*Disclaimer: Unfortunately, the UA-cam algorithm thrives on titles and thumbnails that could be perceived as clickbait. Although I find this particularly distasteful, as a means of reaching a new audience or encouraging my current audience to invest their time into my videos, I must work with the algorithm rather than against it. Statistics have highlighted just how effective aligning titles with the algorithm is and although this can be frustrating for many (myself included), I will always ensure that my titles:
1. Never promote false promises or unrealistic expectations.
2. Will more often than not ask a question.
3. Are worded in a manner that although might be perceived a certain way, are still open to interpretation.
Appealing to more potential viewers gives me the opportunity to further the spread of what I believe to be useful information surrounding the topic in question, in addition to a positive message which often surrounds mental health, with the goal of helping as many people as possible.
It should also be noted that the majority of my videos are based on audience suggestions. ~90% of my audience are women, therefore, the majority of videos are created to appeal to my dominant audience.
It must also be noted that although goals often vary amongst individuals, a lot of my opinions on movements are within the context of building muscle (hypertrophy) and therefore, should be considered with that in mind.
Thank you for giving me your time.*

Okay, conspiracy theory time! MAYBE the reason she labeled this as a workout for women is specifically because it's the exact same kind of training that men would use, and she's showing women that they actually don't need to train any differently?
I think she’s just appealing to her audience and maybe shielding herself from men critiquing her workout saying they wouldn’t do this for their goals etc?
@@hannahlorna8800 a little of column A, a little of column B? Regardless, we love to see someone like Harry dispelling the nonsense that men and women need to train differently.
Could also just be for SEO. She wants to target women, The easiest way is to label the workout.
@@Moose92411 yes defo train for your goals and personal needs not for your gender at the end of the day, as Harry says
Moose - dude I have been saying for three years she just plagiarises exercises and routines designed by men and passes it off as her own work.
I’m a big fan of Krissy Cela, she is the one who motivated me to start strength training and her app really helped me stay consistent, BUT I also appreciate you making this video, because at the end of the day I want to learn how to get the best results, and sometimes I get so overwhelmed when I learn 60 exercises that are supposed to target the same muscle. “Which ones to choose? and how to organize them?” I’ve finally started to grasp that a bit from watching your channel for a while now. So, thank you.
Really appreciate that you highlighted how important it is for women to give time to developing their upper bodies. It is frustrating that so few female content creators in this space do so. I had incredibly weak shoulders and upper back muscles and didn’t realize how much it was hampering my day to day until I began focusing more on them. Just this past week, actually, I realized I wasn’t hesitating when reaching up and pulling things down off of a high surface, or placing heavy things on a high surface, or just working on anything overhead period. My balance, my grip strength, my muscle coordination in my upper body has improved TREMENDOUSLY. My posture is better without me having to think about it. I have less back aggravation and my shoulder flexibility and mobility has improved way more than I would have expected it would simply from training them. I followed Krissy for a spell years ago and recently the algorithm recommended her again. Agreed, she’s improved and is clearly making an effort to learn more and to provide better information. For that, there are much better sources out there, but anyone inspiring people to move and especially lift weights is good in my books. But ya, one thing Ive learned is that if I can do that many movements in a session, I’m not working hard enough at any one of them to get good hypertrophy results. Influencers are still stuck on the “mix it up” to make it more interesting for viewers track. The really solid ones will tell you the truth: the basic tried and true movements done well, done consistently, done close to or at failure (depending on your goals), good nutrition, and good recovery are all you need. It’s just not sexy lol. Variations come into play when people have special considerations or mobility limits. But that’s not often gone into with much detail. I appreciate that you explain the why’s of the hows.
I was actually looking at Krissy's video today! I'm looking to update my upper body workout as I don't have time to do separate push/pull days this week (which I usually prefer). I'd also like to say, your advice in a previous video regarding lats has completely changed my perspective on my cable rows. Love your videos!
I'm glad it was so helpful!
Everyone’s goals are different and that’s okay! You’re not doing anything wrong by doing what’s best for you 🥰
They are!
Lovely video as always, Harry! I appreciate you so much! My fitness journey wouldn’t be the same without your content!❤
Thank you so much
Another fantastic video. I really appreciate you explaining why you would or wouldn’t include various movements and thank you for the distraction for the cardio 😂
I appreciate how you always have an explanation for why you like or dislike something 👍
Always trying my best :)
Would you consider reviewing male fitness influencers aa well? Targetting female influencers in a typically male dominated space feels a little gross. That being said, most of your audience is female, and it makes sense if you do this as it leads to more views/there's less backlash.
Love your videos and information! Kind approach and great tips - they've been super helpful for me. Would just be cool to see more variety in who you critique.
I do cover this in the description of each video. I appreciate you
Great video, as always!.
I’m so glad to hear you say (again) that we should train for goals rather than gender. I am always sad that your audience is largely women because I would love to see more men engaging with your mental health content. All of the male content creators that I watch regularly support the idea of training for your goals rather than gender, but the video approach/vibe is different. 3 of the male content creators that I follow seem to target a male audience and 1 other male has a primarily female audience. The approach is very different. You and the other male with a primarily female audience are more likely to show respect for diverse groups, provide support and encouragement to others, and discuss mental health topics. The 3 that have a male audience yell and curse. They are all very supportive and respectful to women in the fitness space, but they are defiantly more likely to make negative comments about ideas/people that are featured in their videos. People always say that women love drama…but these men with male audiences are talking crap about others and it seems to get views from their male audiences. Just saying.
Thanks for tolerating my tangent. 😉
I love you. Bent over rows kill my back! And I have a strong back, just can’t get them to feel right. Ty for putting that in there.
ily2
I found a big improvement in power when I shifted from a barbell push press to a lighter iso-lateral machine press done explosively. I do love a barbell bent over row, though. My lower back is totally fine for that one, and my upper back loves that movement.
Gotta find what works best for you!
@@TFNL and, as you ALWAYS say, what works for your goals
Video Notes:
Good sauce. I appreciate you giving credit to Krissy for improving her training, very fair from you.
Too many light changes happening, too much stimulation!
Tyvm, sir
I love starting with shoulders because they're my lagging body part.
I respect this
4 sets sound absolutely excessive to me, I do 5 exercises, 10 sets 6-10 reps, works really well for me :) but also I do take most sets to failure on my upper body days so that’s probably the main factor for getting good results
I do subscribe to Krissy. I like her but this workout isnt something i would do. I have heavy upper body today and only do 6 exercises including abs. As a woman i love training upper body twice a week! Nice video Harry! Hope you are having a great day!
Would be nice to get a video where you approach the workouts from more a strength development point of a view rather than hypertrophy/muscle development. Thanks for the video!
Strength is a bit broad, unless specified into categories (I.e., powerlifting, etc). If it’s reference to simply getting stronger by lifting more, then that aligns with everything said as to maximise hypertrophy you must get stronger :)
Hello 🌹
I really love your content and appreciate the time and effort you put into creating it and putting your own point of view to it.
I only have 1 request, if possible to speak a bit slower, so non-native english speakers like me can catch up 😆 I understand you but sometimes it is hard to catch some words 😁
What do you think about full body workouts vs. a bro split or push/pull/legs? Could a person build substantial muscle with 3 full body workouts per week?
I think all are amazing and you certainly can!
Nice takes here Harry! Good Sauce!
Thank you!
I hardly do upper body because my biceps and shoulder grows super fast😢
I always like the video before I watch it 🤩😂
Same 😅
Hi! I have a question. I’m gunna go home for a month and don’t have a gym pass there so I wanted to do home workouts. Do you have any suggestions for people I could look at for good home workouts?
He has a home workout guide
I use Harry's home workout guide, and it's awesome!
Yay I dont have to do 4 sets 💪👏👏😅 best take away from this video 😬
Haha, I'm glad you're a fan!
Sir.
Hi
Ultimate Upper Body Workout for women?

I think the gender thing is just marketing just like how Coke targeted females for their Diet Coke and men for Coke Zero despite the small difference in ratios of ingredients
Hi! This is so off topic If you don’t want to answer I completely understand❤ I was just wondering if your doing okay, I seen a part of your arm was all scratched up.
LOL do you find it funny to know the girlies are your major audience?? Also you should make a review on mia green and her programm but overall her training system much love❤
Are those self harm slashes on your forearm? 5:47 I hope you’re well.
I was thinking the same 😢 Hope he's okay

Hi
I feel like I’m unreasonably aggravated by content that is outdated or lacks scientific backing. For me Krissy and Courtney Black are serious offenders here. I used to follow them both and some of their exercises choices and form tips were just clearly poorly researched, outdated or misunderstood by them, for example Courtney used to say not to allow your knee to travel over your toe during squats, and both of their volume choices always looked extreme, when Courtney did her challenges she sometimes had two workouts a day on a six day program, and Krissy’s exercise choices often do not target the muscles she’s hoping to target. Maybe the fault lies with PT qualifications being outdated. I saw both of their books in Waterstones and it riled me that some of their baseless advice will get into the hands of women maybe around my mum’s age (who are more likely to buy a book or magazine for fitness advice than go on social media). No hate towards them, I’m sure they don’t have bad intentions but I wish they’d invest their time in researching properly before giving advice
Hairy toe man!
Always in my timeline attacking women. Never see you going after men that can come after you kick your a**!!! Krissy is so dedicated to fitness. Leave her alone. She's not perfect but who is?
I highly doubt that as a possibility regardless of gender. Have a read of my description as it’ll help explain things :)
I also saw her 'best ever upper body work out video' at least three weeks ago and I posed a comment on her chat thread where I said exactly the same thing as you - 'I will be the judge of that'.
I ripped apart her routine and explained all the mistakes she made. Guess what happened?. She deleted my critical analysis.
This solipsistic, hypergamous chick clearly cannot stomach constructive criticism.
She has good form. And I'm not talking about weights
I like your vids but can you stop the clickbait? Does it even work? 🤔
Sadly, it makes a HUGE difference (and I mean huge)
The only decent video she has made is her bikini try on vid.
i could never hate you. maybe Patricia tho
