    • Tire Pressure and Maintenance: Proper tire pressure (42 PSI for most Teslas) is essential. A portable compressor can help maintain this, and rotating tires regularly is advised for longevity.
    • Timestamp: Watch from beginning
    • Chill Mode to Save Tires: Using chill mode can save tire wear due to the electric motor’s torque. It makes acceleration smoother and extends tire life without sacrificing performance significantly.
    • Timestamp: Watch from 1:44
    • Use of Tesla Service and Parts: Highlighted the importance of utilizing Tesla’s service centers for parts and maintenance, including replacing missing clips and parts.
    • Timestamp: Watch from 2:58
    • Wiper Blades Replacement: Recommends replacing wiper blades every 1-2 years. A specific brand offering long-lasting replacements with additional wiper strips was mentioned.
    • Timestamp: Watch from 4:27
    • Cleaning Interior Windshields: Emphasizes cleaning the inside of windshields, especially for smokers or vape users, to improve visibility.
    • Timestamp: Watch from 6:55
    • Cabin Air Filters Replacement: Suggests replacing cabin air filters with HEPA filters for better air quality and to avoid musty smells. A kit including tools for easy replacement was recommended.
    • Timestamp: Watch from 9:14
    • AC System Maintenance: Cleaning the AC condenser and replacing the cabin filters can significantly improve the efficiency of the AC system.
    • Timestamp: Watch from 10:48
    The video emphasizes low-cost, easy-to-perform maintenance tasks that Tesla owners can do themselves to keep their cars running efficiently and extend the life of various components.

    A few times a year I remove the wiper blades, clean them and apply 303 Protectant to the wiper blades. Makes them last a lot longer. There is a hidden 3rd clip for the AC condenser behind the right lower clip (driver side) It will allow you to pull the panels further apart for deeper access to clean between the two panels. Wedge something in there like a screwdriver handle to keep the panel gap open.

    Suggestion when replacing the wiper blades: Place a towel between the wiper arm and the windshield. Should the wiper arm slip when trying to insert the new blade, it won't go crashing into the windshield glass and possibly cracking the windshield.
    PS, thanks for the tip that you can manually move the wiper arms when in wiper service mode beyond the couple of inches it raises up when you hit the (virtual) button. I just washed my Y this week and had a devil of a time trying to clean the wiper blade (driver's side in particular) using the default position of wiper service mode.

      Most luxury brand vehicles have this feature. My 2015 Audi A6 has this same feature when servicing the wiper blades. Glad to see Tesla has this as well.

    Great video. Glad to see you can service the condenser without taking off the bumper. There is a video of this same service on UA-cam, but the guy took the bumper off...I was shocked that this was happening. Now I see its simple and that was over kill. This is a great video for that reason.
    That tire pressure tool is what I need. Thanks for that.
    Agreed, driving habits play a high part in tire ware. Quattro Audi with 40/60 all the time..with torque vectoring..if I drive to aggressive..bye bye 45k life. Sport mode is not a friend to your tires.

    One other big issue is put a screen on the front air intake for the Condenser, that keeps bugs bees and other vermin from plugging up you fine fin channels on your Condenser, great to prevent early AC compressor failures from over use due to plugged up Condensers. I did that day 20 of getting my Tesla new.

      Most service centers for ICE recommend based on mileage..I would guess EVs are no different. You definitely need to replace and clean your engine bay probably.

    The one thing I noticed is be careful when you vacuum the AC condenser because if you smash the blades down it's not going to work as well

    I took my Y into the Tesla service center in east Mesa and a few months later when replacing the 12v battery I found a nice screwdriver left behind by the service guys. I also noted that they forgot a clip or two.

      😂. It happens. Had my an older audi before my newer one..had the high pressure washer service done on my engine due to bad carbon buildup..it was a tsb and was covered under an extenended manufacture warrenty..long story..they had to decouple my exhaust assembly for it..and left it uncoupled when they gave it back to me. Terrible rattling... took it to my local indy shop...bolted back up..all good. Yah, service centers leave junk or forget to bolt shit back. It happens to everyone.

    Great job but an AC Condenser should also be cleaned no just vacuumed. Here is BC Canada we get mildew and moss buildup, and there are many foaming cleaners specifically designed for the aluminium fins and coils that will give you far better cleaning of the Condenser (the large radiator in the from). I did my air to air ductless heat pump Condenser on the house and reduced my energy consumption by about 30%. My 2023 Model Y long range AWD (Fremont built) here in Canada, is just shy of 1 year old, The Model Y's are now coming from China.

    What window washer fluid do you recommend? I’ve heard the ones with the bug remover can cause issues for teslas.

    I seen someone using a extremely cheaper version of that evaporator cleaner and they said that it worked perfectly fine. I see it being sold for around $5 on amazon and not $70 like that bottle you're holding. Just saying. I don't need the Starbucks version of the cleaner. Also working at a Sears Auto Center as a teen, from what I've seen. I am paranoid taking my car anywhere. Besides it's relaxing to do these things. You get to see parts of your car that normally you wouldn't.

    Thumbs up for outside the bun thinking on the plastic piece protecting the wiper replacement parts. Also, for changing out cabin filter... the Tesla Owners Manual no longer shows removing the trim below glove box as necessary to get to filters. Is that because newer models can get to filters by just removing center console trim... or all teslas can get there without removing trim below glove box?

    • @Gjeebs
      @Gjeebs  6 місяців тому +1

      Not sure why it doesn't list those. As you can see they get filthy so I would still replace it.

    • @ajlanger5
      @ajlanger5 6 місяців тому

      @@Gjeebs sorry for any confusion. My comment wasn’t about replacing the air filters themselves (completely agree they get filthy) but how to get to them. In your video you remove trim below glove box and also trim on side of center console. OM now says you only need to remove trim on side of center console to reach the air filters.

    Ser the pee windshield cleaning method you suggested left the inside of my vehicle with urine odor. Maybe I should've used a clean towel when trying to remove the "vape layer," on the inside after the exterior urine cleaning.
