People unhappy that a driver wasn’t a part of the show must understand that supporting this season will lead to other seasons and possibly a full season documentary of all the drivers.
This is EXACTLY what NASCAR needed. A way for fans to relate to the drivers as humans. That's what made people huge fans of the big names in the past, them being public figures. This will hopefully bring a lot more viewers to NASCAR like it did F1, and I think it will for sure. This is one of the BEST decisions they could have ever made, regardless of what drivers they chose
Watched all 5 episodes in one sitting with only a snack break and a bathroom break. Great show and really showed the personalities of the sport and drivers very well, especially Denny. His personality was 100% authentic and didn’t hide anything. So excited for the 2024 season and I hope they make more of these in the future. 8.5/10

This looks WAY better than previous attempts at shows like this (that is, the one where Jeremy Mayfield's wife sits in the back seat while the dog sits in the front seat). Just wish it wasn't only on Netflix.
The show is great! I just hope the next season of the show has more episodes and covers the entire racing calendar from The Clash through to the Championship race at Phoenix.
They did a great job showing Nascar in a serious light. I hope they expand on this and cover more drivers and teams in the future. This is a huge step in the right direction that i hope inspires Fox to take their coverage more seriously.
NASCAR needs to understand that thanks to this series, the stars have aligned again for them to be one of the most poular sports in America. Maybe even in the whole world once and for all. *NASCAR, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT SPORTS WISE, NOW IT IS UP TO YOU.*
As a NASCAR since ‘93, I thoroughly enjoyed it and think they did a great job! My only complaint would be that I wanted more episodes 🍿 I’m looking forward to seeing how the series develops as the Drivers/Teams provide more access 🏁👀👍
Ive seen the first two episodes so far and love it. I like that they focus on the playoffs rather than the whole season. Im hoping they keep on and hopefully nascar will see a viewership increase in future races
Looks great but no back marker teams or drivers. Ya know teams that race from paycheck to paycheck and drivers trying to start a career or rebuild one.
that was exactly what i've been thinking watching it as well. The field is just too large, there's so many moments where someone has a highlight reel moment and then you expect them to dig into it and they just... move on.
As a lifelong NASCAR fan who’s been watching since 2012, I have been waiting for an incredible series like this. Thank you NASCAR for bringing this awesome show to us and for helping the brand to grow 🙌🏾
To be honest, I'm more entertained about Hamlin than ever before. My only peeves about the series (season 1 so far) is there's only 5 episodes and pretty much talk nothing about first 25 races.
Focusing on denny. Whether because they love FedEx or because he makes good TV is probably the biggest issue I see. Will turn off a lot of fans. Just like using Dennys car front and center next to all the sports biggest starts and multi time Champions for the nascar 75 campaign hit like lead balloon. But maybe it will work out and he'll grow a fan base if you just focus on him on track he's a heck of a driver. But then again. His career is wrapping up any season now. We need to focus on the drivers with 10 yrs in sport ahead of em
This is already better than Drive to Survive especially now that Gunther Steiner (the main source of content) is out as team principal at Haas & I am an F1 fan. Speaking of Drive to Survive, it will likely be totally unwatchable this season because the producers will likely focus the series totally on Max Verstappen (almost as if it is PR documentary for Red Bull) which is boring because he dominates every race & there is zero drama in the team as a result. Now we need an Indycar documentary on Netflix that covers the entire season & the championship battle not just the Indy 500 like that terrible 100 Days to Indy series on the CW does.
Drive to Survive has better production than the NASCAR Full speed in my opinion. In term of cinematography and history telling Drive to Survive is miles better. And i dont think Gunther exit will make a difference for the new season.
I’ve been watching indycar and f1 for the last 5 years, but I’ve always wanted to get into NASCAR. The show was an easy in for me , and I got hooked. So I think it worked haha
I fully enjoyed it especially the Martinsville ending scene. Perfect piece of cinematography with perfect music choice having the triumph feeling of Blaney winning mixed with those who missed the championship 4, only thing is I felt starting at the playoffs meant certain storylines felt rushed through like Ross who by the start of the playoffs wasnt as controversial as the series portrayed.
So, for me being one of the hardcore fans, it's pretty middle of the road, which given my bias is probably a good thing. It does give extra insight and more character behind the drivers. I would have liked to see more of the regular season highlights and build up to the playoffs since Netflix has had crews on site for most (maybe all?) Of the season. I do understand that different drivers Grant different levels of access, but I would imagine that there could have been at least more interviews regarding opinions or takes on things. I also feel like giving another episode or two could have made it a little better. Perhaps the biggest flaw I see is not giving a good thorough introduction to exactly how the entire points season and playoffs work. They could have a few different drivers explain it and cut between them and show examples of said points scenarios. All that being said, it does good at taking NASCAR serious, and the drivers it does focus on, it gives a pretty good behind the scenes story
As an englishman who knows nothing about Nascar, I absolutely loved this show. It actually made me want to start watching races. Can anyone recommend any other documentaries on the sport? Thanks
