I been doing this service for over thirty years . Started from when it first came out. I took classes for three days on this. First you never wash the hair first. I will irritate the scalp and there is three chemicals that have to go on the hair. I don’t know how long she left the neutralizer on but it should sit for twenty minutes. After the process you get as much water out as possible and use the wave nouveau finishing lotion starting on the scalp. If you don’t the scalp will start itching. You part the hair and apply just like greasing your scalp. Then massage it through the rest of the hair. You will do this everyday for the next three days, after you can do it every two days. There is no other product that takes the place this finishing lotion. It’s your magic for keeping your hair Healthy and shiny.
Many celebrities and people on the street with "good hair" really have a curly perm. They never stopped making them and hair grease, so somebody is purchasing them.
I think it's been popular for a while, I've been seeing different variations. What I see now though is that some naturals still want curly hair but curly hair that is easier to deal with. Some of the curls now don't seem as greasy like they were back in the day, bbn so they appear more natural now just my thoughts though
@@lbu9542 this is true they do not drip now. It’s very versatile as I can where my hair straight or curly. I love it! It’s kinda pricey but you pay for what you want. 🤷🏽♀️ it’s not about colonization for me it’s my personal preference. I just was over being completely natural

Good job, Ihad this when it first came out. Two difference I noticed. 1- never wash the hair first, this will irritate the scalp. 2- When applying step one start from the back of the head.
I remember back in the day, there was a relaxer for curls called Cosmopolitan. They stopped producing it in the early 2000's and that was the best relaxer for curls wish it could make a comeback!!
My concern about this retouch is how much of the chemicals is going on the already processed hair. If it could be done with just the roots getting done this would be a safer process
@@feefee2 I see 4C ladies coming out of her chemical process before rolling with bone straight hair and the curls are not as coily. People might as well get a texturizer and call it a day. Thank you for the video. Can you please address the criticism thats floating around saying that upon retouching the new growth this perm damages the already treated hair? Many are flocking to the new Gina Curl because she’s saying that her process is healthier for Black hair than traditional curly perms. She’s charging people upwards of $1200 for this “new” curly perm process. I’m not convinced the information is accurate and it just seems like an existing process is getting put down just so money can be made on this quote new unquote process. I have yet to see a stylist really address it from a side by side perspective as I would like to get either a wave nouveau or design essentials curl reconstructor but would like to be confident that the already chemically treated hair isn’t being reprocessed over and over after each retouch which could lead to damage and breakage. Thank you! ♥️
As a child I was my moms model for everything(she was a stylist). I’ve had several curly perms and never had over processed hair. The process is the same. Your stylist is the one that will or will not pay attention to the line where the new growth stops. Your stylist should also let you know how to maintain your hair so that you can prolong the length of time between services. If I could manage it as a youngster, I’m sure you can manage as a grown woman. 👍🏽Save your money and find a good stylist to give you a body wave. 💚
