2023 is going to be my year of not just painted furniture (done that) but decorated furniture. And you are my go-to teacher. Thank you so much for your style and help. Just the best I've found on UA-cam. Thanks Lel.

Marley, first of all, I LOVE your name. You are the first real person that I know whose name is Marley.
secondly, I love that you are authentic. so many American DIY's try to have this perfectly clean (staged) work place and it's just not real. Painting, art, creating are messy. You are real. Thank you.
Lastly, I LOVE that you are having fun, that you are not in a hurry, just going with it. Again, so many videos I watch, everyone is about speed, about turning over each piece of furniture as quickly as possible. It's all about money. Not fun. I LOVE that you are having fun, enjoying the process. Thank you so very much.
And, I have never thought of using stencils as "sketches" and actually painting over them. What a clever idea. I have stencils but have not been using them, because I don't want my work to look stenciled on, but using stencils the way you do is just fantastic. I will try it now. AWESOME! Thank you.
Lastly, I LOVE this piece of furniture. I love what you have done with it, all the different designs. It's a fun, joyful, vibrant piece.
    Thank you.

    • @MadebyMarley

      Yay....glad you enjoyed this.
Yes if you want your stencil pieces to look like there not a stencil you just need to add layers and then they sit well on furniture.... Hope you try the background trick 😊
Ha ha yes I'm messy when I create I guess I'm using multiple paints and tools and brushes and creating not only furniture art but a huge mess as I go . Often it's easy to film a clean looking video if your just using one colour then sealing your work ..
If you want to have fun then I guess it's gets messy. I believe it should be fun and good for the soul.
Thanks for your lovely and very kind comments
      Lel x ❤️❤️

I know I've commented on this before, because it's at least my 3rd time watching it. Just want to say how lovely and generous, honest and no nonsense you are in teaching people how to get a gorgeous result without spending a fortune.
I've watched your very early videos when Marty dismantled pallets and made fantastic boxes out of them. Then you painted and decorated them using practically nothing. Beginners could benefit greatly from taking advantage of those videos. They're priceless.❤

We all begin somewhere but it's really down to people like you Elena that we make friends with along the way that keep us going.
Sometimes I think it's all got a little to complicated and the old ways can be forgotten. I learned from everything and I think if you have any information or can help you should give it freely....it's not all about the fancy stuff, you and I both know you can paint furniture with very little. It's what you do with the little you have that really makes the creative brain problem solve and create unique pieces ...
Hope you are well my friend X X ❤️

    • @elenalatici9568
      @elenalatici9568 Рік тому +1

@@MadebyMarley Very well said and 100% true. It's in the doing of anything that you learn. I have become disillusioned by "furniture flippers" as opposed to furniture artists who are truly creative. In my experience with writing your can't think about money while in the process of creating.
Before I set out to translate the Italian novel I insisted upon no money changing hands until and unless it was published. I learned a tremendous amount while doing it, plus the experience of learning how to work gently with a writer to bring out the best. It's a win/win situation no matter how you slice it.
Also (and then I'll shut up)
I think a lot of people watch all of these videos, decide they want to try, then check the prices of the paint, etc., and give up because they can't afford it, so hat's off to you! I'm fine, thank you, and enjoying my nightly visits from my little friend, Esme, the fox.

I thought a cost saving video would help others as it's expensive to buy all the stamps and transfers and I know it can get costly. I'm glad you like my style I guess it's because I taught that I try to approach the videos in the way I would a class. That way they are easy to follow and copy...I actually get photos sent to me on my social media of others who have created by work for themselves and sometimes I have to do a double take as it's so much like mine ...this is fabulous as I guess I'm obviously teaching it okay. Ha ha

Mikki my very best advice if your starting out is to find paint on a deal a chalk paint would be the best. Then if your budget is tight get a pack of Stencils these are good on a budget then apply them on layers onto your furniture. The effect is fabulous and you can use your cheap Stencils over and over again....
Transfers are expensive and you only get one time use...
