  • New research indicates that exercise on a rebounder helps maintain and improve bone mineral density. Rebounding is also a wonderful exercise for balance, coordination and fall prevention which are all important in the fight against osteoporosis. Consult your physician if you have osteoporosis or any other health condition BEFORE beginning this or any physical fitness program. This workout is part of my beginners progression program in block #4. Visit my website to download the free PDF program plan and follow the corresponding UA-cam workouts.

    I loved this workout! My Dr is so pleased that I'm using a rebounder for my health. She said to keep using it for bone strength. I'm 65 and in good health and I'd like to keep it that way. I am so so happy I found your channel 🤟

    Just received my Trampoline for my Birthday a couple of days ago. It has a Bar to hold onto. I tried it out, and for what I can see, MOST of what you're doing has to be done by someone who has done this for awhile. I have to hold onto the bar. I'll get better, but not sure I'll do as well as you. Thank-You for your Instructions.

      This video is quite a lot for someone's first time rebounding. Please start with my form tutorial in the "getting started" playlist at the top of my channel. I also suggest doing some of my beginner's week videos to get acclimated to your rebounder. Here is the link back to my channel: ua-cam.com/channels/afgYoJtJLLYLQDshX3eIWw.html

    The milkmaid arms (with or without weights) are very challenging; whew! Although basic moves, the class was engaging and full of energy. I can only get better with balance and performance by doing this class often. P.S. The length was just perfect for those of us time challenged. I always want to get something in for each day but don't have the opportunity for 60 min. classes. Thank you for doing this class. Smiles.

    Does it matter if you're without shoes? and is jumping safe with osteopenia? And do you suggest choosing either with or without weights or doing both workouts?

    • @EarthOwl
      @EarthOwl  Рік тому +2

      Many people rebound barefoot. I always recommend checking with your physician. If you're brand new to rebounding, I'd go weight free. As you become stronger, gain confidence and get more comfortable you could add weights but it's not necessary.

      @@EarthOwl Thank you!! I like going from my house slippers to the rebounder barefoot. Since I do this in-between my work at the computer, it is demotivating to have to wear shoes every time I want to get on the rebounder during the day.

      Thank you for posting the link. Unfortunately it is not a good research article to support rebounding is good for increasing bone density. Apparently the cushioning effect of the rebounder reduces the impact which bones need to grow. However rebounding appears to be great for everything else so I will keep it up, plus I feel great after every session. May I suggest Glory B's website for anyone who wants to do exercises that specifically target increasing bone formation. I have no links to Glory B and have no vested interest. But after much trolling on youtube I found Glory B website has the easiest and clearly demonstrated exercises for strengthening and growing bones. Thank you for all of your rebounder videos and your enthusisasm . I feel better physically and mentally after every session. Best wishes from Australia- @@EarthOwl

      @@elizabethlloyd2455 I may not have all the relevant articles. I do know there are several in my private Facebook group who have changed only one thing…they started rebounding…and their bone density scans have improved over time. One participant was downgraded from osteoporosis to osteopenia. All the rebounder companies claim it can help with bone density. I would hope they are using peer reviewed research for those claims.

    I am considering upgrading my mat to the pro level. Is there more impact on the knees with 36 cords?

    • @EarthOwl
      @EarthOwl  Рік тому +1

      Are you currently jumping on a 350? The 350Pro is a firmer bounce although you can still adjust to the tension settings to your liking. Some may disagree, but I think a slightly firmer bounce is a little easier on my knees. You don't "sink" quite as much. If you like to move quickly, keep up with routines, etc.. the Pro mat is very helpful.

      @earthowl I didn't see your response. Thank you for being so responsive on yiur channel. I've been bouncing with you pretty steadily after posting this question. I have a JS 200 but have upgraded the cords. The 36 cord mat will be my next acquisition. ☺️

    • @emmat3531
      @emmat3531 9 місяців тому

      @user-gd7zj4gh6y You can adjust the cords on a 350, which, in my opinion, makes it great for all fitness levels. @earthowl's routines will help you find your groove on the rebounder.🥰☺️

    Is this good for people with osteopenia?

    • @EarthOwl
      @EarthOwl  Рік тому

      I always recommend checking with your physician or health care provider first, but many people with osteopenia rebound and find it a very fun and low impact way to exercise.
