Chellsie Memmel is one of the most consistently solid gymnasts EVER. I don’t think she ever ended up winning Olympic gold, but I’m not sure how/why-Ive always thought she was incredible! I think she got injured before the Olympics(in 2008 at least. Marta stupidly didn't give her a chance in 2012 despite how consistent chellsie is) and that's why she wasn't able to perform. Chellsie is such a fighter and injuries are probably the only thing that's stopped her from making it farther sadly. She's one of my all time favorites and she's definitely a rock! ✨

Two things that really stand out to me: Raisman and Memmel. The sheer athleticism of both girls is breathtaking. First, OMG Aly is so insanely strong and smart and focused. The fact that she did not come off those bars (and didn't break her arms!) and fought so hard...wow. She's a tiger. So impressive. And second, Chellsie Memmel epitomizes the word Olympian. She should be every little girl's idol, and not just if they are gymnasts. She is fierce and amazing and tough and talented and mind blowingly awesome. Epic. @@claudiacarpentier1456 She would have definitely done floor in team qualifying without her toe injury. Whether she did in team finals would depend on how she did and scored, but with Douglas badly screwing up floor in qualifying there is a very good shot they use her in team finals too. Plus in an ideal world they have nobody with pressure of doing all 4 events in team finals. Absolutely no chance she would be used on bars or beam at the Games, even in qualifying. Ross was stronger on those events, and was brought just to do them. Weiber and Douglas were always doing AA. Raisman stunk on bars, but she was always going to be given an AA shot in qualifying.
Yes she was injured and that held her back, BUT I also feel her routines were mismanaged and it hurt her in her all around competitions. Her 3rd pass on floor was nearly a built in deduction. She could have easily replaced that with something else that would have retained her difficulty but taken out that near automatic error. Same things things her second "low to high" bar skill. The one where she quickly swings around the bag on her hips, I believe Svetlana Horkina did that skill. Well MyKayla struggled with that skill and she had a few falls in the 2012 season because of it. Again, a skill that could easily be replaced without losing value. Hell, with how strongly she swings on the bars she could have replaced it with a vabluwen (excuse my spelling) that would have increased her difficulty while also taking out that skill that she has frequent troubles with. Again, to me, this was mismanagement of her routines! Her coach was a fantastic vaulter and coached MyKayla to being an amazing vaulter, but she needed help with some of her other apparatus.
This is funny to watch after how every shook out at the Olympics. They didn't even pronounce Gabby's name right, and she's this 'extra' they hardly mention, and just shows up in the background. Who would've thought Jordyn wouldn't even get into the AA and that Gabby would take home the gold. Crazy!

43:00 shut up daggett. stop trying to make Shawn say mean things about aly
Wisdom Time isn't it he's so irritating - needs to be fired
Heyy Tundo : Shawn has too much class to fall for that one.
RIGHT
Eh, he wasn't trying to get her to say mean things, he was commentating. Badly, but commentating. So was Amanda Borden. Shawn was probably confused as she must have thought it would be a quick 2 minute interview, not a full commentating session.
@@catseye1009 i'm sorry but you have no permission to point out any flaws a world champion, national champion, american cup champion, olympic champion, and olympic trials champion should do better and not perform poorly. this was her first meet since the olympics in 2008 so why not give her a rest? and don't forget that she has injured her knee from a skiing accident coming into 2011 so just stop with your judgements towards legends in gymnastics like it's just a waste of your personal time to even try
Seriously Bridgette Caquatto needs to move alittle bit more with her Floor music she used, she's too slow, and the music is fast and upbeat, very poor performance..
Jordyn’s routines
Beam 8:55
Bars 1:23:05
I love Sabrina Vegas floor routine
45:20 a white flag or yellow flag, I am pretty sure Tim said white flag.
Chellsie freakin Memmel!!
Maybe I'm old-fashioned but I really don't like the high leg fashion in the leotards. It seems unnecessarily revealing and ugly.
Tim says this is Chelsea first meet since Beijing when it is not her first meet since Beijing
Ikr. Tim just talks to take up air space.
Yeah I spotted that too. Like no she actually competed in 2009 Nationals just doing beam but retired afterwards up until this competition😂
WHY IS NASTIA COMMENTATING NOW INSTEAD OF ALICIA?!?!
Bc she was competing
Barbara Holbert It's Amanda Borden.
Barbara Holbert Alicia does commentary for college gymnastic meets, usually the SEC.
Emma darcy
I love Alicia, I would love if she commentated some elite meets.
Anyone feel like Gabby Douglas' skin looks darker than usual here.
+kamila Ford It may be the leotard
kamila Ford : Er no. Why do you ask? Well perhaps Gabby spent more time in the tanning both than normal. Does Shawn look a little pale? Perhaps Alicia looks a shade or two browner. How does a question like that even come to mind during a gymnastics event?
Cats Eye100 it could definitely be lighting
Not sure. The sun does cause that for humans tho...nothing to be concerned about. Lol
@@catseye1009 exactly. Why are they commenting on only Gabby's skin tone. Low key implying there's something wrong with dark skin
31:30
I'm so sorry
Actually I love it
that's not possible because you can see aly lookng at alicia when she's doing her floor routine.
I love Jordyn and Mckaylas leotards!!
I just joined gymnastics and 5 weeks later I am in level 4
I just joined gymnastics and is m level 5
