11:00 I was wondering as to why the night-scenes looked so natural instead of the usual blue-filter slop.

Looking at the night footage, I was wondering what light condition they had, because it was a well lit scene, so I didn't have to guess what was going on, but it was also very easy to tell that it was night.

Yeah it's pretty harshly disliked by the Stalker community due to it not actually being a Stalker film, but just another hour-long tacticool larp. Didn't have anything from Stalker actually in it, and the dialogue was just copy-pasted nomenclature from the wikipedia page lol

Shadow of The Zone made my year.
100% bet everybody hating on the movie either had ridiculous pent up expectations or isn't a guy I'd wanna work with.
I'm old enough to have grown up with some OG S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fans, most my family was in service, I got the hyper fixation on art, guns, & medical tech.
This movie is a win. From someone who was around to see the franchise literally grow up I'm EXTREMELY proud of the team and looking forward to the future. I'm also very confused on why anyone is complaining while getting an early Christmas gift, spoiled or entitled I'm not sure.

I cant imagine anyone disliking the movie because it wasn't true enough to the source material.
It was obvious from the start that it was a lower budget production, and the story really did more than you could reasonably expect on a shoestring budget.
Im a big Stalker fan, and to see the locations and attention to detail was phenomenal. I loved the shot with the 100 Rads sign post fx'd in. Yeah you could tell it was FX but its still the Bar man!
We got to see and experience so much the Zone's themes and looks in a live action movie.
What more could you want? Of course we could wish for the world but this was an experience i won't forget soon. And the behind the scenes interviews is the cherry on top.
Thanks very much and I wish you all the success I hope this production brings you.

Coming from a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. veteran here, the overall picture kept me enthralled with how well done everything was, I caught some of the subtle nods to the zone. Crows performance is what made it great and hit me where it matters and its because of him I wanted more. I watched it again with my wife who knows nothing of the lore and she enjoyed it also. I think its because of the lead actor you guys have there.

Hell yeah! Some behind the scenes content. I loved the stories told in the theatre!
I've always had a passing interest in the games, and ended up getting GAMMA, but never really got into it all that much. This film's hype pushed me to get more into the IP and mess around in the game and talk to people in the community. I was a little sad to find that there were only a handful of people in the STALKER community that were interested in the film, but it brought people like myself into the IP itself. After Dollhouse and Overlord, I was hooked on seeing what other content Evan could make, live action or otherwise. I'm also still hoping there's a possible future for Heretic to return, as unlikely as that is.

You can really see the amount of work you put into this in the final product, the attention to detail was fantastic. I think in particular, the look of Crow was just spot on, I'd say it's accurate to how I imagine a real world Loner would look without straying too far from the look and feel of the games, if that makes sense. They'd have sort of kit bashed equipment, just using the best stuff they can find and sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not great. Gives him a sort of experienced, "getting by with what he can find" kind of aesthetic, which while this exact design isn't a perfect 1:1 recreation of the exact look from the games, it is a perfect adaptation of the spirit of what the Loners are as a faction and honestly I think that works better, feels tailor made to be this new character in an existing world. Perfezione.

I have no idea how I missed the release of this. That said, you all did a gorgeous job. A tiny snippet of the feeling and idea that the series tries to convey. In my view, you honored the series, even if there were small mistakes here n there.

if only the budget was bigger and the cast was larger the movie could show the mutants and much more but considering the size and budget? this was a SPOT ON film! it mirrors the lore perfectly and is similar in "dress" as S.T.A.L.K.E.R 1 game and lore in-between both 1 & 2 and the books.
The shots of the "radiated" camera? masterful. Props to the actors as they felt like the real deal.

I honestly liked the film a lot, it genuinely felt like a plausible thing that could happen or exist in the Stalker series, and I also liked the fact the equipment got updated to more modern standards because even in the Zone, there would need to be some form of equipment making it's way in with all the people constantly going in for their own reasons.
I do think it would've been cool to see a character or two (even if dead) wearing a recreation of the older style armor and gear from the games though, just a slight nod to what can be found in the actual games. I will say I think the lack of mutants kind of makes sense, at least in the last part of the film, since it was a location previously controlled, there most likely wouldn't have been many or any mutants close by due to being killed off, but having a few in other parts of the film could've spiced it up a bit.

I love stalker the original movie and I have to say even though this was very combat heavy and nothing like it as far as direction is concerned it managed to capture the eerie feeling of the zone very nicely. If I had to nitpick it would be some scenes where I could tell they were telling lines it did not feel completely natural but they were minimal so no biggie. Good job! Goes to show that you don't have to spend millions to make a great action film with special effects.

Watched Shadow of the Zone with my girlfriend, and the first initial shootout with the bandits she says "oh my god why is it so realistic?"
If that isn't a compliment on production quality, I don't know what is. I was just in awe of how you guys nailed the sound of a suppressed 5.56.
One thing, I do kind of wish the unsuppressed gunfire was louder. The M249 to me didn't quite roar hard enough, but that's my one little tiny little bitchy complaint. Really really top quality movie, and the fact I get to watch it on UA-cam for free blows my mind. I regret I didn't donate for this one, but I will be sure to for future projects!

I'm one of those who don't know about the game. only started to get into the realm after seeing a new game coming soon, haven't played the first. This film has me HOOKED. I love the film so much. All the hardwork that went into it really shows. I even watched it twice, something I don't do with most entertainment. I got my parents to join. They enjoyed it as well.
The portion of this video about the after effects that needed to be added is so interesting to me. currently thinking of how I can learn more about the process, software and whatever goes into it.
Much love to all involved in this film. I'm glad it happened and hope to see more from yall.
