    Great work. It may be cheaper to replace and repaint the panel, but the finished result will never be as good as the original paint and finish. This is the real value in PDR - being able to retain the original panels and paint finish. I would prefer to pay more for PDR than the always lesser quality aftermarket paint finish. Well done!

      Thank you Riverside for your great comment I appreciate that and you’re absolutely right.
      I think Paintless Dent Removal as an Alternative repair method is massively under rated and that’s why I push my repairs over the internet to educate people on this amazing technique
      Thanks again

      No matter what anybody says, even the real experts in paint refinishing can never match the finish quality of your run off the mill cars of today. You can always spot a repaired/refinished panel - not just paint but also seam filling etc. Dirt nibs and fish eyes are common too - and the painter never get rid of all of them meaning you have to either take it back to them again! or live with an imperfect finish. I have tried plenty of so called gun panel shops and there has always been some kind of imperfection that I pick up. Drives me nuts, but over time you get worn down and your standards drop. At least with PDR, there is no paint or panel issues - if you use the correct lights you are essentially going over the panel with a fine tooth comb as part of your quality control.

      If the car is common enough you can find a door of the same color for $500 or so from a junkyard. Judging by what OP has for tools and the time he put into this... the job cost far more than $500.

    • @dentremover01
      @dentremover01  Місяць тому

      Thanks for your comment.
      There’s a lot of ways to look at this and while you are correct that you could by a SH door or panel for the car, if your not bothered about a slight difference in shade too then it’s perfectly fine to do this.
      I swapped a Nissan juke door the other month, the guy bought a SH door for £300 and I swapped it (internals etc) for 150 +vat
      A dent repair could be a similar price but you keep the panel original to the car and the paint isn’t an issue.
      Please don’t forget I also have a business to run, so the way I repair damage is with PDR. Many people want this type of repair rather than chance a SH panel or a repair and paint. Same goes for other businesses it’s all about personal preference and choice.
      This yellow wing repair and similar would be around the 500 +vat mark
      And fixed within a day. No taxis or missed days off work for the customer

    I am fascinated by your techniques and skills. I had a £1000 quote from a bodyshop to repair a small dent below a ridge line on my Jag door. The quote included £330 for "paint and materials"😳. When I asked them to justify it, they suggested I might get it done cheaper elsewhere. So I have done it myself with encouragement from your brilliant videos of your work. Of course, I am nowhere near as skilled or equipped as you but I have achieved a very passable result using hot melt pullers and gently knocking back the high spots. The result has left me with a very small repair, unfortunately not be paintless because it was scraped when the car was reversed into a concrete plant pot. Thanks.

I'd happily drive it around with a dent in it but the nearside rear light cluster now protrudes from the body panel by about an inch and a half so it's an MOT failure and likely to draw attention from unwanted agencies or individuals.

    • @dentremover01
      @dentremover01  2 місяці тому +2

      Thanks for great advice. I don’t have any ice at work unfortunately
      I did however use a spray (ice cold) and also heaps of cold water and a rag.
      It may have slightly helped like we do when panel beating with a torch. But as the power PDR box uses frequencies to shrink the metal it’s not needed.
      Trust me I tried ABSOLUTELY everything to shrink this like I said in my video
      The best method was a low power and voltage on the power box.
      Using water or ice back side could make the panel rust if not cleaned properly

      Thank you. I did ask a bodyshop to price a new door and repaint. It’s in the description for you to see the break down.
      My repair was cheaper than a new door +paint
      BUT it’s not always down to cost- if a customer is just shopping for the cheapest repair method then I’m not interested in spending the time and skill to save a panel like this. I’m an ex panel beater and can repair this in many ways, filler, door skin, second hand door. Then you need to pick a good painter but if it’s cost that’s the main focus there are super cheap painters but it will look absolutely crap- and then the owners wasted all that money
      Lots of factors involved but I know my repair was done to the highest standard and I should be awarded for the work
      =not cheap price!

      @ i am from Blackpool but have lived in California for 20 years. I started watching your channel as i have a bad bump in my rear wing. I reached out to local companies and they all said they cannot do it. It does not seem worse than your worst dent you have repaired. I wish I could borrow you over here.

    • @dentremover01
      @dentremover01  2 місяці тому

      Thanks! I tried this along with rag n water etc, ultimately it came down to low voltage and power on the machine worked best leaving the panel to cool on its own.
      I tried higher power n voltage but I didn’t get the best out of the shrinking.
      I used a fragrance spray for interiors to cool it- door still
      Smelt nice when it left the workshop!!

    Wow, incredible technique! In practice, if I understand correctly, by continuing to hit the material on both sides, the metal is as if it “stretches”. The electrical impulses help to restore the right “tension”, correct? Anyway, this time too the final result is of the highest level.
    For his part, the customer was lucky because the risk of damage to the paint in such a crash was very high.

    • @dentremover01
      @dentremover01  2 місяці тому

      Hi Massimo! Yes your right only I use the wand on the inside against bare metal only. It’s highly effective and saves the job plenty of times.

    hey its Ade's father in law again, wow i didn't think you would get them out and also how flexy is that paint, i had someone put a dent in my Honda prelude same depths as those two but just one and it instantly cracked the paint in multiple stretch lines, its still there as not got round to knocking it out but no chance of a paint-less removal for me lol

    • @dentremover01
      @dentremover01  Місяць тому

      Hi Ades Father hope you and family are well?
      This isn’t what I usually fix and I was originally going to fix the outer areas and save the door, letting a bodyshop fill the 2 sharp dents but as I had the time to fix and was being paid to try that’s what I did- and I’m glad I tried! I learn heaps from repairs like this.
      Sorry your Honda prelude wasn’t so lucky, nice cars I remember fitting a full rear end on one of those once! Boot floor and everything else!! Rear steering?
      Thanks for watching and commenting and take care
      Martin

      @philoffhistree6700 Місяць тому

      @@dentremover01 yeah iv got two of them one is rear steering the other is the base model that's the one with the nasty dent that fractured the paint, whole car needs a respray anyway so not really a big problem, just put a shorter ratio gearbox in it make 0 to 100 sick man lol just need to cut the rot above back arches weld some new metal in and do a full respray now on this one, then the other with 4 wheel stear is the vti vtech need to do a auto to manual swap and a full rebuild of everything suspension breaks all links all bushes all ball joints and many more bit plus partial engine rebuild at some point as want to turbo that one.
