I saw the Eagles last month, in Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh, Scotland. I'm 62 years old (How did that happen?) and have been playing their music, since I was a young guitar player in the 1970's. 1998 was the year they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This song was released in 1976. The Eagles were among the elite and most successful bands of the 1970s. Led Zeppelin was probably the only bigger band than the Eagles in the 1970s. They have a huge catalog of reaction-worthy songs many of which have never or rarely been reacted to by other channels. If you want some examples of great Eagles songs with few or no reaction videos, try: Those Shoes / Victim Of Love / Seven Bridges Road / The Greeks Don't Want No Freaks / I Don't Want to Hear Any More / Wasted Time / The Sad Cafe
The Eagles were admitted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. The song you are reacting to was released in 1976. I've got the album that I bought in 76. This was one of the baddest bands ever. Welcome to Rock in it's purest form. I'm 73 and I would smoke some great weed and crank this baby up LOUD!!

The Eagles are my #2 favorite bands! Their catalog is absolutely insane! Joe Walsh is one of the most prolific guitarist in Rock history! Joe Walsh is very different! He was for sure the wildest of the group! Great reaction!
Darlin', his name is Joe Walsh, and he's really great. He's got some solo stuff you should check out. Dude, you should check their live 77 performance of this song. Don Felder, the guy playing the double guitar, actually came up with the initial guitar riff to this song. They're a great band, with a lot of singles under their belts. Loved your reaction, even though it was a year ago. ;)
I saw them live in 1977 during the Hotel California tour. They rocked then and continue to rock today. This video was at the R&R hall,of fame induction. It included 7 band members that were with them at one time or another. I have seen them live 11 times. They never disappoint.
They have sold over 200 million records worldwide. Over 100 million in the US alone. I first heard them in the very early 70's and got to see them in 1974 and even now without the late great Glenn Frey, they are worth the price of admission.
Hotel California; What can you say? A timeless classic. Another Eagles song I would recommend that, in my opinion, is a flawless composition, is 'I Can't Tell You Why'. Awesome song, whole different vibe. Enjoy!
Ya...you gotta go down this rabbit hole sweetie! I can tell ya that there's probably not anything that they do that you won't like. The Eagles are my favorite all time band. Joe Walsh is the guy in the brick suit...he's amazing! Don Henley is the singer/drum player, Glen Frey played the acoustic guitar, Timothy B Schmidt *not sure on the spelling* is on Bass guitar...the guy on the double-neck guitar...he's the only one that I don't know!
You forgot original bassist Randy Meisner, stage left from Tim. And in the back, also on an accoustic guitar, was original member Bernie Leadon. The guy on the double neck guitar is Don Felder. This performance includes everyone that had been an Eagle up to that point.
Glad you enjoyed that. Actually The Eagles owned the the 1971 - 1979 time period. Their 1975 Greatest Hits album IS the best selling album of the 20th century!!!
Welcome to your discovery of the Eagles. They are so diverse and talented. Individually, they have had successful solo careers, too, but when they sometimes come back together for performances like this, it's simply perfect. I saw them live at the Arrowhead stadium in KC MO in 1976 or 1977, with Linda Ronstadt and Dan Fogelberg also performing. Then at the end of the show, ALL of them were on-stage together. It was breath-taking. Enjoy the discovery. One last tip: Look into the performances of Stevie Ray Vaughan sometime. That man could play a guitar and SING!
Multineck guitars are made so that a guitarist can change sounds without changing instruments!!! Yes the Eagles are a group!!!! Seven Bridges Road (partially a capella) and Doolin' Daltons (about the Dalton Gang) The Eagles are one of the few bands out there that have a lead vocal that's also the drummer. Genesis is another such band with Phil Collins on vocals AND drums.
GREAT reaction video to a tremendous, classic song! The Eagles were a power group of the 1970s into the '80s. They, along with Jackson Browne among others defined the Southern California sound. Classic song, and a classic reaction!
In 1977, when I was in high school, The Eagles performed at a venue in my town. I worked as a ticket taker and usher at that venue. However, before the concert, I got a call from my cousin, who worked for a car rental agency at the airport, and at the same venue as me. She called me screaming into the phone for me to get my @$$ to the airport, because the limo driver for The Eagles had gotten sick, and since she was going to the concert venue anyway, she was going to be driving them to the concert!!! Needless to say, I got there as fast a possible and we drove them to the concert. What an experience. I was 16 years old. I saw things no 16 year old should see. What memories.
Substitute the state of California for Hotel California and you will understand what this song is all about. Too many people move to California thinking it is the land of milk and honey where dreams can come true.. When they arrive there, they are in for a rude awakening with often no funds to get back home BTW 1969 was what was called the "Summer of love" in CA. That is why they no longer have that spirit
Saw them LIVE in Alabama, in 1977!! Thought I'd lose my mind. INCREDIBLE concert. Memories of a crazy night, 21,000 lighter with 6" flames in the colisiem!!!!!!
Double neck guitar, Led Zep used it too. A lot of great songs came out of the 60's & 70's that would take you on the roller coaster ride touching all the senses.
One neck has an acoustic sound, one a classic electric. The Eagles are one of the best bands ever. At least 3 members went on to very successful solo careers when the band split. So many amazing songs for you to discover!
This is the Eagles #1 group in the 70's, broke up in 81 and said they wouldn't get back together unless he'll freezes over! When they got back together in 1994 they had the hell freezes over tour. They toured until just a few years ago. Lost one of their 2 main singers he died, but hope they tour again soon!!! My favorite band ever!

Every time I hear this it brings me back to college. The school rented out the local amusement park. We were smashed into one seat on the music express. This song was playing. The kid running the ride played it for half an hour we were having so much fun singing at the top of our lungs. Such fun. So young.
Loved your reaction!! Eagles!!! 1970s to today! Unparalleled!! Hope you dive into their music head first. You will NOT be disappointed. Loved every song they ever recorded. "Life in The Fast Lane" and "Take it Easy" are two of my favorites. Thanks for the joy!!
My mom loved the Eagles. This song is about drugs, not a girl, and addiction, not a hotel.
I actually played this album so much I wore it out and had to buy a new one.
To only echo what might have been said earlier, this performance was from the 1998 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. This performance features all the band members past and present of The Eagles:
Don Henley, Drums, Lead Vocals
Glenn Frey (RIP), Guitar, Backing Vocals
Joe Walsh, Co-Lead Guitar
Don Felder, Co-Lead Guitar
Timothy B. Schmidt, Bass Guitar
Randy Meisner, Bass Guitar (Former member)
Bernie Leadon, Acoustic Guitar (Former member)
You just saw the best of history!
"He wicked Bro!" That phrase says more in it's 3 words than a music journalist could say in 2 pages. Well done Sir.
Hotel California; What can you say? A timeless classic. Another Eagles song I would recommend that, in my opinion, is a flawless composition, is 'I Can't Tell You Why'. Awesome song, whole different vibe. Enjoy!
'I Can't Tell You Why' is one of my favorites.
I agree completely...beautiful song
This was 1998 but they were rockin' back in the 70's! ANYTHING by the Eagles is great! BTW, Brick Suit is wild man, Joe Walsh!!! He's a legend.
@@TheCkent100 Thank you! I feel kind of stupid that I didn't know them all, since I've listened to them since I was a little kid! LOL
Saw them Live In Hyde Park (London) Last Sunday.... After 50 Years, they Still Got it !
This is decades past their prime and they still sound amazing. If you like their harmonizing, you have to check out Seven Bridges Road.
This song is classic 70's....and "hotel California" is about all the people coming to California in the 70's to try to get famous....but never left!!! California IS the hotel!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🎵🎼🎶🎤🎸🎹🎙🥁🔥🔥🔥🔥 Definitely take a trip down this rabbit hole!!! You'll love it!! "Brick suit" guy is the great Joe Walsh!!!! He's also the class clown of the band!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I thought the main difference in a double neck was the number of strings on each neck. correct me if I'm wrong I'm a sax player.
@@Andrew46_2 very true....its like two separate guitars without actually changing instruments. Brilliant idea whoever thought of it!!🎶🎼🎵🤘🤘🤘 Awesome that you play the sax too!!!🎷🎷🎷
The Eagles are Rock N Roll Royalty! How can anyone not have even heard of them?
Wasted Time is possibly one on my favorite Eagles tracks. Shows off Don Henley's vocals beautifully. You should check it out.
2 more favorites are...
Seven Bridges Road (partially a capella) and
Doolin' Daltons (about the Dalton Gang)
The Eagles are one of the few bands out there that have a lead vocal that's also the drummer.
Lyin' Eyes Live 1977
When they arrive there, they are in for a rude awakening with often no funds to get back home
BTW 1969 was what was called the "Summer of love" in CA.
One neck has 12 strings; the other 6.
You should listen to the 1977 live version. Catch these guys when they were young. ✌🏼😎
The 12 string guitar is the top head, and later he uses the lower head 6 string for other parts of the song.
Love The Eagles! You should check out Seven Bridges Road for more great harmonies!
Joe Walsh in the brick suit is a wild man!
If you like multiple guitars at the same time, check out the live version of "The Band - The Weight".
I agree. It is awesome when the younger folks discover real music and real talent.
Everything they do is great. I love all of their songs. You should listen to "Take it to the limit".
HC is so great that even my piano cover sounds good!!! 😉
Congrats for choosing it!!! 👏👏👏👏
check out the 1977 live version
I got this album for Christmas in 1976. I was 10 years old. I have loved it since that day, just unbelievable
This is one of the best songs ever and recognized EVERYWHERE! I’m happy to see younger generations experience this music!
RAP ppl don't play any instruments this is REAL music and REAL band, They actually played the instruments. Glad you enjoyed this
The Eagles are the definition of rock, For real just pure classic rock!
This is pure magic! Thank you Eagles!
They are THE EAGLES! living under a rock I see
Oh, the era of serious music. Great singers, great musicians, no autotune.
Can't stop listening to those guitars🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰that is powerful. I can watch and listen to those guitars all day long. Amazing performance truly amazing ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
This song definitely belongs in the Rock and Roll hall of fame.
it was a group and indeed that many super talented musicians!! THE EAGLES baby!!!
If ya get a chance do "Take it to the Limit" by the Eagles...you are fun to watch! Thanks
"Hotel California" had its Album Debut in 1976!!! It was 1998 when they were inducted into the "Hall of Fame!!!
I love watching the younger generation appreciate what the older generation brought to the game. I loved the 90's, I was in my 30's great times!
If this is your first time hearing the Eagles, all I can tell you is they are matched in harmony by a very rare few and are one of few groups that can send chills with either a slow ballad or an up tempo banger
And that's why they are in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The Eagles are my all-time favorite band, I wore out two copies of the Hotel California album when it came out. It was one of those summers that you remember from when you were a kid.
Cracks me up when I see youngsters discover music of my generation. We had it all, 50s-80s. Wonderful stuff. This is one of my all time favorites.
Saw them in ‘74. My first concert, and still,y favorite concert. Magic!
Plenty of room at the Hotel California. You can check out any time of day….but you can NEVER LEAVE💀💀. I’m 55 and REALLY enjoyed watching the Eagles blow your mind!
Hotel California 👍👍👍1976
Guys so young just do not listen to "old music"... but you did ... and is really amazing to see how deep you got into it and how excited and impressed you were! Aren't you supposed to pause and comment if need be?... and let the song continue? But noooo..... you couldn't resist replaying! ... couldn't wait to replay the "solo" too! Love your reaction... truly a timeless song ... a master piece ... has no boundaries.
I really enjoyed watching you discover The Eagles and all the other groups you are reviewing. Your appreciation of all the small details is refreshing. Keep doing what you are doing!
The Eagles. It’s a band. This is their epic song!
One of the deepest talent stacks in the music industry.
