I wanted the winner's team to have these 3 things: -Not feature Zacian -Not feature ice Calyrex -Feature a non legendary I really like, for example Gastrodon After Day 1 I wanted James to win because he had all those 3 and because I really liked his surprise Shadow Claw Groudon, it reminded me of those Dragon Claw Groudons when the meta had really strong dragon types dominating.

I stopped doing online battles a long time ago when everyone was just using the same pokemon. It looks more diverse now but not sure. But honestly this makes me want to get back into it for Scarlet/Violet.
Gastrodon is on the team specifically to blank Kyogre. The fact that Gastrodon exists means that moves like Water Spout become liabilities, especially when your other restricted Pokémon, Zacian, is weak to Earth Power and could become burned by either Calyrex or a possible Scald from Gastrodon. Then you compound matters with Gastrodon having Yawn to control your switch-ins, and it is absolutely a threat worth playing around.

Victory Road has a lot of rental team codes as well as other resources. 3. To compete in a pokemon championship, you need championship points. These can be gained by competing in local and online premier tournaments (plus, they're for all skill levels). If you have enough points you'll be can compete in regionals, nationals, and internationals
It's honestly not that broken plenty of counterplay exists with its huge power it also has 2 4x weaknesses to worry about. Also dynamax nerfs quite a bit

I got out of competitive Pokemon ever since legendary Pokemon trios like Landorus and the Tapu Pokemon were allowed in competitive Pokemon. You can't easily breed those Pokemon.
It depends on the format. In 2022 2 restricted were allowed, bur right now in scarlet and violet no restricted are allowed. But I agree with you, I personally don't like restricted pokemon in VGC
