Anyone that unsubscribes due to classic rock , doesn't deserve to be on your channel. Yes, its about the music but it's your enthusiasm and non bias honesty for each song. 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Bio Hazard, Punishment
What the haters fail to realize is that almost none of the thrash metal musicians they love were influenced by thrash metal growing up. Chronologically it just wasn't possible - the genre didn't exist yet. A ton of them were actually influenced by classical music, and I can guarantee you none of the haters are listening to that! But their music idols are... 😜
When the Eagles broke up & many pursued solo careers one of them was asked when they'd get back together and tour & he replied "when hell freezes over" - a decade later, despite many of them hating each other, they announced the "Hell freezes over" tour. I was an event emergency medical technician working big fairs & shows - and was standing just off stage for the first show - it was pretty incredible.
I went to the beginning of the Hell Freezes Over tour in Denver, Colorado and also when it ended the following year in Denver Colorado..........absolutely the greatest concert I've ever been too........not only watching the Eagles but watching Joe Walsh do his music and Don Henley doing his music and Glen Frey......we definitely had the greatest music!
Yes, Hotel California is really about being in Mental Institution hospital or rehab. As they say in the song "you can check in ( into the Mental Hospital or rehab) anytime you like, but you can never leave" .
Apparently not. I always thought that, but it is supposedly a play on the greed and self entitlement of wealthy America. Something they didn’t know about until they were part of it. They could never leave.
Your reaction alone is worth the watch ... the delight, awe, enjoyment ... it's a joy to watch a new generation discover the music that is a part of our memories. We were privileged to have all these multitalented musicians play the music of our life.
One of the greatest tracks in the history or rock 'n roll, and a stellar live performance to boot. This one is immortal. The Eagles are a phenomenal band, with decades of hits behind them, but this song will always be my favorite.
Seven Bridges Road is short, simple and absolutely beautiful, live is actually better for the vocal quality of these astoundingly talented bunch of guys
A little history for ya Son. The Eagles NEVER made or released a bad song. Period! Great job my Man. PS. Hey Bro the double guitar is almost always a 12 string neck on the top and a 6 string neck on the bottom. That way, you have a 12 string and a 6 string in 1 guitar! And, a 12 string sounds absolutely beautiful. (Not saying a 6 string doesn't, btw)
Almost always...Greg Lake from ELP had a double-neck 6-string with a 4-string bass. He was a guitarist to start off, but played bass and guitar for King Crimson and ELP.
Another interesting note that most people don't realize when they see/ hear a guitar harmony is that it's not two guitars playing the same part together. It's one guitar playing the melody and the other playing the harmonies of that solo, usually on the third or fifth notes. Much more complicated than people think. ( I know that has nothing to do with what you were talking about but I saw you guitar nerding and I wanted to nerd out too!"
Pure unadulterated talent. No computers or auto tune !! These people were exceptional artists in every respect. Fake singers like Taylor Swift can’t hold a candle to this type of talent. She couldn’t sing without Autotune. This was pure musicianship thank God I saw them live 4 or 5 times as a young teenager and college student. They came out one time and sat on stools for almost three hours and just played and sang.
FYI, Karen Carpenter played drums and sang lead with one of the most beautiful female voices of the era albeit her drum playing did not require the energy or complexity of most rock music. Just a thought. Thank you for your reaction. Your honest facial expressions say it all.
Aussie here, in my 70's, and I think my generation is blessed to have experienced the entire evolution of modern music, from the early rockers heavily influenced by the Blues (the British bands including the Stones used to hang around the wharfs to get their hands on black music recordings from the US South) through all its iterations in analogue through to today's digital masterpieces. None of your music of choice happened in a vacuum - all of it inspired by those who came before. I feel very privileged that I was here for it all, and very happy that you're discovering it. Enjoy the journey! 🎸🎸🥁🎤
Eagles are absolutely one of the most iconic bands of the 70s. They were and still considered one of the greatest bands of all time.Being a teen through the entire 70s was amazing with this music.
In these days of music mediocrity, it is painful to think that today's youth will not ever have the experience of turning on the radio and hearing gems like this playing. It was the 'normal', everyday sound of our lives that we had come to expect back then.
Most of the band wrote and sang their own songs. Take It To The Limit from the same gig is excellent. One of the greatest live performances in the history of concerts.
YES!! YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO THAT FROM THIS SAME CONCERT!! Randy Meisner sings it, the bass player, beautiful voice, sigh, person, didn’t like the limelight, and if you notice, he keeps his ass shit most of the time he is singing it, but you will get such a kick out of the notes he hits at the end it’s unbelievable! My very favorite Eagles song of all and they are my favorite band and I have 2 tons of hits. I very much like to see you react to it. Randy, Randy Meisner, saying take it to the limit by the Eagles and I think this was 77, you’ll see the clothes and outfits are the same. Thanks And liked your review
Oops, sorry about some of the words that even sounded a little bit ornery , ha ha. I’m sure most people use the voice thing when they are going to talk about something and auto correct changes it into it they don’t mean. But I think you got it and I promise you you will love that song by the Eagles sung by Randy. He passed away a few months ago, sadly, such a loss, RIP, dear Mr. Meisner. Even if you don’t react to you, would you please mind putting a little note on here that you listened to it and what you thought of the song and Randy? I just totally love that song for some reason it gives me peace of mind.
Most people who have never heard this song are amazed at the guitar outro, but you were all about Don Henley singing and playing the drums. That made me click 'subscribe'. :)
Perhaps the band with the most musicianship ever. They all could sing, and obviously play at a high level of execution. Don Henley, the drummer, was such a great singer that he went on a solo career as a singer. Let that sink in.

Definitely one of them.... along with Chicago Live 1977 but on youtube in low-def. Still one of the greatest with their original group singing... 25 or 6 to 4 with Terry Kath still alive with them.... he was a guitar great with a untimely early accidental death and the brass section intact. Live too and Led Zeppelin Live with Stairway to Heaven at Madison Square Garden 1973 I believe one is best and some better quality same concert. One by Elvin Bishop's group where Mickey Thomas actually sang lead with Reni Slais.... THEY KILL IT together with Evin on guitar. The New * Fooled Around and Fell in Love "Live" 4K version. It was from 1976 and this one is Ai remastered.... vs others. Some even say it was 77 or 75. The version with Reni with Mickey and PERFECT LIVE.
Today is 5 years since my father passed away - July 16th. His favorite song was Lyin' Eyes by the Eagles. I have the '45 single he bought way way back when I was a kid. Great band!

This song, the instruments and music is great, but it's one of the best story telling songs. It's the lyrics, a story that engages and captivates the listener. It's like watching a great movie, through music.

I love it when you play the songs from the 70's. They don't make music like that anymore. Real vocals and instruments. Some of the best music ever. Keep it up, it is a deep well that will continue to surprise you.
Don Felder, the gent playing the 12 over 6 guitar is a premium guitar player. He is also the member that wrote this song. He has many amazing contributions to the Eagles catalog and is a founding member of the group. And? Joe Walsh is the second lead and he is also an amazing guitarist. The two together? Dynamite. 🎉
Don Felder is an excellent guitar player, and he wrote the music to Hotel California. However, the words were written by Don Henley and Glenn Frey, so Felder is *one of* the writers of Hotel California. And Felder was not a founding member of the group... he was added for the 3rd album.
@@BobKovacs true that. But the song would not exist if Felder had not developed the crazy guitar parts. Thank you for your comments and hope you are living your best life.
“You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.” Those lyrics are so deep. Be careful what you wish for…fame and fortune isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be. Absolute masterpiece of a song.

Levon Helm, Ringo Starr, Sheila E, Dave Grohl and more....
Took my wife to see Mark Lindsey who opened for The Carpenters at a 1971 concert. We almost left after his performance, but I've been eternally thankful we didn't. Karen was amazing, but there are really no words--and yes, she played the drums. :)
Not many bands in history were blessed with 2 lead guitarists of that caliber.
legit one of the best songs ever
Thanks for that. I'm 63 years old and never get tired of seeing young people reacting to the music of my generation. Some of the best music came out of the 70's and The Eagles will forever be iconic
Boys of summer don henley . Arguably, the most perfectly crafted song ever written
Such a great song, always transports me back to childhood summer memories.
The cover version by The Ataris is one of my favourite covers of all time as well.
@@shmick6079Came to say exactly this
I love this song soooooo much 🥹
I haaaaate the cover. My age is showing.
@@zippymacadoo6336 no way! It’s amazing!
When you figure out he is singing about drug addiction, it just becomes even more epic.
Real talent.
Real musicians
Real music.
😁😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦
One of the greatest tracks in the history or rock 'n roll, and a stellar live performance to boot. This one is immortal.
The Eagles are a phenomenal band, with decades of hits behind them, but this song will always be my favorite.
Seven Bridges Road is short, simple and absolutely beautiful, live is actually better for the vocal quality of these astoundingly talented bunch of guys
My son admits that my generation had the best music.
The only thing that bothers me about this: the "Greatest Generation" had big bands, swing and jazz. *That* music was epic, too!
❤❤❤ THE ONE...THE ONLY BAND...true artistry...no one like them... never will be... EVER!!!
@@michaeldransfield8775 Maybe that's why I said, "almost?"
❤❤❤ AWESOME!!❤❤❤ WELCOME to REAL MUSIC sweetheart.
Exactly! Not the junk today ❤
When they played live their thing was to sound like their albums. It was what they wanted. This happens with true talent.
Saw them a few years ago, still perfection❤
One of THE most iconic songs by an American band.....ever.
In these days of music mediocrity, it is painful to think that today's youth will not ever have the experience of turning on the radio and hearing gems like this playing. It was the 'normal', everyday sound of our lives that we had come to expect back then.
Not just this song, the entire album!
I am 65... How I miss the 70s!!! ❤
70s music was very different after 1975. BEST music was between 1965 and 1975... Rock Glory years!
If only we had known then what was coming musically maybe we could have stopped it lol
You are now an “Honorary Baby Boomer” !!!!
Welcome to our generations musical world !!!
We are soooo musically spoiled !!!
That dual solo at the end is one of the highlights of Rock history imho :-)
70's were a great time to be alive !
You don't get much better than bands like the Eagles, Floyd, and Zeppelin. I am so glad I was born in 62; I have seen so many great bands.
Most people who have never heard this song are amazed at the guitar outro, but you were all about Don Henley singing and playing the drums. That made me click 'subscribe'. :)
Don Felder is a very underrated guitarist
Exactly. Glen Frey was a bully in that band causing great talent to leave
Perhaps the band with the most musicianship ever. They all could sing, and obviously play at a high level of execution. Don Henley, the drummer, was such a great singer that he went on a solo career as a singer. Let that sink in.
Toto has entered the chat. All virtuoso musicians; session players who (when they weren't recording the best selling album of all time - Thriller) recorded some of the best music of all time.
Studio version sounds the same. They're enormously talented.
This song is what we referred to as EPIC back in the day. The music comes in waves and you don't want it to end.
the harmonies..... in the vocals and the guitars.... heaven♥♥♥
Another great Eagles song with a different vocalist is “I can’t tell you why”
“ In the Air Tonight “ live, Phil Collins is a amazing example of the singer playing drums
Joe Walsh is an amazing guitarist with some great solo albums.....check out his "Confessor" album.....guitar like a hot knife through butter 🎸
ONE OF THE MOST ESOTERIC AND MYSTERIOUS SONGS EVER RECORDED! SIMPLY PUT...LEGENDARY! ^..^
Emerson Lake and Palmer is another sweet addiction! From the Beginning, one of the most beautiful songs ever.
In the 80’s and into the 90’s everyone owned the Eagles greatest hits. It was required :)
Every member can sing, they use that to their advantage. One of the best group of musicians there has ever been. Simply amazing.
Don Felder, the guy playing the double-neck guitar in this video, did not sing lead for the Eagles. All the others on stage for this video sang lead in various songs. And were really good at it.
The thing about the Eagles is they could all sing the lead. Different songs were sung by different bad members.
So cool...seeing a young dude getting it just like we did back in the day...proof that music is timeless!!!
They sound BETTER live than in ANY album they have ❤
In my opinion this is one of the best live concert performances ever produced ☮️💙👵🏼
🤦♂️🤡🥴
@@davidw7 I saw Chicago in 1972 in Portland Oregon
thanks
It's definitely one of the greatest songs of all time
Today is 5 years since my father passed away - July 16th. His favorite song was Lyin' Eyes by the Eagles. I have the '45 single he bought way way back when I was a kid. Great band!
I'm sorry about your dad. You have my condolences. Yes, Lyin' Eyes is a great song, your dad had good taste.
@@gregvergara7596 Thanks for the kind words! It's appreciated. I remember he would play that record single over and over...🙂👍
You never expect to hear such true feelings and Memorys of one performend Song on Stage live like this . Their never ever was a better , intense duett Guittar solo ever and never again like this one . Legends never die and never been forgotten .
Marvelous. I’m 75 and so appreciate your bringing this music into our century.
Hope they didn’t auto-tune the old music.
One of the best outro's ever written.
Love Gary Moore’s Still Got The Blues For You too.
I was at that concert in '77. Late HB and I got tickets as a wedding gift. The most awesome concert outside of Woodstock I have been to. FYI everyone on that stage by themselves is a lead singer. You'll understand if you dive into their catalog. Keep going, you're exploring some of the best music ever!
I saw the Eagles twice, but it was prior to the Hotel California album. Good concerts, though. This video for Hotel California is off-the-charts great for 1977, both sound and visuals. I can believe it was a really good show.
BTW, Don Felder, the guy playing the double-neck guitar in this video, did not sing lead for the Eagles. All the others on stage for this video sang lead in various songs. And were really good at it.
@@BobKovacs You're technically right. I was not clear with what I said and how I said it, do-over?
What I should have said is: Everyone on the stage has the unique capability to be a lead singer. They're that good 😊
@@hilarytoffler5636 Actually, it turns out that Don Felder *did* sing a song for the Eagles, although he's singing with a group of others and only Felder's mother could pick out which was his voice. The song is called "Visions," and it's not a bad song... but the vocals are down in the mix and it is always multiple voices -- can't really recognize any of them.
@@BobKovacs I also had the privilege of seeing Frank Zappa and the Mothers at D.A.R. Constitution Hall. WOW. He introduced Jon Luc Ponti (sp?). That was the first time I saw an electric violin played with a band like that.... Freaking awesome!
I will be 58 this year. This song has been my ABSOLUTE ALL TIME FAVORITE since the late 70's /early 80's. Used to tell people that if you put me in a room with nothing but this song playing 24/7, I would never get tired of it.
This song, the instruments and music is great, but it's one of the best story telling songs. It's the lyrics, a story that engages and captivates the listener. It's like watching a great movie, through music.
Definitely, the Eagles are at the top of the Goat conversation. When you think of the amount of hit songs released. The quality, range, and innovation!
From as long as I can remember The Eagles have been in my life. My parents loved their music and I love them too. You won't find a bad song from these guys, guarunteed.
Apparently I can't spell guaranteed?
Drumming and singing: Karen Carpenter. Loved your reaction to this and the fact you let the guitars play.
I love it when you play the songs from the 70's. They don't make music like that anymore. Real vocals and instruments. Some of the best music ever. Keep it up, it is a deep well that will continue to surprise you.
Also, every guy on that stage has a hit song. Let that sink in.
Two great guitarists in a competition. What a concept.
The Eagles are legends. Every member is a lead singer, every member an accomplished musician. The guy on the right is Ringo Star’s brother in law. ❤😊
The dual guitars at the end make it worth the wait.🤩🤩
Phil Collins and Levon from The Band both sang lead while playing drums! Epic!
Also Karen Carpenter and Dave Clark of the Dave Clark Five.
Having grown up with this music, it's mind boggling to think people haven't heard this amazing song. I'm freaking old.
I was born in 1965, but I was the youngest of 7 kids, so this was the music I grew up listening to. Also my dad was a jukebox repair man and sometimes he would being his "work" home with him, so it wasn't unusual to have a jukebox in our living room. To say the least all of our friends, wanted to hang out at our house, 😂
The Eagles are probably the USA's biggest rock band. Glad you are discovering them. They have written some of rock's greatest ever ballads.
Congratulations!! It's been 3 months and this video reaction is still alive!!!🥳🥳🥳🎵🎼🎶
Each member of the Eagles lead sings regardless of instrument. Twin lead guitars is what makes this song legendary. Plus the song’s eerie portrayal of the excesses of life represented in the California lifestyle of the 70s….
Don Felder, the guy playing the double-neck guitar in this video, did not sing lead for the Eagles. All the others on stage for this video sang lead in various songs. And were really good at it.
@@BobKovacs Visions from the fourth album.
This song is an icon. Best song ever
Massive amount of talent in that band. So many good tunes
The Eagles were my favorite band for many years; so many great songs. Saw them in concert in 1979, packed venue, air was thick with weed, a very memorable concert.
Their goal was to create a verbal structure that is art. what's the word I'm searching for, abstract I just remembered.
I’m from Southern California…. Linda Ronstadt, a legend herself founded the EAGLES. Many classic songs, One of their songs : lying eyes, is a story teller and it’s a favorite 👍🎶🎶
