Holy crap when you bent that thing I about had a heart attack and freaked out!!!! That dam thing is bendy!!!!!!!!! Wow quality built right there
In all seriousness: you really know your wrenching stuff (screw placement, wiring, ect.) , as well as your camera skills (what to focus on, editing ect.) Keep up the great work!
Thanks, appreciate that!
I'm noticing that. Rule of thirds, eye line, lead space, framing. It's not amateurish.
Pickin up some stuff as I go!
I'll be dipped if a feller doesn't got what it takes
Great video..i got cought watching the video..at my friends wedding ...at least your video will last lol
ahaha thats great
😂😂😂😂 Ya the gauge package has a way better chance....
You savage! Hahaha
Hahahahahahaha...savage but accurate
I may only be 15 but I have a 79 camaro and if you have taught me anything its that all 7 need to do is change the blinker fluid and she'll be factory
Nailed it
Don't forget the piston return springs. If those wear out, she'll run poor.
@@ViceGripGarage when are you gonna fix the rust on this car?
Don't forget the muffler bearings.
I own a 79 camaro to I been working on for 20years i got under stand it's a lot of work and up keep
Dash work makes me rethink my life choices
Adding the digicals? That's Fact-ry.
I used to be a "Roadkill" fan, until they went Mopar up the bunghole!! So this is my new favorite regular guy garage show. Love the humor, and I learn a thing or two about being a really bad mechanic! So win win!!!
Un Garza and they make you go on motortrend and get a subscription just to watch, definitely changing over as well
I can't believe you don't have more subs.I enjoyed every video so far.All I ask, is can you make more??
Thank you man, appreciate that
Love the fact that you work in an old shed like most of us out there Neighbor. Cold, buggy, dark and on the floor.
I don't think I've ever seen a single car of yours that has a "constant" positive voltage anywhere in it...
Holy crap. When you said you were working on the digicals, this time they actually were digicals. Very impressive parts and install.
Been following you on UA-cam for almost a year... This was probably the most serious I've seen you in a video. Very informative, organized. Keep up the great work!
yup. He was schoolin us real good on that one.
Love this feller, his talent sure is mind bottling. A guy would love to drink beer with Mr. Derek Bieri but I'll be dipped, Minnesoooooda is a long way from Massachusetts. Maybe some day I'll run my 62 Bel Air his way!
more
The tach is my favorite gauge too! Love seeing her hanging out around the 7k mark warming up the ole drag radials at the racin track
I’m hooked on your videos man. I’ve done lots of projects myself so I appreciate what you’re putting out there. These are the kind of videos people need to see. Keep it up brother!!
It looks like a very nice set up. It is also nice that you left the harness uncut. even though those connectors might have a longevity issue, If there sealed up good they last quite a while. Thank You for sharing this product, Not everyone needs a Holley dash. this one works great for a daily driver and also enough information to race a little.
I had a 68 Chevelle SS 396 back in 75 when I was a kid. Talk about gauges I could clearly see the gas gauge going down when I got on it. Boy wish I still had that car.
Love the show man pure genius I’m always learning new things but always in an entertaining way keep it up
thank you
Jesus I have never seen surface mounted components abused quite like that. You were an absolute animal to that poor pcb!!
Perfect.
Just finished watching ALL ... most... a lot of your videos. They really helped me get thru this covid sickness. Your humor was well received. Thanks! 👍🏻🇺🇸
A guy likes the looks of these gauges way better than any Dakota Dijical dashes he's ever seen.
That’s some back to the future wizardry right there Doc!
Hope your doing the power tour this year! All the cars drive through our little town while on the way to Champagin IL. We literally shut down our body shop (and half the town) to watch them all day!!!
I’m an old fella . 60 next year .
Not an old boy by a long way .
I do like that digital dash .
Looks really clean and tidy .
Damn. That cluster looks cool as hell. Great job
In the 90's I helped work on dirt track race cars. I ripped out dashes from the late 70's greats: Monties, Gutlesses and Regals and the headlight switch was always a pain. Thanks for the video it really brought back some fond memories.
Really digging your approach to what you do. Thank you!
Was starting to have a really bad day and decided to turn on a vgg vid and wouldn't you know it a guy calmed right down in a hurry and I ain't kidding ya! Thanks man
Very useful information for someone who is going to do that type of conversion, as usual a great video Derek, hope you and your family are all good.
Great video, thanks for all the info. I'm currently working on a very rusty 69 mustang that looks real good from about 300 feet or so. I've watched many of your videos and learning something from each one. Keep up the good work.
I built a custom gauge cluster in my project truck and you just can't beat Intellitronix and Dakota Digital when it comes to gauges. Both are made in the good ole U-S-of-A and both have great warranty's.
My first car was a 1987 Vauxhall (GM) Nova. I converted the dials to the digital ones from the Astra GTE and I had to change all the same digicles - even the speedo cable attachment was the same. Look great dude, a guy was up there with the coolness of the finished job
I’m working on a 69 Chevelle project. I will order this gauge set all I got to do is get their number!! Love your install and they look great. Way better than original. Keep smoking them tires!!! Thanks for sharing.
440-359-7200x206 thanks!
Thanks I had my gauge cluster in my hand earlier and I got the number to call glad you responded back to me. Love your videos. My 69 will be 468 Co 9inch 4 wheel power disc brakes. Boxed frame and 2 inch lowering kit . New interior and paint. I have body on rotessiery at the minute. You make me want a get on it.😎😎☝️
That is a hot dash. Then red to mach the car. Nice choice. They did look bright so the smoked lenses are a great choice. Nice work😀
I found a lot of that rats nest under the seat of my 68 f100 which also had a tear in the seat with missing foam. Used some of the rats nest to re-cushion the tear and duct tape over top. Add on a seat cover all... Luxury ridin!
Gotta love how a guy uses his mouse sucker 500 to remove a dead body or 47
Got mine in 1997 or so and its still going minus a wheel or two.
Thanks for the Video....Wow....you went with the Digiclse....Very impressive.... You did a really nice install. A moment of silence for the mouse family that gave their life for Chevrolet..... I hope you had a great Holiday.... Regards.
thanks bud!!
well a guy went and binge watched all the VGG vids over the last few week, so was pretty glad that a new one was up tonight. Also saw you guest star with the "Rust Avengers" on that Deboss garage channel with captain Black Sparrow fellow. keep up the good work, maybe on that fresh 79 Camaro since the radio works.
Looks to be a quality built part. Yep, I'll be Look'n into them.. Thanks for the review & install demo. Yes indeed the tach is my favorite gauge as well...!!!
thanks Roger!
Mechanical and colloquial genius. Love it vice grip dude !!
Thanks bud. I was thinkin' on these for my '67 C10, cuz it's hard to beat the price. Seeing them in action has me convinced. I'll get mine in green, for obvious reasons. Cheers!
When i recently added a remote lock system to my car i went to the junkyard and grabbed the harness (both sides) i was supposed to cut into and made my connections through that junk one, then just added it in line with the factory plugs. That way i could easily connect in the new wires and preserve my factory wiring. Could do all the connections at my bench as well. Thanks for the videos.
More goodness! Thanks for being you V double G!
Great install! You make it look so easy! Love all your videos!
thanks Dean
always cool to watch the install videos keep up the weight reduction of the dead mouse removal
Another top-notch vid buddy. I have to agree, modern visible gauges turns our driving experience around in one these old buckets. I was always a 'Focus on the drive line first, comfort comes second' guys. I put in a Digital Dakota set myself because I wanted the analog dials instead but having put 2500 miles on my car since last year, 500 of those with auxiliary gauges and a android tablet with a Bluetooth sender from the LS2 ECU, there is no comparison. Your eyes fall much easier on to the gauges without looking from the road or squinting or being blinded by glare. It's not cheap, but it's not worth skimping when it comes to gauges because they really do make it safer and more enjoyable to drive.
Nice upgrade VGG! A guy might think about this for future projects!
When a fella gets a little older my brother and I discovered the headband lights, good for two hand work in darker spaces like under your dash.Under 20 bucks but priceless! Worked on beaters for years out of necessity, wish I had your knowledge and access to youtube and the “ interweb” back then. Would have been “perfect”
I learn so much from your video's, I'll keep watching.
Rewired, and she didn't burn to the ground? That's the ol' thumbs up of approval from the big man in the sky.
I've been there done that I put intellitronix gauges in me 79 Monte Carlo there awesome and its just what a feller needs 😊
Good to know - will check it out!
Excellent video as always. It will be very effective in helping those individuals who are " skirred of ' lectricals" to put " digicals " in their ride!
Great video, I really like the cluster set up. I'll be checking that out. Good info, informative, don't know how you could've done better, Thank You!
i installed the the intellitronics panel in my '86 vette and i love it! all blue and at night it is awesome. the speedo was a challenge to calibrate. the cost... $400 was half the price of rebuilt OEM! i would recommend this over the original because of the extra features.
These would perfect in my square body as well. I just polished my guage lens yesterday and it's clear again. Turtle wax scratch and swirl remover.
Great job your inspiration has me wanting to add these to my 73 caprice.. Thanks
He is so nonchalant and obviously very smart. I really enjoy watching these videos you have a new sub.
Great video on new gauges don’t know if I can do it looked easy enough good video Derek thank you for it
Nice video have a 68 C10 looks like I’ll be upgrading dash in the spring saving this video again nice job bid fan
Really awesome, that dash looks great and it's much cleaner!
You're such a pro man! Awesome video!
I have added a custom gauge cluster to my car. I "shaved" a section of insulation on the wires needed to connect gauge wiring. After shaving small section off the insulation, one can connect the wire with never cutting the original "factOry" harness. My ride is an 84 Datsun S12 v8. Love your show. Hate those snap splice connectors.
Anything dashboard is daunting to me. You make it look so easy! Yeah! I'm a visual person myself. Give me pictures! But the cluster looks amazing now! Love the readouts!! Great job!
Pretty cool you went from this shop to the big one you have now
That mouse nest! 😆😆😆
Reminded me of my father, shit like that always happened to him. Was a family joke.
I could tell you were emotionally disturbed by it but you managed to maintain your composure 👍
Great video! I'm gonna check into these for my 78 F100. Liked the look of yours.
Not trying to be a a problem but I love to see you work by yourself I can learn more when you by yourself working thank you
Thanks for the awesome videos. I've been lost since roadkill left us alone and scared but you sir take the cake! So much better than anything Finnegan and fryburger ever put on the ol interwebs. Keep em coming guy.
It looks amazing. Rocky is probably my favorite car of yours.
Hes so entertaining and Smart! If my shop teacher was HALF this good, I wouldn't have chosen THE OTHER job. Derek Rocks! 50 and solidly back into Cars. That's what we DO!
Derrick is awesome. I like how he growns everytime he lifts somethin or bends his back. Just makes a guy grin. You can't see about 7:21 in this video he was fighting the dash for about 20 mins I bet. #great!
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, BUT THIS ONE. VERY NICE. WISH I KNEW ABOUT THESE BEFORE I WENT AND JUST BUILT A WHOLE GAUGE CLUSTER. KEEP UP THE GREAT CONTENT.
Looks great! Another job well done.
You really gotta appreciate what a guys using for his return jug for cooling. Factery🤘
Wreck Rider
A shadowy flight into world with a man with cold snack
Rocky the car with hidden mouse nests
I love the fact you saved on the wiring loom and the gauge colour reminds me of the old digital watches when they first came out , matched the car perfectly.
Looked like my 72 Monte, but I just rewired it,keep up the good work bud love your videos your a great car guy.
Glad ya rrmembered to tighten the column bolts back up . I didn't once , was interesting ride !
By far hands down the best intro on UA-cam Also thanks for not paying crap music.
Thank you sir
Another interesting video, seems simple enough and looks great installed....
Niice. I made my own vm digicals for my 79 f series. Integrated to stock location. But these are nice.
Yaaaa for Payette Brewing! :D
This guy funny and knows what he's doing keep it up man
Thanks Levie!
Welcome I would love to see more
Good meeting you at Norwalk OH, my son and I enjoyed talking to you.
And also I would like to say your my favorite new channel I found. Can’t wait tell next video
if that happens to be rust and no brown primer behind the dash on the firewall, wally world sells a product called Krud Kutter, i think it's vinegar based and neutralizes rust to create a s surface. sometimes i slather it on the slow the rust down on a fellar.
i've also started shoving dielectric grease in all of my electrical connections/plugs to keep them from corroding as i've so learned after cleaning all my grounds and reinstalling dry.
The ole laying on your back to reach under the dash trick, no fun for bigger fellas like myself but have had to do it a lot! Digicals instermentational devices will be nice!
i have the white universal set for my silverado i love em as well great choice for a fellar!
Really enjoy your channel keep up the great work.
I am customizing a 87 Pontiac Firebird top to bottom and I figure digital is perfect for the build. Thanks for the idea. I never customize anything so this is my first at almost 60.
Your channel has changed my life.
Thanks for the very detailed instructions on the install. I have the same problem viewing the instrument panel on my 69 Chevelle also..very annoying!! You have a great channel and very entertaining. Best of luck with your projects.
thanks Ed
I love that the burnout is the very most important part!!! My kinda guy!!!
You where pretty darn serious in this video thanks
"Ope another mouse der...oh well" hilarious!!...love the comedy value along with all this valuable info...you just kill me with this stuff!! I'll be dipped!!
I reached out to them this morning about a set for the Impala. Hopefully they make a kit for my car, they seem to be really nice and the LS support is cool.
Almost 400K, keep going! Subbed a few weeks back, watching your videos ever since. :-)
This is my new favorite channel.
I’m gonna do the ss swap on my 71 chevelle Malibu thanks for posting this vid
WISH I STILL HAD MY FIRST CAR...1968 CHEVELLE ...BOY I MISS HER!!!
