Just wanted to say thanks for the video! Gave me the incentive to get out this morning and ended catching my personal best. Only 28” but to me that’s huge
Hay Tom do you have a depth that you set your slip bobber off bottom when fishing power bobber techniques ? Or are you trying to keep in the same depth so your not add justing every cast 🤔 or do you set like 3ft off bottom to be able to fish multiple depth with out having to change??
What type of Bobber stops are you using with the braided line? Is it the string type or the neoprene type, in a small size I'm assuming. Could you please let us guys know that's the only question I really have that's a great system you have going I just need to know about the barber stop what you recommend for that. Also an excellent tutorial video, thanks Tom
Damn Tom,definateley doing one hell of a job on your videos. The most consistent best tips, advice of any Canadian fisherman out there 👌😃keep it up Tom definately great stuff and rolemodel
Love your videos! I learn more about walleye fishing watching your channel then decades of walleye fishing. Do you use a swivel to attach the braid to flourocarbon leader? Thanks!
Tom,thanks for your videos; I’m still learning how to catch walleye, and this old fisherman has sure been humbled. I live on a lake where here in Missouri where the lake has been stocked for several years because they can’t spawn at our lake. Many are getting pretty good size, a lot of shad in the lake. Will/should most of your techniques work here as well? Thanks, you have a new subscriber.
Looks like you were fishing in 25 to 30 fow and the surface temp was just under 70F. Would you say that a thermocline hasn't formed yet, or maybe won't form on that lake? This is something I sort of struggle with is knowing the depth the fish can be in due to oxygem levels. Thanks for the videos and all the tips!
Great video, as always. I’m trying to figure out your slip bobber setup. Large 1/2oz. Wobble Bobber with bead on top and 3/8oz weight tied below, ahead of split ring? This gets the short shank jig and leech down to bottom & fish. Do you then reel up off the bottom and dangle in front of the walleyes?
So are you trying to put the jig just above the depth the fish are marking? Or about the same depth? Or on the bottom? The egg weight is just used to get it down quicker?
Tom. When you use slip bobbers do you have a bobber stop on the line at the depth you want ? You don't mention a bobber stop.. like a rubber band or string stop.
I have been fishing the Ottawa River here in Ontario. Narrow with current and gets to 80 to 100 feet quick. I haven't been lucky at all. I am still prospecting since i have started using my garmin uhd 95 unit.
He didn’t even mention a bobber stop, unless I missed it. Constantly changing it, while he motors around, not sure they did that…I don’t know even if they were using one. He would just say “drop em” when he motored over fish. Probably can still feel the bite though
@Jordan Drier he didn’t even mention bobber stops. Makes me believe he is not using them. More interested in the vertical presentation from the big slip bobber he uses, kinda like ice fishing. Can lift it a foot or two once u notice line stopped being taken. On his graphs, the fish are just off bottom or a foot or 2. His buddy nails them when he says to put their lines in/ he’s the one closest to the transducer
Tom, what's your thought on keeping trophies? I'm talking 30 inch + .. my PB is 27.. waiting on the 10 pounder to put one on the wall .. also might help some guys to shed a little light on release mounts.....
It's solely up to you bud. Where he fishes a 30" is actually fairly common but were in a blessed land. A big one is 32"-35+ but a 28" can easily be over 10lbs even with no eggs. Replica mounts are a good option to keep the big egg trains producing.
So u run the slip weight above the swivel, then tying your leader directly on to the other side of the swivel? What we’re u using on the jig? Leaches or minnows? Great video. Fish On Hooked Up !!
Use a big musky bobber. All bobbers are equal once weighted properly. Musky bobber with heavy weights work anytime for any size fish. Casts farther. Stays where you put and is JUST as sensative as any pan fish bobber when neutral bouyant. Think about it. It's not rocket surgery.
Always changing the depth on the fly...I drop my rig down next to the transducer and graph how deep it is ....it will show up pretty clear on the hummingbird

Only 28” ? Lol Walleye? That’s an amazing fish. You didn’t know that?
Congrats by the way!
@@Anonymous-eu2kn haha yeah a walleye. A lot of people in the area have caught over 30s so that’s why I said it was only 28
Thanks for showing the fish on the graph. It helps to know what fish look like on the fish locator.
Lol, Tom preaching on the water class to his pops, buddy and us.
Thanks for showing 2-D and down imaging at the same time.
Yeah I didn't think the walleye would look like dots on di.
I can't even get fish to show up on my down imaging in the black and orange mode.

Same as Jon, thanks for the 2- D and DI, for the restivus.
Tom, do you ever do a video fishing shallow, small difficult lakes south of Hayward or the Chip?
Sweatshirt came in. Will shoot some pics in it using this technique. Thanks TB!
Looks like a super fun bobber bite!
Out on the pond doing this exact method as you post this. Great video as always
Lol. Your dad and friend should have switched spots! You friend was catching all of them! Nice vid as always Tom!
Cool vodeo, I have been catching a lot of walleye using crankbaits on my channel.
Hey Tom why were you not using mega 360 when you were driving around looking for schools of walleye?
Love the slippers. At times the best. Right on Tom.
I've never tried using a slip bobber for walleye. I'll have to test this out.
Good one and 2D screen shots help figured out a lot hook🆙
Once you mark fish, are you briefly popping the big motor into neutral? Also noticed you seemed to be traveling upwind.

Use 6" mono and tie an uni knot. You just need a bead between the knot and the bobber.
Minnows, crawlers, leeches, plastics? Are they all situationally effective with this technique? Thanks Tom!
All of those are my absolute favorite!
Definitely doing this tomorrow morning with gold jig head.. cloudy all day tomorrow, no wind.. should be fire!
How'd it go?

When you’re in 25’ of water how deep should you have your bait at? 22-23 ish?
Depends on the water clarity. In clear lakes being higher like that will give more fish a chance to see it
I was also curious about where to set the bobber stop given the variable depth, although it's a similar range. Any extra insight is appreciated

What net do you use?
Do you have a specific tool to thread your line through the wobble bobber I found it near impossible to get the line through
Yeah it's a pain in the arse!! I use a paper clip or wire tie.
This x1000...they suck to get line through
Do it at home and blow it through with an air compressor
I see your point, but there is no way I'm hooking up my air compressor to thread some slip bobbers. If I can't do it on the water, it's not happening.
Let’s say I’m fishing 23 feet of water, how deep should I have my bobber slip down?
Please explain how to set depth!
