💕
Turned out nice!
Just what I was looking for!
Love this!!
Very pretty! I had to keep turning volume up and down because the music was way too loud!
Sorry about that. Tfw
Same here
same. Or her voice audio was too low. Either way I had to keep a finger on the volume
And annoying.
Same
Looks fabulous!
Beautiful job
Turned out great. I just thrifted a coffee table and will be refurbishing it too.
Cool. Good luck with your project. Tfw
Wow that table turned out incredible very nice job looks great.
Beauuutifullll!!
So beautiful
I have been looking for a tutorial for my DIY dining room in this particular style of colors and wood painting. I am so happy I found your video! 👍🏼
Glad you found me. Tfw
Ty so much I am excited to redo my coffee table. I have done a dressor ans bedframe before but your techniques are amazing 👏
Gorgeous!
WOW! Gorgeous!
Thank you. Tfw
Beautiful work! You put so much love into this piece and it shows 👍
Thank you. Thanks for watching
Absolutely stunning😍
Thank you and tfw
Beautiful!
Thank you. Tfw
Nice job! It would be nice to see the products you used by holding them up longer. Music was too loud.
I was a little scared for you after you did the first coat on the top, but the finished product looks amazing!
Awesome! Love it.
It’s BEAUTIFUL. Can you tell us how much paint to water ratio you used for the top?
So Beautiful I love this piece
Thank you. Tfw
Nice job! The black wax over the chalk paint came out really gorgeous. I do like the look and the solid bottom. However, if the table top is going to be moderately used wax is fine, if heavy duty, I would use a flat or satin top coat for sure like GF. Thanks
Hi there. Thank you so much for watching. I just want to report that the table is still looking really good. I run a home daycare and the table gets used all the time. I do think it’s the brand of wax that makes a difference.
Can you plz link what you used or else just make a detailed description of products used? Loved how this turned out btw! I want my coffee table just like this!
Very nice!!
Thank you. Tfw
It's beautiful! However I thought the beauty & purpose of chalk paint was to cut prep time. I wonder if the same result could have been achieved by just cleaning the table & painting?
I totally agree with you the chalk paint does cut the time by no prep. However I wanted to have a stained effect and wanted the wood grain to show. That is why I did what I did. It’s just another way that you can use chalk paint. If you just painted over it it would not show the wood grain. I think either way is good. It’s just a personal choice. Thanks for watching
@@DomesticDivaDIY That makes sense to do with older, heavily stained/varnished furniture to bring out grain. Beautiful work: )
Good job very nice 👍
Thank you. Tfw
what a great transformation. I have a coffee table that needs redoing and I think im going to replicate what you did. thanks for taking the time and effort to produce these videos. My only negative is the music is too loud. I ended up turning the volume off and turning on closed caption. so I could get the information from you without the loud music.
Good video nice job!
Thank you. Tfw
Beautiful work! I want to do the same for my diy dining room set, can you tell me if you used grey or white for the bottom of the table? It looks white, but you used grey for the top. Thank you.
Yes I used old white for the bottom and Paris gray for the top
Очень красиво!
Love it! And don't worry bout the comments on the music! They can turn their volumn down!
I know I can. Thank you so much for being kind. We grow and learn with each video. Thanks for watching
Hi, I love how your table came out...I want to do the same thing to my coffee table, may I ask how much water you used for the Paris grey paint for the top? Thank you
It was one to four ratio. One tbs of paint to four tbs of water. Thank you so much. Tfw
It turned out so pretty! How does it hold up to use with just the wax finish? Do you have to be really careful?
It holds up just as good as with any other finish. I run a home daycare and kids are always putting stuff on it and it’s still in great condition. Thanks for watching
Great video the music was driving me nuts ....
We all start somewhere. Some people love music and don’t want anything else and some don’t. Personal preference. Can’t please everyone
Hi, love your video , how many coat did you dit on the top with the gray paris color??
Thank you. Just one with Paris gray.
Once you did the bottom it just brought everything together! Looks great!
Edit: How is the table doing now? I have a beautiful yellow orangey(the color isnt the best but the style is and it’s blemish free)oak dining table I am wanting to do this to. However, we eat at this table and I’m afraid it won’t hold up. Was your table very durable?
Thanks so much for watching. The table is doing great. No complaints. I run a home daycare and the kids are constantly around the table touching it, putting stuff on it. Hope this is helpful
I love how your piece turned out! How do you prevent tannins from bleeding through on the top where you sanded to raw wood?
So I haven’t had it happen on this piece. I know there are some type of primers you can use to prevent it but I personally haven’t used one. Thanks for watching
Dixie Bell Boss, Shellac
Could you please share the water to chalk paint to stain the top surface? Thank you!!!
So the paint to water ratio is one paint to four parts of water. I used tbs as a measurement. Than when it dried I used black wax from Annie Sloan. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks for watching
Hi, beautiful your work, I would know what pain you used for top?
I used Annie Sloan Chalk paint in color Paris Grey and I watered it down. Once it was dry I applied Black Wax by Annie Sloan. Thanks for watching.
How much water did you add to get this look
Beautiful! How do you maintain the table with everyday cleaning (what products do you use on it?) Do you rewax annually?
I haven’t re waxed it yet. It’s still looks fine. Daily cleaning I use microfibre cloth with some water. Occasionally I polish it with wood polish. I use the Method brand. Thanks for watching
@@DomesticDivaDIY Thank you so much for your reply!! : )
Hey this looks fab, what black dye did you use?
I used Annie Sloan black wax.
Looks great! I want to do the same thing with my coffee table. Could you tell me the brands and colors of the paint you used on top and botton please?
I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in old white. The top is AS Paris Gray and AS black wax.
I also applies AS clear wax at the end to the whole piece
I used chalk paint on a table and the paint comes off easily on the corners. Is that an normal issue or did I miss something?
What was the dark color u put on top? Was it dark wax?
Yes
What white paint did you use, btw love the table 👌
Thank you. It’s Annie Sloan chalk paint in old white. Thanks for watching
Did you use the mineral oil on the body before painting it? What grey color did you use and how did you water it down is there a certain amount of paint per drops of water you need to add ?
And please list all the supplies you used
I do talk about all the supplies and the step by step process in the video. The ratio is one part paint to about four part water depending how thick you want the paint to go on. Thanks for watching
I was trying to make sure I get the same mineral oil and wood thinner because I absolutely love the way your piece came out and I love your video you made I’m trying to get all the exact materials you have because when I do my furniture I’m going to watch your video again step by step that way hopefully my stuff comes out just as good as yours thank you again for being the only person to attempt this color on the surface of the table because that was exactly what I was going for thank you !!
What type of scraper did you use?
Just a paint scraper from Home Depo. Tfw
Hi! I am upcycling an old table of mine that looks similar to this, I’ve been following your video and only did one layer of the Paris grey on top, you don’t suggest a second coat? It looks like in your video you only did one also but it also looks like it is covered a bit better than mine. I figure with the black wax I’m not gonna be able to tell anyways but I was just wondering. I know this video was a bit old so it’s okay if you don’t respond. Figured I would try anyways lol.
Hi there. I would just leave it at one coat. You want the wood grain to show through. Thanks so much for watching. I would love to see the end result.
@@DomesticDivaDIY It came out so good that I decided to do my end tables as well and another table! I would share pictures but I don’t use UA-cam comments often and don’t think I can add them here. 😅
Was there a reason for taking out the finish. I usually see everyone just painting over the top or whatever!?
That is actually a really good question. The reason why I sanded it (which you totally don't have to ) I wanted to show the wood grain. When I painted it it with chalk paint I watered down the chalk paint a lot so it made it go on like stain and the wood grain showed through really nice. If I just applied the chalk paint on it it would not show the wood grain. This is a first time I sanded a piece completely.
Nancy Bisogno I believe she too it off so she could have that wood grain look for the top.
What is the name of the painting?
Do you mean the paint? It’s Annie Sloan old white for the bottom and black wax with watered down AS Paris gray. Otherwise not sure what painting you are talking about. Thank for watching
It’s BEAUTIFUL. Can you tell us how much paint to water ratio you used for the top?
I would say one paint to four water. You can always play around with it until you get the consistency that you like. Thanks for watching
could you list all the product you used?
Not answer yet ? What she used
what wax was used?
Morgan Trenkler I used Annie Sloan clear wax
This looks amazing. When you painted the white part, did you have to sand first? I'm going to copy you exactly for mine haha.
Thanks for watching. I am glad you liked it and I inspired you. No I didn’t sand any of the parts that I have painted white
Could you please list the waxes you used? Thank you
Thank you for watching. I used black and clear wax by Annie Sloan
Hi! Will you post the products you used in this project? I need to know what to buy.
Hi there. All the products that I buy are listed in the video as I am using it
The music really detracted. I’m still hearing it in my head. Nice work.
I do apologize for that. I think over the years I have fixed that in my videos. We learn as we grow. Tfw
Table looks nice. Only thing I could hear was the music. I have no idea how you made the top finish/paint/whatever.
Too bad you didn’t watch the video because I actually stop the music and explain each step.
@@DomesticDivaDIY, granted my laptop has serious audio issues; however, I watched this vid twice (once before my first comment, again after your snarky comment). I turned down the video audio because of the loud music during the first viewing and wasn't able to hear your narration at all - didn't know you were talking. This time, I turned the video audio to max and could barely hear you - not well enough to clearly make out what you were saying, except at the end when you were saying how pleased you were with how it turned out. But you did not 'actually stop the music and explain each step,' you described only some steps near as I could tell.
I hope your rudeness is simply due to having a bad day today; if so, you have my sympathy (been there, done that, got the tee shirt).
Why do you have to strip it please
You don’t have to. Chalk paint will go over it. But I wanted to really show the wood grain and and watering down chalk paint it made it almost like a stain. If I just went over it without stripping it with such dark stain on it the wood grain would not show. Thanks for watching
You got it from a “neighbour” not a friend ?? 😢
catdogslver who is this? Lol you know you are my forever friend 😘😝🤗
Awesome job, wish people would do away with the the annoying music stuff in between.
Hard to please everyone. Some want music some want talking. I usually do what I like in other videos. Thanks so much for watching.
I don’t know why you would would do all of that prep work besides cleaning. The beauty of chalk paint is to skip all that prep. So much easier!
I totally agree. However I was using a technique that makes chalk paint almost into a stain and all that beautiful wood grain shows through. If I just painted it you wouldn’t be able to see the wood grain. Annie Sloan (queen of chalk paint) has tons of tutorials on it. Check her out.
I love your work and I appreciate the ideas I get from you! But... that music is so irritating.
The finished table looks great but the music is really irritating. I found it hard to watch the process as I had to keep turning the volume up and down between when you were speaking and the music was on.
So pretty I wish she had a list of products and brand she used. Tutorial like this is not very helpful.
I do list them in the video.
Good video, but PLEASE turn down the volume of the music!
If you watch some of my newer videos you can see that the music is much better. Tfw
Video is great but the music has to go. I would rather have silence. Good work on the table.
Great video but music is really annoying
Thanks for watching. Some love the music some don’t. Can’t please everyone
Nice table by the music was very annoying
Beautiful table outcome. The fast forward BACKGROUND MUSIC WAS SO AWEFUL. Sorry😢
Hello Dear, I am not learning much from this video if you dont show correctly or describe the products you are using on every face. Without advertising them you could specify what you are using.
I do you just have to watch the video. I show the paint and the waxes as well as the stripper I used and the sanding disks.
Great video, music terrible
I’m glad you liked the video. Would love it if you checked out some of my newer makeovers and let me know what you think about the music. It’s work in progress
Such a shame that so many people are doing this to furniture that has so much character and style,... Chalk paint is a fad, it will be gone at some point and all this beautiful furniture will either remain ruined or cost a fortune to restore.... such a shame.
I have actually saved this piece from going into the garbage. Thanks for your opinion.
