A long time Stalker fan here, been a fan since the release of Call of Pripyat, basically. I finished Stalker 2 with 120 hours played on my Steam counter, and it was a beautiful, sometimes insufferable, buggy mess of a broken masterpiece! There is so much good things under this clutter of technical problems that I can't even begin to number them! If this game gets Cyberpunk 2077 level of post-release treatment, we'll have a true gem on our hands, and probably one of the best games of this decade.
Been saying the exact same thing. Compared to the release Clear Sky I'd say they did pretty well. Funny enough I haven't been fully immersed into a game this much since Cyberpunk. Seems like they have big plans for this game and I can't wait to see more.
Stalker 2 despite its many bugs and faults is the game that made me like open worlds again, the zone is so fun to just explore and fuck around that I lost time of how long I was in 1 area. Its a game that is just fun to play, no bullshit microtransactions no bullshit level requirements to use gear, no bullshit grinding, just a flawed but incrediblely fun game.
Bad performance, quest bugs, baffling design decisions, general jank. Now you truly got the same old school experience we got with Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky at launch. Except a little less broken than that :) (Call of Pripyat was actually pretty solid on release already though). I love this game.
Yeah, S2 is SoC level of bugginess at launch (very rough estimation). Clear Sky was so much worse, it was unplayable, if you managed to pass couple of the fist few locations, your save file become broken on 3rd or 4th for example, it had day 1 patch that people had to download from the site, or in some cases just wait for a friend, cause here internet was still expensive. And Clear Sky was actually really decent at launch, yeah, it's still the most polished game of original trilogy, despite I prefer the atmoshere of other two.
Both the nickname of the protagonist and ATGM actually refer to the Scythians, a nomadic people who lived on the territory of Ukraine before the Slavs emerged (the Slavs were mainly formed in Polissia, the Scythians lived closer to the Black Sea) Love the vid, but probably will watch the second half after finishing the game (just successfully defended Zalissia)
One of the things they should take notes from are the mods. Now, to say the community knows best is kinda naive, but there are some things they added that seem like a no brainer. A couple of things I wish they would add is mutant loot pool, that way there is some way to get back some of the coupons you're gonna spend on killing them, and it would make some mutants even a prize for hunters which need even more coupons. Another thing I wish they add was Nightvision, because the flashlight barely lights up 10 feet in front of you, hell, even add some tiers of flashlights so that you progress from shitty flashlight to god like Nightvision. The game is pretty good, it's my first STALKER game and I've been loving it so far, the story is good so far. Everything is a little too metaphorical at times or too dramatic but I honestly can't complain too much about the dialogue when the game is this good.
I think the Faust/Doctor swap thing in the 'don't shoot a kind regretful defenseless old man' ending is metaphorical. In a way it is also the Faust ending since he can see the noosphere and considers it sacred, so the Zone expanding freely means his divinity is freed and covers the entire world. It is also the only ending where 'you know more than I do, envoy of the Monolith' makes sense. Or maybe the Zone exchanged Faust for the Doctor in that big red super emission, or Faust took over the doctor, because his universal controller soldier abilities made him actually survive in the noosphere so he became Zone-Sauron. Anyway, I never wanted to step into that green gooey pod and do the Fallout 3 sacrifice, the game made me. I just wanted to go home and cry for killing Strelok & Scar..
or maybe doctor made some sort of deal with an interdimensional demon, would make sense since faust and stuff. i didnt play the game since its broken, ill wait a year or so. but the plot seems really good
I've experienced the enemies spawning out of nowhere too, I went to the army warehouse to get some stash, when suddenly some bandits pop up out of nowhere, and then sparks, and then some bloodsucker while im still fighting the sparks, and after that whole shenaningan, theres just a pile of body covering the army warehouse.

People got use to ubisoft or Bethesda sneak 100 stealth. Veteran difficulty, no compass, no threat indicators and no problem with stealth. Just get good. Actually, i wish NPC's would stay way longer in search & destroy state. After patches only Pseud-giants and chimeras are maybe a bit to tough but stll doable. I didn't die in that fight against PG in the lab but yeah, it was a challenge. After fight I realised there is electric anomaly which i think might be used to deal with faster. Currently I'm checking Scar's path so I will test it soon. So only the fight with Chimera in arena is really stupid. After 5 deaths I found a spot to cheese it, about 200 bullets to the head is required which is almost impossible to do without cheesing. But in general, I wasn't dying in combat, except at the beginning and very end in a crazy room with lots of Granite soldiers. Platforming in collaboration with gravity in other hand was my biggest enemy. Isuck at platforming, the only enemy I'm really afraid of.
Problem is with using experimental features that are not very stable + when you develop game in such a conditions that are tight deadlines + your home country that you grew up in is getting bombed, having to work remotely with half of your staff because they are still in Ukraine is not a good combination (Mostly because of the workflow pipeline & as Colorist i know how much shit happens when you have to work remotely with other artists.) + people need to understand that just because they are not in activate warzone atm it still affects their mental health which really doesn't help.
Yeah I think UE5 will be a powerhouse when it gets more refined, people forget it's still in it's early stages with only a few big games using it rn. Give it like 5 years and it'll be great. Most of the bad optimization seems like it's on the devs side, which i 100% understand given the circumstances and it doesn't stop the rest of the game from being great

I think most people realize this and realize that this was a bad gameplay mechanic, so they didn’t want to run away when you see a monster. 😂 why make an enemy where you can’t even do anything to it other then run. So much fun 🤣
I just couldn’t bring myself to finish this game. After 50 hours or so the monotony was too painful to endure anymore.
Have you tried the originals quite a bit shorter if length was your issue
such is life in the zone,
wake up
step outside into anomaly and get ripped to shreds
invisible mutant shows up to help kill you
repeat
i wouldn't use the word gyp
okay i was fine until you put the clip of badlands that shit is genuinely disgusting and you should put a warning before showing it
My main problem is skif bleeds all the time and I swear to god he is made of tinfoil or smh also ward ending is best ending is best ending
Lol no it's the worst ending.
@@bomberdomme7308 wdym if you were skif why would the ward ending be the bad ending. you came for your house right? no other faction give you a house.
if you become the zone you fuck the whole wide world
if you have sterlock become the zone you fuck everyone in the zone.
if you do the shining zone you again fuck everyone in the zone.
the only ending that makes sense is the ward ending. 1 I have respect for the exo solider guy. he is respectable. cares about his men. and stalkers are pos anyway.
2 this is legit the only ending where skif is getting what he came to the zone for. his new house.
What do you mean "radiation is unchanged"??? IT NEVER STRAIGHTAWAY KILLED YOU IN ORIGINAL GAMES! This piece of crap game made fucking KILLZONES with radiation in places where you are not supposed to go "yet", and it kills you IMMEDIATELY. It's one of my major problems with the game.
I f*ckn love this game so much I had over 6 days logged and suddenly out of nowere I get the aim down sights stutter bug and there's no fix for this iv been coping and enjoying untill this so deleted all saves un-installed I am now furious this game is a wreck and is going to be a wreck for atleast another 8 months hopefull expectation before I return to this bs they really should have held off releasing this
talk to em
Thank god you put in the 12k ultra hd chicken wing highlight i was also freaking out 😂
A-life is unfinished / bugged because the one dev who actually made it decided to fight for his country instead of fleeing and got merked.
I play stalker on my Xbox One game cloud it looks like s***I have to put my brightness all the way up just so I can see stuff

I think gamers should stop spreading misinformation about UE5 because they don't understand a shit in this field.
Problem is with using experimental features that are not very stable + when you develop game in such a conditions that are tight deadlines + your home country that you grew up in is getting bombed, having to work remotely with half of your staff because they are still in Ukraine is not a good combination (Mostly because of the workflow pipeline & as Colorist i know how much shit happens when you have to work remotely with other artists.)
+ people need to understand that just because they are not in activate warzone atm it still affects their mental health which really doesn't help.
Yeah I think UE5 will be a powerhouse when it gets more refined, people forget it's still in it's early stages with only a few big games using it rn. Give it like 5 years and it'll be great. Most of the bad optimization seems like it's on the devs side, which i 100% understand given the circumstances and it doesn't stop the rest of the game from being great
@@cozytheslav whole lotta excuses bro nobody cares.
Yea i still blame developers since UE5 is a tool* notably the infamous film grain of UE5 and Ray Tracing. Edit: typo
