    This video is awesome. Yes, I've been learning it's all about a loose feeling in your "throat". Everyday, it gets easier to remember the position and feeling. Like, even if you can't hear yourself over the music you can feel when it's right and and when it's wrong. Fascinating. I'm a singer and I think learning to scream is harder. Haha

    SORRY this got a little long.
    I have just started to practice this week and only have tried a few times. I can get the basic noise pretty good, considering i just started. And i understand projection and consistency come with time. My only issue is i can only practice a couple minutes at a time and my throat starts to feel a litte scratchy. Is that normal for a beginner. At first it goes smooth but i feel my throat tighten after a minute or 2. Will my throat get used to it and loosen up over time. Or am i doing something wrong. This is only like my 2nd day straight of trying to do pig squeal. Any extra tips or advice would be much appreciated. THANKS

      Hello! Discomfort in the throat usually means that you work too hard with your voice box or you aim for creating too intense sound, too early. It would be easier to tell what exactly is going on if I had a chance to listen to your attempts. Feel free to send me a recording on email - xvocalcenter@gmail.com, I will do my best to help :)

    what should the sensations of the right sound be like?

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  10 місяців тому

      It feels like the sound is narrowing gradually (it can be fast and dynamic but still gradual) , core muscles gradually work a bit harder, the soft palate and back of the tongue are getting closer to each other, the sound feels a bit like it was pulled slightly up and backwards, there's a sensation of bubbles like on the plate of boiling water in the area of the soft palate, back of the mouth and in the larynx. Neck, throat, jaw and tongue are free from any extra tension and discomfort.

    Why does it sound airy when I attempt it ?

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  11 місяців тому

      Usually it sounds that way when the onset is too whispery or there's too much compression in the larynx.

    Is it normal for my throat to hurt while doing the vomit noise?

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  11 місяців тому

      Hello, that sound should feel almost effortless or at least neutral for the throat. It it hurts then maybe you try too hard (too much tension, compression, air) or the sound is too close to a whisper. It would be easier to tell what is good and what might require fixing if I had a chance to listen to a recording with your attempts.
