I bought this product the other day and just finished a job using it. The job was a steel roll cage. I've very impressed with the finish.
Note: The service and advice I got from the guy in the video was excellent. He delivered the product himself and ran me through what was required. Good old fashion customer service at it's finest.

don t tell me it was stainless steel ... because if it was shoulda just polished IT and no color on top... you ll get such a mirror effect mutch better to work then with paint like this... i was apprentice once in a steelworks company ... and there i did something like that

Great video, looks like a good product. I've always had the issue with painting plastics with chrome that when I apply a clear coat on top, it clouds the chrome completely. This at least seems to retain some gloss after clear coating. Thanks again.

I remember back when they came out with this and the other method. The paint version seems to been improved but hard to tell on video.
In the past, it was ok/good looked like a fogy chrome hard to describe. The other method they had was a few step process with special equipment but made anything look like real chrome.
For years ALSA was big at the SEMA show. Interesting very little shops in my are used ALSA most used house of kolor for custom paints. Only had one company sell ALSA in my area before they closed down and they seemed to not sell much of it. Even tho they make good products and not overpriced but not cheap at the same time.
Anyway thanks for sharing in detail keep up the good work.

This is an awesome idea. I wish they had this paint when I had my shop. I can think of a few things I would have painted with this chrome paint. When you did the side by side comparison with the true chrome bumper and the painted chrome bumper they were pretty close. If you payed attention you could see the very slight difference between the two but it was minimal. Obviously the painted chrome won't be as durable as the chrome plating but anyone who expects paint to hold up as well as plating are idiots. The chrome paint is an excellent idea that can be used on fiberglass or plastic bumpers. You can have the look of chrome without the price and labor of plating. I am definitely keep this in mind for my next project vehicle like my 1979 VW Stallion Trike. I bet candy paint would look amazing sprayed on top of the chrome paint. I would have loved to use the chrome paint for flames on my custom, full custom, slammed Chevy dually.

On my dually, with the exclusion of the skulls, it was done in metal and the skulls were glued in place with door skin glue

I think there are some visible differences between the painted and the real chrome bar.
The reflections on the real chrome bar are way more crispier and not so washed out.
Also the real chrome seems to have a higher contrast, because of darker blacks, while the painted looks more greyish and foggy.

Yeah a little troubling from an honesty standpoint for a painter to say "can't tell the difference"
I have a go to painter for our show cars. I pay him because he is super anal about his work. There are things that we have had to argue with him were not an issue that he absolutely REFUSED to let leave his shop as they were. It can be annoying when we have deadlines since he is outsourced labor but its much better than other painters where we had to argue with them that they WERE going to fix it
They would have said something like "can't tell the difference" when you clearly can. Our painter would have said "not even remotely close" even though its good enough to pass and acceptable based on work effort and price.

    Questions:
1.) Does it always require the base coat and is your black base coat the only one that works?
2.) Do you have what I thought you said you have which is a simple spray paint can (disposable) "rattle can" that we are all so familiar with? I have to touch up some motorcycle rims that have rust areas on otherwise perfect chrome. I just need a spray can to recoat the areas that have rust (I will remove before painting chrome) do you have a product like that or again, is it always a two-step process?

@modern studies skilled workers grinding and polishing, then skilled chemistry croming. Plus lots of materials stripping acid, grinding disks, cotton sanding wheels, sandpaper, buffing wheels. Then all the chemicals need for the actual plating. All good chrome goes copper, then back to polishing, then nickel, and finally chrome. You might have to buffing the nickel and chrome as well. Also it's a luxury, where I work does show chrome.

Looks great, you said it has to be on a gloss black base coat, i would like to see it over a different color (maybe red and a lime green) base just to see what happens.

For the time and hassle it seems worth it. The reflections in the chrome is a little more sharp but maybe color sand and polish may fix that. Either way, it lools good and is a lot less expensive. You cant even chrome jn my State, you have to send it off, so youre out over a week just in shipping then the cost of handling too.

Great video. He is concise, reiterating the dry times and size of gun tip. What REALLY sold me was when he compared the two bumpers, I could see the original was shinier,At the end he says that the clear coat will dull the shine which explains the difference I saw. Does the accent come with the paint or is that an added charge?LOL

So I've been pricing out and looking for chrome/stainless steel trim to put on my pt cruiser, a grill for example, pillars, the bottom door spears, and good grief, it might not only be easier to use this on the OEM parts on the car (rather than buying chromed or chrome look replacements) it might just be cheaper as well since chrome/stainless steel trim parts for second gen pt's are getting hard to find. I'm not looking to hot rod my pt, no flames for me, I want to work off it's retro style and bring in some 1930's/40's flair. Even if this stuff is a couple hundred dollars it's still cheaper than a paint shop. For that I could live with the slight difference between real chrome and easy chrome, and with a little buffing and polishing...

Hello, query: after painting chrome, do you put a layer of protector for the chrome? What kind of protector do you put on it? I have seen that chrome cannot be lacquered because it darkens and loses almost all of its reflection.

Spoken like someone that has never developed/sold anything. Pricing isn't driven by what things cost, it's driven by demand. If people will pay a high price, then why would the manufacturer lower it? As more companies start competing with similar products, competition will drive down the cost. It's called Capitalism. You should look into it! :)

Really good paint, but enusre the base coat is virtually perfect as this effects the finish, the better the base coat the better the chrome finish. A little on the pricey side, but perfect for doing wheels, bumpers and wing mirrors, which does not necessarily use much paint. Also if you use a clear coat it does dull the finish slightly. All in all, great paint and excellent finish!
