Tom: Totally enjoy all your videos. I am trying to catch all of them. Could you do one where you describe the planner board you use and HOW to use them correctly?? Thanks
This is one reason why we'd like to see videos on smaller bathtub like lakes. By the time you set a spread your run is over. How'd you fish them break them down etc... We have way many more of these types of lakes in N NW WI. And in MN too. Thanks for your content and knowledge.
Thank you for going 'in depth' where to find these fish this time of year, it's always been tough for me late summer hoping to put these tactics to work and boat more fish. It helps me out a lot when you show screen shots and the differences between hard and soft bottom transitions. Thanks Tom, appreciate you.
I could open a sheepshead and catfish charter using all his techniques in Muskegon Lake in Michigan. People are getting walleyes here and there. I mark em all day long. Too many floating weeds to get the baits presented long enough. So frustrating. You make it look so easy. I need one walleye to get my spirit up
I was just thinking i wish he would show a pike or a sheepshead every now and then. Nobody goes out and only gets walleyes when targeting them that's not fishing. I appreciate all your videos. Your smart, and know what your doing. I'd love to fish with this guy one time
This is your best work, yet. Tremendously well communicated. The combination of screenshots of mapping, SI, and 2D were perfect! I can’t wait to be on the water to try this. Thank you for everything you’re doing out there
Really liked this video. I get up to the Boundary waters about once a year from Ohio and I think this should help me target those walleye better. I usually bring paper lake maps and sonar with me. I think I have been fishing too shallow. Good information.
*“Weather and walleyes, ya know, roll the dice. Who cares, right? It’s all just - WHO KNOWS.”* Lol that might be the truest statement ever spoken about walleye fishing. 😂👊
Hey Tom , I really enjoy your videos , discovered your stuff about 4 months ago and I've really been learning alot from you . I'm in Michigan about 10 minutes away from the Wyandotte ramp on the Detroit river so most of my fishing is done over there . Do you ever fish the Detroit river ? I know a guy like you would absoloutely be slayin em over there !! River fishing tips are really helpful for me as I haven't been able to get up north to inland lakes lately . One thing I've noticed is on your more recent videos you don't seem to mention the size of the fish . I'd really aporeciate it if you could (or even throw one on the old yardstick sometimes) sometimes the picture is deceptive when you hold them in front of the camera . Thanks for all the great information and tips that you put on here . Your videos are awesome !! 🙂
What kind of boat are you running. I really Love it. Looks like a flat bottom with great storage and live wells. Plus, you can sit right next to and run the outboard. I used to have a Water Tender 11.3, and I loved that boat so much. It was so lightweight. I can just tell I would love this boat and I want one. What is it called??
Tom, Great content. How does the thermocline TC relate to the deep transition where your are fishing. I'm on a northern WIS lake that has a TC ~22-25 and never see anything below that and have graphed many transition areas using the side imagining. See suspended fish and bait fish above. Just curious what you are seeiing. Thanks again
The lakes I fish employ weed cutters almost every day. This creates a LOT of floating weeds, thus making it basically insane to attempt to troll. The exception is when we get a strong wind for a few days, blowing the debris to one side/corner of the lake. I have resigned myself to focusing on small spots and drop shotting crawlers and leeches. Might try jigging raps next outing. Your content is crazy good. Just wish I could implement these strategies more frequently.
Video idea- Weird stuff like your fish before the board, lost fish, screw ups, broken rods etc…. Just an idea. Nice to know you have issues fishing like we all do!
Hi Tom, great videos, easily the most informative and detailed explanations of all the walleye content on the web! You mention that you don't always put the bottom-bouncer on the bottom of the lake. We have whitefish in our lake and I've always assumed when in ~20ft of water that fish half-way down the column are whitefish and ignore them. Cameras don't really tell the tale, clarity is not great. I've recently tried to use jig/minnow/leech to sit on these, no luck. I'm in Saskatchewan so only 1 rod allowed in the summer per person. Do you find that walleyes suspend when in those depths? Or is it more likely in deeper water (35ft+)?
Sure, the reason I know is I use the exact same reels by coincidence you can get a nice one (The Orange Ones) for around $100. Or you can drop down and but a descent one for around $55.00. I use both and have no complaints
This video has awesome content. Thanks! I noticed you don’t change your tactics too much based on fronts and weather patterns. Am I thinking about it to much on how weather will affect fishing?
So Mr. Tom Boley. I've watched allot of your videos. I got one huge difficult challenge for you... the challenge being filming underwater footage while using the acme hyper rattle and seeing how the walleye react all on film.. Will you accept the challenge?
Great content Tom never disappointing. When your trolling at 1.2 with a harness, bottom bouncers and using a planner board how much line are you letting out, I know it would vary based on depth, just wondering about your technic.
Everyone talks catch and release but nobody talks about appropriate harvest or over fishing. I used to fish for sport and now I fish to eat, but tend to practice harvesting principles much more closely related to that of other game management techniques, such as deer hunting; take only the mature animal for harvest and leave the immature ones to grow and reproduce. Why is fishing principle different?
You should release a shirt on contour that says “beautiful northern Wisconsin walleye”😂
Have you gotten Buck Perry's book yet?
Thanks for the education.
I can't wait until ice fishing !!!!
Great stuff love the teaching portions.

As a novice walleye fisherman I'm learning a lot from you Tom. Thanks very much
For too years now following Tom and still learning catch n release man👍🏼

After watching a ton of your videos, I finally pulled the trigger on a Piscifun Honor XT reel. WOW! Smooth as silk.
Why not just longline 11' rods?

Tom thank you for the information and telling and showing techniques. Enjoy your video's. Tight lines
You the man 👨
Thanks Tom for the interpretation of soft and hard bottom and how it looks on the hummingbird. This guidance helps me a lot.

What boat speed do you run for the bottom bounced and spinner blade ?
too much electronics for this old man!
Serly boy. He's such a nice dog. Would to run into you guys someday. Take care and as always Tom, thanks for the tips!
Love running slow death rigs. They do hook them funny alot tho. Lol great video Tom!
Thanks once again for a informative video 👍👍
As always, Tom, thanks for the screenshots and extra graphics when you show them. Top notch!
Hey Tom, do you have a video on how to properly setup planner boards?

Thanks Tom, gonna try this on Sakakawea this weekend.

Great screenshots & tips, Tom. These soft & hard bottom spots are very subtle- will increasing the units sensitivity help to see these better?
Every troll spinners at night??

Do you tie all of your own rigs? What are some tips and tricks for tieing them?
Great video Tom.
The secret spot fishing👍
Just wondering what brand of line counter reels you use?
He uses Okuma's I believe.
Cool ! Thanks Scott

Great video nice job on hard to soft bottom areas
Tom what speed do you troll spinners at? do you base it on water temperature or just vary speeds still something bites?
1.2 most the time
Tom are you on lac courte oreilles?
Doing well with the macks smiley blades and slow death hooks here. Crawlers and gulp killer crawlers.
Love your videos Tom. Would appreciate occasional close-ups of your rigging so we can see what’s catching fish today. What say you?
it's fighting like a bass.....LOL, you mean a fish that actually fights?
Hey Tom your videos are very helpful keep up the good work
You make the best videos, would like to see some more Musky videos though!
Great video how many lines are you allowed to use in Wisconsin
3
I think it depends on the county, the county where I fish some, Vilas, you're only allowed one
@@kyleigh2643 wrong 😑

Hard to soft transition is a good place to find summer crappies too !
Another great video, nice job! Always appreciate the hummingbird tips & tactics 🎣 Thanks, Fish On🤙🏻

Nice walleyes! Heard they taste delicious
Can’t catch walleye if they aren’t there. Northern Michigan is just not good for that species.

Can't wait to sell Illinois house (high taxes) and buy up nort Wisconsin.
