This video has some really great tips. For anyone looking to get a Curly Perm, please make sure you find someone that does these types of perms on the regular, don’t settle for someone that just says oh I can do that but actually has very little experience with curly perms. A seasoned stylist that does these perms everyday will be more knowledgeable, give you real world advice on how to care for it and you’ll have better success.
I just got my hair permed today, so here are some things to expect:
1. if you have long hair , it takes a long time to roll it, I have long hair, and it took 2 hours, I was in the salon for 4.
2. The perm solution STINKS! This is just my opinion, but it smells like, onions mixed with rotten eggs, and cat pee at first then, it gets better, and doesn’t smell as strong after about 4 hours, it’s not as bad.
3. Do not under any circumstance brush. Your. Hair. before the 72 hours is up especially right after taking the curlers out, the reason you should not do this is, it will create frizz and since the perm solution is still in your hair, it basically will perm the frizz, and it won’t go away.

@@taylorsimone8846 Well I got mine today, the perm solution stinks terribly and I could barely breathe because it felt like it intoxicated my lungs but luckily I got over it. I have SUPER thick hair so they had to use railroad rods and it hurt a lot because of how tight they were but I should've known better. After I got them out, my hair was washed AGAIN but yeah. My curls- one side looks wavy instead of curly like the rest because my hair stylist ended up rubbing the hair with a towel and harshly... I was disappointed but I hope it'll be curly in a couple days since she said the curls are still forming in the video.

@@Ashanti.Mae. My curls vanished within a month. Supposed to last six months usually but nope, mine disappeared after a month because of how thick and heavy my hair is. My hair didn't fall out like some unfortunate people after the experience but my hair breaks easier and gets pulled out easier as well.

When getting a touch up, (2nd curly perm) do u saturate all your hair with step 1 or just focus on the roots?
If I had practice after just getting one and have to put my hair in a ponytail but can’t use hair ties. should I do braids or used a rubber hair tie for my hair not to break. What would you do?

i just got my curly perm and two weeks after i dye my hair with semi dye and it got strait so i try the snapback care free curls and i did get back my curls

Curl release then rinse your hair not permanent dye it can be to damaging then set rods..
Next time rinse dont dye dye is a strong chemical

I go every 3 months. No problem with witb my hair. I also do a leavein condition twice a week.

question, my hair is pretty dry after dying it a week ago, and ive made an appointment to get my hair permed in two weeks.... do you think thats too soon to get a perm..

I just got a curly perm yesterday with wave noveau yesterday and I am wondering, can I comb my hair out and keep it in like 4 braids when staying at home? Will I still have my curls??
I wouldn’t recommend it . Could possibly mess up your curls while they are still forming for the first 48-72 hours

You have to. You can’t get a curly perm on relaxed hair. Only natural hair!
I know someone that had texturized hair an it worked
I had natural hair an just wanted a diff curl pattern an it was beautiful at first . I followed instructions given to me but about 2months after i washed my hair one day an noticed my curls were not coming back like they should. Ma hair broke off , became really dry, an does not curl any more an its now thinning out. Im really disappointed an dont know what to do . Im at the point were i want to cut it all off . Any remedies on how to revive the curls, im bout 6 months perm an retouch in . Please i need help.😭😭😭💯

Do you use the wave nouveau products to style and moisturize you're hair just wondering if you have to because those products contain silicones and make the hair oily
The only product from the line that I actually have is the Moisturizing Finishing Mist . Far as the whole silicones topic .. I feel like you have to try out different products to see which works best for your own hair type .
As far as I've researched, a bunch of people's hair started breaking when they stopped using WN products and tried to just use 'natural curly hair' products instead. Maybe you can use both, but I know you definitely have to be consistent with the WN product

You said it has a smell. Is it a jheri curl smell or a relaxer smell?
A K Gina curl is a Jheri curl so I’m guessing it smells the same

After I shampoo I do condition.
Can you wash your hair everyday?
I wouldn't reccomend everyday, maybe every other day, use dry shampoo and leave in conditioner

During your retouch with a wave nouveau the chemical is applied to the rods every time you go back, so the ends are being processed over and over. Even during the first application of the chemical the stylist has to work fast and there is no time to protect the previously treated hair . The chemical is applied twice. The client has to use a lot of moisture and product to keep the hair hydrated. With the GINACURL we can take up to 1,1/2 hours to apply the chemical so we can address the different porosity levels down the hair shaft. We only apply the chemical once and during your retouch we can protect the previously treated hair with our protection . The chemical is never applied to the rods so the ends are never compromised over and over again allowing your hair to grow long and healthy. Clients come back every 6 months and there is no breakage at the line of demarcation as the hair is growing out because we never apply the chemical to the scalp as well. We have clients on their 8th retouch still loving their hair as they did day 1.
