Shawn, Great video. I really appreciate your patience and attention to detail. most people gloss over some of the details. Please never lose this attribute.

Damn dude! My mind was blown when you showed how to do the mono outs. That's really cool! I've been using Cubase for years and I like how EZD3 is so much more compact in its efficiency that it made what you were talking about easier to understand for us advanced users, maybe even for the newbies as well! Great vid!
You resolved all the questions I had about this topic. Since I have Cubase and EZdrummer 3 this viseo was perfect for me. Thank you so much. It was exceptional.
Great video thanks. I'd also suggested as an alternative to assigning alternate mono tracks in the VST output settings (14:04), you can make use of those channels by panning the corresponding tracks in EZ. For example you assign both kick and snare to 1/2, pan kick hard left and snare hard right (in EZ), then in Cubase activate 1 and 2 in the outputs. You'll then have mono kick on 1 and mono snare on 2 in Cubase which you can pan etc. and you've made use of those spare stereo outputs in EZ👍
Seems it's more than just me that are going nuts trying to split the Toms from OH! Coincidentally, just last night I watched your "isolate your toms and take control with your DAW" video from 2 years ago. Great job Shawn!!🤘
You saved my life today AGAIN Shawn lol!🙂 You're such a natural and very thorough teacher. Really appreciate all you share. I'm a Cubase user and really needed this tutorial today. Thank you
Awesome tutorial as always. I knew how to get separate tracks but you showed how to get individual tracks that I never knew about. I'm also looking to change the tracks from midi to audio tracks. I'll search your videos to see if you have done this already. Thank you!
I can't imagine all situations. I will generically say if you're routing stereo signals to mono, you might have a need to pair them back together like I did here with the Overheads and such.
Hey Shawn, great video - invaluable info! I sincerely appreciate all you do! I noticed you had Superior Drummer in your dropdown as well. Have you done the same video for SD3? Thanks again!
@@ShootieSchool Thank you Shawn, wondering if you have a next steps video to this one showing the process of getting the tracks/waveforms on the project window and bringing over the effects channels from SD/EZD. Thank you for all you do!!
I am very much in the frustration camp regarding not having 32 mono output support directly within SD3. It seems like it should be possible to use busses and pans within SD3 mixer to route, for example, KickIn and KickOut to channel 1-2 without checking that box. Then, at least the driver channel utilization is fully optimal with one mic per channel. That would then reduce the problem of splitting those optimized stereo outputs from SD3 into mono channels to manipulation within the DAW. Within the DAW, while not optimal, it SEEMS like one should be able to route the SD3 stereo channels to a stereo bus to start but then duplicate the bus by sending it to two additional busses. You would now have the same 2 mics on each second level bus, one hard left and one hard right. At that point, there has to be a way to just drop one side in a conversion to mono, but I don't know how to do that. So frustrating. BTW... your video here IS the best explanation I've seen by far for how to get as close to being able to do this as one would want to. Thank you.
Thank you! My assumption is since this has been a hot topic for a while and SD4 only has so may new things that can be added, i think they will surpass the 32 channels out and give mono. Just an assumption though. We shall see.
QUESTION: @13:54 you say there are 2 kick ins when there is only one kick in and one kick out... My question is, if you hard pan left/right each of these, will you get the mono signal you are seeking? I'm not trying to be a smart-alec, i'm literally working on figuring this out for myself right now. ***EDIT*** NOPE.... I get removing the tracks now, Thank you for your awesome tutorials
A BIG thank you for showing this and making it understandable for a dumbass metal guy like myself. This is totally a game changer for me and my projects!
Looks like they are still Cubase stereo tracks. Maybe hard pan some of the EZ drummer tracks. So kick in 1/2 hard pan to 1. Kick out 1/2 hard pan to 2…. I don’t know if that makes sense?
Stereo or not in cubase, they still are heard as mono and can be panned. But you make a great point I wish I went over. One could get twice as many tracks routed by hard panning out of EZD. Nice!
@@ShootieSchool I tried the panning thing on my new project, while it did work. The left and right were weaker signals than centered so my OCD couldn’t hack it, so 15 mics on dope drums still not to bad, thanks for this video I didn’t know you could solo out on Cubase. My drum tones from “original mix” are sick AF now🤘

Is there a way to save the mixer output configuration in EZDrummer 3?
Look in the Preset Menu and look for the last option> Output Routing. See if that does what you're looking for.

Hi Shawn thanks for the video question is there an EZ drum folder for Cubase? Gr.Ness
Thank you. I'm not exactly sure what Folder means in this case.
Sorry Shawn I mean Drum map
Now how do you convert all that to actual audio
If you have no tempo changes, you use the Track Menu in EZD3 and export the audio.
Ok but where are the tracks?
I don’t have a video on exporting yet. If you want that use EZD3’s track menu for audio files.
