    This is a great tool, not only for songwriting, but also to quickly make backing tracks, which you can use to practice your instrument to (instead of just practicing with a metronome).
    For instance : i want to practice that Stevie Ray Vaughan series of riff but i don't have a legit backing track or i don't wanna practice to the metronome only... Now with this i can quickly make a makeshift drum track to play along to.
    You can even go further and also use different sounds, mixes (with the mixer), and stuff, to get used to play alongside different type of sounds.
    By that i mean : in a live environment it is very likely you will just hear cymbals very high, and a distant live kick drum. So to practice being comfortable playing in those conditions, just tweak a mix that sounds like this, using the Toontrack mixer : mute the shell close mics, open the ambiance mid mic with all bleed on but reduce the bleed of the shells, and maybe add an ambiance mic that has only the kick for bleed, and lowpass it to make it sound round and a bit undefined...
    On the other hand, you might wanna get used to having a IEM mix, which is likely gonna have no ambiance, and mostly close mics, with slight eq/gate/comp on them.
    Or maybe you can practice listening to the HH mic only, or OH only, or just the kick in and the snare top mic. Etc

    This is a fun one, Shawn! I tend to over analyze so I build up backing tracks slower than I should most of the time. I’m going to sit down right now and knock out 5 to 10 tracks like this.

    That's actually such a great suggestion, to just play around with the program and see how things work. Like somebody else said, I tend to overthink some of this stuff.. I need to think less and play more....... Thanks as always Shawn.

    I'm having trouble with getting the way the drums sound when I play it through ez drummer, and then when its recorded onto my DAW, and play it back, the quality isn't the same. I don't know if I'm missing a step in between. It took a while to even know how to get what I did on ez drummer recorded into my DAW, as every tutorial seems go skip that step.
    Like, the cymbals sound like they are sizzling. Any ideas?

    • @ShootieSchool
      @ShootieSchool  Рік тому

      If you're sure you're hearing that, there is a flaw somewhere in the workflow. When you say you're recording, that means you're an edrummer or you're literally performing on a midi controller?
      Also you should clarify, what does "onto my daw" mean? You can use EZ in standalone mode. You can use EZ in your DAW but keep the midi in EZ. Or you can use EZ in your DAW but also have the midi in your DAW.

    Will there ever be an EZ Guitar plugin?

    • @ShootieSchool
      @ShootieSchool  10 місяців тому

      Impossible to answer. TT doesn't disclose this stuff. They've only revealed that new versions on EZB, SD, and EZmix are coming.

    Are these packs worth the price? For the bundle with Mix, Bass, ez drummer and ez keys it’s around $700 aud. The price is really good but I’m not sure if it’s worth getting

      That's a good question. I couldn't encourage such a leap unless you have a history of learning software well. It's a steep learning curve to take all of there products on at once. You may want to start with the one product that seems the most inspiring before you go all in. At the end of the day, each product does have some EZX features, perfecting each product is a serious time investment. Hope that helps.

      By midi track, do you mean the Song Track in your Toontrack plugin? If so, you may have export it first. All DAWs behave differently.

    Good stuff here. As someone who is already substantially invested in EZD3, and uses it pretty much exclusively as a songwriting tool, I can't seem to find a reason to even look at "upgrading" to Superior Drummer. Am I missing something?

    • @ShootieSchool
      @ShootieSchool  Рік тому +1

      Not if you're content, no way. I would only recommend for three main reasons. If EZ does not meet your mixing requirements, more raw and less treated sounds, and pro edrummers.
      When SD4 comes out, it might be a much longer list. We'll see.
