Of the 3 Batman, 2 had a bit of uneven flesh paint UNDER the chin but all 3 were otherwise solid. Almost everything is molded in the color it is supposed to be and accent colors are separate pieces glued in. So paint rub won’t be a huge issue with these. No joints are painted. That might also be why John Stewart looks weird because McFarlane apparently REALLY works hard to make sure that no rubbing surfaces use any paint on them.
Got these two figures. These two figures in particular don't really have a huge chance to screw up the paint on the main body. The color is in the plastic. With Batman I really see some issues in the lining between the mask and the exposed mouth. Some people may see paint issues with the belt as that is also painted. Though it's two big areas. With Superman, similar deal. Paint on the belt. Mine you can barely make out the red layer beneath. Issue with Yellow paints in general. The metallic S I think is where you'll notice some issues just because it's the metallic. I only saw the one figure which I purchased. Pretty clean for me. Then of course the face could potentially be an issue between just because there is some paint for shading. Really the next step would have been to go the Hasbro route and make the belts separate from the main body. So DC heroes generally they should be good since there's not much color complexity. Though If they do New52 Flash with all his gold lines, I could see some issues.

You dont need that on every single figure, and if it happens eventually, great. If it doesnt, who the hell cares.

But they did change the installation of the shoulder parts in the 2 pack version making it looking way better. I really don't get the heat about it being 7 inches. I think they look amazing. And has better paint apps, character specific bucks and sculpting than ML's.
For some people, their whole collection are in these 6 inch size, especially if they buy Marvel Legends. So these figures really stand out. Personally I'd prefer if the Hasbro stuff were in 7 inch but it's too little too late I guess. I think another problem is you aren't a Superman/Batman fan(or have plenty of them) then this Superman/Batman themed first wave is a little boring.

Not to mention all the different separate/floating pieces they use, Marvel Legends are mold reuses done RIGHT. As many as they crank out a year, its absurd to think they wouldn't reuse. Why not?
Ist the Super Friends Multiverse Superman you showed in the video the closest I can get to the Super Powers Superman from Kenner from the 80's which punched his arms when you squeezed his legs together?
Hello i watch your reviews before i buy any figure because you are probably the best reviewer i know very quality videos and very nice review keep up the good work man
Thanks for the review. Respect your opinion, but disagree that we've never gotten a solid DC 6.5" inch line. The DC Classic and DC Universe lines were well done, had a consistent scale and covered almost every DC character. I admit that towards the end, Mattel were cutting corners and QC went down hill, but the initial waves were fantastic.
NECA Batman is also impossible to get. Obviously a Con exclusive, made in limited quantities with a higher price point will look a bit better. Next thing youll be telling me is that a Sideshow Premium Format figure looks better too!
Comic Crossing I’m saying that as a figure, it’s far better, no comparison. Even it was mass produced. McFarlane one is lame! Weird ab articulation, crappy cape, undesirable look. Distribution is all that it has going for it. Also, DC screwed up NECA’s distribution. It was going to be mass released.
@@horrorman2269 It still is a more expensive figure, and I can guarantee you that if it was mass produced it wouldnt have near the quality it had in a small release. Thats just how things work.
Great review! I do believe that either Batman's head is to small, or the torso to big. Superman has the same torso, but looks good, because his head and arms are bigger than Batman's.
Do the Revoltech style ankles work better on these figures than they do on the DC Essentials? They are really bad functionality wise on those figures, and really don't seem to belong on a 7 inch scale line at all since they can't handle the weight and size.
I definitely want to get these figures 👍 and I agree I like to pose all my figures together and they need to make them in a 6 inch scale great review as always. 🔥
Yeah, too much for me to nit pick about these to ever pick them up. I think I'm just gonna keep my DC line to Mezco at this point. I have so many past DC figures that just suck already and these ain't the home run they shoulda been.
Of these two Batman is the better figure for me due to the articulation. If Superman had Batman's double jointed elbows and could look up then I'd give it to Superman(whose bigger head looks better to me on these bodies). I think Superman not looking up seems like the figure was designed to always hover on the stand so he has to look down. Looking down is pretty on point with this figure. Body sculpt, I think this is one those things that's personal preference. Some like the muscle bound look and others don't. For me when I was a kid, $20 did not buy these kinds of figures. Even now some features you really only find on a more expensive figure. I don't want to pay $30 or $40 for a figure. But I get it, some people wanna collect them all and want them perfect for them. Tack on what Macfarlane wants and there's going to be friction.
ShartimusPrime I think there's dust on your camera lens or sensor (probably sensor)! They're very visible on this video especially (3 small dark circles in the top center).
Hey Shart, how would you (or will you be) rank this new line from best to worst??? I preordered the Batman, Superman, and the Batman who laughs but I’m still on the fence about the other figures.
I've picked up Harley and Supes Comic figs so far being a lil gun shy with these after initial images. Now that I've had time to mess with them I gotta say they're not perfect but there is a lot of potential here. Some of the misses are easy fixes like hands included (that said at least there are option hands) and others like articulation will require a new go on the drawing board. That all said I'm optimistic going forward.
I think Superman's wrist pegs should have been skin tone colored. They look weird colored blue. I also wish they had added a touch of metallic blue to the cuffs on his wrists, that would've made it pop. I also wish the yellow "S" was on the cape.
Saw superman and Batman today in store, Superman was by far the better looking figure. I'm more of a Batman fan not big into Superman but I bought the Superman instead. I'm happy with the stand too it's good and tight and holds him up no problem even better than some more expensive figure stands . He should have had 2 fists that trigger finger is stupid. For the money I think it's a great figure.
This is me hoping Todd McFarlane puts out at least a flash, aquaman, and cyborg. Wishful thinking is him putting out a Red Hood, Robin (Damian Wayne) and a few other selections of DC heroes. Like I said I hope he has plans to put those figures out because I would have them all on preorder as soon as they dropped.

He's gotta keep his sugar-daddy (Hasbro) happy.
The cleaner version of this being, he can't bite the hand that feeds him.
Where is the yellow “S” on Superman
A yellow S?
MrNeomatrix99 Action comics 1000 Superman doesn’t have a yellow s on the cape
@@TheKobe5s He also doesn't have a glossy red S emblem. I think this version is just McFarlane's take on Superman, not the Superman 1000 comic.
I'm definitely buying that batman 😍😍😍
I'm so happy that Batman and Superman have their trunks back.
I'm leaving soon for school so no wifi i won't get to watch any more but you made my day shat when you first replied to my comment
For McFARLANE's first DC take, this figures are great.
Wonder if you could get the card graded? If they are in decent shape, might be cool to display it with the figure.
NECA Batman is far better! The cape alone is better. To each their own
NECA Batman is also impossible to get.
Comic Crossing maybe expensive for you. I got it at NYCC. It was pretty easy to order them online too. They made a lot more than most exclusives.
@@horrorman2269 No it is literally more expensive. Even as a 2 pack per figure, it was more expensive than $20 figures. Thats indisputable.
Great review! I do believe that either Batman's head is to small, or the torso to big. Superman has the same torso, but looks good, because his head and arms are bigger than Batman's.
Please Shartimus review Green Arrow next, I really wanna know if he’s got some kind of ab crunch.
These look overall pretty good. I wish the superman could look up more though. Other than that, I'm happy to be getting these. Nice review 😁👍
Sick! Been waiting for this!
Do the Revoltech style ankles work better on these figures than they do on the DC Essentials? They are really bad functionality wise on those figures, and really don't seem to belong on a 7 inch scale line at all since they can't handle the weight and size.
Superman one needed to be better with the articulation, but other wise solid figs.
I’m thinking of ordering these on BBTS, but I’m used to Amazon and eBay. Are BBTS trustworthy? And also, are they slow on delivery? Thx
I've gotta say, these actually do look better in hand than they did in those leaked photos, but the scale is still a deal-breaker for me.
Just pick up Green lantern. I didn't like regular Sups face and the Animated Sups mulet thru me off.
Hey Shartimus, if McFarlane Toys will remake a new Spawn figure, will you review it?
Only if they send him a free one😉
I definitely want to get these figures 👍 and I agree I like to pose all my figures together and they need to make them in a 6 inch scale great review as always. 🔥
Yeah, too much for me to nit pick about these to ever pick them up. I think I'm just gonna keep my DC line to Mezco at this point. I have so many past DC figures that just suck already and these ain't the home run they shoulda been.
I agree! I found a few good dc collectible/essential figs. These suck
Awesome review it’s so kool to see my name on yr videos so honored to be a Patron
Wow the Batman and super man look great
Of these two Batman is the better figure for me due to the articulation.
That all said I'm optimistic going forward.
just got the batman today and it is way better than i thought it would be, i have a lot of fun with it
Their cool to add for our collection might get only Green lantern John stewart, the Bat who laughs, superman armor and hell batarmor.
These might be some of the BEST $20 figures on the market! The Devistator is a steal at $20
I’m just glad everything is in the same scale now. I’ve never been able to settle down on a DC line because there’s just too many.
Wait. These have an ankle rocker? My Superman didn’t seem to have one
HM each ?
