Hey Tom! Really getting into a lot of fishing as of late. You’re channel has been one of the better fishing channels to really start emerging for me. Finally learning to understand the side imaging, sonar, and down imaging from one of your latest videos made understanding a lot of you’re other content a lot easier. I genuinely enjoy your style, refreshing to get away from the overly country style community and see that more millennial/younger people can fish too. I’m excited to see more of the other types of fishing that you are into and have great advice for. I even would not mind a video that tells us more about you and your life. Also I often wonder what kinds of gear you have and like. Rods, reels, line preference, brands, all that kind of stuff. It’s great insight that I’m sure a lot of people might wonder about, I personally know I would. Your boat looks awesome btw! Thanks for the content, I’ll be tuned in for the foreseeable future.
Excellent content as usual. I fish the Ottawa River with current, very deep areas with shoals, bottom points etc. Makes it challenging and fun. When the wind blows from the east the chop is nuts since the river flows west to east.
Tom, love your content but would love it more if you could come down south and teach us southern boys how to catch walleye on our lakes, like lake Blue Ridge in Georgia. We have a ton of fish as the DNR has been stocking them for a long time, but our water temp, cover and bottom are much different than up north. We look forward to you coming down👍
I fish Hartwell and Tugaloo River in SC and get over to Blue Ridge occasionally. Good to have walleye in the South. Heading up to Kabetogama next spring.
@@davidcatron3390 hey David. As a side note, lake Rabun has produced the state record walleye and lake Burton (a muck bigger lake) is stocked with them as well as lake Seed, all in Rabun county Ga near Clayton. Tight lines👍
I bought myself a spinning reel it's a 2000 series kastKing For inshore fishing holds 235 yards of 20 pound braided line is that enough for walleye fishing
Really wish I had a side imaging unit, but for now I'll have to imagine where the fish are and fish it. Gonna try a slip bobber and leech this summer for sure
Is 2ft above bottom, or weeds, your go to height? Or if you were still in one place for a while, would you see them at 1 foot above? Just trying to understand if 2ft is ideal, or just generally forgiving. Thank you Tom
What area of Northern Wisconsin are you fishing? I have family in Eagle River. I'm from Ohio and live 10mins from Lake Erie. We smash em trolling and typically catch larger fish trolling. The jig bite is really hot in the spring which is fun too. You ever try Lake Erie?
Funny you mentioned about catching that fish before. Because I was thinking the same thing about one of the fish you caught before that with the split or missing part of dorsal fin, check it out, great vid as usual so jealous of you getting out constantly Ps keep doing the bobber vids!!!
I wanna see how you hook your leech ? Do you hook in the middle the tip do you thread it on ? And man I love your slip bobber videos I can watch them forever lol and how big is the lake you fish there in Hayward?
Awesome videos, love all the content. Would you still apply all of the same tactics in DARK water situations where the weed lines are in like 4 feet this time of year? I have a few good lakes that max out at about 11 feet but are extremely stained waters.
how high off bottom are you setting your slip bobber. if your fishing 12 -14 feet bobber stop at what 10. generally i like to have the leech above those walleye right
Hi Tom, love the videos bud! Do you run the G3 humminbird? My G2N si never picks up schools of fish like yours does, even when I'm slamming good size walleyes. I usually pull blades in my hotspots until I land a decent one or two then jig or swimbait for a bit until its fished out and move on. I only seem to have the odd shadow that ever shows up even when the "traditional" sonar screen on my g2 shows shools when I'm right ontop of them. I'm just wondering if I need to upgrade to g3 for better picture or not?
Hey Tom. I have a first gen helix 9 SI. I’m trying to replicate what you’re doing but can quite see the fish. Any recommendations on settings or is my unit not sensitive enough?
When you talk about side imaging on the hummingbird.my question is one side is very clear, which is the left side and that's the side the transducers are on and my right side shows dark shadows and not very clear like the left side. Is it the motor or any suggestions what the problem is with the shadows on that one side.??
@@patrickethier6190 If you just got the unit and have only used it a couple times (not used to it yet) it could just simply be that the the right side is scanning very deep water and the left shallow water. Deeper water will show shadow/dark particularly if quick drop off in area.
Hey Tom. I have the first generation helix 9 SI. Been trying to replicate what you’re doing but I just can’t find the fish on side imaging unless they are on flat sand. Any recommendations?

i realize Im pretty off topic but does anyone know of a good site to stream new movies online ?
@Johnathan Rudy meh I would suggest Flixportal. just google after it =) -caleb
@Caleb Danny Thank you, signed up and it seems to work :) I really appreciate it!

that water looks amazing!
Its surprising how good water can look like when you see fish or catch fish out of the same water......:)
Tom the walleye man! Great bobber video! Pmytuming waiting

@@Eagle621 Good to know. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this detail Tom. It's amazing to watch you pound em, and have often wondered about your setup and specifics. Love your videos!
Love your videos. Do crawlers and or minnows work well for this?
Appreciate the details of the rig! Fish On!
When you say summer, like when is this technic effective? Could a guy catch them walleyes in say late July?
I bought myself a spinning reel it's a 2000 series kastKing For inshore fishing holds 235 yards of 20 pound braided line is that enough for walleye fishing
Great information on the details of slip bobbering keep the videos coming
More detail on the slipbobber setup please
Tom. I assume you include the business end of the slip bobber setup in the length while setting your slip bobber? Am I correct to assume that?
I don’t have electronics yet. Have you ever done a video for finding walleye without sonar?
Really wish I had a side imaging unit, but for now I'll have to imagine where the fish are and fish it. Gonna try a slip bobber and leech this summer for sure
Man you are definitely the slip bobber king
As always... thumbs up... great, informative video. I appreciate your work.
I think you should throw together a blooper compilation. “Take me off the pro staff.”
Another great informative video THANKS TOM!
Awesome video! Lots of info. I have fished walleyes all over and Hayward area Walters fight way harder then most. Got to love that Wisconsin Gold!
Tom love your videos . Do ever use Hummingbird 360 sonar? Im trying to decide between a Garmin or a Hummingbird to update my sonar Thanks

Thank you Tom
We have tons of yellow perch and silver bass or white perch. How is it possible not to catch 40 perch to 1 walleye ?
Another awesome video Tom...really appreciate and enjoy watching your content!

Right on great vid Tom
The Fish Hunter! 😎
Can this be effective with plastics or nightcrawlers? I live in Washington and we can uses leaches or live minnows.
Do you have any tips for someone like me a regular guy doing this on a budget. No boat, no electronics. Can only dream about that. Lol. I kayak fish.
Do three way rigs work for walleye.
You said you basically use two rod setups but only described one of them. What’s the other?
Tried to find those bobber stops you like. Can you link them?
I cant wait to get back to canada with a float and crawler rig🤗
Tom Great bobber video! thanks for sharing! Planer boards when trolling for walleye. can you make a video! thanks Tom
Thanks for the tips
Great video Tom! Very informative
I love the info you put out. Great job man.
It looks so easy, but then again your the master angler. 👍
Do you offer a guide service on “the chip”. Headed up July 2021 and would love to book a day with you. Hit me back

Ever try artificial on this set up? Or is it strictly live bait?
Super great as always bud.
I agree with Andrew below you have to have some funny bloopers those are always fun.
See you on the waters.◉‿◉
Hi Tom another great video. At what water temperature do walleyes start to slip out to deeper water?
I wanna see how you hook your leech ? Do you hook in the middle the tip do you thread it on ? And man I love your slip bobber videos I can watch them forever lol and how big is the lake you fish there in Hayward?

as always very informative thanks tom
always good info tom thanks for sharing!

Looks like he had it about 2 feet above them at one point
Hey bud loving the channel. Great content and liking the frequency. Keep up the great work. Thanks
New subscriber👍
Tom do you ever use a plain hook set-up on your slip bobber rigs or do you always use a jig?
Sometimes super shallow. It's hard to cast though. Tends to tangle alot
Hey Tom could you do a video on post spawn smallies, also more on how you highlight lakes on your hummingbird would be great!
He mentions the Humminbird in a few videos. One of his spring walleye ones for sure
he explains how to do that in this video

"power corking"
How do u like the competitor?
You are a legend.
Do you like neoprene stops?
Hey Tom. I have a first gen helix 9 SI. I’m trying to replicate what you’re doing but can quite see the fish. Any recommendations on settings or is my unit not sensitive enough?
I wonder will it work in lake Erie
What speed do u set your SI on when spot locked vs when your looking for fish?
3 all the time
Those walleyes are making me hungry. 🍽

Trim your motor up until it is clear. Usually doesnt take much. I have same issue.
SI beam shoots down first and then to the side so its not your motor.
@@tom5848 any other idea what it would be then if it's supposed to shoot down first why it's doing that on the motor side??

Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? 😆
good vid
Lets see a lindy rig video

5 people who's egos are bigger than their boats...who is hating on these videos seriously?
Probably members of PETA and we all know what that stands for
ugh.... it's videos like this that make me sad to live and fish in Minnesota! We only get to fish with one rod....so dumb
first!
Enough with the slip bobbers we know that’s all u think works
Your talking to the slip bobber master lol put some respect on his name boy ...or catch some fish however you want too nobody has a gun to your head
