But she didn't say all, so I don't see why anyone's butthurt. Some people are so stupid and take offense to things that are not about them. How does that make sense?!
@@KatNaturalBeauty I use to, until I found the Gina curl. My hair stayed braided, but I didnt wear wigs. If i had to go somewhere, I'd take my braided down and wear a braid out, but it only ever lasted 1 day, that night i would have to re-braid it so i can do anything the next morning. Now i can wet it and get BETTER results then i got with my braidout. I save so much time and energy, and i haven't even had it a full week as yet. I can't stop talking about my Gina Curl..😍😍
@Sarah R You have to send an on line consultation to get a quote from Hairs Talent, or you can actually call the shop to ask any other questions, or you can ask one of us who already had it done, what ever makes you comfortable.
@Sarah R idk. I know they can get busy. If you think you may be interested, dont give up on it. I saw on IG that she has been away for a while, so you may want to try after the holidays.
Mine too!!! I know she said she was joking but that stung!! All of the negative things said about black women and our hair over the centuries is too damn much!! The last thing we need is to be tearing each other down...joking or not!
Jennie Woo not even just because people watch this doesn’t mean they want new/ different hair. These are fans and people who just want a switch up. Stop being immature and putting people down for their preferences and speaking out!
I've been getting wave nouveau done to my hair for a few years now. I enjoy it & it's much easier for me to maintain than my natural hair. I also experienced the shedding in the beginning but the key is to keep it moisturized! Thanks for posting ♥️👍 Love it !
Now that wave nouveau is discontinued and the prices for the lotion/spray are on the rise... do you have any recommendations for alternatives? #PleaseSendHelp 😅😅
12:23 A lot of us black girls don't have hair, you say? 😒 I was enjoying the video until comments like this, and the ones that follow about the difficulty of dealing with 4c texture. I like looking at different stuff -- I'm natural with a very kinky 4z texture but had relaxers and a wave nouveau before I was even a teen. But the not so subtle commentary throughout the video about black women's hair and natural textures isn't for me. TFS
C Jones it was a joke. Growing up a lot of us didn’t have have hair lol a bunch of us did tho. And a lot of us have struggled with it so I know a lot of people get the jokes
@@LorenSharice You are Soo right. Remember the hot comb?? You be like🥺, trying not to cry every time you get burned. SMDH.. I don't miss those days either. LMAOO #Loving my Gina Curl!!😍😍
Wow, the ugliness up in here. Well, this is not what I was going for! This is only the 2nd of LorenSharice's video's that I've watched. Saw the first one when she got the wave nouveau and I was transfixed. What's old is new again! I loved it. Like I said, I don't have one, but I love seeing what we ladies do with our hair. It's so versatile and beautiful, and I appreciate type 4 hair especially, in every state. That's why I still watch videos of women with wave nouveaus, Gina curls, relaxers, and locs even though I haven't had a relaxer in 4 years. I've learned that they're not for me anymore, but I love our hair so much, I want to learn about it and see it in all states. My point was only that when I do view videos by women with other hair textures and with their hair in other states, joking or not, it's hurtful when negative energy is put my way (towards my hair type). Yes, 4c hair can be "difficult" (that's why I call mine 4z, it's *the kinkiest* of the kinky), but that's because we compare it and every other texture to the white, straight, "standard". Our hair wouldn't be difficult if that's all we knew and never compared it to straight. It's all relative. I think positive thoughts about my hair, take my time with it, learn about it, and care for it, and it's flourishing. My sisters with looser textures have been natural for more than a decade longer than me. They speak all that negativity, don't embrace their textures, and have broken and very short hair. But they ask me how I got my "slave texture" to grow. SMH. I swear, if you love it, it loves you back. And many of us, me included, had no hair growing up because of chemical processes in attempts to modify our natural curl pattern. I'm in the very delicate place, as I'm sure you can all understand, of trying to get those around me, both black and white, to accept and stop othering my natural hair as it comes out of my head. That's hard to do when I hear negativity about my hair from women with cute looser curls talking about how much happier they are with their new hair and how bad our natural hair type is. It just hurts is all. I do understand it's personal opinion, even joking, but there's truth there, a collective pain for some that those comments tap into. I mean absolutely no disrespect to Ms. LorenSharice. She's a beautiful lady with a light, beautiful personality. I just felt sad that I wasn't enjoying the video anymore and thought to comment. Please, no ugly comments, ladies. I wasn't starting anything, so there's nothing to defend here. I'm just expressing something.
@Sapheiro57 I'm nobody's victim, thank you. Are you always on the attack? Do you need a hug, girl? Both rhetorical, because we're done here. I pointed out something that was already there. She clearly did not know that what she said night be offensive to some and she's obviously is not in the business of alienating her audience. I could have said nothing and just never gave her another click. But I think most people who genuinely come from a good place want to know if they've stepped on toes. Clearly, from the nasty tone of each of your comments, you're not one such person. Thank you for your replies. Be blessed. 🙏🏿
I’m just going to start deleting comments about the joke I made about hair growth. It was clearly a joke. I literally made a face. I understand that a lot of people attack us as black girls but we need to realize when we are being attacked and when we are digging too deep. I clearly had hair. Also if you don’t like chemicals, this isn’t the video for you. I’m team perm, team natural, team ANYTHING you want to do to feel beautiful and mind your business. But spare yourself the stress sis. I make dark jokes and I use chemicals. I’m not trying to bother anything just share my hair journey
Good work with the video! I enjoy your candor, or honesty! I'm thinking of making a switch to wave nouveau, so more updates with your wave nouveau please. A little about me: Natural 4c 7 years now, shoulder length. I have spent the last two years to get to my bra strap with no success. For anyone who knows!! Is there a Gina curl stylist in the 1st, South Carolina area, then North Carolina or Georgia areas? I had a gheri curl a long time ago, as a kid, I'm Auntie age 45! I had no noticeable problems with shedding, when I had the curl. That's why I'm now willing to try the dryer form of the wave nouveau process. I've discovered through research that the Gina curl is the safest 4c curly perm option, right now. However, if I can't find a Gina curl stylist, I'm going to ask a couple of my mother's friends about their experience with the wave nouveau and give it a try. I'd prefer a Gina curl over the wave nouveau. If I can't find a Gina curl stylist in my area or surrounding areas, I'm getting the wave nouveau. Push comes to shove, I'll wear protective styles like weaves and wigs, like I've been doing, if I have a bad experience with wave nouveau. Following your progress with wave nouveau Loren.
Candi honestly that’s a good point. I definitely saw black women as my circle and I thought our community was a little closer than this. I would never think people would be this sensitive but nowadays you gotta be super pc
Just wanna say I appreciate everyone who knew that “a lot of black girls don’t grow hair” was a joke about the stereotype. Because we obviously do. 🤦🏾♀️ I clearly had a bunch of it.
I love to see you're doing good things and I really enjoy you on Y&R. Your hair still looks good in spite of the experience you encountered and last...guuurrrrllll your "SKIN" is flawless!! 😊✌🤚👍👏💯
I wore a Wave Nouveau for 15 years. I used Keraphix by Nexxus once a month to nurture the curl pattern. Always follow up with a moisturizing conditioner Humectress and Paul Mitchell's detangler. Then I would use Wave Nouveau products.
I believe our hair in it's natural state 3 or 4 is beautiful. I wish more of us would embrace it, however, I do understand the desire to change our hair. No shame to those who use chemicals. Just b careful!
When you're sitting at home chillin all day just saturate your hair with that moisturizer and put a plastic cap on to force in extra moisture. Your hair will grow faster this way also.
ohhh WOW!! Yeah a "Keratin Straightening" treatment is also another chemical process. Your hair was over processed which caused major damage, breakage/shedding! Might be best to wash and deep condition your hair at least 1x a week & Also use a protein deep treatment every 4-6 weeks. That should also help. Thank goodness it is bouncing back!! Please post future hair updates & thank you for sharing this!!.
Be careful, by not combing through your hair at least once a week can cause more major problems. Remember when your hair sheds, that hair will hang in there and twists around the heathy hair causing more fall out.
Hey Hairtalents in the house! Been eyeing that Gina curl for a while! I sweat in my scalp alot as a natural.and have it 5x a week not sure how Gina curl friendly that is...what do you think? Thanks!
@@GinaCurl I mean I sweat alot in my hair working out and HAVE to wash it everyday. Its really stressful and annoying. I was concerned that maybe if I had a chemical process like a Ginacurl my hair would be super fragile and couldn't take the daily washes...
You are BEAUTIFUL. I have been watching the Y&R for 35 years. I have always loved my queens on the show. I want to say this correctly, but I LOVE THEY ARE SHOWING YOUR NATURAL BEAUTY!!! Your skin is luminous, the curls are spinnin' girl, and allowing you to be you. I think before they used sooo much make-up, so much "hair". You are rockin the African Queen LOOK!!! I hope I said that right. ALL IN ALL I LOVE YOU ON THE Y&R!!! Keep killin' it!!! XOXOXO🎥🎞📽🎬
Ohhh and another thing!!! I'm a Cosmetologist. If you ever need any advice, work done, or just an ear to listen to about fashion, hair, make-up, etc. Please feel free to DM me. Blessed Be. I am a chemical God. There isn't a chemical, hair color,or hair product that I am not an expert on. The trust is real. I could take your hair back to 100%!!!
Wave Nouveau tips: Rods close together, no over directing Don’t tighten the elastic tight against the scalp See if the stylist can process only the roots when you go back for a retouch. Rinse rinse rinse well Pay attention to neutralizing timing. Be sure ends are smooth and straight across within the end paper. So no pointing the ends of the hair and rolling the up on rod. Laur, my GINACURL is so different than a wave nouveau or any other chemical out there on the market. I get all my products from Japan It can take up to 1 1/2 hours to apply the chemical. So when you come back for a retouch the chemical is not overlapping in the ends because we have time to apply it, and also have time protect the ends with a protection cream while applying. Even in the rinsing stage the ends that were previously chemically treated cannot absorb the chemical because it takes time for the chemical to absorb into the hair so unlike other chemical services that take really quick to process and absorb onto the ends during rinsing. Also there is no perm solution applied to the perm rods so the ends are not being processed and compromised every time you have a curl. My clients come back every six months. And they can do this because their roots will blend in with the curl. you don’t have to put tons of product on the hair, you can just put a leave in conditioner if you want. my prices start at $450 and up depending on texture, length and previous chemical in the hair. Your texture and length would cost between $550-$600 so I have a proposal for you, if you give your hair 8 months to repair, no chemical at all. I will give you a complementary GINACURL!!! You will be amazed at the difference!!!
@Hairs Talent. Please start training other stylists or opening other hair salons. The rest of us would also love a ginacurl instead of wave nouveau. I am getting so desperate with my 4C hair that I am considering a wave nouveau, because it is hard to get to you. Also what happens if you retire (of course not until a few years from now) who will continue if you are the only person that does the ginacurl. I am just stating this because I do want to support you and there are most likely several women that want to do the same, but there is no easy access to you and I do appreciate that you sometimes travel, but even that is too much of a burden to continue until???? Wave nouveau only works short term and who wants a greasy head (not me!).
I haven’t had a Wave Nouveau or any other kind of curly perm in over 20 years, and like another commenter, I’m on the fence about getting another one. I’d love to if there were any stylists out there that know how to do the retouch properly. I’ve heard so many horror stories of people’s hair being over processed for this reason. What is the problem? Are beauty schools teaching cosmetology students how to do a curl incorrectly? So frustrating :-(
First I want to say you’re very beautiful. Gorgeous features and a beautiful rich dark complexion. This honestly doesn’t look natural. It looks like you have chemically treated hair that is damaged. It looks like a crunchy perm with heat damage. I feel like your natural hair probably looks more attractive than this. Even when it was freshly done it had a stiff look to it. If you continue this journey I wish you the best of luck. Also I have zero chemicals in my hair and it’s past bra strap, thick and healthy. My curls are kinky and thick and I love my hair. I have a ton and I would never jeopardize the health of it to achieve a looser curl pattern. The grass always seems greener on the other side but God made no mistake when he made every hair on our head.
I disagree. I think her hair looks healthy and moisturized. Your philosophy on hair is to worship it; far too many black women have that philosophy. Hair is FUN, it grows back. Play around, you only live once. Get bleached, do rainbow, get a curly perm, get a mohawk, get dreads, HAVE FUN!!!!! If you don't like it, cut it off and grow it back. Relax and stop worrying. She looks great, and I'm glad she was able to swim and wash and go, that was a fun experience for her to have in life.
@Star I completely disagree with your point of view and how you say her hair doesn't look natural and healthy. Is kind of confusing because it was like you were trying to insult her but in a nice way. many black girls love doing that. I agree with the other person here is supposed to be fun supposed to enjoy your hair just because your hair is kinky and curl does not mean is beautiful.
Had no idea you were a 4 C girl! You could have fooled me! Really enjoying this video and all that honesty! When I was a little girl wave nouveau‘s and Jerry curls were very popular the wave nouveau was considered to be the less greasy slightly cooler cousin of the Jerry curl and somehow I forgot that people still get them so this was refreshing . it is very true when you’re an actor or actress and dealing with your hair without privacy in dressing rooms full of people especially people who do not have a similar hair texture you find yourself having to explain or being asked questions. I definitely think them doing the keratin treatment on top of the wave nouveau probably caused an issue. The Keratin treatment is a lot different then a deep conditioner that has keritain in it perhaps they thought it was a deep conditioner. I also had extreme shedding when I put a texture softener aka kiddie perm in my hair I lost a lot of hair eventually. And I just threw it back it’s always the cycle of growing it out flat ironing it too much and then growing it back or blow drying it too much and going back or putting some chemicals on it and then growing it back. I tend to do a lot of wigs and weaves and also flat iron and breathe because my natural hair all combed out makes me look like it’s 1975.
Seems like it gives everyone tiny curls no matter what perm rods size they use🤔Im so on the fence about whether I would like to try it,or, be disappointed by the loss of density is seems to be giving everyone. Im 45 and my hair is already thinning. I dont want to add to seeing straight to my scalp. Thanks for your honest review! Oh...and you are so 😍😁 And you are on Y&R!!!!!!!😁🙋🏾♀️
I know exactly where you’re coming from. I NEVER thought I had a hair identity, especially as a 4C girl. That’s why I did the big chop. I want to be proud of my hair. Some girls got it figured out! 😩😩
I loooovvvveeee you on The Young and the Restless.!.Yes I’m a young soap opera lover.!.I have watched that and Days of Our Lives for years.!.I mean years.!.blame my granny😂😭 But anywho I was so excited when I saw it was you doing this video.!.😍❤️ I loved your hair on there and I like that you wear your hair.!.It’s cute.!.❤️
I've had wave for 16-17 yrs. Now 59yo I have thicker hair texture and I guess alot if hair follicles. I always get compliments. I wear it drier I don't like it soaking into clothing and pillow cases. I get it cut frequently because it grows so fast. Touch up every 12-14 weeks. People stop me in lines at the store to ask questions. My only problem is finding a person that actually provides this service. My stylist is temperamental but I'm dependent on her because she does such a good job. I was actually thinking of growing it out to natural but it seems like it is becoming popular so hopefully this will improve. I'll keep it so easy to work with.
You basically permed (or wavenouvaued) your hair and then repermed it constantly whenever you went back rather than just touching it up to perm the NEW growth. Fully chemically processing every strand everytime rather than only processing the growth that had never been processed . Any and ALL hair dressers should understand that’s a BIG NONO. So sad they did this to you but glad you could bounce back !
MissMoet Right and only use the wave products to hold your curl longer. That will promote growth cause your hair become acquainted with a regimen. Adding a bunch of other products is a NoNo as well.
I want to do this perm but it seems like if the hair stylists doesn't know what they are doing they could make my hair fall out. That really scares me because my hair is not as thick as hers and I would have visible bald patches if that were to happen. So I dont know if I want to do this because you have to do this 100% right and make no mistakes or your hair will suffer. But it looks cute though and it's much easier for me to manage, so we shall see.
I had a wave nouveau when it first came out for years and I loved it. My hair grow fast, strong, and thick. I use to wash it once a month and wear a cap at night. The less you wash it the better it looks. I only use the products that comes with the system. It sounds like the person didn't know how to apply it. It's just like a perm, you need touch up, and your touch depends on how fast your hair grows.
Oh can I tell you that 4c struggle. Yass!!! Keep the updating. I’m very interesting I have no idea what I’m doing with this natural of mine. I’m tried of weave.
Thank you so much you are the first positive person. How encouraging watching this has been for me. It's been a year and what a mess wearing my hair naturally. I just never feel like my hair is neat but thank you
Moisturizing with the correct products for ammonium thioglycolate perms is essential. I am of a particular age and wore a curly perm as teenager in the 80s when it was very popular. Back then we would moisturize at night before bed and place a process cap on and it would lock in moisture. When you woke up the next morning, the hair would be highly hydrated and pretty flat but as the day went and the products would dry out a bit the hair would thicken and fill out but yet remain moist. At that point l would fluff it out to the desired fullness. I am a veteran cosmetologist and it was still popular when l first started my career but soon phased out due to the popularity of relaxed styles of the 90s. l never thought it would return but eveverything recycles back around. The older l get the more you see how true this is. One thing l will say is that the way l described earlier, how we cared for our curly perms back in the day, it would grow the hair like super crazy. l have thought about getting one again and that would be my method for caring for my curly perm.
I had one in the 80's also and slept in the process cap. I think it's the best way to keep it moisturized. I'm getting one next weekend and I plan to sleep in the cap also with a bonnet over it. Moisture is KEY!!!
So I have transitioning 4a hair. It’s almost arm pit length with stretch and and I just can’t take care of it. I’m about to start my senior and get job soon and I’m also in ROTC. I just don’t have to time to detangle and take of it. So i’m thinking of a curly perm. You say to moisture every night with a process cap? I’m sorry if i’m being annoying but can you go more in detail on how you took care of it?
I have been wanting to get one but have no idea where. The salons don't offer it do they? I did see one curl processing product at the beauty supply store but I can't apply it myself.
I’ve alway said this. In the 80s when the Jerry curl was really popular all those women had all their hair... full luscious hair. Then in the 90s relaxers became popular and addictive so we had to restart but for those who want textured hair specific, the Jheri Curl is the way to go.
Ginacurl should definitely sponsor you. You would be their celebrity muse :- ) I cannot figure out if ginacurl is such a great hair procedure why they do not have celebrities that sponsor it and why there is only 1 hairstylist that can do it and no one else is just counterproductive. In the end people and celebrities are opting for the wave nouveau when the ginacurl could be killing it and making those of us who want it happy. BTW: You would look great even if you had to shave it off. You are adorable!
@@cjsmomom I had one for years. I think they went out if style, we all moved to relaxers which seemed to be much more damaging than the curl when you look back.
You can do everything you said with 4c hair. The industry is rough! But don’t let them have you believe the original look is out of style! An Afro ain’t never outta style and a shaved head on you would be goals as well . ❤️
I've had this for almost 30 years, and I've never heard of anybody rerolling and neutralizing it in between touch-ups. The beauty of this is the minimal maintenance. I hate you got someone that didn't know what they were doing.
It looked amazing in the beginning, now I see its shedded A LOT, A LOT🤭😱 I’m glad you’re hold holding them responsible for their screwups😏🤦🏾♀️😭 I know the struggle with the 4A/B/C blah blah hair. You’re beautiful with jokes, it should mold🤣 I stay spraying my hair with water that hit so close to home lmao
I have 4c hair and I get super frustrated and exhausted. I love my hair but I want it to love me. I’m trying to find a way to fix my issue. If I don’t find a solution then I think I might shave my head again because this 4c thing isn’t working. I live my hair btw it’s just too much for me personally. Not an attack on all 4c hair. Good for you if you are thriving!
My hair drives me bat shit crazy sometimes but I'm afraid of chemicals. Haven't had a perm in 8 years I hated straight hair anyway I was just too lazy to comb my hair lol. Your hair looks cute. When I find something thats not permanent to loosen my texture I hope it will look as cute as yours
Sorry about your experience! The prob was def the stylist... I did it when I was 11 years old for about 5 years and let me tell you, my hair was beautiful, long and healthy! Grew so much during that period. Every1 thought it was my natural texture and asked which products I used. The only downside was the constant wetness. I only applied soft sheen carson's finishing lotion and mist but I drenched my hair daily, especially after washing because I liked the wet look. As you know, the products are slimy and would mess up my clothes and sheets. Also, bc I used so much product, my hair would not smell the best by the end of the week. If it wasn't for that, I would def do it again
I didn’t even know they still sold Wave Nouveau! That’s seriously old school! This type of hair service was great for growing out hair if properly cared for. I saw the change in your hair and just thought it was you wearing your natural hair texture on Y&R. Yes, the Keratin with Wave Nouveau was a big mistake and a true professional would have known that ( I may have missed the part where you said that they consulted with you before any service was performed) if properly versed in chemical services. Keep using the products that are helping your hair....it will come back! Once it grows out cut that chemical off and use the Camille Rose products on your natural hair and study auyervedic ways of taking care of your natural hair. Good luck! Love you on Y&R and will continue to follow you!
I came here to see about a curly perm too because I hateeeee shrinkage. But I love my curls. But all I get from this is “I struggled with my blackness my whole life” But Im praying for you beautiful queen. I blame it on the industry you’re in, black queens are mentally trained to hate themselves there.
Literally at the salon under the dryer about to get this done Watched your first video like a week ago and decided to just do it I have been stuck under weave so long and want to get out
I'm a hairstylist in Europe . If your hair breaks again you have to continue with the Jerry curl . It always breaks at the first -sec -third time but then it will stop . First time a lot , second time less and the third time almost nothing and it won't happen again maybe after a couple years again
I think your hair looks beautiful even though it went through a lot. I just got wave Nouveau a week ago and I love it. I am using the Cantu products for now cuz I like the way it smells and it does all the same things at the wave Nouveau product does. I've gotten so many compliments on it it just looks so natural nobody knows that I got to wave Nouveau it's beautiful
My mom been wearing this since the 80’s and she got mine done like 1993. Im heading to the beauty store to get the system since we are now sheltering in place and all the salons are closed
Neaveu took my hair out in patches too. The saloon woman told me it's regular conditioner and I agreed. It smells like a strong chemical too, a regular wash with that treatment had my scalp dropping and growing chemical hair from the freaking scalp. My hair wasn't growing natural until 3 years past. So, Neaveu is a no for me. You got a perm and the horrible treatment, omg!
I’m in the UK and we call it curly perm we have always called it curly perm so calm down call it what you want ! So no she didn’t just make up the name 🙄
I love my wave nouveau too! The one thing I really didn't think I would have to tell the beautician is that I need mild perm. I would have told her if I had known it came in different strengths.
Wave nouveau is a chemical just like Keratin treatment. Please educate yourself before you trust someone else in your hair regardless if they have a license. I use to have wave nouveau for 8 yrs and my hair was down my back, but I only use wave nouveau hair products. I don't have it now and I love it when I had it, I just got tired of the look.
The keratin treatment is not a chemical like the chemical in permanent curly and straightening systems. Yes some have formaldehyde in it but they have been band in most states, the keratin treatments that out there on the market today and not the underground Brazilian product only have protein in them. Our hair is made up of keratin, protein and collagen. If you are natural I do not recommend keratin or protein treatments, unless your ends end it. but when your hair is over process it's treatment to go to
@@GinaCurl Your response is totally is off and you just proved you really need to educate yourself before you mess up your beautiful hair. DON'T GET ANY OTHER Product in your hair unless it WAVE NOUVEAU....PERIOD!!
Hair's Talent / GINACURL hey Gina I’m in the uk and I use the wave nouveau down here. To wash, condition and treat my hair I’m using the she moisture Jamaican black castor oil line. I only chose that because it says on the bottle for chemically processed hair. Do you think this is a good product for me to use?
I KNEW I RECOGNISED YOUR FACE!!!!! I was watching "Praise this" and couldn't put my finger on where I knew you from! Your face was soooo familiar ahah It was from this very video/your hair videos! Great job, keep shining xx
When they wrapped your hair with the rods, did they use straws or something to keep the rubber bands on the rods from touching your hair?? If not that could have been the issue, also it may have been wrapped too tightly. Glad your hair is doing better either way!
Yeah, i've been black all my life sis and the only girls that look like me that don't have hair are those who really have no clue what to do when it comes to curls. Or they just don't care you absolutely must moisturize your curls no matter what kind of standard moisturizer you use.😐 My mother taught me that. BTW it definitely doesn't hurt to wash it once every two weeks at the most... IJS.🤷🏿 The whole point of curly perm is to make that easier to do. Not to skip moisturizing all together.🤦🏿 The same way your skin needs daily moisture so does your hair.😩
So, I’m not the part where you say that you went back a couple of times for them to refreshen your curl with Keratin and the neutralizer, am I right? If that’s the case it wasn’t the keratin that caused the fall out, it was the neutralizer. The neutralizer has hydrogen Peroxide in it. Hydrogen peroxide is also in the developer that goes along with permanent color. So what happened was , she over processed you with the HP. Even with the my GINACURL you can over process if the neutralizer is left on longer than the time required. Ok left me finish watching the Video.
Your very pretty. 🙂They should have never put a keratin treatment over a wave nouveau. The two chemicals aren't compatible. The reason it broke off is because it's over processed. Shampooing your hair at least once a week is important. Sulfate free shampoos are good and cleansing conditioners work well too. If you want healthy chemically treated hair you should cleanse and condition your hair frequently, removing product buildup and sweat. Enjoyed watching your video. Most black women do have hair. 🙂 smh "A healthy scalp means healthy hair."
Even though your hair is processed you still have 4c hair and 4c hair is naturally dry on top of that your have a chemical in it that requires moisture its alot of maintenance
Girl I got a Gina Curl...I have not experienced any of the stuff you are speaking upon. I’ve one application. Yes I have new growth but it’s manageable and blends nicely. I’m so sorry you experienced that with your hair. 😩
It is a curly perm/Jeri curl. You just don't have to keep it as moist/wet , so it looks more natural. I had A Wave Nouveau in the late 80's - early 90's. Loved it. The Hawaiian silky was a good one too. I tried them all! Grew fast, got a retouch every 3-4 months.
Great video I am natural and loving it but I do understand the struggle. You mentioned acting can you please point me in the right direction or recommendation for my daughter and maybe myself. Will love to start acting again.
Awesome, I just performed the same process on my kids' hair. Came out great. I posted a video of the process. Please remember to moisture everyday. Please share your Bali trip. I'm planning a trip for 2024
Keratin treatments take the bulk out of hair. That is probably why your hair looks a bit flat. Once it wears off your hair will look thicker. Not sure why you needed keratin as your hair was looking very healthy. Another youtuber with a curly perm is able to get away with using Aussie products without dryness. Anyway your singing for Christoff St. John was beautiful. Hope your career grows the way you dream.
LorenSharice I did hear that. But I was not sure you knew that keratin treatments had that effect. If you are interested, using Olaplex #3 may help you preserve more of your curl pattern with chemical treatments. Just use on a wash day after your treatment 1-2x a month or as needed. Best of luck and glad your hair is bouncing back.
Just a follow-up comment for those wanting this process. So.. about Cantu. I stopped using it cause my hair started to shed a lot. I got the wave nouveau products and the shedding has returned to normal. Also deep conditioning is a must
Thank you for your review. I got my Wave Nouveau on 5/30/19. I had one years ago and decided to go back after I saw your original video. I have had some shedding but it was due to trying other curly hair products. I have learned that the Wave Nouveau products are the best. I do wash once every other week and use One n Only Hydrating mask every other wash to stop the shedding caused by the other products. I use the moisturizing finishing lotion every other day but I use the finishing mist everyday using this methods makes it less wet. I too don’t touch or comb my hair after washing. l advise not using any other products. Your right, it is a system.
Brenda Fleming sorry for the late response; however, I did. The stylist that did it years ago is now retired. But, I did find a stylist who is into healthy hair and she was great! I am in New Orleans and there are several beauty schools owned and operated by old school stylist. Best decision I ever made for my 4a/b hair.
Keratin is a product used to press out hair and if done improperly it will cause your hair to fall out and there are specific shampoos and conditioners you can’t use along with it
Hi there, you and your hair are very pretty. Just a quick note: I went to J.C. Penny on 12/19/2021 for a Wave Nouveau and it did not curl. I went back the next day; the stylist re-rodded my hair, but it still did not curl. Since I was going out of town the next day, I spent more money and got a sew-in. I've had natural curly hair since 2011, however, the curls shrink to a short puff although my hair is shoulder length. I just wanted to stretch the natural curl. I pray that when I take my hair down and wash it, it will snap back.

Tyra James same here. I keep my hair braided and leave it as is.

You are so beautiful. I hope your hair continues to thrive.

#Loving my Gina Curl!!😍😍
A little about me:
Natural 4c 7 years now, shoulder length.

Yes I agree. It doesn't look naturally curly, her own texture was beautiful 🤷🏽♀️

Wave Nouveau tips:
Rods close together, no over directing
Don’t tighten the elastic tight against the scalp
See if the stylist can process only the roots when you go back for a retouch.
Rinse rinse rinse well
Pay attention to neutralizing timing.
Be sure ends are smooth and straight across within the end paper. So no pointing the ends of the hair and rolling the up on rod.
Laur, my GINACURL is so different than a wave nouveau or any other chemical out there on the market.
I get all my products from Japan
It can take up to 1 1/2 hours to apply the chemical. Your texture and length would cost between $550-$600
so I have a proposal for you, if you give your hair 8 months to repair, no chemical at all. I will give you a complementary GINACURL!!! You will be amazed at the difference!!!
Hair's Talent omg 😭😭 May I film it
LorenSharice of corse 💕
Hair's Talent ok! Well I’m not going in for my retouch then! I’m going to start documenting my journey now lol
Oh wow! I cant wait to follow this journey!
So frustrating :-(
I appreciate this video! There are so few videos on wave nouveau before and after! Keep them coming girl...👌🏽
Hmmm I'll be honest this shit seem like more work than dealing with my 4c hair 😂😩
Dajia Star omg I’m legit about to shed a tear😭😅 this is so beautiful and well put❤️
Dajia Star crunchy perm with heat damage 😂😂😂😂😂
She looks great, and I'm glad she was able to swim and wash and go, that was a fun experience for her to have in life.
gladitsnotme this is a good point too! Hair is just hair when you think of it
@Star I completely disagree with your point of view and how you say her hair doesn't look natural and healthy.
Oh...and you are so 😍😁
And you are on Y&R!!!!!!!😁🙋🏾♀️
Yeah I wanna see results from the largest rod size!
I know exactly where you’re coming from. I NEVER thought I had a hair identity, especially as a 4C girl. That’s why I did the big chop. I want to be proud of my hair. Some girls got it figured out! 😩😩

Yeah, how did they not know that? Something doesn't add up, they deliberately processed already processed hair.
@@sweetpeach3293 - You should do it. I did mine myself. Do some research before hand..
@@Zee_Babyyy how has your experience been after doing it yourself?
I think the one product was Curl Free.
cjsmomom well JCP salons offer the wave nouveau.
Omg... Keratin treatment right after a perm. I feel like they should lose their license for not knowing that 🤨
Thanks for the honest review. I'll stick with my chemical free, long, natural hair.
I’ve alway said this. In the 80s when the Jerry curl was really popular all those women had all their hair... full luscious hair. Then in the 90s relaxers became popular and addictive so we had to restart but for those who want textured hair specific, the Jheri Curl is the way to go.
Right because when i had a jheri curl in the 80s & early 90s it grew my hair out i had hair but when i got that relaxer it broke my off.

Ginacurl should definitely sponsor you. You would be their celebrity muse :- )
I cannot figure out if ginacurl is such a great hair procedure why they do not have celebrities that sponsor it and why there is only 1 hairstylist that can do it and no one else is just counterproductive. In the end people and celebrities are opting for the wave nouveau when the ginacurl could be killing it and making those of us who want it happy.
BTW: You would look great even if you had to shave it off. You are adorable!

Also they still sell carefree curl also
I came here to see about a curly perm too because I hateeeee shrinkage. But I love my curls. But all I get from this is “I struggled with my blackness my whole life” But Im praying for you beautiful queen. I blame it on the industry you’re in, black queens are mentally trained to hate themselves there.
The Curly Conundrum the longer your hair gets the less shrinkage you’ll have. Be patient girl ✊🏾😂
You're absolutely gorgeous!
Literally at the salon under the dryer about to get this done
Watched your first video like a week ago and decided to just do it I have been stuck under weave so long and want to get out
Tatyana Blanks
I mean, you don’t have to get a perm if you don’t want to wear weave...
That Thing You See At The Corner Of Your Eye I know
saturate it in wave nouveau products girl. start right lol
LorenSharice yes I have been doing it for 3 nights
4c hair loves moisture
Star Seed were you completely natural?
@@tyleanavenable5873 yea I was natural
Your hair was over processed, you had “chemical cut” and the breakage is due to lack of moisture.
U look like bonnie from the vampire diaries 🤩
That’s why I tap on the video
I’m in the UK and we call it curly perm we have always called it curly perm so calm down call it what you want !
So no she didn’t just make up the name 🙄
dee nadz Dee where do you get yours done?
Lol I know that's right 😂
Chyle thanks for this informative video. Your honesty, transparency and humor was appreciated 👍🏽
Hair's Talent / GINACURL hey Gina
I’m in the uk and I use the wave nouveau down here. To wash, condition and treat my hair I’m using the she moisture Jamaican black castor oil line. I only chose that because it says on the bottle for chemically processed hair. Do you think this is a good product for me to use?
@@marlasouth8205 hi, how you getting on with your hair? I'm thinking of doing mine🙈
@@GinaCurl A Keratin treatment is indeed a chemical process. It can cause excess shedding & thinning of the hair.
Such a beautiful lady. Good luck on the audition. I wish YR would let your beauty shine.
Thanks for your honest experience with the wn. Will be following your journey to the Gina curl.
You remind of my black Barbies especially the Shani brand
Take hair vitamins and drink a plenty of water your hair will grow! Don’t over process or manipulate your hair as well
Yeah, i've been black all my life sis and the only girls that look like me that don't have hair are those who really have no clue what to do when it comes to curls.
Well I think it’s the same as a relaxer you can’t reperm on top of old perm that’s where a lot of black ppl messed up in the straight perm era right?
So, I’m not the part where you say that you went back a couple of times for them to refreshen your curl with Keratin and the neutralizer, am I right? If that’s the case it wasn’t the keratin that caused the fall out, it was the neutralizer. The neutralizer has hydrogen Peroxide in it. Hydrogen peroxide is also in the developer that goes along with permanent color. So what happened was , she over processed you with the HP. Even with the my GINACURL you can over process if the neutralizer is left on longer than the time required. Ok left me finish watching the Video.
I can't wait to get my GINACURL this fall. I'm SOOOOO EXCITED!
Your eyebrows are freakin perfect. Wow
thanx i draw them to my liking lol
This makes so much sense!
4C hair requires a lot of maintenance and moisture also.
Girl I got a Gina Curl...I have not experienced any of the stuff you are speaking upon. I’ve one application. Yes I have new growth but it’s manageable and blends nicely. I’m so sorry you experienced that with your hair. 😩
Sheila Boulware can you give me any advice on the Gina Curl? Do you have to keep it moisturized like a Jheri curl? Any advice would help.
Team Young n the restless 💙💙💙 I been watching this for seems like 30 years with grandma 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You’re so freaking beautiful sis 🤩😍❤️thanx for the video
Great video I am natural and loving it but I do understand the struggle. You mentioned acting can you please point me in the right direction or recommendation for my daughter and maybe myself. Will love to start acting again.
You are drop dead gorgeous
Y’all are so damn over sensitive she was clearly joking
Awesome, I just performed the same process on my kids' hair. Came out great. I posted a video of the process. Please remember to moisture everyday.
Please share your Bali trip. I'm planning a trip for 2024
Keratin treatments take the bulk out of hair. That is probably why your hair looks a bit flat. Once it wears off your hair will look thicker. Not sure why you needed keratin as your hair was looking very healthy. Another youtuber with a curly perm is able to get away with using Aussie products without dryness. Anyway your singing for Christoff St. John was beautiful. Hope your career grows the way you dream.
reighn20 thank u so much! But I explained that hair is flat because it’s wet
Ggiiirrrlll you’re so pretty
Do what makes you feel beautiful 😊
Just a follow-up comment for those wanting this process. So.. about Cantu. I stopped using it cause my hair started to shed a lot. I got the wave nouveau products and the shedding has returned to normal. Also deep conditioning is a must
Over load on protein will also have your hair falling out (rice water)
Aiyanyi I actually struggle with maintaining protein
Hi I feel like we’re sisters from other mother 😂 what is the brand and the name of the white bottle for the reconstruction?
