I discovered you a short time ago and I subscribed to your channel immediately. I appreciate your teaching technique, your calm voice and your close-up camera. You are an outstanding example of how to teach without feeling you have to entertain and produce comic relief at the same time. Thank you for your dedication and for the wonderful example you set.
Oh my what a wonderful comment you are so incredibly kind ..and thank you for watching. I hope that you continue to enjoy my tutorials. Many thanks lel X X ❤️
When the grape harvest is over where I live in Italy there are always clusters of deep purple dried grapes that have basically become raisins. Then the veined leaves begin to turn. Reds, golds, yellows, but still with fading green leaves left, not that deep green of summer. This is the perfect paint effect you've created to capture what the vines look like. This is the time of year when I go out and collect the leaves and press them to use for making Christmas cards. I steal those purple clusters too for Christmas wreaths. The period I'm referring to doesn't last long. One good Autumn storm and it's all gone. Your beautiful piece of furniture captures that brief moment when you can look down over the vineyards and see colors that take your breath away. The difference is that your colors won't disappear overnight. Really beautiful piece of art.
Thank you for answering back so incredibly quickly! I love a fast response so I can go out and buy the necessary things I need to make masterpieces like yours… You are a master of your craft!… And a sweetheart
OMG !! Lel It’s GORGEOUS! GORGEOUS! Just WOW ! With that copper leaf . And the gilding wax . Just BRILLIANT! You are Such an Inspiring teacher . Just ❤ ya girl
Just as I think I’ve seen everything there is about painting furnitures, you have continuously amazed me with your style and techniques…thank you for being so generous in sharing your talent and skills with all of us out here! God bless such a giver…❤
I'm so glad I found this again. I've watched it tonight and bookmarked it. It's one of my favorite pieces. Although, Lel, you make it very hard to choose a favorite.
Yes get in there Carol.... Its exciting when you see something you want to try out. If you follow me on my socials message me and let me know how it all goes x x Lel
Thanks Kathy I'm glad you are enjoying our videos..... I was laughing today at your comment on Facebook. The comment where you said I had a magic wand..... 🤣🤣🤣
I've actually 🎨painted furniture mostly w my fingres ..using mostly acrylics .I hadn't planned it that way 😊but it just started as I went along in the process of painting this piece i had and I liked it.😎.! I had allot of compliments on it✨️🤩 ..people saying they never seen anything like it b4👀🎉😲 Anyway I wanted to do more but hadn't kept continuing.However.Watching and seeing this current popular trend pf ways of painting..embellishing furniture..has caught my imagination..Watching you is inspiring me to get back into painting furniture..I'd like to try this technique too!!..but also return to what I discovered myself some years ago.. 💯🌟Your teaching and Camera Work ( Thanks Martin 😂too !) Really Commendable 👑🏆🏅⭐️
Going back to see anything I might have missed and LOVE this piece! Copper is my favorite metallic and the techniques you used to apply it were great. I never thought of mixing it with water and spraying it on or outlining where you plan to use the copper leaf - simply awesome! Beautiful results!
Dear, what kind of lacquer did you use on it and how long did you wait before applying the lacquer ? You then used the wax, how long did you wait before you applied the wax? dark wax or clear wax? Thank you xxx I love you and Marty
Okay when my paint was dry by dry I mean it no longer feels cold.....about half a day. Not cured that takes 28 days just dry. I applied 2 coats of rustoleum laquer leaving a few hours between each application. side note I now use French chic top coat as you have watched an old video. When the laquer was dry again when it feels dry totally dry a few hours I then waxed...
Dear Lel If this piece had not already been painted, would you have put primer on it? Second question, What’s an equally good primer to use if it’s not Annie Sloan? It’s just too pricey, yet I want something that goes on nicely, easy clean up and compatible with chalk paint. Might you help love?
If this piece had not been painted I wouldn't have primed it... I don't use primer. Annie Sloan is a no prime no prep paint so I don't..... I jyst normally give my pieces at least 2 good coats of paint. As I don't use primer I can't really recommend one I do use zinnzer Bin if I get bleed you could use this..... X
Love your work. Every piece is amazing! And you are a great teacher. Not sure if it's my phone or what, but I'm having a bit of a hard time hearing you. Did not have that issue when your husband did his piece. Your voice is so soft. But you are a genius artist and I can watch you for hours.
This video is one I filmed myself when I first started it's an old one. Back then I didn't wear a mic, now I always wear one so for the last year the sounds is better any videos later than that the sound is quite. I'm sorry it has involved as time has gone on.... X x
Sooo much patience :-) and such a rewarding result! Thank you for the generosity of taking us though the detailed process! May you have great luck with finding the right clients for your amazing work!
This is such a gorgeous treatment! Even before it was all finished, it was stunning. Beautiful!! ❤️💖🥰🇨🇦 (Some time ago you recommended checking out the journal mixed midea artists on UA-cam, and I wanted to thank you for that suggestion. I have learned so much and my art has definitely improved! ❤️)
Oh yeah the journal gals have it all going on.... Layers, texture, focal points, even colours. I was trying to say that in a smaller scale these techniques can be projected in a larger scale onto furniture.... I'm really glad you left me this comment and I'm so grateful you watch Lel x
I am absolutely in love with your style of painting furniture!!!! You have a new subscriber for life!!! You definitely deserve way more subscribers!!!!

Lel you mentioned that we did not get to see you lacquer it and put on the handles. What kind of lacquer did you use? How long did you wait before applying the lacquer, after having painted it?
Yes at the time I shot this video I used rustoleum laquer...... I now use French chic tough coat I use this on all of my furniture. If you look at some of my more recent videos you can see how I apply it. Sorry you didn't see me do this I generally skip the boring parts. Lel x
As I showed in the video they were stamps and I used gold leaf..... If its the flowers the stamp came from IOD.... Look them up for your nearest stockist x

I can’t seem to find that wonderful glue of yours here. You say Hard As Nails? What’s comparable to that? Thank you so so much?

Could you restamp the flowers on top of the copper?
Mmm yes I think you probably could Gail, you can paint onto copper leaf so I imagine yes you could... Hope this helps x

Hi love the unit and the finish , who’s stamp is it if I may ask ?
It's the IOD stamp called peonies... X
Dear Marley, where can I get these flowers for the furniture?
As I showed in the video they were stamps and I used gold leaf..... If its the flowers the stamp came from IOD.... Look them up for your nearest stockist x
