I owned and operated a collision repair shop for over 20 years and I wish this technology existed back then, the basic principle for all collision repair is to reverse the damage in the same way it occurred which is exactly what you do with a patient and methodical approach, love your work and the fact that you prove it pays to think outside the box.
I've been a bodyman for almost 20 years. Porshe and BMW trained. I'm always looking for a less invasive and gental way to repair vehicles. The sceptic in me would love to see the results in person. I have seen some extremely talented PDR guys but they never tackle these level of repairs. Regardless of wether or not your finished repairs weigh up to a trained eye, what you are doing is quite remarkable and I very much enjoy your channel. Keep up the good work👍
Hey man I'm a new subscriber and a entry level body repair technician. I've been in the body repair field since 2018 learning from the older guys who were still in it. I have seen PDR in the past but primarily hail damage and door dings. Man you are pulling things we would have ripped off and replaced with a OEM part in a heartbeat lol You Rock my friend. I had to watch about ten of your videos before I was a believer. Brother you truly are the man of steel, keep up the good work my friend
New to your channel and have been in autobody for 15 years. I spent 8 years on passenger vehicles when at the time it was mostly all steel. Now a lot of car parts are aluminum. Second part of my career was spending 7 years on semi trucks, busses, & heavy equipment, most of that stuff I worked on was aluminum and fibreglass. Thanks for sharing all the wonderful videos.
New subscriber here. I've always been fascinated with PDR, and watching your videos are making me think about a career change. I've been a service advisor for 20 plus years at a mechanical shop, but getting out from behind the counter and doing this sort of art work looks deeply satisfying. Thank you for making these videos. You are supremely talented!
I ran across your video just now. Awesome work. I pdr everything possible before I do any body work and refinishing. I’m in Dover Pennsylvania. York county and I have to say I’ve seen many so called pdr guys and they suck. Till they get done stretching the metal out and completely ruining the panel I’d make them leave unpaid and tell the shop owner about all the extra work they created. But of course I was the one who always took care of it. It was only me doing all the work and the owner wanted to only paint, I did everything involved in running the shop. But I only ever have minor body work and paint when they’re bad.
I'm 34 years old I've been at a shop since I was 17. Man I've seen you fix soooo many vehicles that we would've had to do bodywork and paint. U are the man of steel!!! God bless
Been watching the channel for a while. But been in auto collision refinishing for years. But I have been doing little PDR and would like to get a much better idea how it works. Watching your videos have been extremely helpful and interesting.
New subscriber captiivated by the new method of body work as I worked a summer 25 years ago at a New car dealership body shop when I was 14 and looked like I was 25 😂 i remember being the prep guy sanding and peeling entire cars with defective G.M. paint from brand new cars, one of the most memorable times of my life. Glad to see how the industry has improved and anyone with desire and patience can now do what only trained professionals used to do. Keep up the awesome 👍 work padré. You're doing the world a great service by posting. God 🙏 bless you and your family.
Yet another GREAT Video! I tried to guess where you’d put the glue tabs on the first pull! But got it half wrong! Thanks for another class video “Man of steel” It’s always greatly appreciated.
Another great video! Very interested to get some formal training once my hobby becomes more of a viable revenue stream. Better tools and some technique would go far for me. For newer cars I'm certainly using tabs and a pneumatic slide hammer, but some of the older (50s-70s) restorations, I'm using a stud gun or complete panel patch/replacement since the vehicle is getting fresh paint anyways.
Dachs Auto here is the link for some one on one training with me. secretpdrpaintlessdentrepairtrainingonline.com/ Thank you for sharing I really appreciate your comment!
I have been a PDR Mobile tech for approximate 25 years. With the majority of our work being small dents and dings , I will be watching many more of your videos to see if I could pick up some techniques on “PDR collision” type repairs. amazing work very nice.
I'm a painter and a bodyman, and even though I do believe you can make it look like its all perfect, I know to us the people that know how to do body work, it won't be perfect and you will always need to use a little bit of body filler and paint it again. That's just how it is. I have seen it and feel it
You're just butt hurt . I'm also a great body and paint guy ,also a pdr tech . Some work come out perfect ,way better than painting. Body filler? What you're talking about? Some of these works only need primer and block before painting.
You’re just kidding yourself if you think the traditional body shop method is the only way. This particular dent looks too far gone for PDR alone, but I use both PDR and traditional methods, & there is definitely a huge advantage to not having to repaint every repair.
Love your videos and knowledge on doing this ! See I can admit learning is greater than knowing ! I’ve been doing PDR and Bodyshop collision over 27yrs 😎👍🏻🇺🇸🦅

First time viewer, 40 years in the collision field. I know a few PDR guys, and it's pretty cool the results they get, without grinding welding and painting. I've been picking up new ideas from these guys, making the repairs less intrusive.
As always, great job. I love how you are always looking to improve your technique, tools and share your techniques with us. What temperature do you heat the panel to avoid paint damage?
@@DentDiscountPDRBodyShop Thank you! I've tried different temps but I'm always worried I'll get it too hot and ruin the paint. I'll keep it at 200 deg. or less from now on.
I went on a course to learn pdr which cost me around £1500 back in 2007 and I learned a lot but as the instructor said at the time, not everybody will be able to master this as it has a 80 to 90% fail rate so maybe 10 to 20 people in every 100 will be able to make a living from this. Regrettably I was one of the 90% but it did help me with my SMART repair business.

I'm a welder by trade and a supervisor by profession and won't have the time till I retire but I have to say I'm fascinated with your work and I'd love to learn how to do my own dent repair. Far from metal bodywork which is waayyy more evasive and expensive. Great work love the content
Truck driver here. My truck was hit on the driver side sleeper area in a hit-and-run at a truckstop. Anyhow, I have the option to take it to the shop and they'll take a month as they don't loose any money. Or, just attempt this myself. The damage is about 10x12 at the corner where the sleeper meets the door. Great video 👍

New subscriber here. I actually live in Brazil and this kind of work is relatively common here. What's not common is to fix the dent when the paint cracks as shown is this video. In this case, they rarely do touch ups, they weld, pull, burn holes (and the steel looses temper) and paint a large area instead - in order to "equalize" the paint. I think it's better to keep the paint most original, even when touch ups are not perfect.

That was a very well done job, I would do this job a little differently. I don't have all the tools you have, but it does the job too. Greetings from Brazil.
Great videos! Just started on my tractor. Started sand blasting, sanded, and now I can't see all the little dings. Some I've beat out and some I found by just pushing on them they came wright out. I've got the 1st coat primed. Very VERY excited to paint and get it back together. 1st Time ever doing something like this but Thanks to your Videos I feel it can be done.. Thank you sooo much and I'm sure there are many Many more out there that will use your Videos!!! GOD bless Everyone😇
I am a new subscriber and I think your methods are so needed in the auto industry most people don’t want to use inferior paint that doesn’t match or a few years down the road the car starts peeling the original paint if you could save it is the best thing and you just save that quarter panel five star quality thank you for the lesson
I've repaired my own dents. I use body hammers, dollies, and dent pullers. I have used a plumber's plunger before. I have 2 bottle jacks to sway panels. I have an orbital sander. I usually touch up the area with an air brush. I then compound the area to blend. 🐀🐾
2 questions 1.) What temp do you get the paint to or keep it under? 2.) Can you reuse those plastic pull tabs after use? If you have a video explaining all this is even better
hola, soy de argentina, nuevo en el canal y me dedico a la reparación de abolladuras, lo que haces es de otro nivel, felicitaciones! gracias por compartirlo.
I'm new here and new to diy body work. My pretty truck got dinged up by a fallen tree last storm. I'm trying to learn what will be the best route to fix it.. there's some decent dents but not too horrible I don't believe. I'm a new subscriber and I shall watch and learn all I can!
You just earned a new subscriber. Hot damn your techniques are brilliant!!! I'm more on the side of mechanical repair vs body work, but I CERTAINLY can still appreciate what you're doing here. It reminds me of sculpture, and for all intents and purposes, it is. You're just moving metal vs chipping away at rock. Both in the end are an art form and take serious skills to do well. I tip my hat to you sir. Amazing work!

That was a very well done job, I would do this job a little differently. I don't have all the tools you have, but it does the job too. Greetings from Brazil.
Thank you for sharing
Great videos!
Just started on my tractor. Started sand blasting, sanded, and now I can't see all the little dings. Some I've beat out and some I found by just pushing on them they came wright out. I've got the 1st coat primed. Very VERY excited to paint and get it back together.
1st Time ever doing something like this but Thanks to your Videos I feel it can be done.. Thank you sooo much and I'm sure there are many Many more out there that will use your Videos!!!

I'm starting my job at Tesla tomorrow morning doing pdr and body work and I'm grateful for channels like yours, I hope great things for you.
That was a awesome demonstration of dent removal by a teacher!
I am a new subscriber and I think your methods are so needed in the auto industry most people don’t want to use inferior paint that doesn’t match or a few years down the road the car starts peeling the original paint if you could save it is the best thing and you just save that quarter panel five star quality thank you for the lesson

Obrigado,,,pela aula Sr muito bom, de Boa Vista rr Brasil
I've repaired my own dents. I use body hammers, dollies, and dent pullers. I have used a plumber's plunger before. I have 2 bottle jacks to sway panels. I have an orbital sander. I usually touch up the area with an air brush. I then compound the area to blend. 🐀🐾
Right on DJ thank you for sharing I appreciate your comment

Thank you for your comment I really appreciate it
2 questions
1.) What temp do you get the paint to or keep it under?
2.) Can you reuse those plastic pull tabs after use?
If you have a video explaining all this is even better
I have more videos on my channel you can check out

DntNINJA thank you for your comment I really appreciate it
I'm new here and new to diy body work. My pretty truck got dinged up by a fallen tree last storm. I'm trying to learn what will be the best route to fix it.. there's some decent dents but not too horrible I don't believe. I'm a new subscriber and I shall watch and learn all I can!
U know PDR...u da king...wen i seen u cut wood blocks to use a pull block...unreal but turned out great
Bobby thank you for your comment
You just earned a new subscriber. Hot damn your techniques are brilliant!!! I'm more on the side of mechanical repair vs body work, but I CERTAINLY can still appreciate what you're doing here. It reminds me of sculpture, and for all intents and purposes, it is. You're just moving metal vs chipping away at rock. Both in the end are an art form and take serious skills to do well. I tip my hat to you sir. Amazing work!
