I have quickly become an addict to your unique style of furniture art. Your use of so many elements and techniques is unbelievable, and with each piece I've seen of yours, you leave me speechless. Watching your well-produced videos is so inspiring and uplifting, with such creative and superb ideas, you have a style of your own that brings tremendous joy. Truly works of art and feast for the eyes! Thank you again for sharing your amazing talents for us to enjoy and appreciate.
Kathy I am so glad we found each other. Firstly thanks for such a wonderful comment. That's so very kind of you. I'm glad you enjoy our channel and I'm so happy that you like the diffrent way to approach furniture art. Love Lel x
I knew as soon as I saw the peacock blue and the floral moulds that I was going to love this piece! I’m so glad your channel is growing, I think you are one of the greats so I’m not surprised! You and Martyn are the dynamic duo and the fact that you live in the country in Scotland and your studio is an ancient stable makes your channel one of a kind! ❤❤❤❤❤
Ha ha jenny.... We are so grateful that you watch us but feel also really humble. We never imagined that people would want to watch me paint my furniture. The stable is great I love it it's my happy place... But it does get very very cold x x
Every week you knock your project out of the park. I absolutely love making something out of nothing. And I love watching you work your many talents around each piece as you envision it. The process is part of the joy. Anyone can buy a brand new piece of furnature, stick it in a room and be "happy," but life happens. Dogs chew, kids dirty fingers smear, things get nicked and dented and old. Using your imagination and talent to not just restore beauty, but transform a piece into a fantastic art statement? That's pure magic right there. Well, part magic and tons of work. This piece you rescued is just amazing. and I can't really express how much I love it. ❤️
Thanks so very much that is an incredibly kind comment. I guess as well my furniture is child dog and chip proof.... Ha ha as often I paint in a way that if they got a bang or a chip it adds character.... My little granddaughter is very hard on my own furniture and it just adds to its look. I love your comment x x
That combo of decoupage and moulds is a fabulous idea. So often the furniture is too big for the paper. Another beautiful piece and great tips Lel thank you so much. More power to your elbow 😊. When you get to 10, 000, write a book!!
Another Awesome Sunday morning spent with my favorite people☺️ I have wondered why so many people use hot glue to make moulds.. I see different takes on it, but really haven’t tried it myself..good to hear opinions from both sides..hoping you have a wonderful week and I’ll be looking forward to next Sunday☕️
Wow, I'm so glad you picked up this piece. You brought it to life! It turned out so cute and romantic! Also, love your sweet and fun banter together. Brings so many smiles watching your videos! Can't wait for next Sunday!
Awesome to see the texture secondary to everything else...you know what I'm like. I reckon that would make the cutest little bathroom vanity with the right basin 🧡🧡🧡
What a gorgeous paper..it reminds me of one of Botticelli's paintings 'Mars and Venus'..absolutely stunning piece of furniture you have created ..with Martin's help for the reversed image 😁😁❤ hugs 🫂 from London❤
Pretty much speechless right now. A tutorial FULL of wonderful Lel and Martyn tidbits. Who could ask for anything more! Amazing piece. I appreciate the info about the hot glue molds. Right now I only put molds on my smalls as I don’t have a stash for larger pieces. But that’s next on the wish list! Keep on doing everything you are doing…including the Martyn microphone. Lovin it!
Fab as always! I wish I could spend a day inside that creative brain of yours. I am sure I would come away a lot less timid when I approach a furniture project. I’m always amazed at your talent. The drawer pulls were genius!
Better than Brangelina for sure!!! 😄 Beautiful piece Lel! I love the teals/turquoise/terra cotta colors. Great to hear the lovely Martyn! Have a wonderful week!!!
Amazing Lel. I am gobsmacked at your knowledge and generous sharing. Ive learnt heaps , but mostly love love love the banter between you and Martin. Blessings blowing your way for a great Christmas 2024. Cheers, Zig.❤
I’m totally enjoying everything you do! It really unnerves me, thought. Sometimes you absolutely ruin a beautiful piece of furniture, then bring it back, step-by-step to something even more special than what you started with! I’m not currently able, but looking forward to having the time to ‘ruin’ a piece for myself! I’m also enjoying hearing the ‘Scottish lilt’! I’m learning what I might have sounded like if things were different!
Hi Terry, I'm glad you enjoy our channel, and we appreciate you watching. How about a diffrent way of thinking. Maybe try looking at it this way , the furniture that you think I'm ruining isn't wanted... This piece was found by the side of a road had suffered huge water damage. If no one wants something and it's going to landfill then instead if thinking I'm ruining it try thinking I'm saving it instead. I'm a furniture artist I make my income from painting furniture everything on my channel will be painted, So please don't be nervous as it's all okay. Nothing I paint is perfectly good..... Its either unwanted due to its age or is broken or out of fashion. Stick with us I promise nothing is ruined it's what feeds my family...... So onwards and upwards to me and you when your ready to ruining lots and lots of furniture 😂😂😂❤️
Yes, Lush! Bomb Proof... Interesting that you can get air bubbles in the molds with hot glue. Those 2 colors look so lovely together. Those handles! I just love when the two of you chuckle together! Love you both, Deb
You’re so good to us! An amazing video a week…thank you! And what a gorgeous set of techniques-I love the try-it-let’s-see-what-happens approach! Question: Did the hot glue dry white or did you paint them?
Thanks for another fabulous video!!! I think I’m still an air dry clay gal too!!!! I just love how it’s more hands on than risking hot melt glue gun burns!!!! Thanks again!

This piece is fantastic and those knobs are really special. I love watching your techniques because they are willy nilly but also deliberate...very deliberate. You teach so well. I will get a piece to practice these techniques on. Thanks so much for explaining how to make a piece your own!

I hope that made sense lol. I bet you’ll have seven by Christmas. This is so definitely a coastal vibe and really looks like an antique from a home in a fishing town.👍🏼👏🏼♥️♥️
What in the world kind of printer do you use to get such gorgeous prints?!? I’m envious 😂 I no absolutely love your process altogether. You often say out loud the things that happen in my brain.
We own our own decoupage company.... And yes they are industrial and huge and very costly to run.... However when I make a print they are vibrant and beautiful. I guess they have to be if I sell my work. I'm So glad you enjoyed this. X x x
I am laughing beyond tears right now! I just put my maximalist made by Marley piece up today in a challenge, and I have another Lel quote with what I see as an accent in it! Now. You must know I just viewed your wonderful vid, so you said it at least twice. Or martin did. You need some merch. Shirts with Lels rules to live by as a furniture artist. I am still giddy over it!!
Oohh Dar we just love "leave it alone" it's became a thing marty and I say to each other.... We call it do a Dar.... You made us laugh so much, thanks so much you are so talented and incredibly funny. We are truly grateful that you watch us and are living your creative journey.... I’ve also wondered about hot glue because I’ve see so many crafters use it but I usually stick to resin. I have created my own chalk paint using Calcium Carbonate though rather than Plaster of Paris. It works well too. I can’t say enough how much I love small pieces like this! They are so versatile! I love the combination of moulds and paper! Now I want to be a mermaid 😂 Great job Lel❤❤❤ P.S. I’m still shocked by the fact that Scotland doesn’t have things left on the side of the road😮 My neck would probably be a lot straighter if I wasn’t always looking for roadside junk😂
Cassandra you are one person I can rely on for absolutely making me laugh.... Ha ha If furniture was on the side of the road here I would look like an ostrich ha ha ha ha
I think this came out beautiful for something you were playing around with. It looks really pretty. I have tried the hot glue in molds but I really don’t like them. They have lots of air pockets inside. But I love watching you and I learn a lot. So thank you much!
Hola!!!
Had to rewatch this video with the mermaid paper, since now I have my own copies! Yea! I thought about using them on a large lampshade, but then I thought I would have to charge too much to cover the cost of this decoupage paper... UNLESS, I made it for myself? Possibly... Watching your rust technique, and the blending around the paper was important for me to see again. Love this piece, then and now. I have a feeling you were pleased with the finished piece, but this paper does not do it for you... It will be interesting to see how others who also wanted this paper decide how they'll use it? Always so hard for me to use your paper since I can't use it frivolously, it has to be for something I deem important enough for me to part with it. Silly, isn't it... Watching your videos again, makes me realize how much I missed just watching it once.
I’ve just clicked on to your video today. I know that you know what I’m doing right now…💃🏽Yup, I’m doing my happy dance👯♀️.Because it’s almost an hour, and 25 minutes long😃. I can’t wait to see how you’re Going to create this unique piece that you gave us a quick peek of😯. By the way, 🍁 autumn 🍂 is my favorite season of the year🤸🏽♀️, so I know that this is going to be extra good and special🤩.
Autumn is my favourite time of the year... I love the trees and the colours and if it doesn't sound to weird to say... I love the smell.... Ha ha I'm a weirdo. X x
My first "go to" will always be clay, love the final look of clay. Resin is scary, glue is cheaper and I don't feel so bad when mould doesn't turn out.@@MadebyMarley
I Live In Virgia In The US On The Coast And That Would Sell So Well Here-Beautiful Piece. I Love Listening To You Two Interacting DURING the Video. Thank You For Sharing Your Process. ❤️
This is stunning!!!! I just heard about your decoupage paper today & did a search & your short came up for this piece. Would love this paper & yes subscribed.
Dear Lel and Martyn,Beautiful job! It’s so serendipitous of you to do hot glue castings, using paint you made yourself and putting paint with a roller on your stamp- that’s exactly all the topics I’ve been researching this week, so I was so excited to see you cover these topics today! Your results are incredible, I absolutely love the paint colors you used. Thank you! My sister was in Scotland this past week and I was jealous- I told her my favorite artist is from Scotland. We’re in the United States, in Ohio. Anyways, thank you both for all your hard work. ❤ Forgot to sign my note: Xoxo, Brandi
I feel the same Brandi! My sister was not in Scotland, but if she was I would be extremely jealous because MY favorite artist is in Scotland too! AND , I also am in Ohio! 🙌🏻. Small world!
Love the finish and the that colour is gorgeous. I've never used hot glue, I just don't like the idea of it, I use clay or resin and that's what I'll carry on using I think
I really enjoyed today's video! Thank you. I also love the 'dancing peacock' color. Our newly remodeled bedroom ( I waited 56 years for this) is shades of this color. What did you use to glue the hot glue flowers to the cabinet? Your usual glue from Poundland? I may buy some of that glue the next time we get to visit the UK. I will mail it home!!! We don't have any like that here. Another question, please. How would you clean this furniture? How can it be dusted? I have learned so much from you. I repeat what I said to you before...you have given me permission to color outside of the lines!!! Thank you!
It's a beautiful colour.... You must be so glad your room has been redecorated. Do you want me to send you some glue? And because if tough coated the furniture I would just brush in the details and wipe it with a wet warm cloth x x
Teal and orange - the cinematographer's *dream combo!* Google it, and see how often they use it in film and TV! 😄 It honestly looked lovely at 14:00, but your embellishments are absolutely *_gorgeous!_* Well done, Lel. 🤍
I use plaster of Paris and just mix powder directly in the paint and it works too. I have added a little water if I have left over paint tho. Thanks for all ur tutorials, luv ur work! 💞. How did u glue molds, with the glue gun or wood glue? I didn’t catch that. I’ve made some b4 & think I used wood glue.
Hi Irene I'm so sorry I can't remember. It's a redesign by prima stamp so best go to a stockist and have a look. I'm so sorry I can't find it to tell you the name x
Those are my flowers and leaves with a vintage mermaid image that is free source that I changed the hair etc on then added it to my design.... As for reverse image ha ha I'm not sure Elena marty does it on the computer when printing. It's way over my head. I will get him to message you if you want.
I am excited to look at your Decoupage papers for sale, usually the ones I like are too pricey from Redesign. Do you make transfers or planning to? The paint inlay transfers from Redesign look beautiful but again too pricey.😊
What a coincidence, just last night we were going to a side job [ drywall finishing ] and I saw a beautiful Oak tree with just a few orangey yellow leaves on it, and I said that it was so pretty, so I started to tell my husband and grandson that we should go up to the BLM land and see the Evergreen, Pine, etc. LOL my husband doesn't know much english, he is from Mexico, but my grandson says '' grandma why do you think trees are pretty, there just trees ''. I was like, for one God put them here, and mother nature is beautiful. Anyway like you said the younger generation have better things to look at. We live in the boonies, here in Montana, gorgeous land, mountains, farms with cattle, we live 15 minutes from the nearest town ,if you want to call it a town. LOL. O.K. I'm going to stop Marley, I know once I get chitty chatting I can go on forever. Again, and I know you are probably tired of hearing me, I love all your work. You are so blessed with an incredible imagination. Hi to the lovely Martin.
Thanks so much for asking me this interesting question. I explain everything in my moulds 101 video. I detail but here's a quick answer. Paint if knocked hard enough can be scraped of furniture so if you add a mould on top of paint it's not stable. It appears okay but it's not as stable as gluing your moulds onto your furniture. And not with wood glue as wood glue is not suitable for clay or resin.... The glue should be an all purpose glue. And the moulds if clay should be dry before painting as your strapping moisture into your furniture. These are best practice tips as I've been doing this so long. I've seen so many thing ha ha And I have learned there are really no corners you can cut especially if you plan to sell your work. I think it's okay for smalls but for a piece of furniture I hope to sell for quite a large sum of money all always want the piece of mind and the security that I'm going to have a happy customer. Hope this helps x x Thanks so much for watching and your comment x

Awesome job and Hello to Martin! Thanks for another fab video!
We will always big up the lovely marty x
Gorgeous I would definitely have this in my house, what an amazing talking piece.
Thanks that's a really kind comment x x x
I think this came out beautiful for something you were playing around with. It looks really pretty. I have tried the hot glue in molds but I really don’t like them. They have lots of air pockets inside. But I love watching you and I learn a lot. So thank you much!
Yesss not something I will be repeating but good to know.... But to much work trying to clean up around those moulds x
Hola!!!
What a beautiful and wonderful comment thanks so very much, I'm so glad you watch and forever grateful for your encouraging comments x
Amazing up grade! It really was sad in its bare state. I love the colors!
Thanks so much, yes those colours really work x
I love it! So unique! You are so talented and I really appreciate you teaching how to do so many different techniques!
Thanks so much that's such a kind comment x x
Stunning ❤
Just use it sydni then email me and I will send you more......
Very beautiful! Very good taste! 😍
Thanks for the technique.
Thanks so much, that's very kind of you. X
Another beautiful piece ❤❤❤
Thanks so much x x
I’ve just clicked on to your video today.
I know that you know what I’m doing right now…💃🏽Yup, I’m doing my happy dance👯♀️.Because it’s almost an hour, and 25 minutes long😃. I can’t wait to see how you’re Going to create this unique piece that you gave us a quick peek of😯. By the way,
🍁 autumn 🍂 is my favorite season of the year🤸🏽♀️, so I know that this is going to be extra good and special🤩.
Autumn is my favourite time of the year... I love the trees and the colours and if it doesn't sound to weird to say... I love the smell.... Ha ha I'm a weirdo. X x
When I use hot glue in my moulds, I use pin nails and glue to secure the moulds. I feel better and I know they aren't coming off
Hmmm yes that's a great idea. However it was really just an experiment I don't think it's for me.. But I love your idea x

I love this. Learn something every time I watch
Brilliant that's great to hear, thanks so much for watching x
Another beautiful piece ❤❤ love the handles thanks for the tips , hot glue and I don't get on 😊 I will stick to resin or clay xx
Susan it smells bad and it's it burns and as I showed makes a very messy job x
Congratulations on getting past 6K subscribers. So well deserved by you both.
Thanks Sally really hoping to get to 7k by Christmas x x
@@MadebyMarley That'd be great. We'll keep the comments going and help to trigger YT into suggesting your videos to others. xx
I absolutely love this design! 💯❣️
Thanks so much x
Luv the turquoise color! Sides look great2
Thanks so much for watching x
1:21:15 I love the mermaid/titanic theme. Beautiful!
Ha ha ha...... I often wonder what's going on in my head x
Forgot to sign my note:
Xoxo, Brandi
I feel the same Brandi! My sister was not in Scotland, but if she was I would be extremely jealous because MY favorite artist is in Scotland too! AND , I also am in Ohio! 🙌🏻. Small world!
Oh brandi....well if you get over here happy to meet for coffee and of course cake x x
@@lisachiboroski9930 wow, that’s crazy! Thank you for your kind words. Maybe we’ll get to meet Lel & Martyn face to face… someday. 💕
Wow this is just stunning. Thank you for all the advise, tips and tricks. Great video.
You are so welcome! And can I say a big thank you yo you x x
@@MadebyMarley That's so sweet of you. x
I'm really enjoying your process here. It's interesting and inspiring.
Yes it came from those very messy moulds but it worked out okay in the end x
Lovely piece😍😍
Thanks so much x
Love the finish and the that colour is gorgeous. I've never used hot glue, I just don't like the idea of it, I use clay or resin and that's what I'll carry on using I think
No of you take my advice I wouldn't bother.... Its messy, smells bad and not great for the environment..... X x
another beautiful job!
Thanks so much x x x
Beautiful 🌷🌷☀️
Thank you! Cheers! X x
It honestly looked lovely at 14:00, but your embellishments are absolutely *_gorgeous!_* Well done, Lel. 🤍
I never new that....
It did look lovely but up close unfortunately it needed everything to hide the mess of the glue behind the moulds x x x
Loved your project.
Thanks so much x
I soo loved this. Such a Sea of Love. Really marvelous
Thanks so much, I'm glad you like x
I use plaster of Paris and just mix powder directly in the paint and it works too. I have added a little water if I have left over paint tho. Thanks for all ur tutorials, luv ur work! 💞.
How did u glue molds, with the glue gun or wood glue? I didn’t catch that. I’ve made some b4 & think I used wood glue.
I used a thick all purpose glue for my moulds. Thanks so much for watching x x
Beautiful!
Thanks so much x x
A fabulous transformation wow it could definitely have been pulled from the North Sea 🤔, thanks both 🙌❤️
Ha ha ha yes with all that crusty rust x
Amazing as alway's❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much x x
What is the name of the Stamp. Love it
Hi Irene
I'm so sorry I can't remember.
It's a redesign by prima stamp so best go to a stockist and have a look.
I'm so sorry I can't find it to tell you the name x
Your fantasy is unleashed :) Unbelievable!
Thanks so much that's very kind of you x
Wow, you performed a miracle on that decrepit piece. I love, love, love the color, so vibrant. Is that one of your decoupage papers?? It's beautiful.
It's a paper I just made for myself.... Do you think people would like this?
Yes, especially if they like mermaids.
Stunning !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder Rose jumped back on that ship! She wanted her chest !!!!
If it had been floating at the end do you think they could have both got on it..... Ha ha ha
Valspar paint is acrylic based, the cheaper paints are usually latex based, all forms of plastic really, with Acrylic being the best x
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
So that paper is an image you found online, or is it new decoupage paper? How do you get a reverse image? 🤔
Fabulous happy creating ❤️
Yes the young have to many things to do. Where I think we become more mindful when old x
Stuning!!!!!!
Thanks so much Diane x x
Marley. Do you sell that mermaid print. Love it !!!
Email sales@madebymarley.co.uk and tell us it's about mermaids we can print custom x
Preciosa!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You can use Coarse Sea salt. It works well for texture
Yes you can, and sawdust and just about anything x
you mentioned not to put moulds on top of paint. What's the reason? I've done it and had no problems.
I've seen so many thing ha ha
And I have learned there are really no corners you can cut especially if you plan to sell your work.
I think it's okay for smalls but for a piece of furniture I hope to sell for quite a large sum of money all always want the piece of mind and the security that I'm going to have a happy customer.
Hope this helps x x
Thanks so much for watching and your comment x

Just email sales@madebymarley.co.uk and explain its the mermaid paper, marty will sort you out x
What is the name of that texture please?
Hi Janice it's just clay... Have a search for bentonite clay.
I buy mine on Amazon... If you struggle to find it just message back.
Lel x
Calcium carbonate is the thing to make chalk paint that's what's in professional chalk paint it's cheap off amazon
Thanks so much x
Stanchions, the first word I googled in this video.. I like this word…2nd reticent 👍🏼3rd word sambaing.😂 this one took me a moment to figure out how our pronunciation is so different 😂 💃🦚
I guess yes.... I'm so sorry for all that googling Mrs jax ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Goodness no need for that.. I adore your words and pronunciations.. I love learning new words. You’re fantastic and obviously well read
