Let’s be honest…Britain knocks it out of the park when it comes to iconic rock bands…no other Country comes close…
Yes indeed
We definitely punch above our weight. And not even a mention of Deep Purple,The Who,Nazereth,Bad Company,Iron Maiden,Judas Priest,Big Country and all the amazing prog bands the UK has produced.
Yugoslavia came close or even beat it in many areas. The two only true rock industries in the world tough, at least in the 70's and 80's. Sadly 99% of the people have never heard of any of the thousands of songs that are on the level of the best stuff made by the most famous English-speaking bands.
I'd definitely argue that Japan comes close. So many amazing Japanese rock bands, of course the USA too
@@greenmachine5600 Personally I can't think of one single Japanese band/ singer that's made an impact on world music!
this video needs a part 2. Where’s Pink Floyd, The Who, The Clash, The Police, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard and of course The Beatles
And progressive rock band like king crimson , elp , yes
@@liys540 THANK YOU
Chuck in "Supertramp"
David Bowie, Deep Purple, you could go on forever
Hmmm, ever heard of the Rolling Stones??? Cream? The Animals? et. ...
Kid in the black t-shirt and gold necklace has a decent vocal to be fair.
And he's knows his stuff
Jaxon is raised properly. I'm proud of this kid
Part 2: More British Rock - The Who, Pink Floyd, The Clash, The Cure, Dire Straits, The Animals, Joy Division, Iron Maiden
If you're doing Maiden you've got to include Judas Priest and Saxon as well!
@@halorecon95 Thanks for remember. There are many bands. Impossible to remember them all 🤭😁
Deep Purple, Nazareth, UFO and Diamond Head since Metallica has covered them.
they should definitely make a second part, they left out a lot of iconic bands...
The lack of The Who, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple and Judas Priest is quite alarming...... 😪
The Beatles too
@@FaziABDULLAH screw the Beatles most overrated band ever 😅
absolutely...the unholy trinity deserves to be there
Watching young people singing Queen with joy and passion warms this old british mans heart!
Dude in the black t-shirt was raised RIGHT!
Jaxon the real MVP when it comes to "older" music. Always giving me hope for Gen Z. 😂🙌
I would think for next some 80's bands like Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears, U2, The Clash, The Cure
NEW ORDER!!
@@sergiohenriquesper8330 Yep also The Smiths as well
Except U2 aren't British.
@@christianboehlefeld5168 2 of the band memebers are british that being Guitarist and Bassist but then moved to Ireland
Hell yeah! I'm down for that
Need a Round 2:-
David Bowie
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
Deep Purple
The Who
The Clash
The Smiths
Blur
1000% Def Leppard,The Police,Coldplay,Muse,Dire Straits,Genesis,ELO, Judas Priest,Iron Maiden,Whitesnake,and more,more,more!!!
That list could be almost endless...
Jaxons parents did a great job
Can people stop whining about bands that weren’t in the video? The list of iconic British bands is endless
lol but the biggest band ever Beatles that started all? come on
All music is British, the rest is tuning up.
Plus it's meant to be ROCK..half the bands people are suggesting are no way rock bands!
oh my god rock and metal are really close so calm down. nwobhm is metal but its hella british so no harm if ppl talk abt bands like maiden or priest.@@nolajoy7759
it warms my heart to see teens getting into the old classics. It's the real basis for music education
Jaxon is a boss
I got to the Queen bit and couldnt help thinking Freddie would be so happy knowing these kids still get excited by his music.
I remember Lemmy saying in an interview, "I wish we'd sold an album for every bloody t-shirt..." 🤣
No Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, The Who, Def Leppard, Status Quo, Slade, Uriah Heep? This needs a part two.
100% These should all take the place of the verve or even Oasis. lol
Jaxon is the star of the video as usual
The guy in the black T-Shirt singing 'You Really Got Me' by The Kinks, was really going for it, and has a great voice. I could see him being a lead singer in a rock band.
The one in the pink t-shirt is such a shy, quiet individual.
Talk about attention seeking!
She sung deeper than Liam lol
@greypossum1 Please, actually or nearly causing deafness isn't a thing to laugh about.
@@florjanbrudar692 Even the girl in blue sitting next to her is totally unimpressed.
Saw Led Zeppelin in 1977, I was 9 yrs old when I went. I still remember that concert as if it were yesterday. I saw them on my birthday in 1977. That summer was the best summer of my life.
You were so lucky. I was born less than 5 months before Bonzo passed. I’d have loved to see him play. There’s not a drummer that comes close to him for me
This doesn't even scratch the surface of great British rock bands. Dire Straits, being my personal favourite rock band of all time, then you still have bands like The Cure, The Smiths, Tears for Fears. It's perceptionally endless.
As a 73 year old Englishman, and a massive Rock fan, these kids warm my heart, and
they know their stuff.
I'm from the UK and didn't expect the kids to recognise much of my musical past but was pleasantly surprised as to their knowledge and their understanding of some of the clips. I also loved their energy and reactions. A very enjoyable vid thank you! And props to the kids!
These teens should dive deep into Queen's catalog and listen to some of their underrated songs including ones where Freddie doesn't sing lead
We need a second Teens vs. British Bands video. Some suggestions: The Clash, The Cure, The Who, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Radiohead, Blur, Def Leppard, Bauhaus.
As a Brit I'm impressed that they knew so many. Seeing youngsters excited about tracks that I first heard when I was young, makes me feel the excitement all over again!
Jaxon’s music tastes warms my soul. He knows good stuff. 😀😀😀
Where's Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac (original line up), Depech Mode, Judas Priest?
Can we take a moment to appreciate the guy in the black T-shirt,nothing but good vibes from him
1:35 "I didn't know Motorhead was British."
1:37 "I have Motorhead mech at home..."
1:40 Shows picture of merch literally saying Motorhead - England. 😂
"Ozzy is immune to drugs"? Have you all *heard* him try to speak? That's not just an accent, that's an inability to control the muscles in his face 😅
Without Led Zeppelin its incomplete and unacceptable
Agree. They are even on the cover of this video but why can't we see them inside?!🤔
The really crazy thing about Sex pistols is that they were only active for 3 years, but had such a huge impact and are still listened to today.
They should do a part 2 of this video featuring The Beatles , Pink Floyd , Deep Purple , Iron Maiden , The Who , Judas Priest , Led Zeppelin , The Police and a bunch of others.
I love the kid with the black shirt who sang. Great job…these young people actually knew some of the BANDS.
fair play to the lad who picked Lemmy's Rickenbacker
Even though it's a bass, not a guitar. But tthe headstock looks the same.
The kid in black shirt is very sympathic
"Looks like a rickenbacker?" Yes it most definitely is rickenbacker
1:19 "Looks like a Rickenbacher" someone needs a raise!
I find it funny the kids knew Queen and Led Zeppelin. Both bands were famous when I was born. It just goes to show that good music transcends time.
The kid in the black T-shirt can really sing.
Taking into account that they all are soooooo young, they did a great job. Well done kids 😀
The rare positive comment about the teens in these videos. I agree, they did well.
Jaxon is the only one who should be in these videos. All the other seem so dumb about life.
I’m so glad Jaxon is in these episodes 🔥
Gosh, no Pink Floyd? No Led Zeppelin? No beatles (a less known one for instance)? No Deep Purple? No Iron Maiden? No The Cure? No Police? Com'on!!! Part 2 strongly needed!!!!
1:48 as a german.....i will always find it funny when americans think 90 mph is fast....^^''
True
It's called a 'speedometer'
I gotta say Viv was raised right! Im so proud she knows these bands!
Y'all gotta get people to listen to the symphonic metal that's out there. Nightwish, Within Temptation, Sabaton, Epica, Delain...I could go on...
Rhapsody Of Fire & Stratovarius 🔥
Sabaton is power metal not symphonic
The guy in the black T-shirt really knows his music - well done, lad! (And he's got a pretty good voice!).
That's Jaxxon. He's pretty up on just about everything.
The kid in black is going places
Where are The Beatles, The Who, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, The Clash, The Smiths, Stone Roses, The Cure, Blur, Genesis, The Police, Muse, Coldplay, Yes, Status Quo, Elecrtic Light Orchestra, Cream, Dire Straits and many others??
True
Half of those you named don’t belong in the same category. Blur, Radiohead, Smiths, Roses and Muse. Aren’t even close to being in the same level as the others
@@mariannetuite7411 Ikr
Is jaxon a music student or something ive never seen one of these where he doesnt know and enjoy alot of what hes shown
I grew up on this Variety and quality of these British Groups. My country produced some awesome groups and awesome supergroup. The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Who, The Animals, Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard, Depeche Mode, The Moody Blues too many awesome acts and bands to name. I'm proud to be British especially with this ocean of talent
The Queen sequence really shows how iconic this band is. :D
That was fun to watch! As a pretentious British rock muso who (so suddenly that I didn't even notice it happening!) inexplicably finds himself in his mid fifties, with kids of my own who are all older than this lot, I found myself smiling involuntarily all the way through!
But I have *_never_* heard any female describe John Lydon as being 'hot' before... Not in 55 whole years... 😂
British iconic rock bands not in this video: PINK FLOYD!!!!, Deep Purple, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Whitesnake, Blur, The Who, The Clash, Yes, ELO (Electric Light Orchestra), Radiohead, Muse, The Police, Coldplay, Judas Priest, Genesis, The Smiths, Rainbow... just to mention a few...
The Sex Pistols being reduced to "just guys having fun" is both hilarious and hugely disappointing at the same time
It's good that teens are still into rock and metal and enjoying this music.
Prog was also skipped, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes.
But in general, watching these videos proves that decent music from various eras works regardless of the generation if they are given the chance to properly hear it.
British Rock bands, Genesis and Yes are progressive rock bands, Pink Floyd is something else.
Errrm the beatles? The greatest selling artists on all time , inventors of psychedelic rock and heavy metal..
@@jadebel7006 They are mentioned in the section with Kinks.
@@jtsawis7078 Indeed, an overrated band.
Juliana AND Vivienne in one video, we got spoiled today! Next time maybe put Jaxon and Vivienne together. They both got a certain vibe that I think they might start singing the whole time!
Also very, VERY cute how Jaxon got Emma going. How long have they both been reacting for now? Almost 10 years I presume? You can see there's some friendship between them. :)
Absolutely needs a part 2 where is Iron Maiden
What a great kid Jaxon is, he loves his music.
The Beatles, Joy Division,Bowie, Judas Priest and the Clash are sorely missing.
those and also Iron Maiden
Do British bands from the 80s! Duran Duran, Thompson Twins, Adam & the Ants, the Cure, Echo & the Bunnymen...
You should have these kids react to Glam Rock (Slade, Sweet, Wizzard, T-Rex, Mud, Bay City Rollers, Suzy Quatro, Golden Earing)
What I took from this is that Americans think a band is American, if they’re successful 😂
Do a part two with Radiohead, Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Pink Floyd, The Who and Blur!
IRON MAIDEN, PINK FLOYD, JUDAS PRIEST, LED ZEPPELIN, DEEP PURPLE, THE WHO, THE CLASH, THE POLICE, GENESIS, RADIOHEAD?
Yes,yes,yes!!!!
Да,да,да,да,да....
Jaxon is a pop geek. He has taken time to learn pop culture from before his time lol
The Beatles, The Animals, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Clash, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Queen, The Police, Judas Priest, Motörhead, Iron Maiden, Sex Pistols, Def Leppard, The Cure, Tears for Fears, Oasis, Radiohead, Coldplay, Muse, etc. those were the definition types of classic rock, hard rock, punk rock, pop, and heavy metal in British culture-history.
madness
Que nostalgia...genios !! 😊
THE DAVE CLARK FIVE. Can't forget them?
The bloke in the black t shirt, star of the show!!
The girl with the heart shirt needs to turn her headphones down. She's always screaming & I think that would help.
Jaxson need to start a career in sing he has a great voice
about british rock you missed The Beatles , Pink Floyd and Iron Maiden
Queen universally loved 😂😂
What about The Clash, Joy Division, Pink Floyd, Police (Sting), The Who?
The vid is incomplete without Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Police
Iron Maiden, maybe?
Deep purple?
@@jimbylander1344 there are so many its all in my head so i keep forgetting at times 😭
I agree with you. Can't remember all 😁🤘 rock on!!
Smiling from the beginning to the end of this video. Pure joy
Same..
Literally didn't include the three biggest British rock bands:
Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Beatles
America needs more Jaxons.....
Went school with the verve.....what a band. And that Haigh Hall concert....wow what a night
Full props to the kid recognising the ricky bass
How are Led Zep, Deep Purple and Pink Floyd not here?
Some bands are needed for part 2
fr@@xyzdgthereal
Missing off the two most iconic - The Beatles and Led Zeppelin.
And Dio imo
Pink Floyd to name another.
@@knightheaven8992 Ronnie James Dio was American and no way could Dio be considered in the same category as The Beatles and Zeppelin. It's not even close. I'm not saying he wasn't good but come on.
"The Beatles and Led Zeppelin"
Probably because they're American bands! 🤣
I have a game with my Daughter. " She: Do you like this song? Me : Yes, I like the original better. She: I didn't know this was a cover.".
That actually happens to every second song my son asks me about 😁
The British Invasion on the US music scene happened before hippy culture took off, not while it was going on. Started in about 1963 whilst the hippy thing only became well known from 1967. I know it's only a space of 4 years but things changed so radically between that time. From suited and booted bands to flower power, kaftans etc.
It was the beatles who started it. Half a decade before the hippy movement started
How much speed did you give these kids?
No speed, just mountain dew intravenously.
😂😂
The kid in the black tee is a fair singer
I've seen a few of these, and that Jaxon kid really knows his music, fair play to him.
You should do a video with him of with more obscure stuff and see what he makes of it, because he's always enthusiastic about whatever you give him. Give him some stuff like Saxon, Supertramp, Yes, Suede, etc. Stuff that wasn't quite as mainstream.
That kid in the black shirt is going far in music
You can't knock the teenagers for not knowing who the artists were from back when, because I've no clue who sings the music I hear nowadays, but we all recognise and appreciate good music.
It should be a crime not to have Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin on a list like this
They did have Zeppelin but had to remove it because Led zeppelin are petty.
Actually impressed with their knowledge of the older bands. Parents are raising them right.
Actually, "Bitter Sweet Symphony" is a cover of the Andrew Oldham Orchestra "The Last Time", which is a "cover" of the Rolling Stones "The Last Time".
Not a cover.
C'mon, everything that Ashcroft and Co. took from this orchestral version of Stones song was 5 sec. sample. The rest of the song was made by the band.
'Loud US teens shout at the camera' - Fixed it for you ;)
Wow you're so edgy!
@@samuelisch2196 Are they loud? yes are they US teens ? yes . Are they shouting? yes ....... the phrase you are looking for is " Wow you're so correct " :)
These are quiet for Americans!
"Didn't know Motorhead were British"
Has a tee shirt with "Motorhead England" on it!
The boy with necklace.... can sing.
Lad in black tee has good parents, who gave him a well-rounded musical education. 🥰
he can also sing pretty well.
Bro thought Oasis was the Arctic Monkeys. As a person from the UK I'm devastated
Jaxon you are correct Lemmy is playing a Rickenbacker
But he loses points for not identifying it as a bass.
