Wow, look at baby faced King Robertus back in the day. Besides big telly (or live of course) this one is-was-will (always) be great for the indie disco dance floor.
Great band! And I love the Peavy gear in the background. There’s ampeg and Marshall but peavy was way more affordable and functioned to expectations and was used by many great productions
Someone told me the cure is not rock n roll. Told them they need to watch them sing this 5 minute song after being told to end early cause next act is complaining.
Funny cuz Simon(bassist) screaming "f Rock n roll" by the end of the performance, the cure had punk roots which turned into new wave and they were a post-punk band back in the day, so they were far from what Rock n roll stood for, but the cure for sure rocks hard!
@@david_post_punk The Cure played something like a 2 hour set a few years ago at Lollapalooza......jealous of all who got to see them. I remember the cure from back in early 80s. Was young but clear as day. I agree with you with punk roots to new wave. I like to think he was a big influence on the goth look too along with a few others.
Send them to the Munich 84 video where they open with shake dog shake and let those grungy gnarly guitars and funky ass bass and Andy Anderson on drums slap them around and change their mind on that for SURE! ❤️🔥
The early stages of Robert's gimmick development are interesting. You can see him experimenting a bit here with the eye black, but it's still subtle. The fully developed gimmick is so derivative. I prefer the subtlety of early Robert to the stereotype he developed into. And he looks ridiculous as a fat old man still going on stage in that gimmick.

Travis Bickle I’m pretty sure I’m responsible for 1/3 of all your views 😂❤️🔥🖤 thank you for all of these!
Sounds cliché but this never gets old. I listen to it again and again and again and again and again . . . .
A Forest is a Pure beauty , The early Cure , my favorite period, The Magical three, Smith, Galup, Tolhurst 😍🎸🎙🥂
This is the track that really got me into the cure. I still listen to it with my dad, who introduced me to it, all the time
the sound of the guitar is absolutely incredible !
Transistor amplifier with a really good guitar. Bingo.
@@Ontariosoundplus Boss chorus and phaser pedals
@@PersonManDudeBro Plus a Robert Smith. Don't forget the Robert Smith.
That voice.. god it’s so insanely haunting and unique and ❤️🔥🔥🖤
Love how epic and brutal this live version starts
Frigging amazing. Guitar playing is out of this world.
This song is so godly, especially in person
First time I heard them play this live was one of the best concert experiences of my life.

The pinnacle of early Cure along with Pornography..
Anyone else notice that huge hickey on Robert’s neck? 😂
Screw Robet Palmer.
What a gem
The cure...orange '86/87 best performance of the forest
Well, I brought this album cos of this track way back then. It's the bass hook that gets me. Then 21 agains
You old fossil Travis!
... precious gem..., thank you! 🎶💜
This is my little sister’s favorite
First time I ever felt envious of Belgium.

great great version, so calm, so emotional. great band!
Best version , punky
A great way to piss off and put two fingers up to the following act for making them hurry their set🖤👍
An immense live performance of this classic. Everything about this is perfect. (Except the headband 😂).
❤🖤❤🖤❤🖤

the cure is alternative rock

Make your Bets Boys😂😂😂😂😂😂
They where brilliant back then, very similar to the southern death cult /the cult.
They don't make musicians like Robert Smith anymore. Everyone is on Tik Tok making 20 second shorts.
Even today, we have great musicians, and back then, there was no TikTok, but there was also a lot of cheap, standard music.
Jt la
This band will never make it.
i like robert palmer but... the cure is WAY better.

The Cure are fucking legend, and STILL the best live band. And their new songs are some of their best ever. Sorry you are missing out.
