These tire test videos are AWESOME man, I can’t believe no one else has done such comprehensive testing before! Really looking forward to more of this!
I’ve had the Arroyo Grand Sport A/S tires on my MYP for six months now. As a budget-friendly option, I’m quite satisfied with their performance. They provide good traction on dry surfaces and have performed well during the intense atmospheric river rains in California. Noise-wise, I believe they’re comparable to the original Michelin A/S tires that came with my car
If you're taking requests, can you do the Cross Climate 2's? I hear they get actual 40k+ miles on a Tesla, superior traction, less hydroplaning, even good in snow, but slightly more road noise and less efficient.
Great tire test. I like the Sailun tires for as cheap as they were. I got Vredestein winter ones also. If I get new tires I will put show then off and review them also.
I am seeing a lack of a "premium " tire here, BUT, I for one switched from oem 18" Michelin tires to 20" Westlake and with slightly lower MPG(or equivalent there of), the Westlake were 300% quieter and smoother feeling even at a lower profile.......Would like to see real data nor hearsay, and NO I am not affiliated with any brand!
Ben, as others have said, these tire reviews are outstanding and it's difficult to find anything in comparison to other Tesla content on YT. I'm in Tempe and always appreciate your local recommendations too and have used them. Dynamic Tint and also worked with Luca on my Tein shock install. Thanks!
Already at 1,12 test goes off as there is cars around you at highway when you measure noise readings. Was one or two tire set tested on gemini wheels, I think that should be mentioned and with wheelcovers on or not? Where are temperatures of the test day, sunny, cloudy, wind readings etc
I just put a set of Goodyear electric drive 2 tires on my MYLR. I came from the factory Goodyears, for reference. There are very few of these on the road right now apparently as the Goodyear dealer didn’t even know they existed and they were just released in May. So far, they are MUCH quieter with noticeably better ride feel than the old ones. I live in Ahwatukee btw. Your reviews are always helpful and funny.
Great video. Thanks for the info. I am on my second set of cheap all-season Chinese tires from Walmart Tire Center. About $380 installed for 4 new tires with free rotations and flat repair. I love them and have had no moderate or major problems. No noticeable increase in cabin noise. The range is a little less so what did I do?? I dropped my freeway speed from 74 mph to 72 mph and I get the same range. The first set of cheap tires lasted 33k miles (I could have used them for another 5-6k miles but I normally switch out a little early for peace of mind). In my opinion, no need for $1300+ installed tires for my 2018 Model 3 LR RWD. I do not take it to the track and I live in SoCal so no bad weather.
Good video. On a different topic, did you ever get much better results using your after market wheels? You tried after market forged wheels but did you ever receive better results?
You need to keep the tests all on the same size (and weight) wheels. Otherwise you've basically changed more than one variable and your results reflect that, when originally you were trying to isolate differences in just the tires.
Why do you provide the watt hour per mile for only one of the tests, then you provide this arbitrary “vehicle range“ which is dependent on the battery pack size of your specific vehicle? You are just forcing us to have to calculate the white hour per mile based on the ratio from the values on your first test… It’s a little ridiculous  WHr/mi is directly comparable, no matter what EV any of us own.
When I bought new wheels for the Model Y they came with cheap Sailun tires. They are much better than I thought. But I agree. I prefer Michelin if I have a choice. Made a video on the Sailun.
Cheap tires won't kill you ..they will wear faster .. chances of them popping is very slim . I drove with cheap tires all my life and never had an issue
it isnt worth spending huge amount of money on expensive tite unless you have money. i have cheap chinesse tiores on my model 3 i replaced and i dont see any diffrence in range at all. i think its all bull shit. to pay for expenisve tires
@@Gjeebs not really very minut diffrence , in my ipinion not worth the extra money, my 4 tires cost me $450. and work just fine. if you wanna spend more knock yourself out, i am sure they will love you more.

These Arroyos are excellent tires and they are identical to American Roadstar Sport A.S.
Love Hankook ! Bloody good on my MY

I've been very satisfied with the Hankooks over the factory Continentals. Ride seems smoother.

You missed the most important test of 60 to 0. Nothing matters as much as stopping distance!
I have no good way of testing that sadly
@@Gjeebs Buy a accelerometer which you mount on the dash/window and brake when driving in 60 down to 0...

Gald to hear that! Thanks for the support
Great video again!
Good stuff, Gjeebs! FYI, my wife has a PhD. in girl math. Pray for me

Good to know! might have to try yours out

Do you have brand or model #?
“That’s girl math right there. You bought something and you got a discount so you think you saved money even though you spent money.” 😂
Another easy to get insightful no BS video, love them!
Have/Can you test the Pirelli Scorpion M+S es that came with a few batches of the Model Y 23?
Good video. On a different topic, did you ever get much better results using your after market wheels? You tried after market forged wheels but did you ever receive better results?
I will be testing those soon
@@Gjeebs thanks. Keep up the great videos
Nice video. Were the wheels mounted wrong orientation 😅. But looks like you corrected it.
I live in Tucson, so it is not cold or snowy anytime of the year. What do you think about summer tires all year long vs all season?
All season last longer than summer tires because summer tires are a softer compound I run Pirelli Scorpion A/S on my Model X and I'm in Phoenix

What happened to the Unplugged Performance wheels?
I have them still I am just testing tires on the OEM wheels and then I will throw those back on
Great video! How does those Hankook compare to the Michelin Pilot 4 All season ?
I’m also interested in knowing this
Thanks Gjeebs another great and informative video
you’re welcome
Can you tell me the model of the Sailrun tires you used for this test?
like your augusta,Ga masters golf cup.
Thank goodness you got rid of that stache lol. Good video as always !
Nice Masters swag 👀👀👀
4:18 😂😂😂😂😂
Is this on the performance or the LR
LR speed boost
Don’t forget to add price! Can’t remember if sailun was cheap or not
Sailun was $250 so its in the middle of these two
Santan 202?
Ripping off engineering explained’s thumbnail huh? Respect the hustle
Great topic!
good content 👍🏼
Give this video a like. Help him out. Great work Gjeebs! Thanks for the data.
haha Thank you. Thousands spent on this for almost no return but some good data

Why buy cheap tires when they put your life at risk? Premium tires are the best “insurance” you can buy!

Tire manufacturing is a highly profitable business. You pay extra for design choices not build quality.
Choosing an electric may be a bad idea.
Wrong comment for this channel. A real mistake is when ur dad put his d in yo mom produce a fail product like urself
Get some atturo thank me later
Your Trump stuff is terrible, and funnier than sh1t all at the same time. Please keep it up. I laugh my ass off. 👍
Comfort in a tesla is wishful thinking, my MY23 is worse than a corolla we upgraded from.
