I sat in on drums one night in Atlanta w/ the Eric Burdon Band & he asked me what I wanted to play. Without hesitation I screamed: "See See Rider!" It was great, & I soaked up every second. they got enough respect; people heard of them. Burdon probably had the best pure rock voice of the popular early 60s Brit bands. Better than the singers in the Beatles, Kinks and Yardbirds. You could make the case that his voice had more of the "it" factor than Jagger or Daltrey. Certainly their equal. Burdon was a troubled soul. Perhaps his antics contributed to the public not embracing him as much as the others.
