@@dHuntersReviews if you're aware then you shouldn't have said it, go tey to dons sups loose, you can't. You have to buy the set and it's at least $100.
What do you mean I shouldn’t have said it, the figure cost about $30 initially because the two pack was $60. To get the figure by himself it would be over $50 now. What is wrong with saying that? My whole point was to take into consideration the price difference between the two companies.
@@dHuntersReviews because it gives the impression that you can actually get the figure loose and you can't. If you want it, you have to buy the box for $100+. Also, it's not an accurate comparison, neca is a niche toy maker. McFarland is supposed to be a mainstream, retail maker.
Great review! Love the multiple comparison shots. I guess we just have to accept that we're going to start anew with our collection though I would still keep my DCUC figures. 🍻
I just happen to found that the parts covering the shoulder gap is mostly installed in reverse for this superman 1000. That's why it looks quite weird. But they did change the installation of the shoulder parts in the 2 pack version making it looking way better. So you can try to remove the hand and take out the shoulder parts and flip them and put it back again. Once this is done the shoulder of superman will look wider and flush.
Man.. that Harley's scale really upsets me. As for the varied styles, its basically like Legends comic version and MCU versions. They aren't meant to go together, but are often in waves together.
But the differences, they can be displayed together and are in the same style and scale for the most part, these guys are in a totally different style.
@@dHuntersReviews meh, that is debatable. MCU figures tend to be smaller and more detailed than the comic styled ones. I would not display them together. I actually stay away from most MCU figures specifically because I wouldn't display them with the others. With the DC figures, the styles are vastly different because the Bruce Timm style is so highly stylized compared to the comics. The problem I have is that even within the same style, the figures don't go together. Harley being taller than Batman? Its like they aren't trying to make a cohesive line, but are trying to make individual figures based on specific art. But they aren't even being accurate to the art! I will cherry pick individual figures of character designs I like, but I can't see how someone could collect this full line and display them together. Too many styles in one line.
I will try to have a review of Harley Quinn up by tomorrow evening, you make some valid points, but I still find enjoyment in this line in fact quite a bit. I really do not believe the Marvel cinematic universe figures are smaller than the other marvel legends, but I could be wrong, I have several of both and some are taller and some are shorter.
Yeah that Harley is DEFINTLEY the worst of the 1st wave. What the hell were they thinking? The face is also off and looks way more animated series than the Comic Version its supposed to be.
Good review man. It looks like a nice figure, I dont understand the hatred that this figure is getting from some people. I know that its based on Action 1K, but Im hoping that they later release a classic Superman specifically based on the Bronze Age art of Curt Swan or Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez. Thats my ideal comic book Superman.
Thank you for doing all of the comparisons and showing your vast Superman collection. I'm sure that took some time. I think this McFarlane Action Comics 1,000 is really the best one or top 3.
Agreed Neca Superman and action comics Superman are my favorites Shout out to Mattel dc universe classics also I hear the dc essentials Superman is nice, but I don’t have him
Thanks! What were these running for? I saw an interview that Todd said that depending on what people buy will determine what direction they go towards in the future. I like how they are making figures trying to be comic book accurate. Giving other options too looks like they will listen to the consumers/fans.
Honestly, my only real gripe on this (and the Batman) is that the legs look proportionally small compared to the torsos and arms. We put a little mass in their quads and calves and I'm in!
I prefer the Mcfarlane Superman. The head sculpt is nicer, the logo on his chest is bigger like it should be, and he's not as jacked or overly detailed like the Neca version.
I have a ton of 7 inch figures, and a ton of six and 6.5 inch figures. I’m happy that this will scale up with DC collectibles and they will both be making seven figures that will scale up with each other.
I'm a massive Superman / DC fan and I'm a massive fan of MOST Mcfarlane Toys figures so when I heard Matal was losing the licence to them I was stoked since I despise the old DCM by Matal. Needless to say these new DCM have surpassed my expectations. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the shitty scaling but I'm overlooking it due to the fact that the product itself is simply amazing. Finally a good DC line I can collect! There's are better then their rival... Marvel Legends... This Superman was the one I wanted the most and of course it was the one I couldn't find.. Anatomically speaking. It's not anatomically accurate. Even though considering that it's a fictional character, something is very wrong with superman's body here.
@@dHuntersReviews I kno all the other figures were the same price, next time I go back I am going to get Batman figure. RRP should of been $15.99, but reduced to $10. Absolute bargain.
Yeah, really confused why they gave almost all of the figures double jointed elbows, but not this Superman. I don't think any of the animated figures have it either. Batman had no extra hands, Superman had single jointed elbows. Something to complain about for each figure lol
I can see why you might say the ab crunch looks bad, but I think the figures are pretty good. At least Batman & Superman. Sure, I can point out several things that should've been done differently, but they are pretty good imo.
Pass. The knee bend looks awful like a broken Tibia coming out , doesn't front kick well, wrists are ugly, only face sculpt and S are nice. If you want a great Superman. Buy Neca Superman or DC Collectibles Superman
I agree, the Neca one is better. But don’t forget that it cost more. The McFarlane one does have its flaws, but I think you were being a little bit harsh. That head articulation doesn’t look like you can get a proper flight pose out of it... bummer. Nice review, though.
Yeah, I wish he’d up a tad further.
Wrist ball joints should have been done in flesh tone.
I said the same thing in the video.
Anatomically speaking. It's not anatomically accurate. Even though considering that it's a fictional character, something is very wrong with superman's body here.
I think his lower half is a little bit smaller than his top half.
Only ones I could find in any store were Batman and Batman tas and they both had terrible paint apps
The store I went to had 3 of each of those. That’s exactly what I left behind. I think they had an extra STAS Superman extra as well.
Has anyone else noticed TAS Batman is inaccurate?
Yes, I talk about it in my review, and many people have commented about it as well.
No bicep swivel???
figure reveiws 411 there is
He has a bicep cut, somehow I skipped over that.
He has a bicep cut, somehow I skipped over that.
Great video,
Thank you sir!
I just subscribed to your channel
Thanks
Great job
Thank you!
the best superman from mcf for me, looks like Christopher reeve
Definitely has a Christopher Reeve vibe to it. It's my favorite Superman from him as well.
I got this figure yeasterday for £10 it is absolutely amazing.
How much is that in US dollars? It’s a great superman figure, one of the best
@@dHuntersReviews yhh it’s a great figure absolutely amazing in US dollars it’s $10.00 ten pounds.
That’s crazy cheap
@@dHuntersReviews I kno all the other figures were the same price, next time I go back I am going to get Batman figure. RRP should of been $15.99, but reduced to $10. Absolute bargain.
They are suggested retail at $19.99
McFarlane is the better superman
I think Neca is better, but McFarlane is better than Mattel or DC Collectibles.
I feel like they are growing on me
It has some issues but overall am happy with this Man of Steel !!!
Agreed 100%.
That’s a cool figure
Yeah, I think he's pretty decent.
You've convinced me to hunt this guy down this weekend, if possible.
Go get it...and Batman!
Not going to lie ... I'm tempted ....
Get it, I think you’ll like him!
I took that animated John Stewart back to Walmart. That thing is trash.
BodyDouble Security in what way?
@@thescarletandgrey2505 it doesn't articulate right and he's permanently hunched over.
He is my least favorite of all of them. I will do the review on him last. Haven't really handled him much yet.
McFarlane figures will get better with the accessories and figures
I imagine so, but this is still an excellent value for under $20.
dHunter's Reviews being new with the license there’s clearly a few production/design to work out. For that price I’d still like three pairs of hands
I think they are off to a fantastic start.
dHunter's Reviews same
Harley is an animated figure.
No she is not, she is from Harley Quinn #15 from 2002.
So when u get Superman, YOU'RE GONNA GET THESE HANDS
LOL
Nice
You went a little overboard with the comparisons.
That's what I do, lol
Goddamn single jointed elbows!!!
Yeah, really confused why they gave almost all of the figures double jointed elbows, but not this Superman. I don't think any of the animated figures have it either. Batman had no extra hands, Superman had single jointed elbows. Something to complain about for each figure lol
@@dHuntersReviews
Well they gave Almight single jointed elbows as well. Just Google McFarlands Almight.
I'm hoping the live action figures use face printing. SWBS has ruined painted realistic faces for me.
We shall see. I’m haven’t seen Arrow in person yet.
MCFARLANE SUPERMAN HAS BETTER S ON CHEST AND TRUNKS DESIGN .DARE I EVEN SAY BETTER FACE SCAN?
I don’t think it is a face scan as it is not based off a real person. But it is a better face sculpt and overall design.
None of these figures look good. That ab articulation cut is terrible.
I can see why you might say the ab crunch looks bad, but I think the figures are pretty good. At least Batman & Superman. Sure, I can point out several things that should've been done differently, but they are pretty good imo.
i like him ,his legs seem to be skinny
Yeah, could use a little but more muscles sculpted on the leg. Not as much as Neca though.
His legs look a little scrawny to me compared to his upper body.
Slightly
Superman skips leg day.
I've seen that complaint a lot. He could use a little bit more muscles sculpted on his legs. Not as much as Neca though.
This is a pass for me. Not feeling it at all.
He's probably the best of the 6 I have so far.
Superman has chicken legs for sure 😂😂😂😂
They could use a little bit more muscles, but not as much as Neca’s.
Good
Indeed.
Don’t get me wrong, I can mention several things that would improve the figure. I think MacFarlane gave you a pretty good bang for your buck at less than $20.
Forget the flight hands, he needed two fists. These mcfarlane figures are garbage, so annoyed
I would agree that they are not perfect, but they are far from garbage.
@@dHuntersReviews - yeah garbage is excessive but they exist in their own world. They don't fit anything else. I am a big DC guy and it seems Mattel finally got their stuff together to only lose everything at the end. I hate the spin masters crap and not feeling the Todd stuff at all. DC Collectibles is a toss up...I am just not a happy DC fan
They fit in fairly well with DC direct and DC collectibles figures.
@@dHuntersReviews DC direct and DC collectibles scales vary wildly. I prefer a standard 6 inch line. I preordered these, but I think I will really cherry pick this line. The only decent thing it seems is that we might be getting six/seven inch vehicles which is long over due. I won't collect most of thesee figures in fact I am going to cancel the animated Superman one as it looks ridiculous with the wind swept cape. I HATE wind swept capes on figures, leave that mess to statues
I think the animated figures look kind of rough
Every figure in this line has been shoddy and vile.
I disagree. There were some opportunities in the first wave, although Superman can out very nicely. The figures are getting better and better with each wave. I am really falling in love with this line.
I. Have the hellbat alredy
Nice, I haven't seen him yet!
@@dHuntersReviews a friend gave it to idk how he got
That is one I am looking forward to quite a bit.
Harley ISN'T comic style it's animation
That is incorrect, she is from Harley Quinn number 15 from 2002 and to the comic book series
@@dHuntersReviews if that's the case they botched her pretty badly 😬
You will understand why she is based off the comics when I put my review up later tonight
