken breast cut up cooked layer that on the bottom cream of mushroom soup mixed into the chicken.. Layer it with Swiss cheese and mozzarella cheese then top it with stuffing put foil on it bake it about 350 until the cheese is nice and melted in the stuffing is cooked up serve along with some rice and some cranbury sauce it tastes like Thanksgiving on one plate! This is a houseful favorite around here
Both my children love pasta bake so I will try this recipe for them,I can’t believe how expensive meat is in your country compared to here in England x
Fantastic. What a great budget meal. I would certainly appreciate more ideas like this. Thanks so much, trying to stay within budget and this helps.
I would love to be able to do this. Buttttt I can’t bring myself to buy non Australian products, I try to support farmers and Australian made as much as I can
Some of the cheaper brands are australian made , however like most people you have to budget and I do buy cheaper food to help my money stretch xxx
Jennifer Collins yer I very rarely, if ever buy supermarket brand foods, if I could I’d never shop at big name shops. I always try to support Australia first if possible, and also have to buy gluten free, lactose free, and so many other food restrictions, so supermarket brands rarely works for my family anyway, and I have to cook a lot from scratch.
Same!!
That’s dumb
@@ethanjansevanvuuren9751 Our struggling farmers don't think so
Thank you for shares its help me how to budgets of spending money on food.
Also proud chick in chelsea heights is amazing, they supply tasman meats, and are cheaper. They have red meat and everything else too, but fillets are $5.99 a kilo
Awesome content can’t wait to see more !!
Great recipe and I will definitely have to try it out for myself and one son happily living at home now. 👍🏻👍🏻💜🤗❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👵🏼
It looks good, it looks like a chicken and vegetable pie pt into a pasta. Yum
great cooking good job thanks for sharing
Thanks a lot I am new at your channel ,Regard from Malta Europe.
Love this meal. ❤️ this would cost me more in NZ though. For example pasta would be 95 c each, mixed vege $2.19 the cheapest, cheese would be more expensive and def the chicken also. Tinned soups I don't buy as they are too expensive, but you could make a yummy white cheese sauce and add homemade chicken broth for flavour and avoid buying tinned soups. We have six children here and many heaven babies 😢and have learned to cook healthy and economically over the years. Keep up the great job 😀😀
It's so interesting to see the price differences between different countries.
So sad to hear of your losses. We too have angel babies. Big hugs.
Love the idea of the white sauce!
Thank you 😀
Hey Lady!! This was a great video! Good ideas! I am only a family of ten ( as you know) and I think feeding mine for half that sounds amazing!!! Great ideas!
Would love more recipes
That looks yummy ! I should definitely try this one day. Love watching your videos 💛 Love and blessings xx
I would pick the peas out, too.
hahahahaha
I was just looking for easy to make cheap bulk meals for the freezer for my partner and I! We are farmers

First time watching you.....very pleased!

Cute family. That looks yummy 😋 too.
Love this....but this would only feed 10 people not 20!! I have 8 kids and this is what I would cook for dinner with no leftovers. Add a big salad and it could stretch to 20.....
I guess it all depends on portion/serving size. We find what we serve very sufficient to satisfy our appetites :-)
I love pasta bakes
Here where I live in America I can find a chicken and corn chowder, which I think is similar to the soup you bought. I've made something similar but with tuna and I just always called it tuna noodle casserole. It's super yummy. I'm a new subscriber and look forward to more ! I have 4 children at home still out if 6 (all teens!) and they sure can eat!
Ain’t that the truth!!!
The older they get, the more they eat 😉
This looks really good! I wish we had chicken and corn condensed soup in America! You guys have such yummy looking food. I'm jealous!
Of course we do, it's just called chicken and corn chowder soup it's at Walmart
Yes we do.. Chicken and Corn Chowder
I just subscribed to your channel. Loving your videos!
looks delicious!
Wouldn’t it be easier to shred the chicken rather than dice it? I always find it easier to shred it into smaller pieces than dicing. And it feels less “cheap” when chicken is shredded, not cut into tiny pieces
Either way would be fine. It's the same chicken, same taste just cut up a different way
Yes, more videos like this, please!
Hi I am new to your channel I live in New Jersey nice to meet you thanks for sharing

You’re too sweet 🥺 omg I love you guys
I love your channel my son is a funny eater he will eat what he fancies he was never like that but with him having bronchitis and lost loads of weight he will perhaps have toasties one night for a meal at a full meal the next night. I don't mind at least he's having something to eat I perhaps do a shaphards pie and portion what's left over into 3 portions for when j want an easy tea I saw your sausage recipes and our sausages are half the size of your sausages but we do have thin link sausages and thick pork Lincolnshire sausage and an other type of sausage I love a thick pork sausage but you've gave me some ideas what to make with sausage so thank you love fran xxxx
We do one similar but tuna, cream and vegetable soup mix.
Such great tips! Thank you!
Looks delicious! Great job
Great prices

Hello, just found your video and the chicken bake look fabulous. I only have 2 boys 1 daughter in law, & one awesomely handsome grandson. And I am saving your recipe so I can fix it for them and thank you for your videos. I think I have to binge watch. Again thank you and God bless.

@@TheBonellFamily I'm sure they will. Thanks again
I would do this with a whole chicken put in the pressure cooker, when they go on sale for $3.90kg. Just watching all your old videos.
I love these videos, have you ever watched fun cheap or free? Jordan page has a bunch of recipes and tips for large families. I don't have one but I love watching!!
