Comrade X7 the effects are very hideous..plus..using scrap paper to see the paint dries or not it's a big mistake because it will make very scratchy..the effects does not looks like an effect..it looks more like a big messy mistake
how the fuck do you know it looks good? he didnt even show the finished product. all he showed was what it looked like with the water still on it. Fucking retarded video with stupid ass "effects"
Just an FYI: You can do the drop effect on any curved surface by using liquid mask available at art stores. Thin it a bit so it will spray from a bottle, let dry and then paint away. After the paint is dry just wash with water to remove the mask.
There sure are a lot of people trash talking this guy who took time to teach some spray painting techniques. Thanks Commando. I think your techniques were great. To all the haters out there; how many of you have a UA-cam channel with over 100K subscribers? I just subscribed. Keep up the good work!
I use lace for patterns, water for raindrop paint (like water drop but top coat is full color, use compressed air to blow off water and reveal under color in drop shapes) and grocery bags for marbled paint (like saran wrap but it peals off top layer)
I use color changing paint when I do the water droplets or the wood effect I use glow in the dark.. or have you ever caught a spider web in black spray paint on a t-shirt.. anyway man, awesome patina
i applaud this comment for not acting like all the other douchebags on here. we shouldn't be about putting down fellow artists, instead share your ideas like chris fucco. thanks for the video uploader and suggestions
I found the very best way for water droplets is to use glycerine - spray it on, then use clear kote to lock it in, its perfect - plus it wont evaporate like the water droplet version you have shown - loved the gunmetal effect and am applying that right now - thanks COmmando designs, new sub here fella, appreciate the time and effort to teach us some things (I know about the glycerine effect from doing photography with a normal glass and using glycerine to make it look like a frosty glass) :)
That dragon scale one would also work with fishnet stockings. In fact that might work great around your round water bottle since they're already in that shape.
If you want to try the water drop effect on a curved or vertical surface, try an old photographers’ trick. Add glycerin to your water. That’ll add some thickness to the water and make the drops stay in place. It’s how photographers make that “sweat,” “condensation,” I’m their product photos that make that bottle of beer look ice cold.
I use ladies fishnet pantyhose hose for the snakeskin effects. I cut to length and slide it over my project. I use Duracoat with this technique on firearms and RTIC tumblers.
Good stuff, people need to look at the entire video to appreciate it. I like the water drop effect and the water bottle with the laundry bag pattern. Thanks for this video, don’t mind the negative comment from other people. 👍🏼
Good tips man! I did the dragon skin effect on a gun stock. I used fish net stockings that wrapped tighter than the laundry bag and it turned out really good
I experimented with a brown oil paint background then covered with rustic russet red varnish and dam it made the metal railing fence look like real rust for this ladys Tuscan style villa. She was well pleased with the result which was exactly what she was looking for old "RUST When her husband came home he made me paint it over again black because he said it was too real and looked like it needed urgent maintenance and he wouldn't be able to sell the property
guys try get hold of the South African PLASCON paint company paint effects booklet (try online) you can make plaster look like weathered metal great for concrete statues and outdoor /indoor /garden effects . just packed with good ideas and pics
i like the water drop effect and the dragon skin,if you were to paint the project red or bright green first then wrap it then paint it with black it would look killer, thanks dude.
I did a project recently by decorating a liquor bottle with spray paint and cricut vinyl stickers. I had trouble with the transfer tape it took blotches of spray paint off and the vinyl sticker stayed on. Very frustrated! It ruined my project. Can you give me advice? Oh yeah the transfer tape wasn't even the strong one.
I need help with my kitchen I have change my counter top in the kitchen , but the Bach splash don’t mach I will like to paint with something similar either marble look it have wire old rose pink. Light gray ang a little bit of beige how can I turn my tile to look similar to that can you please help me
i think they're all cool and can be used in a lot of decors. i've completely re-finished kitchen cabinets with two or three colors to achieve the effect that i wanted and used clear coats to make it uniform. i was using satin finishes. now, here's my question to you and your expertise, can you do those same effects on the "back" side of acrylic plexi-glass to get the same effects?
Awesome stuff, I'm a spray paint geek and I'm always experimenting to create unique finishes. Thanks Steve, I'm a follower for life! Do you have more tricks that might be a bit tougher? Fyi, I love doing all types of custom work based on what a friend or customer likes or past experiences on vehicle emblems, engines and other badges on their vehicles...one of my favorites was actually done on the front grille Chevy bowtie on my 2007 Chevy Avalanche. It stepped thru the pain and suffering of an addiction and ultimately the loss of a fiance' who I have known and loved since 3rd grade. I had so many people compliment and just sit in front of my truck, (while I was stopped of course, usually getting gas or groceries) and just go into a complete loss over the design. I took off and kept it after one day getting gas in Phoenix while working and an older gentleman stared at my design for so long that I was able to fill up a huge gas tank, wash my windshield and then I asked if had any idea what it represented? He had tears in his eyes and he said only one sentence and had to walk away...he whispered "I'm so sorry for what you walked through, God was with you the entire time Son." And I stood there....still surprised that this man took away a 5 year part of the darkest time in my life, from a design I painted and added in some special pieces of metal that represented those years. I truly know what art, life and some odd experimenting with paint and common household items or just something laying around can create such an effect and bring a boring once dingy gold chevy bowtie to life and help someone as lost as me be grateful for it. Keep up the amazing work and Thank you for sharing what I think is some crazy cool stuff brother. Sincerely, John Haag Apache Junction,Arizona 480.349.9218 Take care!
This is COOL! It's early hear so bear with me, what would the plastic wrap effect be used for? As well as the silver with the black streak effect? I saw the water drop effect on the TV show "Counts Customs" . Are these effects just for painting things? Bikes, cars, etc? The gunmetal effect might be cool on a model airplane,
I like the water drop effect thought it looked like the moon at first pretty cool. Don't let all the negativity get you down, work hard and you will pribe them wrong.
wow what a bunch of haters,im new to airbrushing n was hopeing to find a good community but oh well, thanks man for the tutorials, I learned a lot I didn't know
I got bored during Lockdown and decided to paint over my Land Rover. I went for a sort of Urban Camo. If I wanted to weather it, would paint thinner be okay to use?
thank you great video! I wanted to ask you a question. I got a flask the other day and I wanted to give it a custom design. do you know what paint I should use?
New sub! I watched again and i think I'll get some of that spray leak fixer from Wal-Mart it's thick and water proof I'm going to paint a stainless steel tumbler because right now i have stickers on it and even tho it's colorful and i can usually get a good grip i would like to have this effect that I'm gonna do so it will be what i design not someone else. Thanks to you your ideas have opened up so much more for me. I've only done one spray art so far but I'm going to do more. Thank you
I've got a old 1995 4Runner that the hood paint is really worn from Sun, Weather and Age. Think I'll do the one with the net pattern on it this fall/summer. Can't make it look any worse then it already does. lol
There are many factors in getting a good result. One resource I discovered that succeeds in merging these is the Magic Painter Method (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the most useful info that I have ever heard of. Check out this incredible site.
A question for you sir. I want to try doing chameleon paint, have you done any work with it and would you have any advice for a newbee? Thanks for your great videos they brought me back to airbrushing.
Can you camouflage paint a riffle? With snake skin. Along with using leaves and bush / branch pieces that have different leaves on it.. when you do the leaves use three or more different leaves. I know you would get Great views. There are some out there but they are not very good. Your water trick would look good on the butt stock.. and the flatter parts.
I'm really thankful that Steve-O took some time off of his busy schedule to give us this paint tutorial.
Comrade X7 XD lol
Comrade X7 the effects are very hideous..plus..using scrap paper to see the paint dries or not it's a big mistake because it will make very scratchy..the effects does not looks like an effect..it looks more like a big messy mistake
Comrade X7 I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought that while I was watching this
😭😭is ver baaaad!!!!
HAAHAAA yup thanks steveo
The water effect looks good. You can enhance it by spraying a white from the opposite direction to the black.
You can enhance that mess even more by throwing it out when you are done... then get a ham sandwich.
how the fuck do you know it looks good? he didnt even show the finished product. all he showed was what it looked like with the water still on it.
Fucking retarded video with stupid ass "effects"
nevermind. i didnt finish the video at first because it was stupid.
those cuts...
Or for a really good look use an airbrush for doing real looking water droplets
Just an FYI: You can do the drop effect on any curved surface by using liquid mask available at art stores. Thin it a bit so it will spray from a bottle, let dry and then paint away. After the paint is dry just wash with water to remove the mask.

Thanks Mark. I'm not sweattin it. If you;re not hated then your not doing a good job on UA-cam.
If you use a fishnet stocking instead of a laundry bag, it means you don't have to have a seam.
The water drop is absolutely amazing. Never seen that before. Almost looked like the surface of the moon in this case.
Crazy how the simple laws of physics pertaining to saran wrap creating patterns, etc allows us to create beautiful art. God is so good!
I like that you stick to topic. My time is valuable to me.
Thanks man. I'm looking forward to making even faster and more efficient vids in the future.
I use lace for patterns, water for raindrop paint (like water drop but top coat is full color, use compressed air to blow off water and reveal under color in drop shapes) and grocery bags for marbled paint (like saran wrap but it peals off top layer)
Cool. Great ideas.
The water drop one looks great, almost like a grainy black and white photo.
Color changing paint is a great idea I beg it looks bad ass too

That is a great point.
That dragon scale one would also work with fishnet stockings. In fact that might work great around your round water bottle since they're already in that shape.
Yes sir ! Fishnet works alot better !
is there a technique you can use to spray paint something to look like aged leather?
The red one looks like frozen meat
Angela Camp was just thinking the same
Angela Camp dried up period blood
Timmy Morgan has
Lmaooooo.......😛😫
When you use salt can't you just spray it with water after the paint dries to get rid of the salt and avoid scratching it with a scratchy pad
All respect to you, I use these effects add a background to allot of my paintings, love the way they look!
You look like peak life regrets incarnated into a person form.
I thought these effects were terrible but I finished the video and appreciate the end results. Clever and creative.
Thanks man. They work really well.
On that last dragon skin one you could use lace doilies to get different affects lowriders use them all the time in there city scapes.

Another comment here said that photographers use Gelatin, you say Glycerin...is one of you wrong or do either one work?
I use ladies fishnet pantyhose hose for the snakeskin effects. I cut to length and slide it over my project. I use Duracoat with this technique on firearms and RTIC tumblers.

VINCE MCBRAYER I too like fishnets wrapped tightly around my bag...
The water drop effect that you did looks great on a dark background and using a silver instead.
those will look great on guitars man thankyou great video

Plastic wrap for mud, watered down paint for wood grain, and the water drops looks wild. All of these can be useful.
I did a project recently by decorating a liquor bottle with spray paint and cricut vinyl stickers. Take care!
That person is with u everyday and hasn't missed one moment of ur life post -event.
Which one of these would be best for a bike frame?
I like the water puddle/drips and the netting effect. Those 2 effects look pretty sweet
Thanks for sharing your hard earned tricks...Excellent Effects...
This is COOL! It's early hear so bear with me, what would the plastic wrap effect be used for?
As well as the silver with the black streak effect?
I saw the water drop effect on the TV show "Counts Customs" . Are these effects just for painting things? Bikes, cars, etc?
The gunmetal effect might be cool on a model airplane,
I like the water drop effect. Thumbs up from me
For the water effect do you let the water dry completely till all the drops are evaporated?
Wow Thanks so much
I might do my whole truck bed with that Grip liner effect!! Thanks!!
This was super cool. One question-> do you just leave the water evaporate? What keeps it from damaging your media (in my case, canvas)? Thanks
Yes let it sit
I like the water drop effect thought it looked like the moon at first pretty cool. Don't let all the negativity get you down, work hard and you will pribe them wrong.
Love the water droplets and dragon skin! I will be trying these on my next paintings!
wow what a bunch of haters,im new to airbrushing n was hopeing to find a good community but oh well, thanks man for the tutorials, I learned a lot I didn't know
Jeremy Palmer
The effects with the water droplets is just awesome! Thinking of doing it on my bike! 👍
the water one looks great
I got bored during Lockdown and decided to paint over my Land Rover.
I went for a sort of Urban Camo.
If I wanted to weather it, would paint thinner be okay to use?
You think any of these could be used on a motorcycle fairing ?
Yes, but remember you need a flexible primer. Or it will crack off really fast.
have you ever tried spraying the water with the base coat? works much better, in my experience.
Is there a reason you use salt?
Why not use sand that you can reuse indefinitely instead of wasting good salt?
Anyway, good tips. Thanks.
Sand is so fine it would be much harder to remove all the grains after spraying your color. Fine gravel could work though.
any tutorials on how to paint 3 dimensional pipes or tubes???
Sir, you are a legend! Thank you for all the insane ideas!
thanks for sharing these tricks. appreciate the kind efforts.
Have you considered tight weave fishnet stockings for the dragon skin effect on things like the water bottle to eliminate the seem
Yeah, but every time I go to buy fishnet stockings I chicken out when every one starts staring at me in line. That is a good idea.
Do you just let the water sit there until it evaporates all the way or how does that work?
Nice job!, keep it going, keep it interesting!
Love it!!
I have an issue ive upgraded to an eclipse from a passche vl n my hose wont fit im a beginner so be nice r there diff hoses size?
Any ideas on how to do a Damascus like effect?
Just did the shrink wrap on a hotwheels and wow amazing results. Thanks for the helpful video!
That's awesome to hear. I saw this technique about 12 years ago and it blew my mind.
Hi, I'm kleber from Brazil. You can tell me how to make that painting that when we throw water on it it goes away. ??. Thank you
Awesome! Thanks for making this video.
thank you great video! I wanted to ask you a question. I got a flask the other day and I wanted to give it a custom design. do you know what paint I should use?
Great video but whats with the court jester music
this is so awesome !!!!!
Thanks for the video. Great work. Do you peel the plastic off while its wet or wait for dry? Thanks again.
Thanks! Working on a bike-painting project, gave me some great ideas.
Nice video. Also a cool one is using dish soap.
What do u do w dish soap 🧼
Wow. That water drop was nice.
Thanks.
I can teach you two effects I've perfected to add to this. It's called runs and sags.
Same here lol
Braaaah thanx alot. Definitely gonna use some of these.. even if I cant do them in the same way, youve definitely given me some solid inspiration
Very nice some great tips thanks for sharing
Thanks man. I appreciate the feedback.
Thank you so much this will help me paint my 3d printed rc plane!
Maybe he should do a paint grass effect on his yard behind him! LOL. Nice effects though!
Very Cool Dude , Thanks !
If you leave the salt on does it stay all sparkly like that?
No
Do you think I could get the same effects with Plasti-dip
The crystal technique is great. Thanks for sharing.
you got some paint tips too make something look weathered and old/rusty. do not have airbrush.... ive seen some use spraybottles and paint thinner...
dude I like the video but you gotta do something about the background music -_-
Awesome & easy! Great tut.
How do you do the water drop effect on the side of a car. Won't the drops run ?
AMAZING work you do!
How long before I can remove the wrapper for the crackle effect?
I've got a old 1995 4Runner that the hood paint is really worn from Sun, Weather and Age. Think I'll do the one with the net pattern on it this fall/summer. Can't make it look any worse then it already does. lol
how many times can you say effect? also they look like mistakes rather than effects.
Nate Lischak AND YOU'RE STILL STUPID. AS YOU ARE A DISAPPOINTMENT TO YOU'RE PARENTS.
Wow...good job...
the water drops looks like a picture of the moons surface, keep it up bro.

Awesome info! Thanks for sharing!
Excellent 👌
A question for you sir. I want to try doing chameleon paint, have you done any work with it and would you have any advice for a newbee? Thanks for your great videos they brought me back to airbrushing.
Curious on how flat the saran wrapping technique lays?
Great video and awesome work, terrible choice of music😂
Great tips.
Awesome! Thanks!
I’m going to try the rain droplet technique on planet paintings. It looks like craters of the moon
