Yeah but Mustafina almost fell of the dang balance beam and was overtime. Jordyn's was flawless. And Aliya totally screwed up that floor routine. That allowed Jordan to inch her way in. Though, just because Jordyn stepped out twice doesn't necessarily mean it was worse. Maybe in the judges eyes, because of how Aliya landed kind of on her toes and her hands touched the floor. Jordyn landed on her feet but stepped out, that could possibly be a deciding factor. I think Jordyn was scored a bit too high. Aliya was so afraid if she did a simple routine that Jordyn would beat her. She should have listened to the coach.
And got better for the Olympics. The knee injury made an all around gold impossible (no Amanar) but made bars just a work of mastery. Two Olympic golds on bars plus many other medals are certainly an amazing legacy!

@@cameronmclaughlin3478 exactly. like it would be very silly for simone to fall on a front flip on beam because we all know she can hit it in literally every single routine. and i'm pretty sure we all should have a general idea how hard these routines are since these are the top result gymnasts from 2010 worlds😅
@@rhylerember nah it was just this time but still I guess the judges we're watching something different because idk how the hell Jordyn had a 14.9 with that routine
Cause it's overscored. That's why Jordyn Wieber was always hammered in international competition and missed out on the AA, she was over scored in the US and her wins were small margins and taken for granted.
Im not a gymnast at all- i just like watching- & i always laugh when they say stuff like "and they make it look SO EASY!" ...That did not look easy in any way, shape or form to me? Or "ohhh and that was a HUGE mistake there!" ..."wait, what? What did they do wrong?!"
they typically are silly mistakes for the gymnasts, it’s their job to commentate and point out errors and well performed skills. viewers who don’t know much might not be able to distinguish a good routine vs a bad one. i don’t think it’s rude or condescending. a silly mistake implies that the gymnast is too good to be making small mistakes and that they typically perform a skill better than the one they’re talking about. they get so much hate and i’ve been listening to them for a long time and never thought they were terrible
okay wait now i watched the beam routine where she said that and it was on a switch split ring leap 😓 an E skill and the hardest leap on beam. that right there wasn’t a silly mistake. sorry
Jordyn is way ahead of Mustafina in what? Certainly not gymnastics. Mustafina has 9 World and Olympic medals. Jordyn has 4. Mustafina is a World AA Champion, Olympic individual gold medalist, Olympic AA medalist. Wieber is only 1 of those 3 things. The scoring of this event was a farce. Vault was about right but every other event was a joke. Have the same event in say Belgium and have them do the same routines and Mustafina wins by over a full point.
@QPHashSS77 Mustafina has a higher medal count than Aly, Gabby, Jordyn and Komova. She is the 3rd gymnast with highest medals count-wise who is still competing, after Simone and Chusovitina. She is a queen, stop hating on her just because you're jealous
It was a known fact for years that Aliya was a problematic gymnast to coach. She was not rude for other competitors, but in the gym she was a nightmare to coach.
There is no way Jordyn would have won. She had TWO MAJOR mistakes, including a fall on the UB. Aliya only made one mistake, and it wasn't even a fall. This is why I hate the American Cup, it is fixed so that an American wins every year.
Yes but you have to remember that Jordyn was much more cleaner than Mustafina on beam and floor in general as well as vault and when it comes to bars. Mustafina opened the door with the overtime and balance check on her double turn as well as the big step and form from her dismount. Jordyn was rock solid on beam. And yeah she fell on bars but mustafina was also opening the door on beam especially the fall on floor
Well, except in 2014 where she couldn't really get a flight series, but yes considering she still medaled. And with beam finals going the way they have, I could see her sneaking in for a medal, but if other people hit...
j547454lmao Russia doesn't come to American cup anymore because they favor americans only. Mustafina was the winner here clearly and was a better gymnast at the end of the day not weiber and Mustafina had a better career
Exactly. Aliya has longevity, and already a legacy. Weiber was just an it girl. like an Instagram model who blows up over night, and then we never hear from them 3 years later after the hype dies down. 😂
I don't think so, the final results looked pretty fair to me... NBC didn't show the women's vault rotation where Jordyn Wieber performed an amazing Amanar with nearly perfect form and a tiny hop on the landing while Aliya Mustafina's Amanar had messy leg form coming onto the vault and in the air and the she landed with stiff legs and took a large step as well. So in the end, Jordyn Wieber had a better vault, a better beam routine, and a better floor routine than Aliya Mustafina who only excelled on bars during this competition
Aliya Mustafina has proven that she is consistent while Wieber failed to get any medal on her own. Plus the commentors are really biased saying Mustafina is a Diva while making a bunch of lousy excuses for Wieber's fall on Uneven Bars. They train for those kinds of distractions.
Yes I know but it should always be ok for a first year senior to fall in major competitions no matter what. Like it should not have been a big deal for Suni to fall off beam in Worlds AA bc she never competed AA in that big of a competition. Training with distractions and competing with live spectators are two DIFFERENT atmospheres with more pressure and nerves. And MANY gymnasts have fallen in their first year senior competitions aka Simone in 2013 AC as well as Nastia Liukin 2005 AC
If you’re referring to the Olympics Jordyn was competing with a fracture in one of her lower legs. She won the world AA title in 2011. That was individual. They are both great athletes in their own right.
Tim always criticizes the gymnast in the middle of their routines and I'm sitting here like "I don't want to here your damn mouth just let them do their routine😂"
Interesting how USAG pulled every single string to get their athletes into international meets, yet when 200+ come forward against abuse from professional doctors/trainers, they're shunned. It really was all about the hardware this particular quad.
Ok that beam sounds like it's made of metal. 20:26 Whoa!! That's like Nastia Lukin quality right there! That was absolutely gorgeous. BTW, that guy hugging her after her routine is John Geddert.
Those of you people who think Jordyn Weiber kicked aliyas butt are wrong aliya is a way better gymnast and has trained way harder and stop hating on the Russians
sofia plummer Jordyn FELL of the bars and won. that's such bullshit.. that couldn't happen anywhere else, ever - but here in Usa where they needed her to beat the Russians. it's not fair.
American Cup- The only event where the rules can get bent for an American Gymnast. Why was Wieber even there? Frankly, I agree with the Russians. She never competed at the 2010 World Championships, yet she got into this event because of an injured gymnast, and she never competed at the world championships. Same in 2009. She was a JUNIOR! And yet they still let her in. What? Like I said, this is like the only World Cup event that gets bent for the Americans and lets them win. Well, generally, scoring in America is never right. Just look at the scores from the National Championships. International judges would die laughing.
Keith Tae The American Cup was in February/March of 2007. World Championship was in September 2007. Yes, Shawn fell on beam during team finals at Worlds but they still did enough as a team to win. Then she won again in AA.
+Bd H Jordyn was able to compete because of an injury to a British athlete. In that case, with such little time before the event, the FIG rules state the host delegation can replace her with whoever they chose. Jordan was able to compete and win in 2009 because it wasn't an FIG World Cup meet yet. That didn't happen until 2011.
Up until the 2009-2012 quad, you could become a senior at the age of 15. This was to give countries the best possible chance to qualify to the Olympics the following year and to give all those eligible for the Olympics a chance to get international experience before the Olympics, which is why Shawn Johnson, as well as others, were able to compete at the 2007 World Championships
GymFan2000 yep.. that's just horrible imo. Aliya was trying so hard, she was almost perfect. Jordyn was meh.. somewhere in the middle. she shouldn't have medaled at all, if you ask me.
she won a few medals but jordyn would have been In if We got rid of 2 per country rules. but jordyn did get Gold In the team and had a excellent Day for the Team Day.
Jordyn got the karma for the crap that these idiots do. Brainwashing the people and trying to make the fans look stupid by trying to create a mini story line. Poor Jordyn.
Sure political backlash sucks but jordyn did great and ailiya won a Few medals but not Gold. So she didn't become a Champion. We really need to get rid of the 2 per country rules tho.
Aliya became champion on Uneven Bars in london, also won a bronze in FX and AA, and won a silver in TF... what did Wieber win?? lucky one medal. Aliya is one of the greatest gymnast and Jordyn isn't.
maybe the 9.0 execution for wieber was overscored but: wieber should not have been allowed to be part of this competition at all because she was too young and she never competed in a world championship before which is a requirement! and mustafina did a 3.5 twist in her floor exercise! i mean who does that?! she just deserved to win although she had that fall.
@@destiny236231 But Wieber shouldn't have been in this competition. One of the requirements is that the gymnast competed in the previous world championship, which Wieber didn't
Neither had Aly Raisman in her first American Cup. The host country gets 2 athletes; the USA usually has an experienced senior and a new senior at this event. Aly WAS at the world's so it is legitimate. The Russians were mad because they knew Jordyn could beat their star.
What a complete joke the scoring of Jordyn Wieber's execution on floor was. She stepped out of bounds and had two big steps on the first landings. Aliya Mustafina was robbed. Shame on the judges.
It’s honestly a good mindset for an athlete gunning for an Olympic berth. If you have idols you sometimes try to emulate them, rather than being your own individual. I’m sure she had plenty of people she looked up to, but no need for idols.
Always thought weiber was over scored and I thought komova should have won worlds over her...when she didnt make the aa in london...I thought finally she was scored right...I dont even bother watching this event anymore.
She’d have come in second in AA in 2011 if not for one thing- substantial errors (note, MULTIPLE errors) by Komova on floor. She had a couple of tumbling passes that had major deductions, at least one dance element that was downgraded and deducted because she bailed out early. Her beam had a few places where deductions were visible, bars obviously were very strong (but still had a couple of deductions) and of course vault was 0.7 SV less than Jordyn. Jordyn just simply made a few less mistakes. I think Victoria might have been better AA had her ankles not been giving her some issues. Right after worlds she had surgery on at least one (I think it was both but could be wrong) and it helped her obviously.
this is utter BULLSHIT. sorry for my language but really, Aliya was the winner here. Jordyn was good, but nowhere near the Russian gymnast. corruption at its finest.
Lmao. Jordan was a great gymnast. Not fair to comment about her considering the scoring has nothing to do with what she did. The judges are the problem.
This might be a dumb question, but I've always wondered: why do gymnasts only ever do inward turns on floor/beam (turns as in pirouettes)? I'm a dancer, and for me and most of the girls I dance with, outward turns come more naturally and are easier to get around. Why isn't that the case with gymnasts?
Saria Kokiri I'm a dancer myself and I always wondered that. I did gymnastics for a year and my sister did gymnastics for several years as well as dance and we never got an answer to that. =)
+Saria Kokiri I think it's because generally gymnasts do their twisting salto skills inward (meaning they twist TOWARD their dominant leg), so it's just more consistent to do their pirouettes the same way. Does that make sense?
Aliya - World AA Champion, won 4 medals in London - including an individual gold, Won 3 medals in Rio and her second gold medal, first back to back Olympic AA medalist in 20-ish years, widely considered the Queen of Uneven Bars, has a total of 13 World medals (and still counting) and is admired all around the world. Jordyn - Won the AA at worlds with a .033 margin over Komova, won American Cup with a .068 over Mustafina, failed to qualify for the AA in London (where, ironically, both Mustafina and Komova medaled), has one Olympic gold medal (didn't win a single individual one tho), has a total of 4 olympic and world medals *combined*, 2 of which are for team and everyone knows she won them, not for being better than others, but for being an American... no tea, no shade, just facts sis. So.... Jordyn who?
Was there a rule change between the 2009 American Cup and the 2011? They make Jordyn's age a big deal but she competed and won in 2009--and in that broadcast they said the age is okay as long as she's of age for the next Olympics. Yet here they say it's based on the most recent World Championships rankings.
+Leah Markum yes! In 2011, the American Cup became a World Cup event, meaning qualification for this meet is based off of the 2010 World Championships. So Jordan was allowed to compete in 2009 when US could basically do whatever, but in 2011, the FIG took over so qualification and who could compete became based off of Worlds
Leah Markum Jordan was overhyped, her career is already over she only competed in London. She wasn't the best Mustafina is a better gymnast and has more medals by far.
How did Wieber end up on the list if she wasn't old enough for World Championships and therefore not on the list? Did that many people decline? Is Nastia on good terms with Marta or something?
So funny to watch this in retrospective. These commentators talk like they could see the future (oh Jordyn WILL be the Olympic all around champ! Mustibina-who won't even make the team!) and then London rolled out and... Jordyn got a medal shared with everyone else while Aliya won FOUR, including a gold on an individual event, not to mention she achieved that after tearing her ACL.
Americans have this obsession or a habit of creating a narrative even if it’s just pure sport - from Aliya being this diva and stubborn, defying her coach to even setting up Nastia to talk about Jordyn’s fall and justify it to not make it seem too bad, . Wtf these were teenage girls trying to occupy their space in the world. Too much opinions coming from a terrible state of mind. Years after this Tim Daggett is still a commentator wtf.
Although people say Aliya got screwed, just remember she got to compete in the 2012 all-around, not Jordyn. And she was a favorite to win. No hate towards Jordyn
yup, in no way she would've landed an Amânar with her body at that point without big issues. however, to be fair, I'm 100% sure if it was not for the Amânar, she would've get injured with the triple twist dismount on beam, it looked SO scary. with that being said, her bars dismount was getting better and better, they were probably working on double double. it's such a shame she was a stubborn teen, she low-key sabotaged her career with her personality
what music was for Jessica Lopez's floor routine? I know I've seen another floor routine with the same or similar music....I'm thinking Rebecca Bross or Alicia Sacramone maybe? Anyhow, love the music!! 1:01:12
I truly think Aliya would've achieved even greater things if she only listened to him. She was not ready for this floor, she was not ready for this horrendous Amânar she threw here, nor she was ready for her beam dismount. Basically the only apparatus that improved was bars. It was probably her best dismount ever, I'm pretty sure they were working on double double
Watching this in 2024 and I’m like my god the men’s legs on the vault lol also why the hell was Jordan allowed to compete?!?! I will say her beam routine was insane!

Woah. You sound like a very mature 42 year old. Did you fail high school and get a crappy job at Mcdonalds and now take it out on teenagers? My mom is 42 years old and she is way more mature then you. I know she would never be on the internet calling 14 year olds "little bitches" and the law may have to say something about you doing "What you want, when you want and to who you want." this is why I'm glad I'm doing good in school that way I don't end up like you, probably doing drugs, planning a murder and going to jail. So have a nice life! And yes I am still a child but so what? Anyone could have this profile picture, even immature grown ups like you.
The Russians had a point that was Jordyn's first senior competition alyia won the all-around at the 2010 world's but jordyn won the American cup in 2010 but the competition is bast on gymnasts at the 2010 world I think American just didn't what to lose to the Russians like the did on the Olympics season of 1996-2000 where the Russians won the American cup twice
These network announcers forget a few things about the American public. We learn. They don’t appreciate that . When the years go by and we watch and now thanks to you tube we get to rewatch great gymnastic competitions we learn exactly what’s at stake. We can judge how well a routine is doing. We see every mistake. Thanks to reruns we can be sure of what we saw. The announcers gloss over the mistakes of Americans over everyone else. Is it their ignorance or just a lack of sportsmanship. I’ve watched this sport long enough to want the best to win. You can learn to appreciate a champion no matter where they come from. I can’t say that the announcers are better in the Simone Biles “Era”. Some of them are famous gymnasts from our past. Again they are glossing over mistakes Simone makes. She is not the beginning or the ending of the sport. When this broadcast is shown what do you suppose the other countries think of us. Rarely do you have an announcer that is allowed to call every mistake by every gymnast. This is needed. We sit at home seeing everyone equally. It’s our only choice if we are true enthusiasts. Being raised on examples of good sportsmanship we expect the same of networks that show NFL football and Major League Baseball and basketball. The hours of college sports gives the public the impression of the same high standards. Don’t send uneducated announcers to this sport’s events. If you ask famous former gymnasts to help you broadcast listen to them. They are the experts you chose. If you gloss over their remarks, we the American public do not. With our experienced eyes we can also see the same level of skill and mistakes. Practice saying the names of all the competitors so you can do a good job. Don’t make a habit of showing off your short comings. You don’t have to believe me. Try rewatching your broadcasts. I wrote about this problem because it demeans the sport.
Ughhh (male and female) commentators at older gymnastics competitions are mad sexist. It seems to have gotten better in the last couple years, thankfully.
Mustafina did the BEST bar routine! I mean it was near perfect. That girl can work some bars man! Was that dismount the one named after her in the code of points or was it different? It looked almost similar but like it was missing the one little thing that she added to get it into the COP. She has said in interviews that when her dad introduced her to Alexandrov her dad told him to get some heart medication just incase because she was going to test him like crazy.
Yes, that was her signature dismount- one and a half twists. Crazy thing was, her bars got far better in 2012. The knee injury only a short time after this meet forced her to only train bars for a while as she healed- creating the masterpiece she brought to London.
I love Jordyn but that floor routine did NOT deserve a 14.900. Not even close. Such ridiculously biased scoring here. I don't blame the Russians for not wanting to come back.
15:08 her leo changes from blue to orange so fast, it looks like a glitch in the matrix 😂 someone made a comment about the color switch and right when I saw it, I looked down and saw the comment because I felt crazy for a second lol and had to rewind it and check again
Aliya's floor was scored correctly she starts at a 10 for execution, loses .35 points on her first pass for crossed ankles (.1 for each twist that she does it) and .1 for the hop on the landing. In her second pass she loses .1 for the hop on the landing. .1 off of each of her spins for not having control when she steps out. Loses .25 for ankles crossed in her third pass and .8 for the partial fall. Loses .3 on final pass for crossed ankles. 10-.35-.1-.1-.1-.1-.25-.8-.3=7.9 in execution

Yeah but Ayiha also fell
aliyah is so pretty omg♥
I want to see Elfie do a beam routine without "silly" mistakes. These commentators are so rude and condescending.
Im not a gymnast at all- i just like watching- & i always laugh when they say stuff like "and they make it look SO EASY!"
...That did not look easy in any way, shape or form to me?
Or "ohhh and that was a HUGE mistake there!"
..."wait, what? What did they do wrong?!"
Elfie would die If she did any of these skills
they typically are silly mistakes for the gymnasts, it’s their job to commentate and point out errors and well performed skills. viewers who don’t know much might not be able to distinguish a good routine vs a bad one. i don’t think it’s rude or condescending. a silly mistake implies that the gymnast is too good to be making small mistakes and that they typically perform a skill better than the one they’re talking about. they get so much hate and i’ve been listening to them for a long time and never thought they were terrible
okay wait now i watched the beam routine where she said that and it was on a switch split ring leap 😓 an E skill and the hardest leap on beam. that right there wasn’t a silly mistake. sorry
Where’s Elfi’s world or Olympic medal?
Jordyn is way ahead of Mustafina in what? Certainly not gymnastics. Mustafina has 9 World and Olympic medals. Jordyn has 4. Mustafina is a World AA Champion, Olympic individual gold medalist, Olympic AA medalist. Wieber is only 1 of those 3 things.
The scoring of this event was a farce. Vault was about right but every other event was a joke. Have the same event in say Belgium and have them do the same routines and Mustafina wins by over a full point.
Here I am watching this in Feb. 2020 and loving it
Take a shot every time Mustafina's name is mispronounced.
Then you'd die from alcohol poisoning.
NotoriouslyNoelani who cares, they all mess up in other countries as well
Same about Angelina Melnikova 😅
With good Russian vodka. 🍸🍸
Lol, I never realized they were pronouncing it wrong. Would it be “ moo-stAH-feena “ ?😅
I love alyia she is so graceful and elegant
Tim really has something against the Russians. HE ALWAYS brings up 1996 and consistently calls Mustafina a "diva."
Threatened, as he should be. Jordyn is nothing compared to Aliya as the medal count shows.
@QPHashSS77 Mustafina has a higher medal count than Aly, Gabby, Jordyn and Komova. She is the 3rd gymnast with highest medals count-wise who is still competing, after Simone and Chusovitina. She is a queen, stop hating on her just because you're jealous
Probably because he wasn’t competition for them.
Cuz she ACTS like a diva!!!
It was a known fact for years that Aliya was a problematic gymnast to coach. She was not rude for other competitors, but in the gym she was a nightmare to coach.
I hate how they criticize every gymnast like they should never fall, like they're perfect or something.
Yeah I think it is so dumb I want them to try what these gymnasts are doing
divergent and gymnastics well actually 2 of them were...
Kailey Beckford when you can get a perfect score they have to make big deals out of the petty stuff.
I know!!! I mean, sometimes they just have bad days!
Aliya also fell tho…
Aliya was so much better on bars in 2012, her swing and her flow was just amazing!!
I think this is bc she was way lighter (skinner ?) in 2012, she has so much muscle now haha she is too strong for UB
Well, except in 2014 where she couldn't really get a flight series, but yes considering she still medaled. And with beam finals going the way they have, I could see her sneaking in for a medal, but if other people hit...
@@bulerfly Because of her knee injury she could only practice bars so that’s why she got so much better.
big fan of USAG but aliya should've beaten jordyn here by 5+ tenths at least.
j547454lmao Russia doesn't come to American cup anymore because they favor americans only.
Aliya fell on floor and saves on beam
Nope, Jordyn win, Aliya lost to Jordyn in London as well, qualified 4th and 5th
ALiYa muStAfinA oF GeRManY
Great job guys...
Jordyn & Aliya's beam routines were so strong and amazing!💞 idc what people say, I love both of them! 💜💙💜 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺
Jordyn was always so overscored
Rae Doll nope
lol just because you say 'nope' doesnt change anything hahahah
Rae Doll nor does your protest here and the final result
Lockon Stratos
lol lol there are seven others who agree with me.
Rae Doll in than case it changes everything, let's shut down the American cup so no more Americans can win there and at the Olympics as well
No way should Jordyn have won. She's great, but her floor routine and Aliya's may as well have been judged by a completely different panel of judges.
This 100% should have gone to Aliya but jordans beam routine was fantastic!
Lol this bullshit, Jordan's floor score was ridiculous. No wonder the Russians never sent anyone after this.
she should have had like an 8.5 escore max
right?! haha it was so clearly rigged. I would have been PISSED if I was Aliya.
god yeah im pissed on her behalf. so ridiculous.
aliya is not retired, but medaled in rio, where is jordan
Shes coaching the UCLA WAG team as she wasnt eligible for NCAA after going pro.
Why is no one talking about 36:33 and Kaeslin? Insane & unique!
Tim always criticizes the gymnast in the middle of their routines and I'm sitting here like "I don't want to here your damn mouth just let them do their routine😂"
That's there job tho lol
Agreed! He drives me nuts
I forgot how beautiful Jordan’s gymnastics was. She may have fallen, but man was that a beautiful routine. Her handstands were perfect
Al: "And with a major mistake, it cost the Russian." Well, what about Jordyns mistake? And a 9.00 in execution? It was good, but nowhere near a 14.9
Jordan got A 13.9!! Pay attention
Jordyn did better than everyone on beam. She was flawless
jordyn's floor music is like phone music when you're on hold lmao. her choreography is SO ROUGH TOO LOL. also the score. lol what is this.
Please explain to me how Musty beating Bross by more than two points in 2010 is "USA kicking Russias butt"
Interesting how USAG pulled every single string to get their athletes into international meets, yet when 200+ come forward against abuse from professional doctors/trainers, they're shunned. It really was all about the hardware this particular quad.
They already knew who's gonna win with this scamerican cup. Mustafina was just invited to compete to get more ratings
Kim Williams No. She recovered from a severe knee injury. Everyone was shocked to see that Aliya Mustafina was in the Olympics
TheEclipticSmiless becoming the most decorated gymnast and now a back-to-back bars champion without TUE is quite shocking for haters.
@QPHashSS77 yes she is!
@@adarshminj2543 - ever heard of Simone Biles? SHE is the most decorated gymnast. Google it.
Ok that beam sounds like it's made of metal. 20:26 Whoa!! That's like Nastia Lukin quality right there! That was absolutely gorgeous. BTW, that guy hugging her after her routine is John Geddert.
aliya easily deserved the win and im about as american as it gets
Those of you people who think Jordyn Weiber kicked aliyas butt are wrong aliya is a way better gymnast and has trained way harder and stop hating on the Russians
Aliya's medals > Jordyn's medals
+sofia plummer Has trained way harder? What are you, her personal advocate? All these gymnasts train hard.
Well, Jordyn didn't win at the Olympics
sofia plummer Jordyn FELL of the bars and won. that's such bullshit.. that couldn't happen anywhere else, ever - but here in Usa where they needed her to beat the Russians. it's not fair.
Then she won again in AA.
keith k Shawn turned 16 right before the worlds I think.
+Kagome Higurashi she turned 16 in 08 not 07
Up until the 2009-2012 quad, you could become a senior at the age of 15. This was to give countries the best possible chance to qualify to the Olympics the following year and to give all those eligible for the Olympics a chance to get international experience before the Olympics, which is why Shawn Johnson, as well as others, were able to compete at the 2007 World Championships
they cheated for jordyn😣
***** she was overscored.
+Stephanie Maranon no she didn't her floor routine was overscored
the problem isn't her scores it's the fact that she competed even though she wasn't at worlds
GymFan2000 yep.. that's just horrible imo. Aliya was trying so hard, she was almost perfect. Jordyn was meh.. somewhere in the middle. she shouldn't have medaled at all, if you ask me.
Obveously
Then Jordan flopped at the Olympics, while Aliya became a champion.
she won a few medals but jordyn would have been In if We got rid of 2 per country rules. but jordyn did get Gold In the team and had a excellent Day for the Team Day.
So Aliya isn't called a champion coz she won gold on UB in London? lol
Aliya became champion on Uneven Bars in london, also won a bronze in FX and AA, and won a silver in TF... what did Wieber win?? lucky one medal.
Aliya is one of the greatest gymnast and Jordyn isn't.
15:08 did anyone else see her Leo color change from blue to orange?
Whoa what the heck was that? Glitch in the matrix? Lol
maybe the 9.0 execution for wieber was overscored but:
wieber should not have been allowed to be part of this competition at all because she was too young and she never competed in a world championship before which is a requirement!
and mustafina did a 3.5 twist in her floor exercise! i mean who does that?!
she just deserved to win although she had that fall.
Alnen Brantus McKayla Maroney did a 3.5 twist on floor around that time.
It's an American event, they can add who they want.
And Mustafinas E score for beam wasn't over scored? Her amanar too? The whole competition over scored Mustafina AND Wieber.
“I have no idols and I never have” - Aliya Mustafina
It’s honestly a good mindset for an athlete gunning for an Olympic berth. If you have idols you sometimes try to emulate them, rather than being your own individual. I’m sure she had plenty of people she looked up to, but no need for idols.
mother
Beautiful Miss Zamo at 1:12:47! She was a great gymnast for Russia.
There is NOOOO way joryn's floor routine was a 14.9 not with those Gagantic steps especially when her start value is a 6.0, no way!!!!
Mustafina was robbed....SCAM CUP SUX ETA Lauren Mitchel has the best leo hands down
Always thought weiber was over scored and I thought komova should have won worlds over her...when she didnt make the aa in london...I thought finally she was scored right...I dont even bother watching this event anymore.
Who is doing all that damn coughing from 19:06-21:00???
this is utter BULLSHIT. sorry for my language but really, Aliya was the winner here. Jordyn was good, but nowhere near the Russian gymnast. corruption at its finest.
Aliya was the real winner. I'm sorry but Jordyn is nothing compared to her.
Soooo true.
Lmao. Jordan was a great gymnast. Not fair to comment about her considering the scoring has nothing to do with what she did. The judges are the problem.
and Jordyn/USA beat Aliya at the 2012 Olympics too so Aliya was nothing compared to the USA team
@@kirstyevensen7557not true lol
Jordyn is so much better than Aliya.
the men do giants SO easily its crazy!
Cuz they don't have another bar to work around!!
What so wrong with having no particular idol? Geez these comentators always have something to say about mustafina
Omg Al at 12:08 - "Aliya Moostuffina of Germany"
I love Elfie and Tim's reactions to Aliya's bars. You dont have to understand anything about gymnastics to see how beautiful that set was!
Maybe the one gets them a high D score value for fance elements then the other.
+Saria Kokiri I think it's because generally gymnasts do their twisting salto skills inward (meaning they twist TOWARD their dominant leg), so it's just more consistent to do their pirouettes the same way. Does that make sense?
Yes, it does! Thank you!
Can somebody tell me the name of the music that the girl in the light blue dress dances? The one from Great Britain.
Dress? What dress?
Russian Fusion
It was such a controversy. After this event the Russians stopped accepting invitations
Leah Markum Jordan was overhyped, her career is already over she only competed in London. She wasn't the best Mustafina is a better gymnast and has more medals by far.
15:09 DANG i didn’t know leotards did THAT! 😆😁😁
Hannah Whelan's opening triple twist!! WOW
Mustafina is such a pleasure to watch...both tremendous power and grace.
I wish Aly kept the yurchenko double, that is some amazing execution
yup, in no way she would've landed an Amânar with her body at that point without big issues. however, to be fair, I'm 100% sure if it was not for the Amânar, she would've get injured with the triple twist dismount on beam, it looked SO scary. with that being said, her bars dismount was getting better and better, they were probably working on double double. it's such a shame she was a stubborn teen, she low-key sabotaged her career with her personality
oh my, my brain read Aly as Aliya hahah sorry for that rant
what music was for Jessica Lopez's floor routine? I know I've seen another floor routine with the same or similar music....I'm thinking Rebecca Bross or Alicia Sacramone maybe? Anyhow, love the music!! 1:01:12
I miss alexandrov
I truly think Aliya would've achieved even greater things if she only listened to him. She was not ready for this floor, she was not ready for this horrendous Amânar she threw here, nor she was ready for her beam dismount. Basically the only apparatus that improved was bars. It was probably her best dismount ever, I'm pretty sure they were working on double double
Watching this in 2024 and I’m like my god the men’s legs on the vault lol also why the hell was Jordan allowed to compete?!?! I will say her beam routine was insane!
Sometimes I think jordyn wasn't supposed to be in this competition but was in so in return she wasn't in the London all around
it was balance beam that won this for Jordyn
Ok so I think this is a stupid question buttttt....Why is it called the American cup if other countries are competing?
it's an American Cup because it takes place in America :)
...She wasn't the one who asked the question. And I think it was just a joke. So calm down man.
...Dude I did want to know. Where did i say i didn't want to know? And how am i supposed to know you're not a man? I don't know you in real life? And you may be younger then me so you can't really say "stupid kids"
You don't know how old I am so i could be older then that. I'm not but i COULD have been. And maybe you should stop fighting with 14 year olds on the internet because that is just weird. No offense. Wait, Yes offense.
That's not floor music that's NBC's music- Samantha S.
Raisman and Jordyn look so alike they could be sisters !
6:25 jordyn is bowing before THE GREAT ALLY RAISMEN. lol!!!!!!!!!
😂
The Russians had a point that was Jordyn's first senior competition alyia won the all-around at the 2010 world's but jordyn won the American cup in 2010 but the competition is bast on gymnasts at the 2010 world I think American just didn't what to lose to the Russians like the did on the Olympics season of 1996-2000 where the Russians won the American cup twice
Jordyn actually won in 2009, not 2010. But you're right-- they had a chance to get Jordyn in 2011 and they wanted her to win again!!
How long until this broadcast says something questionable. 1:12? Folks, we have a RECORD
while I like this floor much better than her one in 2009, I'm glad Jordyn changed it again in time for Worlds
these commentators making me question whether it’s mooh-sta-feena or muh-sta-finna
It’s “moo-STA-fina”
So why was Jordyn allowed to compete in this???
I love JLo and her beautiful twists on floor!
Is there any Russian beside Aliya who did three and a half twist ?
It would be awesome if mustafina could do these passes: 3.5 twist, whip+whip+bhs+double arabian+stag jump, 2.5 twist+full twist and triple twist
48:06 Best beam routine, love that silver leo too!
it was balance bean that won this for Jordyn
Her balance beam was spectacular
i like your gymnastics
I've been watching gymnastics since Athens and I still don't know what open shoulder angle means.
Why does this start after the first rotation.
1:01:17 Who's music is this????
Aliya's floor was scored correctly she starts at a 10 for execution, loses .35 points on her first pass for crossed ankles (.1 for each twist that she does it) and .1 for the hop on the landing. In her second pass she loses .1 for the hop on the landing. .1 off of each of her spins for not having control when she steps out. Loses .25 for ankles crossed in her third pass and .8 for the partial fall. Loses .3 on final pass for crossed ankles.
10-.35-.1-.1-.1-.1-.25-.8-.3=7.9 in execution
