“Already Gone” (1974), “Lyin’ Eyes” (1975), “Life in the Fast Lane” (1976), “One of These Nights” (1975), “Tequila Sunrise” (1973)....ect. pick a song from any album you will love it.
Amazing every time. This song came out when I was 15 and I have loved it for 45 years. Last May I saw them in concert in Salt Lake City... They are still amazing! It was the concert of a lifetime for me! Thanks for the reaction. Peaceful Easy Feeling, Lying Eyes, Desperado... There is no bad Eagles song!
Don Hendley drums and vocals. Glenn Frey guitars vocal, (now deceased)Joe Walsh guitars vocal.Bernie Leadon guitars vocals, Randy Meisner guitar vocals. .There’s always been infighting and the band has changed a few faces . Frey/Henley wrote most of their hits. Try One of these nights. ❤ fabulous reaction.
The Eagles were literally a Super Group, and they had a slew of hits. Man, you've gotta react to more of their songs soon. You can't miss with any of them, even though you started with their biggest hit. There is not one bad song on their greatest hits album. Peaceful Easy Feeling is one I would do next, and then Take It to the Limit. 👍
This song always reminds me of my childhood in southern California. It'll always remind me of California nights when I got older. But as a young child, the imagery in this song can take a child's mind to some pretty wild places, especially when they're singing about the place you live LOL This has got to be in the top 3 rock songs of all time. That solo just brings the feels.
The look of pure delight on your face said more than words could. Really enjoyed revisiting one of the greatest bands of my youth (and of all time) along with you!
I really enjoyed your reaction... You didn't stop it every few seconds like the others which i can't stand... You were intencily focused and I enjoyed this reaction, thanks. I subscribed.
One Of These Nights and Witchy Woman would be great next choices. Pretty much every guy you saw there could write and sing their own songs. The two I mentioned are also sang by drummer Don Henley. Him and Joe Walsh (guitar with the single neck) were mostly rockers. The other songwriters were more country/rock.
Your reaction may be one of my favs because you literally just sat their & took it in. Totally invested. Back in the day every New Years Eve they would count down the top 100 Greatest Rock & Roll songs of all time. 3 songs always were in the top 3. Led Zeppelin "Stairway To Heaven, Queen "Bohemian Rhapsody" & Eagles "Hotel California". We always made bets on which one of the 3 would take us into the New Year. I wouldn't dare tell anyone which order is the correct one - all 3 are worthy for different reasons. One's thing for sure they've earned their place to be debated over.
Just saw them in Oklahoma City of Tulsa scuse me just a few months ago Still rocking! Glenn Frey has passed on Don Henley singer drummer, and Joe Walsh on the single guitar red bandana still going strong there rocking out still after all these years .
One of my favourite tunes of all time. Greatest guitar duet solo by Don and Joe ever. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998! You have to listen to more of their songs!
It’s all about drugs. Colitas is Mexican slang for weed roaches. The “you can check out any time you want, but you can never leave” is a reference for a person who has an overdose. I think this live performance is better than the studio recording. Nice to see people enjoying their work nowadays, instead of all us older people who grew up with them 😳🤦🏻♀️
Yes, the story refers to drugs, but in a playful way. It's as if the Hotel was like Xanadu and whoever entered there was trapped in a trance like the lotus flower in Homer's Odyssey. It was the 70s and all these mythologies were widespread in hippie culture.
Great reaction video to a classic song! The Eagles were originally Glenn Frey (guitar, vocals), Bernie Leadon (a multi-instrumentalist guitar, banjo, mandolin, dobro and steel guitar), who left early, Randy Meisner (bass), Don Felder (guitar) and Don Henley (drums, guitar vocals). They later added Joe Walsh, a great guitarist and Timothy Schmidt. They were a power band of the 1970s into the '80s. They and Jackson Browne, among a few others defined the "Southern California Sound." Great reaction video to a great song!
My sister said she definitely felt old when she was in a record store and some young people were commenting that one of the Eagles had been in an old band called The Beatles! My, how time marches on. 🙃
“It’s basically a song about the dark underbelly of the American dream and about excess in America, which is something we knew a lot about,” Henley (Don Henley drummer and vocalist in this song) said in a 2002 interview with "60 Minutes."
Lmao! I heard this on the radio when I was 16 and went and bought the album the next day. I love your reaction.. This rabbit hole is so deep it's crazy especially with all the great solo careers.
Iconic guitar duel! Really good reaction. The eagles never did a bad song. Try desperado for a change of pace by them. You're going down a fun rabbit hole.
I was impressed that you listened to the whole song and didn't stop and start the song over and over. I could tell that you honestly were mezmorized by the song!
Lots of great music by these extremely talented musicians. That was Don Henley on drums singing but he's just one of the lead singers. He and Glenn Frey sang most of their songs.
Don Henley drums and vocals, Glenn Fry 12 string, Joe Walsh lead guitar, Don Felder on lead with the double neck guitar Randy Meisner guitar and vocals. Don Henley and Glenn Fry both had solo careers. Listen to Last worthless evening and Glenn Fry in Smugglers Blues.
Don Henley (drums/vocalist) wrote the lyrics to this while driving from Los Angeles (Whiskey A-go-go) drunk, to Needles CA, to search for peyote the next morning. On the way he played Don Felders guitar part over and over and wrote a song "about losing one's innocence, accepting adult responsibilities and not able to go back to that childlike wonder." It has nothing to do with the occult, but he giggles with all the different meanings people have made up for these words.
Every one of their albums are loaded with hits. The song is about the influx of people who came to California in the 70's to get famous, and just never left!!! California IS the hotel!!🎶🎼🎵🥁🎸🎹🎤🎙🎧🤘🤘🤘
It's such a pleasure to hear this song. But if you follow the lyrics, it's a dark description of the American way of life. 45 years later it's still true.
Love the reaction!! Please do more Eagles!! Lead singer here is Don Henley. Some of their other songs are sung by other member of the group. Check out these songs by them; One of these nights, I can't tell you why, Best of my love, Long run, Heartache tonight, Wasted time, Lyin eyes, Tequila sunrise, Love will will us alive, Life in the fast lane & sooo many others. Enjoy 😁🎶😁
They were singing about the trappings of stardom and fame and all the excess is that go with it. “Relax” said the night man, we are programmed to receive, you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave”.
Even if the exact meaning of “Hotel California” is subject to some degree of individual interpretation, one of the themes is the danger of excess. The song has been described as being "all about American decadence and burnout, too much money, corruption, drugs and arrogance; too little humility and heart" (Don Henley). It has also been interpreted as an allegory about hedonism, self-destruction, and greed in the music industry of the late 1970s.
Favorite song of theirs is "Take It Easy", many great songs as already listed. "Hotel California" is probably their most famous song. Many of them did solo song like Joe Walsh, Glenn Frey, Don Henley. "Desperado" is really famous and "Lyin' Eyes" is also a classic.
Don Henley is the lead singer and also the drummer for this song. He also has had a successful solo career. Check out Don Henley performing BOYS OF SUMMER and also SUNSET GRILL.
I watch lots of reactions, so yours popped up in my feed. Not sure which I saw first, but I must have liked it cause I went straight to your channel. Now I’ve seen several of my favorite songs. I’ve noticed a deep library for such a short time, though it seems that you’ve been doing it for a while. The absolute best is the short intro, second is uninterrupted full song, and third is your insightful and concise conclusion which encouraged me to watch another. Thanks!
As for the “lead” singer, several of them take turns, depending on the song. The Eagles are GOATs from way back. I first heard this song in 1979 and it’s so cool all of these years later to see that it’s still holding it’s own. They have SO many great songs! I’m gonna list a few you need to hear but you really can’t go wrong with any song by the Eagles! Here are some “musts” New Kid In Town Life in The Fast Lane Those Shoes Pretty Maids All in A Row The Last Resort Peaceful, Easy Feeling The Sad Cafe’ Lyin’ Eyes Plus SO MANY more! Like I said, you can’t go wrong with the Eagles!
Don Henley is on drums and lead vocal. He and Glenn Frey (RIP) are the co-founders of the band. The dueling guitarists at the end are Don Felder (double-neck guitar) and Joe Walsh (wearing the bandana). Unfortunately, Don Felder was fired from the band in 2001. There was always a lot of infighting over the years. Joe Walsh was asked to join the Eagles in 1975. The band had mostly a country/Western sound but they wanted to branch out into more of a rock sound. Joe was already an established artist by then. He's one of my favorite guitarists in general. Don Henley and Glenn Frey had solo pop careers in the 1980s/early 1990s. Joe was heavy into drinking and drugs but got sober as a condition for the band's eventual reunion. The Eagles reformed in 1994. They still perform today, although Don Henley is the only original member left. Joe Walsh is still with them. They also recruited country singer Vince Gill to sing with them. I haven't seen them in concert yet, but I've seen fan videos on UA-cam and they still sound great.
New sub here !!! "Song is about Addiction, "you can stab it with your steely knives but you just can't kill the beast" .. "you can checkout anytime but you can never leave" personally I think the Hotel California is a rehab!!!!! From all the words in the song
The Eagles have it all. Don Henley is the drummer and singer and Glen Frye and Don started the band. Check out Tequila sunrise and Already Gone. Two of their early hits from the seventies. Great reaction and great you let the song play
funny story. in the 90's during the war in europe under clinton a couple of us soldiers were captured. captors were very nice to them. one of the captors said i have just one qurestion. what does hotel california mean? us soldier said nobody knows.
There have been many ideas/theories regarding what the lyrics really are about in this song. Some say it's about Devil worshipping others a cult but according to the band the lyrics are a metaphor for showbiz.
Maybe the greatest group of talent on stage at one time ever.don Henley drums.joe walsh rythum guitar.don felder lead guitar.randy meister bass.glen frey acoustic guitar.all were lead singers all were great musicians.all had great careers separate from the group.
Excellent reaction! That's how you do it when you hear a great band like the Eagles for the first time. And to get to know them better, you should check out Life in the Fast Lane. It's sure to blow your mind! :D
I have seen this band every time that they have a tour and their live music sounds just like what their album does and the guitar solo at the end is one of the greatest guitar solos ever. Only one better is Eddie Van Halen's Eruption guitar solo from the 'Without a net tour. It is a must watch and he will leave you speechless.
"you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave". The Eagles are one of greatest rock bands ever.
One of my favorite lyrics of all time........
@@guidosarducci I agree, Lazlo! ;-D
Every time on «But you can never leave» i think about Overlook hotel from «The Shining» by Stephen King)
This is probably the greatest song ever.
💯!
No matter how often you see/hear this, that guitar duet just gets better.
Don't forget Felder.
It's ALWAYS a special delight to see a young person discover something we old timers have known and enjoyed for so many years.
Joe Walsh had his own career but always liked chipping in when he could. Great song and reaction JMBOY.
Linda Ronstadt’s session musicians were so good she encouraged them to go out on their own and birthed the Eagles.
Don Henley was the drummer, Glenn Frey was guitar with long hair and mustache. Joe Walsh was guitar and red bandanna.
Thank you for not interrupting the video. I really enjoyed your reaction to this fabulous band
The Eagles been around since the 1970's and are still touring, Hotel California is their most popular, of many songs!
“Already Gone” (1974), “Lyin’ Eyes” (1975), “Life in the Fast Lane” (1976), “One of These Nights” (1975), “Tequila Sunrise” (1973)....ect. pick a song from any album you will love it.
Excellent suggestions . Another one of my faves is Take It To The Limit.
All of the above and my personal fave "I can't tell you why" #jmboytv #eagles
I get eargasm whenever I hear the harmony on One Of These Nights.
You could pick almost any song off of this album and not be disappointed. Great to see your channel growing! 😁
Yeah. The Hotel California album was awesome. Every song was good, most were great.
These guys are in their 70’s now and I’ve seen them twice in the last two years. They are INCREDIBLE live. My favorite band ever.
- "Who are these guys?"...
- These guys are AWESOME! :) CLASSIC! Among the best.
- Many GREAT SONGS; many years!
- Enjoy
This song is metaphorical, about the trappings of fame and fortune, and at some point there's no way back to normalcy.
I can't tell you why. Desperado, pretty much all their tunes.
if Henly did Desparado this days, it will be in the billboard number 1 for maybe 1 yr. hotel california is a masterpiecev& it will not die
Bernie Leadon had left by this point and replaced by Don Felder who is on the double neck guitar.
Randy is bass guitar.
The hotel is a metaphor for the rock business, and they started out in Los Angeles (as Linda Rondstat's backing band), so it's Hotel California.
Great reaction! Your facial expressions said it all. 😄
A deep rabbit hole. This song, and every amazing song the Eagles did. I'd love to see more. My mission in life is watching every Eagles reaction.
Congrats you listened without interruption sir. You did it right 🎉
This song always reminds me of my childhood in southern California. It'll always remind me of California nights when I got older. Dude, you were LOCKED IN on this...as well you should be. Great job!
Just "Eagles". I have seen Eagles do this song and Don Henley do it live three times. Always awesome Crowd favorite. Have a Spectacular Day.
I really enjoyed your reaction... You didn't stop it every few seconds like the others which i can't stand... You were intencily focused and I enjoyed this reaction, thanks. I subscribed.

Excellent choice. I can't think of an Eagles song I don't like. Can't go wrong with this group
I know we all heard the studio version first, but I'll take this live version over it any day of the week.
Your look says it all
HC is so great that even my piano cover sounds good!! 😉
A big like for the channel for choosing it!! 👏👏👏👏
One of my favourite tunes of all time. Greatest guitar duet solo by Don and Joe ever. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998! You have to listen to more of their songs!

One of the GOATS of rock and country. This song is one of the most famous rock songs ever.
Loved your reaction.
New subscriber.
Great song, best reaction video of this song !
Eagles touched a wide variety of music from country rock , Detroit tinged soul and more ,great reaction , enjoy your channel
They make their instruments sing, it's crazy they are this good live
It really is they was so good it’s almost not fair to these new musicians.
Great reaction video to a classic song!

I saw them in 1977 and again in 2021. They sound just as good now as they did then. One of my favorite bands. Thanks for your reaction.
My sister said she definitely felt old when she was in a record store and some young people were commenting that one of the Eagles had been in an old band called The Beatles! My, how time marches on. 🙃
Great watching your expressions as you listened and delighted in this music by the Eagles. By the way, they are touring in 2023.
One of the greatest American rock bands ever!!
“It’s basically a song about the dark underbelly of the American dream and about excess in America, which is something we knew a lot about,” Henley (Don Henley drummer and vocalist in this song) said in a 2002 interview with "60 Minutes."
I used to like this song when I was 5 years old and didnt even speak english. now, I'm fluent and a dad and damn... love it more than ever.
Lmao! I heard this on the radio when I was 16 and went and bought the album the next day. I love your reaction.. This rabbit hole is so deep it's crazy especially with all the great solo careers.
You have a huge a Eagles catalogue to go through, they do not disappoint.
You will stand and applaud this performance..... Procal Harum - "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" live in Denmark 2006
They brought it with that one
Lots of great music by these extremely talented musicians. That was Don Henley on drums singing but he's just one of the lead singers. He and Glenn Frey sang most of their songs.
They are great, try their Best of my Love
all time classic! ♥
The Eagles, my favorite band! Saw them in concert in 1976. Wow!

Yeah once you've tried it you can't go back and untry it.
That my friend is the way to react to this performance,
Even if the exact meaning of “Hotel California” is subject to some degree of individual interpretation, one of the themes is the danger of excess. You can check out anytime you want, but you can never leave.
You don't just listen to the eagles, you go on a journey with them.
Hey JM. I believe "Eagles" have the best selling album of all time. Greatest Hits-1971-75
One of the greatest songs ever!
I grew up in the Suburbs of Savannag , GA USA and I was born in 1969 and the Eagles played every day in our house and cars .
The guitar duet is magnificent...
Huge, wonderful catalog ✌️❤️

Great reaction,i enjoy watching you, he's talking about the music industry...the other side of being a musician
You’ve just witnessed the greatest of the great
I watch lots of reactions, so yours popped up in my feed. Not sure which I saw first, but I must have liked it cause I went straight to your channel. Now I’ve seen several of my favorite songs. Excellent 🎉
Here are some “musts”
New Kid In Town
Life in The Fast Lane
Those Shoes
Pretty Maids All in A Row
The Last Resort

Plus SO MANY more! Like I said, you can’t go wrong with the Eagles!
Great reaction.
Your face said it all.
The Eagles are the best rock band ever
GTA San Andreas and this. Added this song to game music folder. Good times and memories.

I love this version
The Eagles have it all. Don Henley is the drummer and singer and Glen Frye and Don started the band. Check out Tequila sunrise and Already Gone. Two of their early hits from the seventies. Great reaction and great you let the song play

im.so happy you liked very much the song. they are my favorite during my heydays. I'm glad u liked it
The Eagles outsold Michael Jackson in record sales. Check out Eagles "Last resort"
There have been many ideas/theories regarding what the lyrics really are about in this song. Some say it's about Devil worshipping others a cult but according to the band the lyrics are a metaphor for showbiz.
This song is about addiction. Whether it be addicted to money, drugs or Fame....
Maybe the greatest group of talent on stage at one time ever.don Henley drums.joe walsh rythum guitar.don felder lead guitar.randy meister bass.glen frey acoustic guitar.all were lead singers all were great musicians.all had great careers separate from the group.
Saw this live when it was new
FABULOUS
The Best Version is on the Album " When Hell Freezes Over " Every song an American ICON .
❤❤❤❤
For those not aware I believe this song is about a Nut house,A True True Master Piece
Excellent reaction! That's how you do it when you hear a great band like the Eagles for the first time. And to get to know them better, you should check out Life in the Fast Lane. It's sure to blow your mind! :D
The Eagles Greatest Hits is the best selling album of all time, surpassing Michael Jackson's "Thriller".
The lead guitar player is Joe Walsh react to Joe Walsh singing Life's Been Good! Also react to the James gang Joe Walsh Group before the Eagles
