Alexandra and Alicia are like sisters, for how they go to the same gym have the same coach and leos at this. They're socially gorgeous how they support one another.
I like how if you listen to Rebecca’s music you can hear that it’s just Nastias but with different personality for a different gymnast and a different routine. I liked Bross.
Really hate the way Tim praises Alicia as one of the very best vaulters in the world. Yes, she always makes the elite, but there's no reason to say she was robbed. She really wasn't. Fair enough to point out that her fall wasn't the only thing that lost the gold in China... but it did change the momentum. I'm sure she feels terribly, but we've gotten over it and I hope she does too.
I met her at the 2012 post-Olympics tour (had a VIP pass which included a meet & greet as well as front-row seats so I was able to catch her between the performance and the autograph session) and she seemed sad. Like... vacant almost. It was just one interaction and of course you can't judge someone on that, but it did make me wonder how she's coped. Especially because she was the one expected to come after Carly & Nastia.

Simone, Aly- barely stood out until later. Peaking too early, training too hard too soon, especially pre puberty, is the worst thing for young gymnasts.
Who's on floor 1:16:30, right after Mattie Larson's bars and during Rebecca Bross' vault?? I think that's Shawn Johnson's old floor music. At 1:15:12 I can see a girl with a ponytail and a maroon leotard getting ready for floor, and the announcement for that gymnast is at 1:16:25, but I can't make out who she is.
[Hope it's not too late, even though it's been a month] I've been searching a little around the girls in each rotations/events, then I tried to understand what what said when they announced the gym she comes from, I then looked for her 2010 floor music and I think it's Lauren Beers! :)

Since she and Raisman were basically the same gymnast so they were only ever taking 1 of those 2. By that I mean both are strong on vault, beam, floor, weak on bars. Beam already had Bross and Sacramone, vault had Sacramone and lots of people you could use, and floor had Larson and Bross, so you were only ever going to use 1 of those 2 on beam or floor especialy.
For Becca at 2009 Worlds she missed her punch on the last pass and along with the super slippery floors (gymnova floors are super smooth) it makes sense why she didn't have a shot of even sort of saving it.
Technically he did since WOGA is his gym. Valeri is the founder of the gym, so yes he did do it twice seeing as how he was the head coach there. Each person has an individual coach in gymnastics and then you have the head coach who oversees everything. Just like when Martha Karolyi was the head coach for the women's national team and each gymnast had their own personal coach, same thing applies to each gym (although some gymnasts can share a coach like at the 2009 nationals where Ivana, Rebecca, and Nastia had Valeri as their coach and Alicia and Aly have the same coach for 2010-2012)

For those who may not have been able to figure it out, I believe what you're saying is that Mihai Brestyan excels as a coach for athletes on the power events (vault & floor), whereas Valeri Liukin excels as a coach/technician for bars & beam. Not sure which gymnast you're talking about but this competition was in 2009 where gymnasts could stand in the corners and take a breath before doing their next pass. This rule wasn't eliminated from the CoP until the 2013-2016 quad.

I HATE the commentary. It’s absolutely disgustingly over the top. Calling a fall ‘devastating’ at nationals isn’t always accurate. And commenting on a gymnasts perspective, unless you’re in their heads, is absolutely dumb.
I hate how they always do that whenever a gymnasts falls or makes a major mistake. They keep bringing it up and judging them on it like gymnasts aren't human smh. I remember when riley had a really dangerous beam fall and they kept showing it or bringing it up after every comp she was in after that. Same with Alicia from the Olympics smh. Let them live, it's already hard on them enough

I feel if she had stopped doing that double Arabian dismount on beam, it would have been better for her legs. She always seemed to land it painfully.
