This is probably the most beautiful flip I have ever seen. I have a dining room table and hutch that I'm thinking about doing like this. Remodeled my living room and dining room last year and the colors of blue, beige and white. If I could pull this technique off I think it would look beautiful. You did an outstanding job I love watching your videos ❣️
Some of the nicest shading I’ve ever seen. And thank you for painting the inside frame of the drawers. I never understand why someone does all the work to restore furniture and they missed the details. Looks very nice
I love this! I have a full set of this in what I believe is the medium cherry stain finish. My parents bought it for me when I was one, just before my sister was born. It is by Henredon Drexel. I also inherited from my mother in law a white desk that matches it in every way, but color. I have been planning on painting it a pretty blue, but wanted some sort of blending, but not in a crazy sort of way. Now before anyone gets excited about me painting a 60 yo real wood bedroom set, it has survived 2 girls (my sister & I shared a room) and that means nail polish spills, nail polish remover spills, makeup, hairspray, Clairol Kindness 20 that you put water in to steam the rollers, etc. Painting it would be a kindness to re-beautify to be used & enjoyed for at least another 60 years. :D Beautiful job on the dresser!
Wow that’s just great! I painted one of those dressers a few months ago. It’s by far the nicest piece I have painted. They are so special when they are real wood. And I wouldn’t worry about painting it because if you ever change your mind or if you pass it on someday and they want it natural they can always strip it and stain. Every time I start feeling guilty about painting a piece I think it’s OK because Paint is not permanent 😊
No joke, I agree excellent tutorial and showing the steps well. I FINALLY think I can give this a try on some stacking tables I wanted to blend and then have really pretty french country transfers. But didn't want to to waste expensive transfers til I was sure I could do it justice with painting!
That's beautiful. The blending technique makes the drawer fronts almost look beveled! And the top paint job makes it look like natural white-washed wood!
Turned out beautifully. I appreciate that you have a continuous flow of information going on each part of your project including many “Whys” about what you’re doing. Thank you.
I have this whole bedroom set in the French white which has yellowed with age. I love mine but I really love what you did. My set was made in the 1960s or before. Very good workmanship.
Your explanations and teaching techniques are superior to most videos I have seen. You covered every detail and explained everything so thoroughly. I love that you show your products and your color choices &tell how long to wait for it to dry, how to patch up wood, how to blend & shade. The white washing on top is beautiful. I am looking for your separate video on white washing & have not found it. Please repost. Your techniques are above & beyond. And I am a retired teacher. A+ for you!! 👏
This is absolutely stunning! I would NEVER believe that you are not comfortable with shading and blending, because I would certainly consider you a pro!!!
Thank you!! 🤣🤣 I’ve heard that a few times now but it’s okay lol Chalk paint comes off easily with soap and water. It’s when I’m using oil based primers I need a dropcloth😬I’ve learned my lesson priming🤦♀️
Same here because I’m learning and I’m definitely not natural! It made me feel so much better when she said it’s was the hardest thing for her to do. Phew! 😊
I use this technic with oil based i choose a white color for the base then I mixed clear varnish with some paint and I applied the trick of faux wood with my brush and I was so proud with the final result of wardrobe it looks so good
Love the shades of blue. Great job on the blending. The top is great too and I really like the white wash you did over the grey. Great video. Thanks !!
I have watched this video about eight times and I am in awe every time I watch it I am getting ready to do a project on a piece at my job and I want to do something like this.
@@FlipItFurniture your blending technique is good. (I know you were speeding up the playback) but nonetheless maybe if you slowed down and took your time a bit more ... you look like you're a quick worker. When you slow down you can be a little more deliberate and mindful about the placement of your colors and where the blended edges fall. Makes it easier to get a consistent pattern. But really beautiful!
This is so romantic and feminine looking. I love it so much since I have same piece I am going to attempt your technique. Have had this set for 40 years. In good shape yet, but it's boring after so long. Thanks for the inspiration.
Don’t mix vertical and horizontal strokes when blending. Every time you switch, you essentially start over. Back and forth with a clean brush where the colors meet is easiest. Don’t go fully into either color until it’s blended. Half the brush in color one, the other half in color 2, go back and forth, move up and down about 50% while doing horizontal strokes. It’s fast and easy
This is absolutely beautiful! I love the shading effect you did! I just found your channel today and I am so happy I did!! Thank you for the inspiration!! Much love!💖
The Dresser looks great. When I saw the thumbnail for the video, I thought the top was natural wood. The top turned out great I thought. Great job, thanks for sharing and cheers.
That dresser is absolutely gorgeous! I've never seen a "flip" blended like that before (or any furniture, really) and it's stunning! Thanks for sharing, it was so much fun watching!
Beautiful dresser💙 I’m thinking about redoing for the first time my cherry traditional bedroom furniture. Nervous for sure. You make it look easy. Not sure of the products names you mentioned but replay. Thanks for sharing your talent.
I have that exact dresser. I didn’t prep or sand or prime it at all. I just painted it a nice grey. It turned out great! In retrospect I should have sanded and primed the top. But it was one of my first pieces and i heard chalk paint sticks to everything. This looks so amazing. Now I wanna redo mine!
Another flipper had the identical dresser. It didn't sell with sacred sage sandy ehite wash.Thought it was wonderful. He repainted it a bright pinf and did the carvings in gold. Very bright and quite lovely. Both unique.😊
Love it! Simple, Gorgeous, and Beachy!!!! I have a huge piece that has rounded fronts, and I think this is just what it needs! Thank you for your inspiration!
Beautiful job! I love blending! About to tackle my inherited French Provincial dresser and mirror for my art studio! I’m thinking about doing this technique using greens. Thanks for sharing. Love love love the driftwood top. Totally doing that! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Have Not even Watched it yet, but by the Thumbnail, Love the Smooth Look and the Blending of the Paint ! ! ! G-R-E-A-T Job ! ! ! 👍 Did Watch. ✔ Turned-Out just FANTASTIC ! ! ! Bet your Daughter was Thrilled. 😃
Absolutely gorgeous! Just got a french provincial dresser and have been staring at it wondering what to do with it, you just answered that for me. Thank you!
Hello Emy! I'm Brazilian, I didn't understand anything you said, because I don't speak English, but I loved your video! I also work with furniture restoration, I have a channel on you tube, my works are simple, humble, they don't compare with your works that are beautiful! This mix of colors you used was wonderful! I never did! But I will try it! I have already signed up !
I love this dresser! I’ve watched this video before and now I’ve watched it for a second time. I think I might be ready to start blending. Thank you for putting out this instructional video! You are right. The blending takes the dresser to a whole new level-gorgeous!!!
Looks great. I found this exact dresser on the curb down the street from me. It was so beautiful I had to pick it up. Now I have an idea for how to update it, thanks!
That was very very detailed thank you I’m very good at chalk painting but I have trouble blending several colors together and I’m doing a project and I just wanted to see different techniques on how people blend just wanna make sure I’m doing it right but yes you do beautiful work as well thank you for being so detailed

I'm so impressed by some of these flips simply because you guys never use a drop cloth
Thought same thing on that pretty floor
If it’s oil-based, I will lay something down now. I’ve learned the hard way🤦♀️But water-based usually cleans up easily with a damp cloth.
Definitely a dreamy feels when i look at this piece. The top is so gorgeous! I love it so much!
Thank you so much 😊💙💙💙

This is my favorite blended furniture so far! I loved it!

Thanks Catherine! I bet you do your tables justice! I wish there was a way to share photos on UA-cam I would love to see the outcome. Happy painting!😊
You are such a sweet person. You're just natural and real. Love that! Thanks for your clear instructions.
Thank you 😊 I really really appreciate your comment 💜

mine is early 1950s - Ethan Allen
Wow that’s sounds beautiful. I wonder if there’s a cleaner you can use to restore it to its original white🤔

Ohhh I love furniture in pastel colors, it's always so beautiful and classy !!
Gorgeous!! I appreciate you admitting that blending was very hard for you to learn.
Thank you! It’s the truth😊

It’s a beach!! Wouldn’t it be lovely in a beach house bedroom. These colors are glorious. ✌🏻🤍
Stunning piece , love how you took the time to show how you achieved the bonding.
Thank you Brenda😊
That is so beautiful!! That is exactly what I would like to do with my bedroom dresser

Not with chalk paint. The technique is completely different! In fact, you need to brush in all directions.
I could watch stuff like this all day!

But it was one of my first pieces and i heard chalk paint sticks to everything. This looks so amazing. Now I wanna redo mine!
I'm sure it will be fine! You don’t really need to prime all the time. I just had a few bad experiences so now I prime for peace of mind.
