    Update for me: I’ve been rebounding now, just for a few minutes every day for a month or so. I have lymphedema and obesity. I went to my doctor yesterday and my lymphedema techie today, and they both remarked to the fact that I had to change my lymphedema wraps to a smaller size as the lymph glands have shrunk , and I am starting to look a little thinner. I love my rebounder, and these videos!

      My doctor actually told me to keep up with the rebounding. She’s great. My lymphedema techie loves what is going on with my legs.

    I agree with Diane, you really need to do more video's with your Grandmother. She did awesome and what a beautiful smile. I am forever looking for senior videos I can do with my mom. While she can no longer use the rebounder, she was for a while and these videos would have been great. I am sure there are more seniors that would love them. You did awesome explaining the safety side of it. And you two do look sweet together!

      Hi Lori just wanted to add if your mom is not bedridden if she can still sit on the rebounder and bounce her booty or if that’s too low for her to go she can sit on a chair with rebounder under her feet and she can bounce feet and all if it is very benéficamente just the same , oh yeah I remembered one more if she is able to sit on one side of rebounder then you can gently bounce while she’s on it on the other side , on any one of those .

    I’m so glad to have come across this! My hubby & I are getting a mini trampoline - (‘rebounder’, updated terminology 😉 lol.) We are 76 & 69 years young. Thank you for your beautiful presentation of beginner exercises! I can’t wait to start. Your calm, sweet voice & grandmother’s involvement & smile are such an encouragement 😊 . This will be our workout video, I don’t need to look any further. Thank you for taking your time to share in encouraging others to be healthy. ❤

Having the two of you side by side to watch is so helpful, - I might've given up by now just trying some other "beginner" rebounder workouts. Also, so sweet to see you both enjoying other's company. Thank you for this video - excellent teaching for beginners or seniors bc you are clear on the options depending on fitness & aptitude ; very calming , & no interferiing music . Music can sometimes help when one is used to the rebounder , but sometimes instructers put it on too loud , drowning their voices , or else it's too frenetic for my taste . Music is tricky bc if you hate the music , it's a great off-putter , & everyone has their own taste . For example - I love 70's soul & disco music , but I haven't found a single rebounder vid with that kind of music accompaniment . So thanks for the nice quiet music-free vid ! Very refreshing .

    The agony surrounding "working out'' is about 99% mental, but that's still enough to put the skids to it. I'm 73 and have found setting a wind-up egg timer key to not having to "think" about time. I just jump around and have fun. Sooner than I expect, the timer calls time and I'm off to the rest of my day, not having tortured myself watching the second hand of a clock.

    • @EarthOwl
      @EarthOwl  3 роки тому +6

      Agree. Sometimes it's fun just to put on some favorite music and dance. No timer needed.

      I set a timer on my Echo Dot. It's hands free so all I have to do is get on my rebounder and tell Echo to set a timer for the length of time I want and start bouncing! Love it! I am 70 with osteoporosis so I want to stop my bone loss in it's tracks👍 I am new to rebounding.

    • @EarthOwl
      @EarthOwl  2 роки тому +7

      Hi there! Definitely ok to wear shoes! One benefit to barefoot is increased proprioception which helps with improving balance, but if you’re more comfortable in shoes that’s ok too. Either way you’ll get lots of benefits from rebounding!

    Do you need to do stretches before starting this routine, or is the first move a warm up on its own?
    Also, your grandma is so cute! Cherish her. My grandma passed away last year, and what I wouldn’t give to do some activities with her again.
    We used to go on long walks together all the time.

    Hi, Does the jumpsport 350f have the stability bar or do I need to order a larger jumpsport rebounder. I went ahead & ordered both; but now I am worried that the 350f is too small?
    Anyhelp would be much appreciated.

      Hi there! Couple questions...how many minutes did you start with? What type/brand of rebounder are you using? Were you active prior to starting or new/returning to fitness? You might consider joining my private Facebook group "Rebounding for Beginners and Seniors". Lots of helpful insight over there.

    • @Yadkin
      @Yadkin 3 місяці тому

      Possibly too much, too soon. Tone it down a bit (I had to). I have to modify my workouts. I've rebounded daily now for 5 weeks. Some days I'm tired, and it's just 5 solid minutes I'll go. Other days I have more energy, so I'll rebound 3x, 15 minutes each.

    What I love about my new BCAN 40" trampoline is that the instructions ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxJ9gj6zjuYQvwe_l9UB_7kOOVd_fIIC5Q and video were easy to follow and setup. A little maneuvering necessary, but all of the steps needed were included. The trampoline is sturdy and I love the ability it has to fold down to store away. The handle bar is perfect for stability and maintaining alignment. I just received this morning and set up within the hour. It was not difficult, but you need to watch the video and read through instructions prior to putting together. I'm already using and love that you can get cardio workout in 10 minutes, and it's fun to do. I plan to use everyday and will test out it's durabiity to withstand my 110 lbs. If special exercises could be posted for use with the BCAN, that woud be an added bonus! So far, I'm loving my new BCAN trampoline and looking forward to using it for many years.

    I don't know what happened to my previous comment on here, but, I'll write it again - while I really enjoy this video, why would you allow ads in the middle of the routine to happen??? I understand having them before and afterwards, but, not during.

    • @EarthOwl
      @EarthOwl  2 роки тому +1

      Greetings, and thank you for reaching out. I wanted to take a moment to fully respond to your comment. Hi, I'm Nikki. I've been a rebounding instructor for about 5 years. I have a degree in education B.S. Ed as well as post graduate work in a related field. I hold multiple fitness certifications and have been teaching in some capacity, whether fitness or public education for over 15 years. This is my full time job and how I help support my family. In addition to this channel, I operate a private group where I give free instruction and answer/respond to comments and questions daily. I am LIVE twice a week and those classes are ad free if you join me in real time. I love what I do and take it very seriously. This is not just a hobby for me, but a career. Ads in my free videos are just one part of how I am able to earn money. If you want to view my content without ads, all you have to do is join my channel for as little as $4.99 a month. I have put a great deal of time and money into my education and cannot work for free. I hope this helps explain why myself, or any other fitness instructor may choose to run ads during their free workouts. Have a lovely day. Nikki

      @@EarthOwl I totally understand that you should earn money by doing these videos - again, I don't mind the ads - I just mind the placement of the ads. I would be very happy to watch an ad at the beginning of the routine (while I'm getting reading to get on my trampoline, putting my headband on, etc.), as well as the end of the routine (while I am drinking some water, catching my breath, getting off the trampoline, etc.), but, during the routine itself is very distracting and off-putting. Peace, Karen

    • @EarthOwl

      @@inesterway9982 I would certainly continue to take it very slow. I often say “take the bounce out”. Just step from side to side or front to back without actually bouncing. March in place would be a good one too. I always recommend consulting a physician if dizziness persists.
