Nice synopsis. I liked how atmospheric the movie was. I interpreted the climactic trance scene a little differently. Earlier on, when they slept, the signal would show them visions of what they wanted rather than reality. Crow saw a dream of his wife driving home where the drunk driver didn't swerve in front of her. Brain saw a dream of his daughter alive and healthy rather than dying of cancer. Weaver, the medic, whatever he saw tempted him to desert the group and offer his head/consciousness to the entity sending out the signal. All the other mercs allude to having had some weird dream where the signal invaded their minds and showed them something they wanted, to attempt to lure them away. At the end of the film, Crow says, "We all got an offer - they chose to accept it." So I think the trance scene when they were unconscious at the end was not necessarily one from his own memories, but the signal showing him what he wanted -- his wife alive, and the drunk driver who killed her tied up in his house to torture. The signal was showing him the fantasy he had been chasing for years of being able to bring his wife back and also punish the man. When he forgives the man instead and lets go of his anger, he accepts that she is gone and lets go of the revenge fantasy, so he is no longer tempted by the entity. When he wakes up from the dream, he's able to resist the signal and call in the strike. The viewer doesn't see the faces of Crow's wife or the drunk driver in that scene, which makes me think they aren't supposed to be "real" as in his real memories, but rather illusions of what he wants most. Crow assumes Brain accepted the entity's offer. Brain presumably regained consciousness first, and decided he wanted to stay. I assume he realized he was doomed anyway as a traitor and had nothing to live for, so he chose to spend whatever time he had left to see his daughter again alive and healthy in the illusion offered by the entity. But he gave Crow the instructions to call in the strike. Another possibility is that he resisted the call of the signal, but couldn't bring himself to call in the strike, so he left instructions for Crow and ran, somehow sneaking past the other mercs and the hordes of cultists. However, I feel like we are supposed to infer that Brain succumbed to temptation like Weaver
Watched it last night. Id give it a B on a tier list. The thorns: -what felt like 15 minutes of walking in the dark. They could have been doing something in that time. Anything. Stealth? Having the MC actually navigate anomalies and guide them? Idk. It was just boring. -Not enough anomalies. -too much mil-sim for my stalker movie😂 The fuggin knife. Youll know it when you see it. The Roses: -The MC was sick af. Very fitting and great voice. -The few anomalies we did have were very neat. I know they werent the most *stunning* visuals. But im a sucker for analog type horror visuals. -The fights were really fun. -the zombie cultist were just so sick.
Well, there was a lot of walking around, so pretty faithful. It’s only really missing mutants, but as stated in my last vid, only so much can be done on a small budget.
@@mgedecim8tors I'm a little bit late, but I'm pretty sure the movie takes place in the modern day, at least sometime after 2019-2020. 2 of the Mercs make some comments about Afghanistan and how that lasted 20 years before the big fight started at the power plant, plus some of their gear wasn't made until some time after 2012, most notable I can think of right now is their G33 risers on some of their rifles.

@@Flanneryschickens that explains not seeing the faces in the memories, I agree that crow probably succumbed to the signal.
Get out of here stalker.
I said come in! Don't just stand there!

How faithful was it to STALKER in your opinion?
Well, there was a lot of walking around, so pretty faithful. It’s only really missing mutants, but as stated in my last vid, only so much can be done on a small budget.
Did you watch it in cinemas or elsewhere? If so, was it worth watching?
@@Smokescreen568 I watched it in cinemas. It was worth it.
Missed melee weapons, knife kill at beginning
Chronologically speaking when does the film take place in the STALKER timeline? Don't answer this if it's too much of a spoiler.
@@TheCatWithNoName2 I would say it happens right before “Call of Pripyat”.
Can anyone tell me if it isn't just special forces slop?
@@Fjdjfjsz92938 I’d say a solid 15 mins of the hour run time is special force slop. The rest of it is actual story and stalker stuff.
movie was meh
For a fan film, it was top tier.
Aren't the gears worn by the mercs a bit too modern for 2012?
It’s definitely more tactical than what they wear in the games, but then again, “modern” would be exosuits in the games.

@@wallace11 you bring up a good point. This further brings the film closer to the point of the upcoming Stalker 2.
Stalker 2 game is in 2023-24 right? I been playing it but the gear does seem modern. Forgot how many years it has been in the game.
@@davidjob4909 Pretty sure yeah
