This is amazing. I was a skinny little dweeb in the mid eighties when this song meant the world to me. It was transformative. This very song shaped my young mind. To think Robert is singing this song, so perfectly after all of these years, amazes me. It’s so amazing.
I had to close my eyes because portly Robert Smith makes me giggle, but with my eyes shut, they sound amazing. This is the first Cure song I ever heard (circa 80-81) and also my favorite. If they didn’t do it justice, you’d hear about it. They more than do it right here. I have no grounds to make fun of Smith’s weight. I’ve gained a few as I aged and I’m only six years younger than him. But I can’t help myself. If they played near me, I’d go in a heartbeat (and I’d probably need to be led around blindfolded).

I had to close my eyes because portly Robert Smith makes me giggle, but with my eyes shut, they sound amazing. This is the first Cure song I ever heard (circa 80-81) and also my favorite. If they didn’t do it justice, you’d hear about it. They more than do it right here.
I have no grounds to make fun of Smith’s weight. I’ve gained a few as I aged and I’m only six years younger than him. But I can’t help myself. If they played near me, I’d go in a heartbeat (and I’d probably need to be led around blindfolded).
