    So pleased I stuck around for the mosaic cow. Love daft things like that in random places 👍
    Portugal gets praised by a fair few rail UA-camrs. It is on my list... but its a long list. Lovely to see Mrs TT 👍

      Thank you so much! The weather was fabulous. There was a definite wintry feel on our return to the Highlands.

      Thanks so much for watching. We never knew a seat could be so exciting but we live and learn!

    Unusual to see real platforms, normally used to trains being on track level and climbing stairs to get onboard, like in Italy. Nice seeing their version of the Far North Line - old trains, slow service.. :) I noticed a lot of building work along the route. What am absolutely fantastic way to see the real country and not just the touristy bit :) i did notice the graffiti on the train and was going to say how we don’t get that…. But I did see a 158 in Inverness covered in graffiti recently

      Portugal is a beautiful country and there’s nothing quite seeing it from a train window. Far North Line Portuguese style!

    Fantastic train fantastic video! Loving those exit mechanisms for the doors (although I’d have been fumbling about with no idea how to leave)

      It was a great train, I’m probably too nostalgic but older trains seem to have more character. (Including awkward door mechanisms!) Thanks for watching mate, it’s greatly appreciated.

    A superb video as always, I love how Mrs Tim's travels is now the authority on seat reviews now.
    I've never really given much thought to Portugal, somewhere I really must visit more of, you have definitely gone off the beaten track and explored what looks like the real Portugal, where the tourists wouldn't go.

      Portugal is beautiful. Well worth exploring and I'd say we have unfinished business there. Funnily enough we thought we were headed somewhere not too touristy - we were wrong! All will be revealed. 😂

      @@Timstravels01Looking forward to your next video! I must make a trip to Lisbon, would be nice to try out the trams they have there, or even Porto.

    Who was it said "Try everything once, and the nice things twice"? Well, I'm watching this for the second time. I've just checked and it was nine years ago since my incredibly kind and hospitable friends in Lisbon took me to Óbidos. They'd already got me to sample ginja (pronouced "ginger") in Lisbon, so I knew what to expect. I've never been on a CP train but I've gazed at them - and their fares - longingly, and visited a fair few of the stations. You've definitely got a nose for the good places to visit.

      Óbidos was lovely and I was incredibly impressed with CP. I've definitely got unfinished business with Portugal. We took some ginja home with us...it's good to support the local economy.

    Nice video! Surely a little used line, but is the work to electrify? I've seen reversible seats like that in Sydney, and on other Australian and NZ trains reversible by rotating around. Hope you're enjoying a stay in Portugal!

    • @Timstravels01
      @Timstravels01  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching. Aye the line is being prepared for electrification but as I understand it there have been some issues on the progress. I always enjoy using the line less traveled. Maybe I need to go to Sydney to check out the reversible seats there!
